Saturday late afternoon I stopped by on a recommendation from a "professional diner" friend and had the beef tacos and stracciatella with fresh heirloom tomatoes. Delicious and refreshing! The rooftop view was incredible looking over the intercoastal waters and there was a fresh breeze. I was most impressed by the staff... the lead bartender was great to watch making drinks and entertaining the patrons, Luis and another bartender were helpful with the menu. The view from this place is just spectacular. I would go back just to enjoy the view. We went for the first time to Klaw and it was my birthday. We started at the rooftop bar for Happy Hour, which I would give 5 stars. $12 apps (we got 6 yummy oysters and we also ordered the amazing steak tartare) and $10 cocktails. Cocktails are weak, but very flavorful and interesting. Unfortunately dinner wasn't as impressive. First, please note, THEY DO NOT SELL STONE CRABS as other reviewers claim. They ONLY sell Norwegian king crab and for $208 for just two legs, and I decided to pass. So that meant no stone crabs, then no crabs. We got steak and fish instead, both of which were fine. The steak was requested medium and was cooked very rare. For over $100 we should have sent it back. But I was afraid they'd refire it after slicing, which would be really terrible and then we'd have a bigger problem. The standouts for dinner were the green salad (yum) and the golden sweet potato with stuff on top (also yum). For dessert, we BOUGHT a piece of crunch cake, which was worth the $12 (or so). Wine was fine. All-in-all it was pretty expensive and getting crab is just stupid. So dinner is 2 stars, but score upgraded to 3 thanks to great Happy Hour. read more

To celebrate our recent engagement, we made reservations at Klaw -- and it was an absolutely wonderful experience! The staff were super sweet and welcoming, congratulating us on our engagement. This beautiful establishment by the water offers amazing views and fantastic food! What was supposed to be dinner in the main dining room ended up being dinner on the rooftop under a full moon. My friends and I arrived earlier than our reservation time to be able to enjoy a drink at the upstairs bar, which was lively and full. Once done with our cocktail we headed to our table on the outside area of the rooftop. We started our evening by ordering a dozen oysters, from Massachussets, and a bottle of champagne and before we knew it we were ordering another dozen of these amazingly fresh oysters. We couldn't help but also order the caviar, delicate and delicious, paired well with our second bottle of champagne. Once done we moved on to our mains and we decided to share the steak and the cod along with a side of pan seared mushrooms. The steak was so tender it melted in your mouth as was the cod. Service was exceptional and on point. Friendly and Knowledgable server and provided excellent recommendations all while professional and courteous. On the other hand, The Golden Potato, modestly tucked away among the side dishes, was absolutely amazing! Definitely go for it! The Bluefin Tuna Tataki was also unforgettable, thanks to its delightful combination of textures--crispy and tender, almost melting tuna. The ribeye steak was good, but not exceptional. Absolutely loved this restaurant! What really drew me to pick here was the views, the option of a Saturday happy hour and the lobster roll. They do offer valet for 15$ during the week and 20$ on the weekend. The parking lot was empty so I found the valet to be pricey. We did find some street parking about half a mile away and walked over. I suggest making a reservation, but we did get there for opening time of 5 pm and had no issue being seated right away. The "roof top" has both indoors and outdoors on the 6th floor. We sat outside and was just mesmerized by the water view, they do have fans to help with the heat outside and it's shaded. The happy hour menu had a few items that ranged from 10-12$. We started with some oysters, come with 6. Then we decided to try the beef tar tar and they were split into 2 which was perfect for sharing foe a date, it was very good and not to difficult to eat. I love lobster rolls and got that for an entree and it was so cute and came with potato chips with truffle oil. The lobster rolls was delicious! The tuna tar was perfect! Visited this new steakhouse located in Edgewood overlooking the ocean. Situated inside the old Miami Women's Club, the restaurant is split into two levels - the 4th floor is the restaurant itself and the 6th floor hosts the coastal/floral themed indoor/outdoor bar. We arrived to the venue almost 2 hours early with the idea of sitting at the bar beforehand, but it seems like everyone else had that idea as well because the bar was jam packed. This issue was promptly resolved because they were able to seat us for our dinner reservation early at 7 pm. The decor of the restaurant is moodier than the bar with dark wood tone paneling at the hostess stand followed by green and wood tones in the seating area. The menus are a gorgeous, eye-catching, cerulean color and tropical plants are tastefully displaced all around. Our servers were Nikolai and James, who was in training. They both did a spectacular job and Nikolai made some wonderful food and drink suggestions. I had the tequila based Mother of Miami. I'm not normally a margarita fan, but this was perfect - fresh, bright, and the shishito pepper salt rim was the metaphorical cherry on top. For appetizers, we ordered a half dozen raw oysters and tuna takaki. The oysters came with two unique sauces and while the oysters by themselves tasted marvelous, both sauces were a splendid addition. Then arrived the tuna tartare, which we did not order. I notified Nikolai politely that we didn't order this and without hesitation, he said "no worries, please enjoy this dish while I bring out the tataki". I prefer tataki over tartare any day, but I was grateful for this mistake because it was delicious and I would order it again. Then came the tataki - I am never disappointed by this dish in general and Klaw didn't either. Fresh, tangy, and flavorful. For our entree and sides, my husband and I split the bone in strip, Japanese eggplant, bok choy, and steak fries. The first two were phenomenal and the second two were mediocre. The bok choy lacked any special flavor and the fries were standard. The steak blew us away and may rank as our favorite steak in Miami. The Japanese eggplant looked beautiful and the miso glaze was the perfect touch. We finished the meal with another suggestion from Nikolai - the chocolate crunch bar. Not too sweet, the texture was just right, great serving size, and the scoop of ice cream on the side tied it all together. Didn't leave a crumb behind! Went for happy hour and stayed catching up with friends for a few more rounds of drinks. Although thru fo have a balcony, their seating is indoors so weather isn't an issue. The bites on the happy hour menu are small and still pricey but delicious and worth it. Not one single thing was off key last night; every single component of our dining experience was outstanding from our greeting by the hostess, who promptly gave us all a warm welcome. We started at the "Roof" top bar (6th Floor) for a cocktail during Happy Hour (very cool, drinks priced at $8/$10) and two of us ordered Beef Tartar Toast ($12) and their Beef Tacos (2 for $12, we the tartare). The service was delightful, Danny, our server, truly went the extra mile (we actually had 3 servers check on us within our first 8 minutes). They were clear we had reservations for the testaurant on the 4th Floor and proceeeded accordingly. We did not feel rushed, pushed, they were there to start the experience on the good foot. After all, Klaw's website states "The Adventure is About to Begin," and that, in my book, was an understatement. Note: Somebody likes me, I think... compliments of the "house/friend" we were served a beautiful golden hued Prosecco; Danny got the bottle to make sure I could take a pictur. Let me be clear here, we went because we had checked out their Miami Spice offering and it was hard to believe, but let me tell you, they get it! They get the concept of Miami Spice! Not every restaurant that offers Spice in August and September really put their best foot forward. Yep, they throw on a chicken, a fish and a pasta for whatever money and move on. KLAW provided a killer experience. The menu price point for their 3-course meal was $60.00. I had a beautiful salad (KLAW's green salad with sherry vinaigrette, pecorino, pine nut breadcrumbs). My entree was a delectable Dover Sole & sauce of grilled lemon, butter, capers, golden raisins; my accompanyment was an absolutely delish Chared Bok Choy. That said, the description said: 1/2 Dover Sole, I could not finish... it was a healthy serving. Of course, there is dessert which I really don't care for but opted for sorbet. Two of us had the sole, one had Grilled Jumbo Prawn with the yuzu koshu butter sprinkled with fine herbs; the other had the 10oz NY Strip. The best part about the entire experience, we had the opportunity to "Elevate Your Spice" and order the Norwegian King Crab Leg - 8oz or Norwegian King Crag Leg for $88.00! So we ordered 18 oz and shared. Yep, we did order beverages, I am a real terror when it comes to ordering that elusive Gin Gimlet, but our waiter, asked me a ton of question of EXACTLY HOW I wanted my drink made; he returned with the perfect gimlet and informed me everytime I come back it will be made the same because they have created a file... WHAT??? I am dreaming. Mind you this joint is not in my budget to be a regular, but this is why there is a Miami Spice! Exposure to places you really want to go back to and will make the effort and, in this case, even carve out a budget. I am so excited that my friends and I had such a good experience. This was one of the best dining experiences I have had in years. It is at the Top of my "Scrumpterou Report's list!" A sincere thank you to all the staff that made our evening so lovely. They have a beautiful location, with a separate dining room and rooftop, today we sat in the dining room which has lovely view of the bay and ornate modern Mediterranean decor. I think this is what it was called). it has tequila and so delicious, beautifully garnished and blended. We started with the stratciatella which was divine, the whipped creaminess of the inner Burrata cheese combined with the sweet honey, seasoned, flavorful tomatoes, and fresh basil was really a refreshing and yummy dish. We ordered the Norwegian crab legs, and they were enormous, and I love that this stuff serves them to you hold and then cut them tableside. They are then served in the half shell with the meat ready to eat. It also comes with an herby creamy melted butter. Truly, some of the best I've ever had. We also tried the giant prawns and they were some of the most amazing flavorful and well cooked prawn I've ever had. Charred on the outside and with a amazing creamy sauce and the juiciest lemon. At my server's recommendation of their most similar cut to filet mignon, I also tried the châteaubrionde steak. It came sliced to eat, medium rare and cooked perfectly. It also came with a truffle peppercorn sauce that was rich, flavorful and creamy. For sides, we tried the truffle Parmesan fries, and the carrots, which were delightfully spicy at the end and the fries were a perfect to our main dishes. Came here for a late dinner to celebrate our first anniversary. The staff was excellent and quite attentive. We started with the Norwegian crab legs, which was quite delicious and paired perfectly with their butter sauce. They did all the work for you--so all you have to do is sit, relax, and enjoy the crab legs. This was definitely one of my favorite crab legs of all time. I then had the American wagyu which was tender and full of flavor. We then finished the night with a drink and dessert on their rooftop bar, which had decent views of the city. This is a hidden gem for sure. Definitely try out the happy hour which is very reasonable and has great drink and food options. It can get a little bit busy so try to go early and beat the rush so you can enjoy your pick of seats at the bar. Stellar views of the water, great ambience. Try a couple cocktails, oysters, and mini taco bites that were all great . bartenders were super friendly and knowledgeable not pretentious like most places in Miami. read more

Celebrating our anniversary my husband surprised me by taking me to a nice restaurant I had never been to. It's an elegant restaurant overlooking the Bay. The service was great and the food was delicious! I truly enjoyed every bite and think it's one of the best meals I've ever had. The meat was cooked perfectly to our liking and the king crab melted in our mouths. It's awesome that they crack the shell for you, making eating the crab so easy. The peppercorn and truffle sauce was amazing and a perfect addition to our t-bone steak. The Bok Choy was smoked and the sweet potato were delectable. We got the carrot cake for dessert and loved that it was topped with ice cream and a yummy foam. I gave the restaurant 5 stars because we had an excellent experience even though I thought it was really pricey for the the amount of food we ordered.
