Delicious food and one of the only places that stays open late in Palm Desert. With a house in La Quinta, this 20 minute drive is always worth it when I want a late night bite. Stopped by around 9pm with my girlfriend and it was dead (a Sunday night). The server was a young man late 20s with a buzz cut. I wish I could remember his name great guy! My wife and I were in PD for a long weekend and were determined to find great places to eat during our trip. Kitchen 86 definitely did not disappoint! Even though it was really the offseason we made reservations anyway because my wife wanted to sit outside (we love the heat) and it looked small in the pictures. Once we arrived the hostess was very accommodating as we determined we would rather sit inside. Once seated our server Victor (I think) quickly came over and took our drink order and provided some recommendations. While we were trying to decide what to eat the owner's mom visited the table to inquire how we heard about the restaurant and to tell a little bit of a back story of the establishment. This was unexpected but in my opinion a great touch, it felt personal. We decided to order three of the smaller plates instead of an entree so we could sample more items. Rosemary lamb chops - Perfectly cooked as requested and the glaze and garlic mashed potatoes really made this meal perfect. Boom Boom Shrimp - The breading was light and not over-applied, the chili glaze provided the right kick (I like tasting my food, not losing it with too much spiciness). On top of the taste, the portion was bigger than I expected, you can't go wrong with ordering this as an app or one of many small plates. Peruvian Ceviche - This was probably one of the best Ceviches I have ever had. There was a perfect amount of each ingredient and if the tortilla weren't house-made you had me fooled. The entire experience was perfect. The location is in a prime area to do some shopping then grab a bite to eat, the inside's industrial modern style is very nice and industrial, the cocktails were awesome, the service was on-point, and the food was awesome! We had a lovely dinner with friends tonight. We sat outdoors all the way off on the side. A perfect place for quiet conversation and a great meal. Our server was Tiffany and she was very helpful and attentive. There are a great deal of choices for appetizers. All of the starters are easily shareable. They are big portions. We tried the boom boom shrimp (delicious) and the fried calamari (crispy and a nice arrabiata sauce). The entrees ranged from pizza, salads, pasta and large plates. There is something for everyone. We tried the penne a la vodka which came with shrimp, salmon (ordered medium but it was slightly more well cooked than that), rack of lamb and curry. Everyone was pleased with there dish. I was a bit disappointed in the lack of choices for dessert. There was a 3 layer chocolate cake, cheesecake and tiramisu. We chose to share the tiramisu and it it was really good. As with the food, there were a number of choices for cocktails and wine. It was nice that the server gave us the time we needed to enjoy our food. Let me start with the service. The most delightful crew! Then the food! Amazing! I had the arugula with quinoa salad while the rest of my family made their way through the menu. As soon as the food got to the table everybody stopped talking as we were trying each others plates. Just slurping away! It was divine!! I've been back twice. This place has a great ambiance. I'd like to start by saying overall I had a good evening. The service lacks a bit but that's to be expected when they are so busy. My average review comes from the food. It's very bland and really not impressive. I also struggled with the weak flavors in their signature drinks. Okay, so I have heard so many positive things about this new restaurant off of El Paseo, and I finally got around to checking it out... I was not let down! Great staff. They were energetic and friendly, gave recommendations based on what we were in the mood for, as well as checked in on us the right about of times to make certain that our glasses stayed full and if everything was to our liking (which it was). Incredibly Flavorful Food. We started with the beat salad, and a side of meatballs in house made marinara sauce. Delicious! The meatballs were so good in fact, that we then ordered the Cauliflower Pizza crust with meatballs on it! Oh my gosh... it was incredibly flavorful. The crust was thin and crunchy on the edges and bottom - yet easily foldable NY style, and I already mentioned how amazing those meatballs were. We left there feeling perfectly full, but not stuffed. We will definitely be back!! Next visit I want to try the Ramen Noodles and the Curry, as I heard that those are amazing too. read more

This place is great!! We went there for brunch on Wednesday while watching a football game. The food was delicious and the service fantastic. They didn't mind us hanging out and drinking our bottomless mimosas through the entire game. We then went back with a larger group the next night for dinner and had another amazing experience. They accommodated a group of 7 with no reservations, and everything we consumed (apps, mains, cocktails) was enjoyed by both kids and adults. They were crowded but the service was still really good. A guy came in and played live music around 7- that was a hit as well. The prices were a little high but I have no complaint about that because all of the food was delicious. First time coming here with a group of friends. Great atmosphere, exquisite food and service. We sat on the patio which was very cozy and warmed by the heaters. For a bonus they had a DJ in a VW bus located right in front of the restaurant- super fun and entertaining! Food was great, I had the vegan pizza which was wonderfully delicious. What a great addition to the desert and El Paseo! I went with a friend and we shared a margarita pizza and the shrimp scampi. Both were fabulous. The service was very good and the owners go above and beyond to circulate and check on everything. Friendly, great food and open for late dining. How nice to be able to go to a show and then stop in for something to eat. Back again last week and nothing as changed. Once again great food and service with attention to detail. BLUF: Not a good experience this evening. Waiter was extremely inattentive and food was not prepared well. My wife and I were never asked how the food was post being served. Turns out it was not good. Had to pull the owners mother aside (who had previously introduced herself and was lovely) to mention the ridiculously over cooked fries. At that time I hadn't tried the burger which turns out was well well done when medium was requested. Once again, no one checked to see if the food was prepared correctly. Palm Springs needed this restaurant in town. They stay open until 2am Incase you get into town late or need a late night snack. The food is hands down the best we've had in a long time. We had the salmon and steak with melted cheese on it. The way the food is prepared has the best flavor and beats going to Mastros. Kristin has a big personality and is talking to all the guests and makes the place welcoming. If you want the best waitress ever ask for Natalie. We'll be back!! read more

My husband and I went here on Valentine's Day. We waited about 10 minutes to be seated for dinner without a reservation. This was a true gem of a little restaurant. The lemon drop drink was excellent. I actually had three. The shrimp appetizer was the best. I had a berry salad and added chicken. Another delicious treat. Hubby had the wonderful salmon. We couldn't resist having a side of garlic fries and their specialty bread. This was the best Valentine meal I've ever had. Before I start this review, just want to make clear that 1. My boyfriend and I are the least picky people, maybe ever, but we finally felt that this place was so bad that we needed to post on Yelp, and 2. The one star I'm giving this place is strictly for the salmon burger. It was amazing! Everything else, terrible. My boyfriend and I were standing at the hostess desk and the hostess walked up, didn't say hi, just stood there and smiled... finally we said hi! She said we could sit "over there" and pointed to a table across the patio, so we were confused and picked an open table. From there, we were brought 2 waters with lipstick marks on them, so we didn't drink them and patiently waited for someone to come back to take our drink order. After 20 minutes, we waved someone down and asked where our server was. She was confused, didn't give an answer and walked away. Finally, came back and said "I can take your order what do you want". We were so confused and annoyed at this point! Mind you, everyone, and I mean EVERYONE around us was getting great service, refills left and right, and 2 parties on both sides of us came and left before we even got our food. Food came after 30 mins, fries were soggy and kind of cold, and I have not received a refill OR PLACE SETTINGS or NAPKINS this whole time. We had to ask the food runner (while apologizing because it was not his job) for napkins and utensils. Overall, I will not be recommending this place to anyone. It has been a few days since we came here, and I am still frustrated by our experience. read more

We had an 815 reservation, were seated, waited for 35 minutes, no server came to our table, no drinks, absolutely zero interaction with us. Multiple groups who sat after us tables were touched immediately and received food and drink promptly. We decided to get up and leave. We didn't even have the chance to dine, ended up going to dinner at Eureka, they had fantastic service there! Even with a QR code ordering system The service was top notch. Excellent food and great staff! I've been 3 times now and it keeps getting better. The Boom Boom Shrimp is life changing. The Chicken Curry is a must have. I fell in love with the Pasta Cheese Wheel dish and the burger! Best part is they serve food until 1:45am in a town that is near impossible to get a decent meal in after 9pm. Ask about their rosemary infused tequila. Fun to watch the process of how they make it. Loving the location on El Paseo with plenty of parking right out back. 10/10 recommendation. read more

I did not select the rating because it isn't even worth one star as far as I'm concerned. I met a couple of friends there, and the band was so obnoxiously loud that we couldn't even speak to each other. Our meal was just mediocre at best. And it also appears to me that the owner of the restaurant hits on all the young women and it looks like it makes them feel very uncomfortable. I will never come back to this restaurant. I had to go back and select one star because it won't let you post. If you don't, this restaurant doesn't even deserve one star. read more

Customer Service sooo horrible..I left my phone as to where we're seating @, came back home to LA, only to realize I left my phone at to where were seating at.. keep following up many times on the day I lost my phone, talked to the manager, he said they didn't see the phone, and requested if he or the crew found it ,requested to get hold of # to call me, and he even promised and committed he will call me. keep following up for 2 days, still getting the same answer, that they still give me an answer that they didn't see my phone at all,even thou I keep telling them that It shows on my iwatch and my daughter's phone that my phone is still in that restaurant, so me and my boyfriend decided to go on the 2nd day at that place, as soon as we get in, the girl obviously knew that we're looking for my phone, she just went to the drawer and give me my phone, how dare!, I realized that my phone was just seating there in that f.. drawer the whole time. The worst experience I have ever encountered, from the manager to the crew, all are Liars and so inconsiderate. the worst place to go to, very unreliable, very unhelpful, very deceitful more so to the manager, very unprofessional, totally untrustworthy. I recommend never ever check this place out..no stars at all.. this place deserves nothing, should close down. read more

Okay don't do this often but Mary is one of the best servers I have ever had (I was a server for 10 years working at places such as Wally's and Eddie V's) . She is a high caliber go getter with an extra incredible personality. If she wanted to do high end service she could. She made our entire experience! On the note of food. It's fantastic one of my favorite places to go on El Paso. Not overly expensive but delicious! I love it. Also bring back 2.86 all you can drink mimosas! Please.
