Size and Time: Party of 2, Saturday at 4:15PM. Definitely busy at the front of the restaurant. We waited 25 mins to be seated, not bad. We were seated in a booth in the back at the bar. There was only one other group there. We thought, "Sweet! Not crowded at all". I give this category a 4 out of 5 stars. Food: We did the AYCE $31.90/per person. There are a lot of different meats for AYCE. The meat is the most higher quality meats I've encountered at a Korean bbq joint. It also came with 4 unlimited small side dishes. Tonight, they offered Kim chee, bean sprouts, fish cakes and pickled turnips (I think). You could also order other items ala cart that are not on the AYCE menu. Totally a 5 out of 5 stars here. Service: Like I said earlier, there was only one other group in the bar area where we sat. We were promptly greeted by what looks like the owner or manager (an Asian gal, did not wear the same uniform everyone else had on) and was given menus, then the server came and brought water and explained the process. He was great. However, a large group of 15 or so people were seated and that's when we received TERRIBLE service. The server hustled and tried his best but came up short. He was also the bartender. We waited 20 mins AFTER the meats were delivered to receive the side dishes and vegetables. My husband waited another 20 mins for his water to be replenished (yes, we asked in advance). The owner/manager gal walked by our table nearly a dozen and a half times and went straight to the larger group and chit chatted and catered to them. My husband and I received absolute trash service from that gal. It is not above her to refill our water. I rate her 0 out of 5, can confirm. Our server was overwhelmed, there should definitely be more than one server at the bar. He tried his best.. but kept us waiting and waiting.. and waiting. Then we waited some more. Service was 3 out of 5. Overall: food is good, service from the gal was again.. absolute trash. Your best bet is to go with a large party to receive proper service. Party of 2s should look elsewhere. To me, service is an entire vibe.. if I receive trash service, it just takes away from my entire experience. Overall score a 2 out of 5. read more

I came in tonight around 4pm and it was really busy, host was very attentive and got us a seat quick within 10min. We got server ROSE who came in right when we arrived and she went straight to work. We started with lychee shoju and She knew her Shoju because it came out super yummy. We had 4 rounds and she was super quick and with a smile. First we were welcomed in by Troy who let us know he would be our server. He was a huge part of our first experience at this restaurant, he was funny at times and a great server. He made our visit so much more enjoyable. He was very nice, and explained everything we need to know about the food and how it was cooked. We went here on Father's Day. We had never done the cook your own bbq and we were a bit skeptical. We were VERY impressed with our service, the food and the portions. Did I mention it's AYCE and there is quite a selection of meats! I do wish the shrimp was peeled though. We will try this again next time we are in town. The food is excellent, and the service (for the most part) was quite good too. There was a few times when it took a too long to get the grill pan swapped out, and it was pretty charred from all of our cooking on it. It was a good experience cooking all of the food ourselves too. The main issue I have, is that I called THREE WEEKS in advance to make reservations for a friends bachelor party. I reserved a table for 7. The point of reservations, is so that we have a seat/table. We arrived, and they tried to SPLIT our party of 7 into TWO tables, so that we could split the burners. I asked the lady seating us: "Do you not have any tables for 8?" and I was told "no". What is the point of reservations, if they aren't going to reserve a table for you? At first, I just assumed that perhaps they ONLY have seating for 4 in the entire restaurant... so figured, perhaps the problem is that I just didn't understand, and it's my fault. But then, I went to use the restroom before leaving-- and saw that in the back of the restaurant, there are tables that can seat parties as large as EIGHT at the same table. We should have had one of those tables, and the fact that I called in advance and NO effort was made to ensure that we were served correctly, is unacceptable. At the very least, someone should've told me on the phone a few weeks ago-- that it was likely that they'd have to split the tables up, or something. When reservations are made, they should be honored. If you aren't going to honor peoples reservations, that's fine-- just don't say you take reservations. This is an expensive restaurant. Our party spent over $300.00 there, we should have been served better for that price tag. read more

We had a few people come to help us who were great but Joseph's service was remarkable and we enjoyed having friendly side conversations with him. So unfortunately i wasn't able to find any contact information for the franchise KKOKI so I'll have to share it here. We went on a Sunday night, party of 5. The restaurant was slow when we arrived and continued to be slow the two hours we were there. The waitress we had was named Rose. She was friendly. She was extremely slow taking our orders bringing our orders. Sometimes wouldn't even bring things we requested. After ordering 5 orders and being an hour in a half in to our dinner she said that we have reached our limit. She said we had reached our 7 orders because the "cook said so". I don't see a limit of orders on their menu or website only a 2 hour limit since supposedly it is all you can eat...... We had at least 30 min left to order and over an hour before they were closed. She talked to us about how the cook was screaming and cussing at her. Also the last two orders we got were noticeably smaller than the first 3. We went to pay and she made it automatically a 20% tip without us writing down or telling us that. Their policy, which i don't see anywhere, is 6 people or more include the 20% tip. We only had 5 and it was clear that there was only 5 orders not 7 on the receipt. My friend i was with called the manager and the manager gave all these excuses saying oh the cook decides how many orders sometimes and that's weird, rose is everyone's favorite. 4 star because as a family we really love this place, we come often and whenever we have guest visiting we always bring them here. I am such a frequent customer I have notice the inconsistency in the side/veggies. What we love about KBBQ are the sides! I understand that the sides change from time to time but it just seem less and less thought of each time. And This time it seems that they have taken Salad off the menu which is crazy since I look forward to eating something fresh, especially with the all heavy meats were consuming. They are never fully stocked with the veggies that can be grilled. They seem to always be out of something if not everything and can only provide onions. I usually can deal with that since we have a salad but with the salad being gone it does make this experience less interesting. We didn't want to leave a low star just because of this server though because we understand one server doesn't define the business. He was right of the bat just super friendly and personable, he made the experience feel like we were regulars of his. Visited this restaurant for the first time at 3 PM on a Friday afternoon. At first the menu seemed daunting, but Michael, our server, patiently explained everything and was willing to direct us to what we wanted and made it much more understandable. We chose the beef brisket, Hawaiian beef, and spicy pork. The sides were green salad, sliced radishes, green beans, broccoli, sliced potatoes, and kimchi. Michael brought out a large pair of kitchen shears (for cutting larger pieces of meat), tongs for each of us, chopsticks and a spoon. Hubby asked for a fork and they were quick to comply. About 5 min after we ordered our server brought out our food, oil for grilling, and dipping sauces. He explained how to oil the grill. Being someone who enjoys cooking this was comfortable for me, but even my husband got involved in the spirit of fun! The food was good and we enjoyed the all you can eat $23 each(smallest) package and felt it was more than adequate, and hubby is a true carnivore! We had three refills of the different meats and vegetable. We were seated and visited by several friendly staff members. Kkoki is really well known in the Portland metro area, and for us to visit the Salem locations and receive the shitty service that we did was a huge surprise. Our server, who goes by the name of Sherayne, is also their bartender had assumption prior to our group of girlfriends sitting down for dinner. She verbatim said "I smell alcohol at this table, so I'm just letting you guys know I might not be able to serve you alcohol" As a server, you have no right to assume nor predict what your customers will order. The funny thing is, we did NOT order alcohol and asked for WATER AND LEMON for our beverage of choice. So the fact that she made that assumption before we ordered was shitty customer service. Then Sherayne thought that she can step in between the owner and my conversation as we were talking about her shitty customer service proves that she really didn't care for the words that she exchanged with us. The owner, however was a really sweet man. I really appreciate him and the rest of his staff apologizing for Sheraynes actions, BUT that's not their job. Sherayne needs to check herself and know that if she wants to stay in the customer service industry, she needs to change her attitude and approach. read more

It was a terrible experience. My bill was supposed to be around $144; we chose Supreme dinner which is supposed to $35 each with drinks. They mistakenly charged $ 272 and then charged another $144, which is added up over $400. Waitress didn't even bother to tell us. The only reason I know what happen because my bank sends the text. At the end, the manager apologized what happened. At that point, he gave me a copy of a void bill. They are supposed to let the customer know if they mistakenly charged with a void receipt. I had been wanting to go here for months and I finally got the opportunity. My husband is against cooking his own food at a restaurant so he ordered one of the cooked lunch specials. I ordered the all you can eat meal for $24.99 and thought it was delicious and well priced. Well, check time came and the server informed us she would have to charge me for "excessive food waste" since I didn't finish my food. I offered to cook it, box it up and take it home but she said I can't. Mind you I only had the one first round of my all you can eat so only what I couldn't eat from that was left over. After telling her I wanted the manager (eesh, I know it sounds like I'm a Karen but I promise this is not my usual MO) she brought me the check and to my horror, not only had she added the "excessive waste" charge, she had also charged my husband for an all you can eat meal when he had none of it and had ordered his own already cooked meal. The server proceeds to tell us that because he is a part of the table (only the two of us) he has to pay. What would they do if we sat at separate tables?! I asked the server why she didn't mention that when he ordered a meal and she said she didn't think of that. After waiting for over ten minutes for the manager (4 other tables in the whole restaurant were occupied) I was tempted to leave cash for what I actually ordered and leave the restaurant. The manager finally arrived, apologized and removed the extra charges. Never again will I return to this rip off scam. Maybe these were one time mistakes, but I'm not willing to take the chance even if I enjoyed the food. read more
