Went in on Tuesday night for dinner. Seated promptly but after waiting 15 minutes no one greeted us so I got up and walked to the bar and asked them to send a server. A busboy came by and brought us waters and he ended up taking our whole order. By the time the server showed up we told her we had placed our order with the busboy. Food was okay, not as good as usual but still pretty good. We were done with our meal and our table was cleared and now I was waiting for the check. Once again I had to get up to go to the bar and ask for the check. I guess there is no manager working on Tuesday nights. read more

We dined there on their 3rd day of Business. The menu was limited only because the owners want to get everything done right. We started with wine. The list has a great selection of by the glass or by the bottle. Some of our favorites are on there we had a nice Sauvignon Blanc . We started with an order of Calamari. The breading was amazing and perfect. The sauce just the right amount of zing. We shared a wood fired Margarita Pizza. I could have sworn we were in Italy. It was so good. And then we had the pasta of the day in the Wheel of Cheese. Penne with Pesto and chicken. It is a dish we will go back for over and over again and to have. Our servers were on point and cheerful. My boyfriend and I were invited to one of the "testing nights" and we are so happy with our experience here! The variety of food options was fun and definitely not something you'd find at other restaurants- especially here in the desert. We ordered the shrimp to start with the beet salad. The beet salad was so yummy and earthy- the subtle dash of pepper completed the salad and the shrimp was so lightly breaded that I didn't feel totally unhealthy eating it. My boyfriend ordered the chicken curry and I ordered the salmon. Again, so delicious and the portions were big enough for me to have left overs for lunch the next day. I ordered the mule as my drink but subbed the vodka for whiskey. Hands down one of the best spirits drinks I've ever had. What really made the experience was our server, Joy and our busier, Xanthe. Great location on fabulous El Paseo. Outside dining with warm, friendly staff. We started with Kitchen 86 bread (plenty for 3 guests). My Rigate Con Sarge with chicken penne in a delicious lite tarragon sauce was perfect (leftover). The Chicken Picada served with fresh green beans and mashed potatoes, also delicious (leftover). Glad I've discovered this hip hangout only a few days after their opening. great food and a cool vibe on El Paseo. Pizza de Parma was spot on...great crispy crust. The roasted Brussels sprouts were yummy and the Boom Boom shrimp had a nice kick without an after burn. Loved sitting at the bar and watching the action in the open kitchen. And the sound level is not too loud so you can actually have a conversation without screaming at each other. Looking forward to trying other items that weren't "in the menu boxes" tonight. Very disappointed the food was not edible breakfast is hard to mess up. When a waffle is heavy as lead a frozen one would have been better you know it's bad. I don't often write a review but to send back food then have a wait staff be rude and think it's ok to charge for food sent back is unacceptable. A manager should have addressed this. Woo hoo! This place is great. Absolutely delicious food with fair prices. I had the tacos made with Bang Bang Shrimp (crispy and spicy sweet w/ crunchy slaw) and the Mexican Street Corn (heaven on a plate - charred, creamy, sour, salty), my dining companions had the Choose 4 special for $49 (Choose a salad, an app, an entree, and a dessert). They loved it! The Kale Caesar (she doesn't even like kale and gobbled it up) and the Lamb Chops (like butter) w/ mashed potatoes and roasted asparagus were the hits of the night. The service was a bit disorganized and slow; our server forgot what we ordered a couple of times. However, they've only been open for 12 weeks, so I figure they'll work the kinks out soon enough. We went for a late night drink and bite and were fully satisfied. It was one of the only places in town open at 11pm on a Tuesday, so we were set on going in. We each got the Bee Sting cocktail (yummy but slightly too sour for my liking) and shared the burger on the late night menu that came with garlic fries. The burger patty was perfectly cooked and came out nice and juicy. I'm not sure if we were just starving, but everything tasted like heaven. Would definitely recommend coming here again. 9/27. First time here and not sure how I felt. Things got progressively worse. The shrimp appetizer was amazing, definitely recommend. We ordered a margarita pizza which was ok. Lastly ordered the cheese ravioli and they were awful. The sauce unfortunately was not good at all, almost had a lemon taste to it. Sadly we never saw our server again once we ordered food. The busser kindly brought us water and cleared our plates as we waited for the waitress to come back. We were staying at the Autograph hotel and wanted something in walking distance to our hotel. Found this on Yelp and decided to give it a try. We called the restaurant because we couldn't get an online reservation. Krissy was awesome she reserved a table for us on Saturday night last min at 7:45pm. The atmosphere is great, with a young hip vibe. Great service and amazing food. We shared 2 appetizers, the street corn,boom boom shrimp. We were full from the large portions. We decided to shared the burger and had the bread pudding for desert. All were outstanding! I hope this family run business does well. In town for the wekeend, decided to have lunch here. Cant say I was diappointed. Was greeted immediately by the hostess and sat in a booth. We were greeted by Felipe(hope I spelled that right). He was a wonderful host for our lunch. Spot on with drink recommendations and what the hot items on the menu were. Our table orders 2 burgers. 1 raspberry pizza, and a ramen bowl. Burgers were perfect, pizza was spot on and as I did not try the ramen bowl I cant speak on it. But if the 13 yr old girl that devoured almost the whole thing is any indication, it was good. We tried this place for the first time for lunch and thought it was wonderful. Our food was excellent, the location and atmosphere could not have been better, and it was topped off by our waiter ( Hector) who was very knowledgeable and attentive. We have been a few times. Never a great experience on a street of restaurants that allows provides great food, service and gladly experiences. Communication issues between servers and kitchen or the kitchen staff doesn't care about customer service. We ordered an Astarita cauliflower flatbread with no cheese. The flatbread showed up on normal crust with no cheese. Unfortunately it was sent back, the kitchen then sent out a cauliflower crust with no sauce, no cheese just a few dry pieces of meat on top of it. The server was clearly over the situation but the end result severed to us was unexpected. Go someone else on El Paseo! read more

Do yourself a favor, and GO. Everything about walking into kitchen 86 was wonderful. The hostess was so sweet, the waiter was very kind and helpful, and the manger was just as great. We started with a glass of wine, the boom boom shrimp (a MUST) as our appetizer, the boojee pasta for the main course. To top it off I pointed out a dessert I saw on yelp and I was told they were out but the best dessert was the tiramisu, IT WAS the best dessert, but even better they ended up having the dessert I originally wanted and they gifted it to our table. They have really nice outdoor dinning settings. We've got Duo Shrimp Tacos to share to begin with. It was the best tacos I've had. We also got The Margarita Pizza and Linguine as main lunch.
