Been a while since we have been to Kizl's because we were not happy with service quality but decided that today we would give it another try. We were pleasantly surprised. We walked in and were quickly seated. As soon as we were seated the staff approached with drink and food orders. I ordered one of the breakfast specials the huevos rancheros. It not only was picture perfect but also tasted amazing. Every ingredient tasted fresh and delicious. And when the bill came the next surprise was the reasonable pricing! It was $10.95 for my perfectly crafted breakfast! We will definitely be adding this back into our breakfast rotation

I'm sorry but 2 stars because the waitress and service was great. Walked in and the restaurant was packed so I thought this place would be good. I ordered stuffed French toast which looked really good when it came out but it wasn't anything I'd come back for. Also ordered hash browns with potatoes. No for me today

Loved this place for breakfast! Prices were great, service was on point, hash was more corned beef than potatoes! Don't live nearby but if I did, this would be a regular breakfast spot ! You could tell there are a lot of regulars and the servers care about them. An older couple walked in and the server confirmed what they wanted by saying it to them ..."and you want onions added to your hash browns, right ? " Nothing to complain about here for breakfast!

Grinder after opened up and re plated. This is one of the grinders which is close to 12" as stated.

Hello, Joe Turbo here. This family restaurant has been at this location for quite a while. I had been here years ago, met the owner/chef, who made pierogis every 2 weeks or so. If you were lucky you got an order. My brother (God Bless his soul) and I had stopped for breakfast. We talked to the owner (now retired) and he went to the kitchen and brought out a Polish Plate. (I don't think he even charged us for it!). Wonderful, like mom used to make. I had heard people from out of state would come here, but if Kizl's ran out of pierogis, they turned around and went home. Too bad they did not stop for the Philly steak grinder, which I have had many times. Always a tasty delight. Way reasonable priced and delicious. I put their grinder way above any of the chain Grinder Shops.

The beef stew was not bad. $6.95 with a roll as an extra. Filled me up. The ambience is dated, but there is plenty of room for friends and family. The staff was nice. The service was fast. Not far from 84 and ESPN. Lake Compounce is a stone's throw away. I'm satisfied. The food stuck to my ribs. That's all I can ask for.

Stopped in last night for dinner with the wife. She ordered the Pork Osso Bucco special, I went with a kielbasa & sauerkraut sandwich. My sandwich was OK, but she really liked her Osso Bucco, it was very tasty. We had a mozzarella appetizer before our meals (like we always do, best mozzarella sticks around). Service was stellar again.

I am pleasantly surprised. I read the Yelp reviews and I was unsure if I was making a good decision. Really quaint and pretty restaurant. A lot of pop art displayed around the restaurant and the booths are shaped like seashells. I had the nicest waitress. She was very accommodating and super friendly. Everything was prompt and served with an upbeat attitude! Prices were super fair. Two breakfasts and two coffees came in just under $20. I would go as far to say that the prices are family friendly! I would think this place is a good option for people visiting Lake Compounce! I had the apple pancakes and Canadian bacon! Both were very enjoyable. I would recommend this place for breakfast!

Great family friendly place! The interior is a bit outdated but typical for a diner. The booths are big enough for car seats and for a good amount of people in them. The dessert case features huge, delicious looking pies and cakes topped with fresh fruit. Our waitress was so kind and understanding when it came to my wily toddler. The prices were fare for my two meals; $5.25 for a healthy tuna salad with a great house vinaigrette plus $3.75 for a 2 Egg Breakfast that my toddler loved. The only expensive item was the Diet Coke.

A beautiful night under the stars ! The welcome host was sweet and even was able to let me sit inside ( after I had originally reserved outdoor seating ) even Our waitress was super sweet she came quickly got our drink and food orders , told us the specials and made sure we had everything we needed . To start we ordered the genie wish and the royal rose served over dry ice ! Presentation on point .. however the drink itself was okay . The house bread was really good super soft and fresh. While we aired for our entrees we explore all the restaurant looking at all the decor ( 10/10 ) and went to the rooftop where it was mamma Mia themed and one of the waitress was so nice and took a picture of us with the decor ! For my entree I got the chicken parm , the portions were large , and the food was good in my opinion ( not the best I've had but definitely not the worst ) What I loved the most was for desert the server came over with a whole tray of deserts and we can choose which to order ! Which was great ! We chose the amaretto cheesecake and it was amazing!! And normally I don't like cheesecake but this was sooo delicious!!! Highly recommend And to finish it off they offered a small Dubai chocolate shot to end the night ! Which was the perfect way to end the night ! Overall 5/5 this is the place to go if your looking for beautiful ambiance , a fun night out , service was fantastic and food was good ( a little pricey but worth it for everything you are getting in my opinion ) 100% I will be back for the fall decor !!! Can't wait

The price for takeout for these (3) things were on the high side to not include a side salad. With that said, we were aware that those weren't included as it wasnt listed on their online ordering. We just figured the portion for both Entrees were likely larger and thats why you paid a la carte for the salad. We come back home with the takeout and to our surprise for quite a high price, the portions were small. How small, each meal fit with pasta inside a plastic container, similar to those used for Asian takeout. For any other restaurant that serves Chicken Parmigana, its always been a larger round metal dish with pasta on the side. Typically with 2 pieces of chicken. Putting portion aside as one can argue that we may have been able to find that out before ordering, the (2) entrees were not great. The Chicken Parmigana had one piece of chicken and the chicken was charred, dry, minimal amount of cheese and the both the chicken and pasta itself had a scarce amount of pasta sauce. I found myself having to scrub the side of the dish for any sauce left. The lemon bay chicken was also quite dry and unfortunately the mixture of recip (chicken, pasta and sauce) was quite tasteless. I'm not typically one to leave a 1 or 2 star reviews often, as I'd rather just not go again to the place where I had said experience but between the quality of food, price and portion, this place falls into a bit of an exception for me. Look, I've eaten at many places, if your portions are going to small for the price (and without sides), then the quality needs to EXCEED the excepted regional standard for that dish to justify that reasoning. This experience did not do that, instead we are left with half of take home container of each meal that we will have to toss in trash for Fathers Day.

Apps came out before drinks and the food was super quick overall, service felt a bit slower but everyone was still very helpful, and friendly. The cacio e pepe was a little too peppery for me but maybe that's the point, the chicken cutlet was perfect...crispy and juicy and the meatballs had a great little kick. Ended with the cheesecake that was rich and creamy, wish there was a bit more crust. Overall, great vibes and I'd definitely be back to try something different

I don't know who these other people are bashing this restaurant like DAWN H. I would ignore her review. Not very accurate these days. Notice that she gives every other venue a one 1 star too. It is like a botanical garden. The service was superb too. Everyone was served professionally and in a timely manner. We didn't sit inside so there could be noise issues.
