Do love the cute little kids kitchen!

We used to come here a lot- like once a week. Then it was every two weeks and now it's far and few. The food used to be SO GOOD and the vibes were great. Not sure what happened but the portions got smaller, prices went up, service became mediocre. The food just tasted okay the last time we went. And paying like $89 for a family of three before tip would be understandable if the portions and service were on par but that's not the case. Sucks because this used to be my favorite breakfast spot.

Met friends here on a Friday morning and easily secured a table. The we ordered at the counter and got our number. Water is self serve, so I grabbed some for us. Utensils and napkins are provided in a plastic beverage cup on the table. Had to raid an empty table for a couple napkins. I had the Avocado toast with tempeh for $16. It was good an a full meal. We enjoyed a leisurely conversation and only got a slightly annoyed side eye from the person feigning work on a lap top. Take that stink eye to the library. I always imagine these folks are wannabe screenwriters desperate for material scrapped together from bits of conversation. The arc of topics must have been fruitful for said wannabe as there were plenty of place to move to. A solid HLP place for a casual dining experience. Public parking is nearby for a small fee.

Kitchen Mouse is the best I've found yet for a big vegan and gluten-free menu in L.A. I order the the side of potatoes for the table (it's massive and you can pick your sauce) every time I go, and I wake up in the middle of the night thinking about the mac and cheese. The chilaquiles are fire too. You truly cannot go wrong no matter what you order. I always bring friends and fam here when they visit L.A., and I wish they had more locations! Prepare to wait in line for a while. It's a super popular spot. It's order-at-the-counter, but it can take a bit. There are lots of pastry items in the case, assorted canned and bottled drinks, fresh juices, mimosas. Make sure to also check out the bakery location around the corner from the restaurant for loaves of bread, pastries, etc. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

The most delicious vegan carrot cake I've ever consumed was found at Kitchen Mouse Cafe. Moist, tender, perfectly spiced, and not too sweet. Adorable, convenient, great service, and overall lovely.

A few weeks back my wife and I were walking around after checking out a book store when we ended up grabbing some lunch at the Kitchen Mouse Cafe. This place looks super charming, has a bunch of seating, and a pretty decent sized menu. I made the mistake of ordering the Buffalo Mac N' Cheese without reading any sort of the description and that's something I ended up regretting. I've had a whole lot of vegan Mac N' Cheese in my life, but this one consisted of brown rice macaroni, cashew cheese sauce, yams, collard greens, buffalo sauce, and dill cashew cream. Now, I take full responsibility for not reading the description but I still don't know why it wasn't just Buffalo Mac N' Cheese without a bunch of other crap thrown in. The Macaroni itself was solid enough, but the dish wasn't very enjoyable thanks to the other things that were thrown in there. Overall, I was left disappointed and probably won't be seeking this place out in the future. If you are looking for a vegan spot, the staff here was super friendly and the environment was great, so hopefully you have a better experience than me.

Place is super cute, with a really nice lime green interior. Plenty of space to sit during a weekday morning. I had the huevos rancheros with tofu scramble instead of egg. It was delicious, the amount of sauce was perfect, and the corn tortillas were really amazing.

I accidentally spent 2 hours here lol because it was so peaceful and inviting. I've been here a couple times and both times had a great experience! I brought my puppy the first time and an employee hung out with me for a bit giving her lots of love which I thought was so sweet. It's like one of those darling little cafes that feel like home

Thinking of eating a hearty and filling breakfast ? Say less and go to this place early ! Seats get filled up quickly. We ordered House Pancakes, Mikeys Chilaquiles, Huevos Rancheros, Jo's Breakfast Sandwich. They are all delicious ! Every dish is so fresh ! We love the ambiance and it's a great place to catch up with friends.

Very cute atmosphere in the interior!

Really cute place and an all time classic for the Highland Park neighborhood. The vegan options are abundant despite it only being a vegetarian place. My one hang up after coming here for the last 9 years is that the food can be a bit on the high sodium side and the prices are a bit steep for what you're getting. The value used to be there and allowed me to frequent the restaurant, but now it is more of a special occasion meal. I highly recommend checking out the moros cakes!

I've been coming for years and it's never been a bad experience. It's always a good time and good energy, environment. I don't know her name unfortunately but she's been taking my order for the last 6 weeks or so. Tall, cutie, always lovely and great energy and gets my long and specific order correct. Lastly the food is always a hit. Shout out to all staff for the service, experience, food.

This cafe was so cute and all vegetarian with many vegan and gluten free options. Some members of my group who were not vegetarian did not love it, but I thought it was great to have so many options! Very cute, service was as expected.

Loved everything about this cafe! My sister and her dog Brax a regulars here, and she's been telling me I had to try it! The shop is adorable, there's plenty of seating, and they're dog-friendly! They have fresh flowers on each table and lots of plants! My kind of vibe. I got the huevos rancheros, which were DELICIOUS! 10/10! Each bite was perfect, and I cleaned the whole plate! My sister got the Burger Bowl Salad, which she says is her go-to! Both dishes were beautifully plated! I didn't get anything to drink, but there was a complimentary water station in the back (clutch!) I'd definitely come back here! Great vibes, delicious food, and socially buzzing! I regret that I didn't try their coffee, but that just means I have to come back! Totally Recommend!

My friend is a vegetarian, so we went to a restaurant in Highland Park for dinner during Restaurant Week, which was $45 per person. The menu looked great, so we decided to give it a try. They specifically mentioned that we didn't have to order from the Restaurant Week menu, which allowed us to try a variety of other dishes. The food was excellent, and their unique sauces made the vegetarian dishes even more flavorful. It felt healthy without being overly vegan. Overall, it was a great experience. We loved the reasonable prices, the cozy atmosphere, and the fact that the restaurant is only open on Fridays and Saturdays until 9 p.m., and closes at 4 p.m. the rest of the week. They also offer a happy hour, though parking nearby can be a bit tricky. Overall, it's a great spot for vegetarians.

I won't be ordering this dish again. I took half home, cut up the soybean fish and added it to a stew. I didn't mention to my server that it was my bday, but was disappointed that he didn't even offer like regular servers do, "Would you like to see the dessert menu?" I didn't tell him it was my bday nor did I ask for the dessert menu bc I wasn't the one paying the bill. Not that I needed dessert, but it would've been nice to have been asked. When I mentioned this to another server who came by to clear our table that our server didn't even ask if we wanted dessert and that the restaurant doesn't seem to want to push its desserts, he quickly brought us a dessert menu, but my friend was already paying our bill - too late! It would've been nice to be asked earlier. I even had candles in my bag just in case we got dessert. Anyway, this server said he'll tell our server about not offering dessert. The next day I came back with another friend after a Music Center event. My server from the day before recognized me. This time he asked us at the start before we ordered or after we had just ordered whether we'd like to see the dessert menu. Huh? Ask at the END not start of a meal! Instead of embarrassing him, I told him, "No, thanks. My bday was yesterday." On this second day, my friend and I shared a Chinoise salad (delicious and refreshing!) and paella (not like a paella, a little too wet and granular for our taste, but healthy - a living food dish). We had mint and lemon water for both meals. $12 parking in the adjacent structure. Free parking passes at the Music Center if you're a season ticket holder or good luck with finding street parking. I'd still continue to occasionally patronize this restaurant when I have Music Center events bc I want to support veganism, the restaurant; however, I was disappointed with some of the food and waitstaff this weekend. I'd suggest that the waitstaff go thru customer training on when/what/how to talk to customers. He's vegan, and I'm currently following a plant based diet, so it seemed like a perfect fit. We actually found the restaurant after looking on the app InKind (highly recommend btw!), specifically for places with vegan food. They have a parking lot on the side of the building. Not many spaces but grateful for the option! They have seating outside and inside, and I guess inside is both "restaurant" or "dining room." Not sure the difference, but we sat at a table close to the window which was nice. The inside decor is really cute. Beautiful string lights, cookware on the walls, and there was even an old movie playing on a projector. It felt pretty authentic and adorable. Servers were very attentive. We had Adi and he was really sweet. We were brought water right away. And they serve fresh vegan focaccia bread with a DELICIOUS pesto sauce before your meal. Honestly, that pesto is something I want to take home and drink. So good. We decided to both order from the vegan menu. When else can you get fresh vegan Italian?! We got their version of vegan carpaccio as an appetizer. Which was oddly turkey based? (Vegan of course). But truly one of the most unexpectedly yummy things I've had in awhile. The mayo type sauce on it was delicious. The lettuce and capers were a great touch. And it had some sort of mustard stuffed olives that I could eat forever. My fiancé got the lasagna as a main. And I got the pesto spaghetti. Ironically I ended up liking the lasagna more and he liked the spaghetti so we swapped haha. Both were delicious. As someone who isn't vegan and loves meat and cheese, I can confidently say that lasagna was one of the best I've had in so long. At the end they treated him to a delicious small vegan ganache cake and a birthday candle. It was simple and appreciated. The only negatives I have is that the wine was pretty pricey for the bottles they had. And even though I requested a booth (they had several open), and mentioned the birthday in the reservation, I had to repeatedly mention the birthday, and we got seated at a table. Little things, but still something I wish was different. Overall will definitely go back though!

HIGHLY recommend the thousand layer potato's and spicy lumaconi

We had the crispy rice, nachos with beef added on top, and the vodka pizza which is one of my favorite vegan pizzas to date. We also got the noodles (non spicy ones) and the brownie with ice cream OMG, amazing. Our waiter, cannot remember his name unfortunately, was fantastic. Very attentive and gave great suggestions. Overall, 10/10, will definitely be back!!

The chicken stays crispy for a long time and reheats nicely as leftovers. Everything we've ordered is really good and crave-worthy. We got the lucky catsu, curry catsu, crispy shrimp, spam masubi, catsu masubi, orange chicken, crispy chicken. Top two favorites are lucky and curry catsu. Small things I'd personally wish to change is that the onion is too strong in the macaroni salad. Wish it wasn't in there period. And the rice is a little on the dryer side and it sticks to the container- so when you scrape up the last bits of rice, you could be eating the paper from the container. I like that they use compostable containers though!! But yeah the rice is on the harder side especially as leftovers. But whatever, their main items are bomb and makes me not care about anything else. Service is quick! Note: it is not a sit down restaurant. You order (ahead) and park on the street and call them to let them know you're outside. They'll bring the food out. Reception isn't great outside fyi. I've been here 3 times and never last long enough to get a photo before digging in. There are two other vegan restaurants right next to it, same concept - order and pick up. Great for different options if one is craving Mexican from Cena or hot dogs from All franks.

To be very honest, I love this place so much. I am currently sad because they are not open. I've…read morebeen looking every day to see when they will open back up from the macaroni to the spam. Anything that you get here is good.

The cafe itself is beautiful and cozy, and the whole team was incredibly kind. Our server honestly made the experience even better. He was so friendly and genuinely excited about the menu, took the time to explain everything, and gave us great recommendations based on what we were in the mood for. You could tell he really cared about making people have a good experience. The food and coffee were amazing, super flavorful and satisfying without feeling too heavy. It ended up being one of our favorite stops during our trip. Huge thank you to everyone there for making our day so special.

Everything was spotless, calm, and full of genuinely lovely people. The service was so warm I briefly considered asking if I could move in. I ordered a latte, the Caesar tempeh wrap, and a bowl -- and somehow every single bite tasted like it had been blessed by woodland fairies with culinary degrees. Flavor? Absolutely out of this world. But the BEST part? The names of the dishes. "I Am Well," "I Am Grateful," "I Am Light"... and when your server brings your food they lovingly announce: "You are well." Honestly, being affirmed by a stranger while handed organic vegan food healed at least 37% of my problems. I came for lunch and accidentally left spiritually moisturized. If you want delicious fully vegan organic food, positive vibes, and the experience of being gently complimented by your salad, this place is IT.
