If your wanting one of the best sandwiches you'll ever eat, look no further ! I've had a few things here, but my favorite is the chipotle chicken club. If you love spicy sandwiches and banana peppers like me then it's a must. The cooks are very nice and the service is pretty fast. They aren't open for dinner so lunch is usually very busy, but the line moves fast and your in and out in no time. Kirchoff's is a five star place if I've ever been to one. The business people who work downtown eat here regularly and the sandwiches are excellent. I have the bacon turkey bravo and it's absolutely wonderful. The sandwiches are huge so plan on taking home half of whatever you order. If you have time go next door and see the sweets and breads that you can buy. This place will be packed during lunch time but don't let the line fool you because it moves quickly and efficiently. THIS PLACE ROCKS!!!!! I was born here, but recently returned. Having spent my entire adult life in major cities all over the US and Europe, I didn't expect to find such incredible food in my home town!!! I am seriously addicted to this restaurant & deli. I have not found anything comparable in town, nor even in the region. The lunch crowd reminds me of Manhattan at noon. Loved this bakery during a recent trip to Paducah KY. My only reason for withholding a 5-star review is that the deli only serves lunch from 11a - 2p, which I missed so I didn't get to sample any of their sandwiches or pizza. The bakery items I did taste were phenomenal - light, airy focaccia bread, several savory options, and the most decadent chocolate caramel bar cookie I have ever had. The sandwich (smoked pork loin) was amazing. The meat was perfectly done and the elements making up the sandwich were balanced just right. It was one of the best sandwiches I've had in a long time. The broccoli bacon salad was passable, but I don't understand why people don't fully cook their bacon. It doesn't allow the full flavored to develop and has a nasty mouth feel. I was able to try four of their dessert bars. The pumpkin chess bar was excellent. But, the other three were far too sweet for my palate. The chocolate good bar had a dry cake base that had a sawdust like texture and the lemon bar didn't have a lemon taste at all. All in all this is a very good place to eat, but I'd probably pass on the sweets the next time. I would happily return here. read more

Great sandwiches in the deli here! The fococia bread was extremely good. The turkey was amazing as well as the Reuben sandwich. The place is just a block off the river and seems to be a local favorite by the amount of people going in and out of there. We ate outside on some tables on the sidewalk. Wow, this is a great bakery with lots of choice from exceptional breads and yummy cookies. We had a savory pastry of tomato, mozzarella and eggplant, as well a spiced pumpkin scone with cream cheese frosting. Both were delicious and filling, kept us going for the rest of the day. Kirchhoff's cred lies in its bread. This bakery is in this beautiful old building in downtown Paducah and they have amazing southern treats which this Yankee didnt know existed. For instance, I only knew Chess as that thing that made Bobby Fischer insane but apparently they are also bars which are delicious. Highly recommend. read more

We stopped at Kirchhoffs late one afternoon on our way back to Iowa from Florida. We intended to get a sandwich to serve as lunch/supper. That side closes at 2 so we wandered into the adjoining bakery. We couldn't resist the display cases and I ordered a Pecan Creme Bar and my husband got a blueberry pie. Unbelievabily good and they now have outdoor seating so the quaint area lent itself to staying awhile in Paducah. It was all fun; but the pasteries remained the highlight! read more

If you are looking for a place to get a snack or light meal--in downtown Paducah---look no further. This restaurant in the old Kirchhoff's Bakery is very good. Many years ago my father ran a grocery and sold the Kirchhoff's Bread in his store. Delivery trucks rolled throughout the town and delivered bread in the early morning hours. Today this place is no longer a major city bread maker but rather a nice little restaurant tucked away on Second Street just across from the old Market House. Sandwiches are good and there was a variety of sweet items the day we stopped in for a cup of coffee. This is a relative quite part of Paducah as the downtown area mostly attracts a few tourist and the antique hunters except for the week when the quilt show is in progress and you can't get into the restaurant. Well worth a trip to sit around, eat a little and observe the local people coming and going. read more

Passing through Paducah and saw this on Yelp. Definitely worth the trip off the highway. Sandwiches piled high with top notch deli meat and fresh baked bread. Had the Ruben and the Famous Club.
