I love this place and the food is good, good burgers and good sandwiches. The mozzarella wedges are a bit overpriced but are probably the best I've had in quite some time.... But.... for the crying out loud.... don't f'n charge me for a side of honey mustard sauce for my chicken sandwich, two side that are maybe a few tablespoons each and you charged $1.50 not a whole lot but more than is necessary... honey mustard is pretty common side for chicken sandwiches I believe. Factor your condiments into your prices so if someone wants a side of ranch or other sauce to compliment your yummy food you don't have to upcharge. Without the upcharge bs you would have had 4.5 stars but without 1/2 star possibilities it drops to 3. read more

Love this spot for the food. Excellent burgers and salads. There is one waitress though that doesn't seem to fit with the place. Welcoming? No. She is assertive (I'm being kind) and direct (definitely) and acts as though she is doing you a favor by taking your order and serving you. She also seems to hold court with other members of the staff. Who needs that? We don't go there nearly as often as we used to, mostly because of her, which is unfortunate because other waitstaff are terrific and the food is great. read more

Went there tonight for burgers and ate at the bar. The beer was nice and cold, but after that everything else was BAD. The bartender wan't listening and wrote down the order wrong. We ordered onion rings for an appetizer - they came out COLD about 20 minutes later and at the same time as the burgers we ordered. We ordered the KKaties burgers medium, waited 20 minutes, when we got them they were obviously frozen patties that were burned on the fry grill. I literally pulled my burger apart to see if they had put bacon on my burger because the bottom of the burger was as hard as cold crispy bacon. The fries that we got with our burgers were also COLD. We have been to KKaties here a few times before but has been a while. I don't know if it is just because it is Sunday evening but this place seems to have gone WAY downhill. read more

Not great, Not Terrible. As far as burgers go? Middle of the road. It was a takeout experience. Had the blue burger and sweet potato fries. Burger was surely not frozen but I hate the pink or no pink option.. I would have probably enjoyed it a little more if it were medium rare, but honestly the meat itself sorta had no taste. The lettuce was the root ends , no leaf so that made for a sloppy eating experience - though juicy , i ended up peeling out the lettuce stalks ( more like celery stalks) and munching. Sadly the blue cheese was so mild I could barely taste it was on there and the caramelized onions were just sauteed onion slices. Sigh. I just really love burgers and I hate laziness. For the price I honestly expected to love this joint. Nice looking bar too. The space is cozy but somewhat open and the staff was vey professional and accommodating. So ordered a steak burger with fixings. Meal came and burger was no where close to what was ordered. 30 seconds later waitress is back with a burger that they took from another order. Not a steak burger and not cooked as ordered. They take burger back and just reheat it until it was cooked. The SAME wrong burger. Manager comes puts bill on table without saying a word. Although I use Yelp regularly, this is my first review. We were visiting from out of town and a group of us went here for trivia night. It was a fun experience and I can say that given the crowd, the service was excellent. The trivia was very fun and the group enjoyed itself for the evening. Where the experience fell short was the food. Most of the group was dissatified with their burgers and a couple of us even said it was one of the worst burgers we had ever had at a restaurant. The burgers were dry and tasteless even with the toppings that were included. They seem to be friend in a pan rather than grilled. The sides of fries and fried beans etc people got were good and received positive comments. The selection of beers was very good and served full and cold although a bit pricey. Next time we will go there for trivia and perhaps have an appetizer and beers. I would rather save money and get a burger at McDonalds or BK. read more

If you are placing an order around 6 30 pm, you might as well order the Breakfast Burger because that is when you will be getting it. I never realized Burgers where so time consuming to make. I mean how hard is it to cook a Burger in less than an hour. I got a sour taste in my mouth during the hour and twenty minutes I had to wait for my food, so it was hard to enjoy the Burger. So bummed - I honestly hope the owners read these. We've been coming to Kkaties since it opened and the food WAS amazing until the past 3 visits. We thought once was maybe just a bad night but it got worse. Tonight the food was un-edible. Burgers ordered medium were raw and completely tasteless. Truffle fries were not cooked and even my favorite buffalo tots were soggy and gross. We used to look forward to family night but unless it goes back to the way it was - it's off the list for good. I would expect a burger bar to be able to cook a burger. Send the cook to my house for training because he unfortunately can't cook. Cooking Bacon is a basic life necessity but I also don't eat raw flabby bacon. I never complain in Restaurants so I simply covered my food with a napkin and asked for the bill. The waitress did take my meal off the bill. It wasn't expected and not her fault - since eating in restaurants is like gambling sometimes you win sometimes you lose and sometimes you just don't go back to the table with a shitty dealer. We were disappointed after our visit to KKatie's burgers on Friday night. The restaurant was not super busy when we arrived at 6 PM and we sat at the bar. We had placed our order and after 40 minutes of waiting we inquired about our appetizer only to find out the order had not been placed so we canceled it. Our burgers arrived a few minutes later. Though my husband's burger was ok,mine was dry and the bun was burnt. KKatie's specializes in burgers and this is specifically why we went there. I used to love this place. The food was always cooked as you liked it and it came rather quickly (10-15 minutes tops). Last night was probably the last nail in the coffin though. I haven't been in a few months since two repeat visits where I received raw/rare burgers (first I ordered medium rare, second medium) but last night my father really wanted to go. We were immediately sat right after a four top but all the other tables were already full with most of them having their food in front of them so we figured it would be pretty quick. We ordered drinks and two burgers and then patiently waited, time kept going by and still no food, about 25 minutes in our waitress acknowledged the delay saying the kitchen got slammed. At this time my father mentioned the last few times he had been it had taken longer than 30 minutes to get his food and that was why he was also starting to go elsewhere even if further. The burgers finally came out just a few minutes after the waitress had told us of a delay (did they forget the order?) and were delivered but no silverware was ever placed at the table. I really hope I just drew the straw these past few times because I do like their Plymouth location and plan on trying their Quincy spot but I probably will not return to this location for some time. read more

Been here a couple of times. Burgers are great! First time I got the burger that had a sunny side up egg and bacon on it, the second time opting for a mushroom and Swiss burger. Greasy, but most burgers made with 100% beef will be on the greasy side. Both times I "upgraded" over fries and went with the homemade potato chips, which are addictively delicious. The smaller tables, where you end up if you're a party of 2, are very small and uncomfortable. It's just a very awkwardly narrow table top. So that's one draw back. And the service, while friendly, is slow. I wish I didn't have to wait so long to get a refill on my drink. The drawbacks are not enough to keep me away from going there again. Like I said, the food is delicious and servers are perky and friendly. But I also can't give it a higher rating than 3. I don't see the seating arrangement improving. It's a small tight space...it is what it is. But I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume the service improves with time. read more

There's not many places on the South Shore to get a delicious burger without it being borderline fast food (I'm looking at you, Five Guys), so I was pretty excited to find out about a new burger bar that also has a pretty great selection of beers and cocktails as well! Like others have mentioned, yes, it is a bar, so space is pretty limited. Family friendly? Ehh, they're there, but definitely better for a night out with a couple of friends or a casual date night. Some of their burgers you may have seen before, but there's also some that may take you by surprise. The Hell Burger did not disappoint me as I shed some tears from the heat, and I most recently tried the Hawaiian Burger. I was hesitant about mixing fruit and meat (it's a texture thing) but I knew I could count on the crunchiness of the bacon to make it all better. Their sides are not your average sides, too. In addition to your standard fries (potato, sweet potato, or truffle) or onion rings, they offer a few different options for tater tots as well. I opted for the "loaded" tater tots with cheese, bacon, scallions, and sour cream. When in Rome, amiright? Their beer selection could make any beer lover happy while their cocktail menu is as equally creative as their food menu. I stuck with a blood orange tequila fizzler, but saw numerous diners order a s'mores martini that was served with inflamed marshmallows. My only negative experience at KKatie's has been when a band is playing. Since the restaurant is so small, it is nearly impossible to hear what the person across from you is saying. Honestly, I'm not quite sure what the need is to have a band here considering the atmosphere, but I couldn't get out fast enough when there was one. After driving by for a year we finally decided to stop in for a burga. I thought that the menu itself was absurdly huge ( as in physical size ). The appearance of the bar ( we sat at the bar) was pretty disgusting. It was very messy and there was what appeared to be a broken unfixed junk drawer facing the customer along side with shelving that looked very messy and unclean. I wanted to leave but didn't want to drive somewhere else so we ordered. The curly fries were excellent. I wasn't crazy about my burger and paid extra $1 for mushroom- 3 tiny mushrooms and had to complain about it. They took the $1 off my bill and had attitude about doing so. The burger itself was ok, too mushy and big for me, and bland with no flavor. The service was ok, but due to the overall experience, especially by the cleanliness of the bar, I would not go back. read more

Once, I dine in and was seated right away, but didn't get service till 20 minutes later. it took another 20 minutes for them to take our order and other 20 minutes to get our food. The dine in area is so small that you will bump into someone even in your seat. The takeout is not good at all. The food is all nasty and ugly looking when you pick it up. I saw they had a veggie burger on their menu so i am always happy when I see restaurants have that option. Their spicy bean burger was just a Morningstar spicy bean burger. I was somewhat disappointed with that a restaurant doesn't make their own version of a veggie burger. My husband had a regular burger which is made with Angus beef. He said it was excellent. We went with an order of truffle fries which was $5.50, which is half the price of the burger. They just had some truffle salt on them, definitely not worth 5.50. Regular fries come with your 9.99 burger so just stick with those. We got there at 4;30 on a Sat night and it was pretty crowded. We were able to get seats at the bar which is our first preference. By 5:00, people were waiting for a seat and it's just a burger place (mostly) so I guess the Angus burgers might be worth the wait. If you are looking for a great veggie burger, Cask and Flagon just down the road has a great one. If you are interested in trying a restaurant, always try it. What one might dislike, you might like. Use reviews as a guideline to get there early or what not to try (such as $5.50) truffle fries. read more

The food here is good but the management seems inexperienced and frazzled. When I tried Katie's a few months ago, the bar was not open seating (weird right?). So although we were told to wait for a seat, other people were walking in and right up to the bar. To his credit, the host did try to remove them, but really I wasn't wanting to be that person. I had been here once before when it opened and I thought the menu had been designed by someone with serious delusions, but the menu appears to have been downsized and cleaned up big-time since then and made very appetising (and the ingredients in the burgers make sense). MOST IMPORTANTLY TO MY VISIT, THE CHEF NAILED A MID-RARE COOK ON MY BURGER!!! If you're not an eater of low-temp meat, this is usually a difficult temperature to hit, especially with resting time considered; I almost never *actually* get a mid-rare cook, it's always mid-well or well-done by the time it gets to me and that, frankly, pisses me off because it makes me feel like they don't care about my burger. This chef clearly cares about his job and likes doing what he does. For the record, I had a California burger with jalapeños on it and curly fries on the side. I had it with a Rivalry Brewing "Night Swimah" wheat beer - a pleasant change from my visit before, when all they had were almost to the letter all IPAs (which I can't stand). All parts, including the pickle, were excellent. It's been over an hour and I'm still psyched about that burger. How was the food? Dunno. Never got our food. Long story short we had a waitress on a Sunday at 730pm spend more time chatting with other staff outside than taking care of us at the bar. The bar had all of 9 people including us. This was a quiet Sunday. Fun fact - While waiting for drinks that didn't come I learned that kkaties empty wine glasses balance easily on empty corona bottles and looks great decorated with straws. The gentleman next to us and couple to our other side that both came in long after us seemed to enjoy their meals while we sat waiting for 45 min for medium rare burgers with empty glasses in front of us the whole time. Once fully dehydrated and starving we decided to ask for our check to go find food elsewhere. Management made the mistake of telling me that they were doing me a favor not charging for our food. I reminded them rather quickly we never received any!! Then they blamed the issue on something about a "green" staff and printer issue before we left. This was really unprofessional. Throwing your staff under the bus never works. Customer service 101. Went to the 99 in Pembroke and in the time it took to write this received our delicious burgers served by happy attentive staff and are shaking off the horrible service. read more

We like the food - which brings us there but what keeps us there is the bar service. We like to sit at the bar. The service has a wide variation. If the bartender Sheila is there - just go home, don't chance wasting your money. The food isn't worth putting up with the attitude, rude behavior and grumpiness. Another regular bartender (don't know her name) longer hair, has a tan, and some what blonde - great sense of humor and spiffy service - we will stay longer if she is there. With good service, any mistake or problem can be overcome with a customer and we hope our favorite bartender is at the bar more often. read more

Very dissatisfied with my experience at KKatie's Burger Bar this evening. The wait was tremendously long and service was painstakingly slow as well as disorganized. When we arrived, the table lacked necessitates such as silver ware and napkins that were only brought to us upon request. We waited forty-five minutes for two orders of burgers- which did not taste up to par. The joint didn't seem too busy, so it was frustrating to be waiting an outrageous time to get assistance from a waiter. We had to flag down an employee after sitting around for the check for nearly a half hour, and then another 15 minutes for them to come back and grab the card. If you follow me on Yelp, you know that I hardly EVER dish out 1 star reviews. That being the case, I hope that other Yelpers and/or KKatie's of Marshfield takes seriously the issues raised in my review, and not just brush them off as some grumpy fuss-pot's complaints. From the moment we walked in, our experience at KKatie's of Marshfield was doomed. We've gone to the Plymouth location many-a-time, and since we were in the area, reached for a known favorite. Just inside the door, we stood awkwardly for several minutes while we waited for someone to greet us-- do we seat ourselves? do we wait? Totally unclear. When we were finally seated by one of the staff, it was on one of the tiniest two-seater high tops I've ever seen-- yes, even smaller than the two tops at the Plymouth location. The menu here is replicated from the Plymouth location, including all the Paleo/GF options. I quickly decided upon the House Salad with an added on burger patty. Jamie ordered the buttermilk chicken sandwich with fries, and we started with an order of the "green fries" (plain green beans, fried like traditional potato-based fries). The green fries came out quickly, and were nice and hot. A lot more greasy than I remember, but we still devoured them with ease. Entrees were served a little after we finished the appetizer--not too long of a wait. However, Jamie's entree was served with sweet potato fries, which he doesn't care for, and the lettuce on my plate was almost entirely yellow and cut into these ridiculously sized (ginormous) pieces. Jamie opted to just "not worry about" the sweet potato fries because he's like that. My dining experience was downright frustrating. In addition to having to cut almost every piece of yellow, sickly looking lettuce, the dish it's served on is absurdly shallow, and pieces kept flying off the plate, landing not on the table [because, remember, the table is literally big enough only for your plate and your beverage], but on the floor. The burger meat was overcooked (I asked for medium rare), unseasoned, and tasted like aged beef, which I'm pretty sure their hamburger meat is not. Get my drift? Overall, the food was a C- at best. After our meals were through, and our drinks sat empty without any refill for close to 15 minutes, I finally flagged down another waitress, as ours was nowhere in sight. I politely asked if she could please bring us our check. She cleared the table and walked away, presumably to ring us up. NO JOKE 10 minutes later, we still had not seen our waitress, and the second waitress seemed to have completely forgotten about bringing our check. Our table was completely bare while we sat there, twiddling our thumbs. Other staff-- including possibly the manager?-- walked by several times, oblivious to the fact that we were *still* waiting to cash out. Mind you, this is nearly 1/2 hour AFTER we'd finished our meals. Annoyed, and ready to go home, we both left our table, and went to the POS (where they run your credit card) near the entrance/kitchen. A third waitress was there-- we explained that we'd been waiting, but no one ever returned with the check-- and she apologized several times. Both our original waitress and the waitress we'd flagged down for the check stood nearby. Neither apologized or showed any concern whatsoever. Glancing over the check, we saw that they had upcharged us for the sweet potato fries, which if you recall, he hadn't even ordered or wanted. I was so *over* this dining "adventure", that I just said "screw it", paid the full amount, left a 10% tip for poor service (which I never, ever do), and bolted out of there. As a side note, once we left, Jamie told me that the hallway back to the bathrooms is absolutely *slick* with oil and grease from the kitchen and in dire need of cleaning. Almost immediately upon arriving home, I had a queasy feeling in my stomach-- coupled with some other unmentionable symptoms-- which has lasted through til today. Whether that's from all the bad grease or something else shall remain a mystery. tl;dr: 1) inattentive service 2) incorrect orders 3) poor quality of food 4) poor execution of food 5) unacceptable/dangerous/unsanitary floor conditions read more

Love KKaties in Marshfield! Fun food, fun atmosphere, great service! Wide selection of delicious sounding food and beverages on the menu make it impossible to decide within a few minutes, unless of course you have a go-to item every time you dine here. We ordered the Citrus Chipotle Chicken Wings for an appetizer and a Hell Burger and the Pickle Burger as our meal. All were terrific and service was great. If I had to be critical about one thing, it is that it is a small establishment and space is limited during peak times. But the food is worth the visit (and return visits!) read more

Ok, so here's the thing....this place is a burger BAR! It's small and has small tables, this is not a large restaurant. It's a pretty close copy of their Plymouth location, which is also small. But, if you want a seriously great burger with optional tots you have to check this place out. Beers are fresh, some weekend entertainment and enough TV's for sports. I personally have a love affair with their Juicy Lucy burger, a cheese burger with the hot melty cheese in the middle of the burger! Love the tots, the fried mozz is delicious too. Highly recommend KKatie's. We would love to see some outdoor seating next summer, hint hint! :) read more
