Such a fun place to visit! If you do come, reserve in advance. I waited about an hour on a Friday night for 7pm seating. You choose one meat (we ordered spicy squid and bulgogi) and it comes with a bunch of banchan. These are no ordinary banchan. They have braised pork, fried tofu in a delicious soy sauce, beef tartare, fish cake, kimchi, cabbage, and shrimp with a horseradish sauce. All so good and we left extremely full. The main guy at the front goes out of his way to make it an enjoyable experience for the diners.
Finally went to try this place!! Got the spicy squid meal and it was delicious with all the Banchan and soup!! Around $46 with tips and tax tho.. will come back try the bibimbap and the donkatsu
Stopped by Kisa and got the spicy squid baek ban, while my friend got the spicy pork. The menu is pretty short, but that's kind of the point -- they stick to a handful of dishes. Everything came out pretty quickly with all the banchan already on the table. The squid had a nice kick, and I stole a bite of my friend's spicy pork, which was really solid too. Everything felt homey and comforting, the seaweed soup especially. Honestly, I liked that the menu was simple. I'm too indecisive about what to get and what I'm missing out on, but the short menu made picking what to get really easy. Everyone was friendly, and our food came out pretty quickly. I'd come back and try one of the other baek ban dishes depending on what I'm in the mood for.
Went back to Kisa for lunch and it wasn't packed or a wait for a table. Service is fast and attentive. Scan QR code on table to menu. Got the bulgogi set which comes with an array of banchan and the donkatsu lunch set which is only available currently from Wednesday-Friday. Both meals came out quickly with big portions. Food is consistent and enough to eat for two meals. There was definitely leftovers. Love how it feels homey with quality service and food.
If you dont have a reservation expect to wait an hour - it is already a small establishment and they are very popular. If youre not familiar with the theme if Kisa it's based off of Korea's taxi driver diners. That means a very small selective menu to be a quick in and out meal. You will get a choice iof 1 of the 4 entrees they offer and that's it. The ban chan you get is whatever they have made (if it's something like raw meat they will ask you to make sure it's okay or if they have to replace that). The four options you have are: Bulgogi, Spicy Pork, Stir-fried Squid, and Bimbimbap. Sometimes they have Donkatsu too. They also offer some beer/soju as well as sodas. They have hot water/coffee in a korean dispensing machine next to the door. The food came out really quickly and was great. The squid I got was well cooked without being chewy and I enjoyed the banchan options given. It's surprisingly more filling than you may think without making you feel super bloated.
I was in NYC for work and a colleague recommended this place. Waited an hour. But the food and service was worth the wait! They even gave me a shot of soju.
Finally had the chance to try Kisa while my parents were visiting, and I think I can speak for all of us when I say the food was AMAZING. I think my expectations weren't too high because this is the type of stuff I grew up eating, so it was somewhat familiar, but I'd say that meal took core Korean comfort food and elevated it without being too complicated. My family got the spicy pork and stir-fried squid, both of which I'd highly recommend. Especially the squid, because I feel like I'm not the biggest seafood person, but it was so good and succulent, marinated beautifully with the sweet and savory spicy sauce. The highlight of the side dishes had to be the mul hwe - like 10/10 if that was a main I'd eat a whole meal of it. It's a much more delicate sweet and spicy, and the fish itself is so clean and fresh. They were pretty packed when we got there as the restaurant itself isn't too big, so definitely would recommend making a reservation. Service was great, and idk if it was one of the owners or a manager, but he greeted us and was a super friendly guy. My parents and I were stuffed and satisfied, and it's great to have this diverse buffet of little bites to support the main because their side dishes seem to have their own personality and are different from the usual banchan I find in Korean restaurants. The one thing my parents and I would say is that the price is definitely not cheap because it's $36 per order. It is a hefty portion, but it was not the price we expected lol. Regardless, had a great meal and would love to try their seasonal menus!
After reading that they made the Top 100 NYT list for 2026, I decided to give it a try. The venue definitely did its best to recreate the nostalgic Korean diner vibe, and I have to admit, they captured the atmosphere quite well. The food? Preset banchan (side dishes) with your choice of a main dish , which was okay. I grew up surrounded by incredible home cooks: my mom, grandmother, and older sister. The hot sauce and tofu reminded me of those comforting homemade flavors, which I appreciated, but overall the meal itself was not as tasty as anticipated. That said, I truly hope this place lives up to the hype and continues to succeed.
Kisa is a literal blast from the past - the design of the restaurant is very nostalgic and cozy. It feels like you are transported to a very homey mom-and-pop shop. It's decorated with paper calendars on the wall, framed family photos, small square televisions, and more. It is also incredibly popular! A reservation is a MUST for this restaurant. My friend and I booked a reservation for 5 p.m., which is the start of dinner, and there was already a line forming to be let inside. Despite the crowdedness of the restaurant, I did not feel rushed at all, and the server addressed all our questions and checked in on us every so often. The menu is very simple - you have a choice of protein, bulgogi, squid, spicy pork, or bibimbap. Each meal comes with a variety of banchan for each guest. It's all seasonal and includes dishes such as kimchi, pollack soup, fruit salad, japchae, and raw fish (mul hwe). As someone who loves to eat family style and pick at various dishes throughout my meal, Kisa was perfect. I also felt very satisfied with the portions. I decided to pick the stir-fry squid as my protein, and I was incredibly happy with my choice!! After your meal, you will receive a coin to use a vintage coffee machine. You'll receive a to-go cup of coffee or tea! Overall, it was such a lovely experience. The food tasted great and felt authentic. I can not wait to come back. :)
I love the concept behind Kisa. Modeled after cheap eateries from the 80s, this restaurant is outfitted with all the nostalgic pieces from that time. A box television flickered to life with the weather report. An old electric metal fan perched on the ceiling. Framed family photos, a paper calendar, and a wooden clock lined the walls. The vibe is certainly homey. There's a cafeteria-like buzz here. Conversations, metal chopsticks clanging against metal plates, and upbeat music drown out what's spoken between two diners across the table. This place is indeed lively and so well desired. I was lucky to secure an 8 pm table on a Saturday for two, and about 45 minutes into our time, we were rushed out by our server as the seat was booked for another party at 9. This is the only snag in my experience. Restaurants should allow for patrons to stay for at least an hour and fifteen minutes. Standard dining times usually run for an hour and thirty to two hours. Nonetheless, the delicious meals made up for our hastened dining. The menu is simple: You have a pick of three mains -- bulgogi, pork, squid, or bibimbop -- with the banchan already pre-chosen for you. I ordered the bulgogi and my friend ordered the pork. Both were delicious, with the former leaning into the sweet soy sauce flavors while the latter leaned smokey. I enjoyed the banchan as well. The rice was hot and sticky. The tofu, as someone who doesn't normally like it, was silky smooth. The spicy soy-chili sauce that came with it was phenomenal. The sashimi was equally as good, fresh, and not at all polarizing, even for someone who doesn't normally like raw fish. Would I return to Kisa? I certainly would. Hopefully I won't be rushed out next time.
This cozy Korean restaurant is so delicious and unique! I love the idea of having a set menu and being able to choose your choice of protein. The Spicy Pork is so delicious and well-seasoned, and pairs perfectly with the white rice and banchans. The staff are nice and quick, and I enjoyed both times I came here. I recommended making a reservation if possible since it may be difficult getting a table with walk-in since it's first come first serve.
Was finally able to make it here. Made reservations and was promptly seated for lunch. There's only 4 mains on the menu which comes with 7 banchans (small sides) per person. Bulgogi (thin beef in a sweet soy), spicy squid, spicy pork, or vegetarian rice bowl. They have 1 special dish Wed- Fri. My friend and I both got the bulgogi beef. The banchans were the highlight of the meal. My favorite was the velvety raw beef with the Asian pear and the shrimp salad with the wasabi miso. It also comes with rice and a nice perilla soup. My only complaint was the noise level. It was too loud to have a conversation. We will be back
Kisa in NYC is such a fun dining experience. One thing to note is that everyone at the table has to order a plate set, but honestly, it's worth it. Each set comes loaded with a variety of Korean side dishes (banchan), so you get a lot to try. We ordered the beef and the squid. I'm usually not a squid person, but this one surprised me. It was tender, well-seasoned, and really flavorful. The japchae also included minced meat, which added a nice touch. Every order also comes with rice and a hot soup, making it feel like a complete, comforting meal. The space is on the smaller side, but we made a reservation so there was no wait, which I definitely recommend. Super convenient location too, especially if you're coming from Midtown since the subway is literally right in front. I'd definitely come back again and try the pork next time!
Had been wanting to try Kisa forever and was finally able to on Thanksgiving! We walked in and got extremely lucky with immediate seating but I would definitely make a reservation next time to be safe. I had pretty high expectations but was blown away not only by the food but also the staff! The menu is pretty straightforward, which I appreciate. I ordered the beef and my friends got the spicy pork and the squid - they were all delicious but I thought the squid was the best and will definitely order that next time! All the banchan were excellent, my favorites were the tofu and the crudo. Loved the soup as well - so flavorful and perfect for a cold winter night. They also have a special soju made especially for Kisa and c as in Charlie (their sister restaurant) that is truly excellent. It's so clean and refreshing; the aftertaste of citrus is really nice. As incredible as the food was, the staff were even more amazing! I haven't experienced such great hospitality for a while here in nyc (except for also c as in Charlie! This restaurant group is clearly doing something right). They really go out of their way to make you feel welcome and treat you like family - they are the best!! read more

I made a reservation for lunch for three people on a Saturday in the afternoon and we were seated right away. The menu is very simple. You have a choice of four proteins that include includes the banchan offer for about $32 a person. Once we placed our order, it took about 10 minutes to receive our food and we all got the Bulgogi and thought it was incredible. The flavors of the Bulgogi were extremely tender and all of the little dishes that came with it were so good, especially the tofu and the noodles. Everything comes with a side of soup and rice. The service was fast and very friendly and they turned around tables fast in there. Definitely try to make a reservation if you can and if you're with a group, they only can split the bill up to two credit cards so I would recommend having one person pay and then split it after that. read more
Got a reservation for 11 on a weekday it wasnt too busy. I ordered the squid set and the katsu. The katsu was crispy with a delicious mushroom sauce and came with a yummy macaroni salad and cabbage salad I definitely recommend. I squid set was spicy and the perfect chewy texture comes with rice soup and sides, the soup was just the right amount of spicy it had pieces of fish and some veggies probably one of my favorite parts of the meal. The banchan were well flavored and had enough to be a complete meal. If you can I recommend going early so you dont have to wait. They also have the self serve drink machine which has soy bean latte,coffee and hot chocolate. The service is great very attentive made sure water was filled and everything was amazing. I finally got to try Kisa after a year of waiting! We were randomly able to nab reservations for 5 o'clock dinner the day before.Which worked perfectly because we had to be somewhere at eight. There is only 4 things on the menu, so it was fairly easy to make a choice quickly.And food was brought out right away. Everything was absolutely delicious.Our server was super sweet and explained things to us and it was such a treat.Because we had been to korea one year previously , so it was very nostalgic. I will definitely be back and recommend! read more

I've walked by Kisa so many times and finally gave it a try it definitely lived up to the hype. The spicy pork was my favorite, but honestly all of the meat we ordered was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The meal ended on such a high note with the sesame latte, which was unique and so good. The space is cozy, the service was friendly, and it's such a great spot to have in the neighborhood. I'll definitely be back. read more

I haven't been to Korea, (yet) but I did go with a friend who's from there.They shared with me that this place is their go to when they get homesick. Not just because of its authentic and staple foods, but also because the environment reminds him of a small family owned store back home. Personally as an American I think that the menu is a simplistic wonder in a sense. As someone not the most familiar with all the foods you pick your main and then all the sides are given to you surrounding it. A wonderful flavorful variety of Korean staples. Boom! It's that simple. This review is for a weeknight dinner. Had a reservation for two people. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience and will def be back! Restaurant isn't too big - very casual vibes. Service is friendly and VERY fast. Because the menu is limited and everything is essentially premade, you can easily be in and out in less than an hour, even 45 minutes. Seemed like they were taking some walk-ins so could be worth a shot if you don't have a res. Food: comes out almost immediately. I enjoyed everything and left full. Ordered the bulgogi it was flavorful, not chewy, and not fatty. And if it means anything, I went with a Korean friend and they thought all of the banchan was done really well! read more
Kisa is a tasty meal, but somewhat pricey for what you get, and they've changed the policy from unlimited side dish refills to only 3 refills now. The novelty of the big tray wears off quickly after the first visit. Worth trying once for the unique vibe but not worth waiting long in line for. We have been wanting to try this restaurant for a while, and finally got a reservation on a Tuesday night at 7pm. The restaurant is right outside the 2 Av subway exit so we didn't have to walk for long in the cold. The restaurant itself is pretty cozy, the tables are very close to each other and it was pretty loud. The menu has about 5 main dishes you can pick from, and it comes in a set with soup, rice, and side dishes. We got a bulgogi and a spicy pork, and they seem to be popular choices. The food came out quick, and the employees explained all the dishes in detail. The side dishes are not really sides, they are pretty substantial. We had a braised chicken dish, a Korean sashimi dish, cucumber, kimchi, japchae, and a fruit salad. The portions are hefty, and the dishes were so good. I actually liked the sides more than the main dish. They have a free drink dispenser that dispensed a small warm drink, we got the black bean latte which was also very yummy. read more
A kisa with old school vibes and great execution. You're immediately transported to Korea the moment you step in. Menu isn't extensive but they have some standard offerings. Opted for the bibimbap with bulgogi. All of them come with a bunch of banchan. It was presented as a wide array. A feast for the eyes! And they were all well executed! Interesting banchan selection -- some of which you don't usually find. Beef was cooked very well. The pork was also pretty killer and almost tasted like beef. Glad we snagged a reservation here this Saturday night! Came here after our girls watched a Kpop demon hunters interview here a few times, and the flavors are legit! Easy ordering (you only have 4 choices-bibimbap (vegetarian), spicy pork, squid, and bulgolgi), and they bring your main with rice, soup, and a circle of small dishes (banchan). Everything was flavorful, the meats were tasty and charcoal grilled, and the soft tofu cold dish, chicken wings, and soup were surprise favorites. We'll be back next nyc trip! read more
Came to try Kisa on a Sunday. I made a reservation for two the day before, the only time for lunch available was 11 AM, when they opened. We got there at 11, right as they opened, and we were seated immediately. There was only one other group at the time with a reservation for maybe the first 20-30 min we were there, but by the time we left around noon it was 75% full. But the place felt nice and bustling. We came in, were immediately asked if we wanted drinks, and our waiter told us how it worked. We pretty quickly placed our orders, I opted for spicy squid. We started off with a cod soup which was delicious. As we finished it up, our rice and meal came out. And it's a lot of food! I was warned so I opted to skip breakfast which was the correct decision for me. I think all the items were delicious, the stand out for me being the squid! At the end of the meal, on my reservation I had mentioned I was celebrating my birthday, and they brought out a choco pie with a candle which was very sweet! Overall a great experience and I'm glad I came here to celebrate. As you leave, you can grab a hot drink. Highly recommend if you want some good Korean food! read more

The 반찬 and 고기 were solid, but WOW is this expensive for what you're getting. If you're trying to introduce someone to Korean food or stay in Manhattan this is a fine option, but I'd use the $$ to uber to Jersey for better, cheaper food read more
YUM! I'm so glad Kisa now does reservations! We snagged one for a weeknight and were seated immediately. I love the set menu because you get to try so many different small dishes. I got the bulgogi and it was so smoky and delicious. I would highly recommend it!! They also have the cutest drink machine as you head out. You can pick between a latte, hot chocolate or a black sesame drink. Such a fun touch to make a great experience even better! read more

I love banchan, so this is probably my favorite Korean restaurant I have been to in NYC. We left feeling super stuffed, in the best way possible. We came for dinner, which I've heard has a better menu than their lunch menu. The spicy pork is yummy, but I think the value here is the combination of all the food - it truly feels like I've ordered 8 dishes at once and it's a feast for one person. Our favorites were the tteokbokki skewers (rice cakes with sausage), marinated raw shrimp (already peeled for convenience), and nokdu-mok (jelly with seaweed). To top off the experience, they have unlimited free cafe drinks at a dispenser by the door. I loved their black bean latte (which is basically black sesame milk and I don't believe there's any caffeine). I went back for seconds. read more

I won a gift card from a popup for this restaurant, so I figured, why not come by and try their lunch specials? It's nearby where I used to hang out a lot growing up, and I've never seen this place so definitely a recent addition to the neighborhood. I came by for lunch two separate times, and ordered the pork bone soup one time, and the donkatsu another time. Both came out SUPER quick (within 5 minutes), faster than most, and the food was piping hot and FRESH. Now that's some really speedy service haha. The portion sizes, especially for lunch prices, is a VERY good deal. The pork bone soup had multiple bones in them with very big chunks of meat attached to it, and the donkatsu came with two freshly fried filets topped with their own unique sauce. And both come with side dishes that to pair with it. The pork bone soup comes with chives, marinated onion, cucumber kimchi, and rice, and the donkatsu comes with potato macaroni salad, pickled radish, shredded lettuce topped with dressing, and a bowl of rice as well. The pork bone soup was nice and hearty, and the soup had some decent flavor to it. The meat on the pork bones was tender, with a lot of flavor, and a bit of chew still to it, executed very well. I love the fattier bits in particular, mmph. The cucumber and kimchi on the side were nice too, but I'm very partial to the marinated onion, that soaked up all that sweet marinade into it and softened it up. I think it complimented the soup so well. The donkatsu was also super crispy, and not at all dry, a feat considering that it's pounded paper thin before frying, which can lend to it drying out superfast amongst other things. The fried pork was good, and the sauce that's paired with it is its own thing, a bit like american style gravy, but with a sweeter, tangy element added to it to make it its own unique Korean donkatsu sauce. I like that it's not like japanese tonkatsu, it's its own thing, that they created for their own preferences and tastes. It pairs very well with the pork cutlet. The entire cutlet is all lean meat, but I would prefer a little bit of fat to it hehe, personal preference ( who doesn't love fat with meat right). The potato macaroni salad was excellent too, nice and creamy to cut the fried aspect of the main part of the dish. I didn't even notice it the first time I came here but at the end of the meal, you are also allowed to get a free hot drink from the machine near the exit, either a coffee or hot chocolate. It's just a little something but I think it's a nice, cut touch to end off the meal. Overall, the service was fast, quick, and nice, the food is tasty, with big portions and a good price point for lunch, and the ambiance is almost exactly like the taxi driver restaurants in Korea (except a little less dingy, maybe because it's still a pretty new restaurant haha). From the service, to the food, to the ambiance, everything is actually perfect Came on a Sunday night at 10 pm so it was relatively quick to get a table for two. But I can see why there would be such a long wait during normal dinner time hours. The inside is so cute. It's very cozy and comfortable The staff was extremely friendly, smiley, attentive. All around exceptional attitude and service like this can be hard to come by. It really seemed like they loved their job and loved being there, the authenticity of their service made my dining experience truly memorable. They would come and ask if we were doing okay multiple times, refilled our waters whenever they ran low, asked if it was our first time dining with them and since it was, they explained everything to us The meals, wow!! I ordered the stir-fried squid and my friend ordered the bulgogi. Both were packed with flavor!!!! The stir-fried squid is spicy. I definitely liked the bulgogi more since I can't tolerate spice but i would definitely come back to try the other menu items as well. I would come back again, even if bulgogi was the only item on their menu. The side dishes were my favorite because it elevated the meal so much. It was so fun to try everything and even though there were so many different flavors, everything was seasoned well and tasted delicious I must say, not every viral IG spot is worth the time and effort but this restaurant is a must. This place has become my favorite korean restaurant. Famous for its authentic food and truly lives up to the hype. I'd suggest making reservations as they can get pretty busy. They have a small menu but each dish comes with 7 sides and soup. All delicious. They change their sides seasonally which also makes you wanna come back and try the other ones. I usually get the stir fried squid and my boyfriend usually gets the beef. The food generally comes out pretty fast. We are always satisfied and full by the end. Very good comfort meal! We return here 1x a month at least and will continue doing that :) 10/10! read more
Very comfy vibe in here. Super packed and you will need to get here early to walk in and get a table but on a busy night you could be waiting for 2 hours. A good date night restaurant. Comforting vibes, comforting food. The ambiance suggests home-style cooking, and it clearly appeals toward a mass audience. The service was really great, the portion was generous, and I enjoyed my spicy pork. However $32 is a high price to pay to not have (as traditionally expected) free refills on banchan and the side veggies. I have never experienced personal banchan so that was cool. I'm glad I tried it. I only wish I got to try the drink that everyone mentioned at the end! read more
This place has blown up all over social media, so it was not a surprise that there was a wait. My party of 3 waited about an hour before getting seated. Menu is pretty straight forward, you pick 1 out of the 4 main dishes and they all come with their own side dishes. Very filling and everything was very fresh. Each dish comes with rice and soup (unless you order the Bibimbap, only the soup comes). This restaurant is on the smaller side, so I would recommend coming earlier before the dinner rush hour to snag a seat! read more

Came here on a Thursday night as a group of 3 without reservation. We arrived at around 6:30 and were told the wait time would be around 2 hours. We ended up waiting for around 1.5 hours and got seated at around 8. We got the spicy pork and Bulgogi for our entree and the meal came with different banchan, rice, and soup. My favorite banchan was the rice cake and sausage skewers! The rice cake was crispy and the sauce on it was sweet and savory. The other banchan were just okay. Between the spicy pork and bulgogi, I liked the spicy pork more. The spicy pork had a nice charred flavor but it wasn't really spicy. It was one of the best Korean spicy pork that I have had though. The restaurant had a cool retro vibe but I don't think the food was that special for that long of a wait time. I would suggest make a reservation if you can and I certainly won't visit if the wait time is anything longer than one hour. read more
Lunch Review Donkatsu is amazing. It was crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked. The sauce was savory and delicious. We didn't make a reservation beforehand, so the wait was pretty long on a Friday night - about 1 hour and 15 min for a 3 ppl around 7:15pm The menu is super simple. They offer about four main dishes, and the rest of the experience revolves around quality banchans. Each person is required to order a main, so we tried one of each protein: bulgogi, spicy pork, and spicy squid. All were cooked perfectly with that delicious grill charred flavor! Gave it that extra oomph The banchans were also amazing - fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. That said, the service could definitely use some improvement. Staff weren't very attentive - we didn't get our barley tea even after asking, and no one came by to refill our water throughout our dining experience :/ read more

My friends and I arrived 15 min before opening and we were towards the back of the line and almost made it in, but our friend was late so we had to put our name down and wait another 40 min since they only seat completed parties. The wait was worth it though! Each person has to order their own dish so we ordered the squid and the pork and both were very flavorful and yummy! The banchan were equally as good and the rice and soup just completed the meal. The restaurant is small, but gives a home-y and authentic vibe. Will def come back and bring more friends & fam to try! read more
This place gets busy fast right after opening - highly recommend making a reservation! You get to choose 1 of 4 dishes and it comes with a large variety of side dishes. It's fun and unique to be able to try so many things in one go, but would say most of the side dishes are either dry, lacks flavor, or just wasn't that good. The spicy squid was a great main dish, but bulgogi was really dry and lacking a bit as well. Worth coming once! read more

While i liked the food i felt it was too much hype, hard to get a reservation and then they threaten the cancellation fee if you miss it which i get but adds to the pressure...They also raised prices which i guess os fine given inflation BUT now they restrict what you can get refills on banchan to 3-4 items only (the cheaper ones), 1st time there you could reorder all of the banchan items...Squid and bulgogi is good...also you feel like they they want to turn tables quickly they want you to eat your food and leave right away they don't say it directly but you feel it...In geberal i think its overhyped for what it is and not worth all pressure... read more
Probably one of the best meals I've had in New York. I went for the dinner menu and I loved it so much. We got there around 6 and there was an hour wait, my partner was recommended this restaurant by a friend so we just had to try it. To my surprise there was only one thing on the menu, which was Baek Ban. But don't get thrown off because this dish comes with an array of flavors. According to Kisa, Baek Ban is a traditional Korean meal comprising of rice, soup, and banchan, simple yet absolutely perfect for dinner. They had the option of choosing bulgogi, spicy pork, spicy squid, or bibimbap as the main entree. I went with bulgolgi and my partner chose the spicy pork. Eating this meal was so much fun, with all the bonchon, rice, and meat they gave us the flavor combinations seemed endless. There was spicy, savory, sweet, sour, tender, crunchy, and crisp bites all throughout the platter. It truly hit EVERY spot in my taste buds. The bulgolgi was perfectly marinated and tender and the spicy pork and a smoky flavor that went partner loved. The bonchon given was: marinated shrimp, kimchi, seaweed, mung bean jelly salad, sausage and rice cake skewers, omelet roll, and potato jorim (like a beef stew). All these flavors paired well together harmoniously. There wasn't a bite I mixed up that wasn't jaw droppingly delicious. I LOVED the meal so much. No bad notes at ALL, not even in the slightest. The service was quick and efficient, the waiters checked in a good amount of times. My partner got a bloody nose while we were waiting outside and the staff kindly provided us with paper towels. Being inside the restaurant felt like I was in someone's home, the vibe of the restaurant was comfortable and lively. Everyone in the restaurant seemed to enjoy their food, the staff looked happy to be working there, which all just made the dine in experience more enticing. I would definitely come here again and would recommend everyone to go when they're looking for a bite that is simple but makes you feel every sensation in your taste buds. Celebrated our birthdays here in January during the girls trip to NYC (my two friends and I have birthdays within a month). I'm a huge fan of Korean food so I'm kind of picky when it comes to it. This place exceeded the expectations: both food quality and service were spectacular. It's probably one of the best Korean restaurants I've been to, actually. The server got us two complimentary rounds of shots and had them with us, the experience was fun! The place itself had very limited seating, and they fill up QUICK so plan ahead and make a reservation if possible. I will 100% be back when I'm in NYC again. read more
Super tasty, great value! We were craving some Korean flavors for dinner and happily came across Kisa Saturday night. The dining room was totally full but we got on the call list and got a table in 15min. If you're visiting on the weekend for dinner it might be a good idea to get a quick reservation! The dining room is cozy and bright, and pleasantly decorated in that homey way that often signifies good meals to come. Everyone is required to order a platter, but you'd be missing out not to anyway. There are 4 main protein options, and it comes with soup, rice, and 7 bonchan. We loved our squid stir fried in gojuchang as well as the bulgogi. This was a ton of amazing food for $32pp. A sleeper hut is the fried tteok skewer- so savory!! Kisa hit the spot! read more
I came here for dinner with one of my friends one evening and we had a great meal. The interior of the restaurant is very cozy, warm, and inviting. Service is also really nice and attentive here. I would definitely recommend reservations if you can as it was super busy when I went. Their menu is very simple, consisting of four different options: bulgogi, pork, squid, and bibimbap (veggie), accompanied by a variety of side dishes. My friend and I got their squid and bulgogi, and both were delicious. The portions were great and I loved the variety in their side dishes. My friend suggested we try Kisa and being someone who isn't particularly a fan of Korean food, I was blown away with the service, presentation, and taste! The entire experience felt like I was back in Korea, having a more home cooked style meal. I loved the bulgogi main entree with my favorite side dish being the japchae. I do think the chicken wing side lacked flavor and the ambiance itself wasn't too special but I did miss out on the black bean latte at the end (that I read about) so that could've skewed my opinion. Overall, an amazing experience and I would love to return again! read more
Great food, great service, great experience! The restaurant is on the smaller side! Parties 4 or smaller can make a resy. If your party is larger than 4, you will need to go and wait in line. On a Sunday for a party of 6, we waited an hour. Everything we ordered was delicious. Each dish comes with your own sides. Gamjatang was so delicious! Can't go wrong with the donkatsu and the bibimbap either. Their menu is small for lunch with only those 3 items for $18-$19. If you come between Tuesday- Friday, they have soondubu on their lunch menu Looking forward to coming back for dinner! read more
Loved the simple menu, ease of ordering, abundant banchan, the red bean drink after dinner and the accommodating and friendly staff. We shared the bulgogi and squid and i preferred the bulgogi. The kimchi, seaweed, braised short rib and surprisingly the raw shrimp were my favorite banchan dishes. Don't forget to grab a warm drink when you enter or leave! They are unique flavors read more
