Finally had a chance to try Kitchen Tales for lunch. I gave it 3-stars because it's all "OK"...not excellent, but absolutely not bad at all. Food: I had the Chicken Fried Steak lunch special - for $10 you get a hearty portion of CFS, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans and a soft drink/tea. The unsweet peach iced tea was really one of my highlights - it's really delicious! CFS breading was very nice, but nothing in the meal really stood out in comparison to other CFS I've had in the area. My husband had the Shrimp & Grits - they were good, but nothing that stands out in the crowd. I've read some reviews on the lamb, so would go back again and try that for dinner. Service: Our server was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu and the preparation of the food. Atmosphere: They have done a nice job to make this not feel like you're in a run-down strip center. The music was just the right level and they had a fun "bast from the past" playlist of 80's and early-90's ballads. It's hard to get past looking out the windows and seeing giant billboards for a mattress store and meat market, but will go back at night when it's dark and see if the whole vibe feels different. read more

First of all, YUM! This place is so good from the food, the service, portions and everything in between. My husband and I had lunch here which included the chicken fried chicken (best ever) and a soup & salad...all of which were delicious! The mashed potatoes are the best ever! My mother and I came for breakfast. She had eggs Benedict and I had the French toast. Went with my boyfriend to try out the food here yesterday. Upon walking in, the atmosphere was really nice and very quiet for lunch. We decided to get a couple of meals and split it so we could both try some of the stuff on the menu. We ended up getting a chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and side salad and a pork chop with a baked potato soup. I don't typically eat salads, but the cilantro pesto dressing that was on it made it so delicious that I could have eaten the whole thing. The baked potato soup was also very good. A little too over seasoned for me- so by the end it was hard to finish, but if it had been a smaller portion I would have finished it. The chicken fried chicken was crunchy and fresh. The gravy added a nice flavor to it. The mashed potatoes were also buttery and perfect! The pork chop was also amazing. It pulled apart without the use of a knife and was tender to bite. The sauce was the best part. A mixture of sweet and savory- the apples added a nice bite. The portions of both were astounding, even for ordering off the lunch menu. Wow am I happy about my delicious meal. I got the ginger sesame salad with grilled chicken. One of the best salads I have had. Nice choice of mixed greens, flavorful dressing, crispies on top was a nice crunch and the chicken was cooked to perfection. Went there this morning for breakfast with our Montgomery family...I will be thinking about the Eggs Benedict for a LONG time...absolutely delicious. The deep fried mashed potato cakes served as a base for the perfectly poached eggs. The hollandaise sauce was rich and tasty with just the right amount drizzled over the eggs. Crispy bacon was crumbled over the eggs and it was quite the bite. ......absolutely incredible. Our server was Grayson...very friendly and engaging...such great service!! This restaurant has a unique menu and the food is very flavorful with great combinations of food that you never knew went so good together until you tried it. Plates that inspire you to try to replicate them at home!! It's one of those spots you want to try multiple times because so many items sound so good on the menu. And they are! I was also surprised at the generous portions the first time I went. We have tried a lot of different items but our favorite appetizer is the spinach artichoke dip - don't skip adding the crab! My family loved the chicken fried chicken and chicken fried steak. The Mac and wings are good! Lobster Mac was life changing! Ginger salad was refreshing and got my kid to finally try a salad with a fruit on it lol. Someday I will save room for dessert because they have a pecan cobbler I've been dying to try. Very disappointed. Service was great. Nice efficient and helpful. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre and chintzy. First there are no substitutions for potatoes or grits on the breakfast menu except fruit at an upcharge on an already pricey menu. Low carb? Too bad. Second the avocado toast is just a smear of guacamole, not the layer ofvsluced avocado I'd expect; fortunately the waitress warned me. Third, I ordered the waffle. Advertised as with blackberries, it came with 3. The bacon was cold greasy and overcooked. The waffle tasted stale, almost spoiled. As we walked in, there was a great vibe with great 80ish music such as Hall and Oates, Genusis, etc. Simplisity and clean through out this modern day kitchen. The decor is great but it lacks something - not sure what - it's a shame because the food is great! Service was ok feels like the wait staff is literally waiting for something to happen. Also they disappear a lot into the back area and you look around and it's only patrons. Almost like they need a hostess. But for the food definitely worth a try! Get it with the corn (fried) and extra white gravy for your mashed potatoes and you'll be in for a great meal! Our waiter was very pleasant and helpful.
