    Burnt shoyu ramen

Good combo deals. Gyoza was crisp and juicy with a nice sauce. Good portions of ramen, savoury broth. Tables and seats are small with no seatbacks so difficult with coats and bags. Had the seasonal combo with yuzu lemonade and burnt shoyu ramen. Food comes out fast, so good for a pre-game meal.

We got the Mortal Kombat Kombo and the Cozy Kinton Combo. The appetizers - the Tokyo Fries and Fried Pork Gyoza. The Tokyo Fries were the best. Double fried to have a crunchy outer with a buttery creamy inner topped with furukake and Katzo. The gyoza were deep fried - crunchy. Nothing special. The fries were ten times better. The ramen we had were the Burnt Shoyu and Original flavors. The Original has a depth and richness. Buttery finish. Darn good. The Burnt Shoyu was different- a bit smoky. Good.

    Spicy pork ramen

Came here for lunch on a weekday. I sat at the bar and ordered the Spicy Garlic pork ramen. It was one of the best spicy ramen broths I've had. It's not too salty, and not weak spice level like the ramen you find in Seattle. It's got good heat but it didn't overpower the complex flavours of the broth. I got the thin noodle as well, and it was great texture. The only knock is that it's on the pricier side at $16.99 for this special ramen. That said their regular flavour is $15.99, and they have a lunch combo for regular ramen + gyoza + drink all for $15.99. So if you're here for lunch, get the combo.

Amazing Ramen spot in the heart of Vancouver not only for the different kinds of offerings of Ramen plus they have combos as well, but also great beers sides and awesome prices. We got the jalapeño and the spicy pork ramen and both packed a really nice punch - pleasantly surprised with the level of spice as well as the rich flavor of the broth. Also we opted for the thick noodles which were cooked to perfection, and the pork was definitely on point! To drink, we ordered a draft beer and I had the Yuzu cloud which was really delicious - not overly sweet and definitely reminded me of a beermosa, but with a Yuzu punch. Pricing is really reasonable and you even have the option to do combos for two which include two ramens, a side and two drinks - if you want to substitute they'll charge you based on the item that you substitute for. Service is super friendly, quick and helpful in a very clean and modern environment with trendy vibes. I would definitely come back to the spot if I'm ever back in town and coming from someone who has been lucky enough to have ramen in Tokyo several times this spot definitely hits the mark in terms of all its flavors - the way that the ramen is prepared and also the overall taste is awesome.

We came here for their anniversary of $9.99 ramen. I tried the pokr spicy garlic, and it was super umami. A good deep broth is a good quality ramen. The spicy was too much for me. I wonder if I can ask for less spice next time. One of their chashu is torched, and the other one isn't, but both are soft. I found out that their original shio tonkotsu version includes an egg, so that is a good incentive to try that one next time! We also tried their spicy beef garlic, but the flavor was lacking compared to the pork.

Service is quick and this little place is unusually busy. They have a burnt shoyu ramen combo that includes fries/fried gyoza and a drink for $24.99. I opted just for the ramen. Soup is tasty, good dose of garlic but unfortunately the 2 slices of pork was really fatty. If you do a review and show it to the server, you get free matcha ice cream. The place is small but not too loud. Don't bring large groups.

Unbelievable takeout experience! I just ordered from this location as my first meal in Vancouver, and was thoroughly impressed with the quality and ingenuity of their packaging. Their classic chicken ramen is SOLID! The broth has a nice whole flavor, and just the right amount of umami to make your toes curl a bit! While I can't speak to the ambience of this location (because I ordered in), I can definitely tell you that they're a real treat for fast service takeout. I can't wait to try other dishes here, and highly recommend the fried veggie gyoza as a stand out item!

Really good surprising ramen broth with the spicy garlic one. The soy or something in the chicken should change. Dinner * Spicy garlic tonkatsu ramen (Excellent) * Tonkatsu ramen (Good) * Chicken ramen (Ok)

Food was good. Just hard seats. Can't sit for ages and ages. Liked that they are open until midnight. My friend had the meal for one + yuzu cheesecake (I declined trying because I gotta cut back on dairy). I had the basic pork ramen. Not sure I'd order that particular one again. The eggs were jammy and yummy. I could go for those in a different ramen. Karage and gyoza were tasty. Good service.

Arrived into Vancouver from SFO late night. Perfect ramen place. A bit fusion but better than average. Noodle was great soup is 7.5/10. We order beef, pork, spicy pork and Dan Dan. However the appetizer was great. Recommend karage and takoyaki. Pass on gyoza.

Simple original ramen from $15 summer special
    Seraphina T.

I usually visit restaurants by word of mouth or reading reviews for different places, but Kinton Ramen caught my eye as I was walking through downtown because of their $15 summer special! It includes a "simple" original Ramen, Tokyo fries (fries topped with bonito and seaweed) , and a drink, valid from July 22- Sep 29, 2024. They were out of the two summer drinks which was disappointing as that was one of the main reasons I had wanted to try, but I was able to substitute it for a ramune instead. The other detail you should note is that the ramen in the special doesn't have any meat or egg, only wood ear and bamboo shoots. The original soup was not bad, creamy and umami while not being too salty. The fries were standard but I couldn't get the seaweed and bonito to stick to actually enjoy the flavours together. They were basically regular fries. I shared the pork gyoza with my friends. It was deep fried crispy on the outside but very soft on the inside. I'm not sure if I enjoy the softness of the meat inside as it didn't feel very substantial. Make sure you look at the ingredients for each soup! My friend decided to switch her broth from original to shoyu, only realizing after that it didn't include an egg. I do find it odd that you can't just switch the broth while keeping the ingredients the same. The chashu in the ramen looked decent, and I could see the kitchen staff using a blowtorch to smoke all the meat. The restaurant is quite small but there is bar seating and standard seating. We were able to watch the kitchen staff cook at the bar. We also noticed they had colour coded bowls showing which type of meat you choose for your ramen! And of course this Kinton location is in downtown so parking is challenging, but we had taken transit.

They are often doing special promotions, and deals. I came for the summer promo which had Ramen, fries, and a drink for only $14.99! Ramen was good/fine. I liked the fries a lot.

Burnt Shoyu Ramen was al dente
    Issie C.

My friend and I went on a rainy Saturday evening around 9pm. We picked this place among all other ramen options in downtown since it has high ratings, plus it opens until midnight. This is a newer location just under a year among their multiple locations. They have promotions from time to time. The restaurant was half occupied. It was smaller than I thought. Dining area including the bar was about 26 in capacity. The chairs are stools, except for the bench along the wall. The server was friendly and got us seated efficiently. The place was bright with the earth tone decor. The chairs are stools due to the space. The pricing of the ramen was very reasonable. The desserts, on the other hand, were a tad pricey for their size/quantity. We ordered: - Burnt Shoyu Ramen - Pork Original Ramen (Thin) - Yuzu Cheesecake - Matcha Ice Cream The burnt flavour added to the shoyu ramen is like regular ham vs smoked ham. It has a stronger and richer flavour which I appreciate. The variation of charred flavour has made the regular shoyu more bold and appealing for me. There were 2 thick slices of tender pork belly. Very yummy! I wish they have the option to order more slices. The whole soft boiled egg was perfectly marinated from egg white to the perfect yolk. The yellow ramen was perfectly al dente. Every chew had the substance. It might be hard for you if you prefer it softer. The soup was where the soul of its boldness. My friend's Pork Original Ramen (thin white ramen) was al dente also. The creamy white soup base was flavourful. It came with a whole soft boiled egg on all non-vegan ramen options. The toppings were generous. They have pork, chicken, beef and veggie on the main. For soup base, they have original, shoyu, miso, and spicy. Check out their menu. You can choose thin or thick ramen, plus more toppings. They offered these flavours for cheesecake when we were there: Black.sesame, matcha, mango and yuzu. Yuzu was very citrusy and refreshing. The texture of the cheesecake was like the New York style. The matcha ice cream was nothing special. The matcha flavour was subtle. You get 2 small scoops. I will not order it again. Overall, it was a nice first experience. Once we sat down, the rest of the restaurant was filled up quickly. People came and go even when we left around 10pm.

Your preference will depend upon subtleties about noodle thickness and texture and broth flavors, but there is always, always a line in front of Ramen Danbo. A lot of it is probably due to hype or fame, but I have to admit that I think it does edge out the others in several ways. I think the noodles themself are more flavorful and more delicate. And I have to say the pork was extremely tender and flavorful. The egg was perfectly prepared, and the broth was perfectly seasoned to my desired spiciness level. They also do a great job searing their gyozas. Because of its overwhelming popularity, they have perfected the ordering process so that you can fill out a form while you're in line, which greatly reduces your wait time. It's easy to get in and out of here in 30 min, and I'm sure that is their goal. As a result, the dining experience might not exactly be relaxing, but if your focus is on the best quality bowl of noodles that you can get, I think it is worth the wait.

I had the goma vegetarian and my brother the tonkatsu. We both had thicker noodles. However, one could not tell. The vegetarian was loaded with sesame seeds. Now i love those seeds but it was way too much for my liking. Too much seeds to chew on. They also do not put any vegetables on like Hawaii does. Everything is ala carte and that adds up. I simply chose the ramen version without all the add ons. The broth was yummy but again with the loaded seeds, it made it challenging to just drink the soup. I will say, Hawaii has by far better ramen, but this place was ok too. Pricey for for what you get though.

Paid parking was not too hard to find on the Main Street but during busy dining hours it might be difficult. We got seated right away at the bar since there were no tables open and the service was quick. Traditional Japanese style ambiance and even the bathroom had rounded Japanese bowl sink. As someone who doesn't have chicken broth (paitan style) ramen, I was really looking forward to the original ramen I ordered but I was a bit disappointed in the flavor profile of the dish. The ramen had both chasu and seaweed paired with thin round noodles. The broth was creamy and had a hint of chicken flavor but even adding several rounds of their soy sauce/salt seasoning they have on the side to adjust your broth to your liking-- I found that the richness of the soup was not what I had expected from the reviews that I read prior to coming here. Overall, a bit disappointed in the flavoring of the broth but maybe we came on an off day. I would be willing to give it a shot again in the future if I had ramen cravings and given that it was very affordable ($11-15 per bowl with tip), but I would probably opt to try another place first.

Review #3 for 2026 I…read morereally wanted to like this place. I watched many videos and read reviews before coming here, but it just did not hit the spot. After a cold day of exploring Stanley Park, we felt that ramen would really hit the spot, so we went here not wanting to deal with a wait at Danbo with a hungry and tired toddler. There was NO wait when we arrived here and we were seated immediately... which for a place that was really hyped up, should had made us think twice. There was only 1 other party at the restaurant. Now, the workers were super nice and the food came out quickly and we did eat everything because we were starving. We all ordered the cha-shu tamago ramen, 2 of us got spicy and 2 of us non-spicy. It came with extra chashu and the soft boiled egg for about $20 Canadian. The bowl was a good size and there was a promo for free extra noodles while we were there. Everyone except me in our group took advantage of it because I was too full from my bowl. Now, the broth here is different from other places because it is chicken based and not pork based. Everything I had seen about this place promised the broth is every bit just as good as the pork bone broth... however, the broth we received looked flavorful, but was bland. It was completely bland. There was no richness to it, not even a hint. I don't know, coming from southern California, the flavor just was not there period. We did all eat our food because we were starving, but it for sure did not hit the spot at all. Maybe we got an off day? Otherwise our broth had literally zero flavor to it. We all wished we had tried the other ramen place instead right after trying our ramen. Would I come back? I will have to say definitely no. We do not live in Vancouver and I do not want to waste any meals on a place that did not taste good the first time we went.

The rice bowl also had the soy meat, but seasoned differently, with a more intense flavour, along with atsuage tofu and various vegetables. It was delicious and also seemed healthy. We liked the aburi cheesecake, but it was more lemony than we expected. As for the food, unfortunately it didn't quite live up to the hype for me. I ordered the seafood sizzler bowl, and while it wasn't bad by any means, it felt underwhelming for the price. The bowl was mostly rice, with a few small prawns, tiny scallops, a little roe, and some crab mixed in. Great sauce great crunch factor! Service is always fast! You may find a line when you go but they try their best to seat you as quickly as they can. The atmosphere is usually always buzzing and the have great alcoholic and non alcoholic drink options! Will be back for sure.
