We really enjoyed the variety of sweets from here. We stopped in after hours of shopping and the tea and Knafeh hit the spot. Rich and a bit chewy (cheese!) it was a nice end to the day. This was my first time coming into Knafeh Cafe. It is quite small, but there is a moderate amount of seating available. I did not intend to eat much, but I could not help myself. I took bite after bite and did not end up taking any home. I was so excited to see that they have syrup bottles available to adjust the sweetness of individual desserts. I am a hugeee sugar lover, and I found that the syrup was not needed, so I can't imagine who might use it, but it is available. I cannot choose a favorite item, as they were all so wonderfully aromatic and sweet and crispy. read more

This is my favorite dessert place in all of Little Arabia. I'm not much of a cheese fan... but this place is an exception. They usually have 2 different types on display. You order and then sit in really really tiny tables. I would say it's smaller than a typical local donut shop. Anyhow, one of my must visits. read more

Stopped in to pick up a little knafeh to bring home after running a ton of errands with my kid. I'm not Arab, but I love trying new things and the staff was very helpful in describing what everything was. It helped that everything looked amazing. I ended up with two slices crunchy knafeh which I've had before and two new (to me) items - warbat and hareesh. I also grabbed a frozen coffee and a smoothie. As we waited the staff and manager/owner (?) were so kind to my toddler who was feeling very chatty. Being kid friendly is pretty much a guarantee I'll be back at some point. I took all the food home, planning on savoring these over the next few days, but ended up eating everything same night. It was awesome - easy to heat up and maintain its structure. Warbat might be one of my new favorite things ever. I wish I had gotten more than one piece of that and the hareesh. I can't put my finger on what it is that makes these desserts that should be heavy and rich - sugar syrup, nuts, and cheese - actually feel very light and delicate. I look forward to coming back and expanding my palate even more, and next time I'm going to stay for a coffee. read more

I came across knafeh for the first time at Trader Joe's and I didn't know what it is. But there is cheese, the description says it is crispy and sweet, and I was like let's give it a try. I tried it and love it. And so when I saw this cafe, I really want to try the fresh version. And it was definitely really good, I highly recommend. They are so sweet! The baklavas might be a little bit more expensive than other baklava places around here, but they truly give baklava to the name 'baklava'. Every piece is rather big compared to other places' baklavas. And it's packed to the brim with nuts and syrup. Knafeh is very expensive here though it doesn't taste authentic (I believe it's made w/ cheap cheese to save money, as it's chewy). Cheese BTW is the most significant component of Knafeh & should be quality & hand-picked.   He sells a small portion of "personal Knafeh" for $12, which you can get for $5 or a little more at other reputable middle eastern shops that make excellent/quality Knafeh, such as at Victory Sweets in Anaheim.   The owner Abusir is a very rude person. Noticed that whenever he's rude to you he tries to look rather satirical immediately after that by uttering some funny words thinking you'll forget about his rudeness--what a clown. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE. My bf and I have never tried middle eastern desserts before but wanted to try the crispy and regular knafeh. We absolutely loved them!!! Despite them being primarily made of cheese, we didn't feel gross after eating both in one sitting lol. They were light yet savory and sweet! Such a treat and unique dessert from our usual go-to's. Definitely come try their desserts if you're in the area! Parking was easy as we came in the afternoon but I imagine it can get packed at night. So....... I been wanting to try their knafeh for a while after many people talk about it . What can I say ..... just terrible ! My sister got us some since she lives in the area. First thing I noticed it's very thin, I'm like alright let's taste it . The syrup first of all was so watered down and thin. The knafeh itself the cheese is hardly there and not good quality at all. There was no taste for me at all. It was unbelievably disappointing and BAD ! It was just tasteless and just cheaply made. Really really disappointed and a waste of money. Hopefully we can try some other places in Anaheim. Don't come here with high hopes ..... you can tell in the quality it's very cheaply made and tasteless ! read more

First I must admit that my comparison is based on knafeh from this shop Vs the Lebanese knafeh. Cheese level is about 1/3 of Lebanon knafeh. The top layer tasted dry and stale. Service was ok ambiance is basic but acceptable. read more

Microwave knafeh...no thank you. I am not sure how this place has so many stars because their knafeh is not good. It was not fresh and the guy microwaved the piece I ordered and The cheese was so hard and greasy like cheese gets after microwaving it. There's no where to sit unless you want to sit on a small stool or outside. Go somewhere else if knafeh is what you're craving because this ain't it. I go to Chrome nail bar right next to this cafe on a regular and I've always been curious to try this cafe out. I see that there is always a pretty steady flow of customers so I decided to pull up Yelp today to check out their reviews. As you can see, they've got pretty much 5 stars out of hundreds of customer reviews (many of who seem to be regulars as well). Gave it a shot today and to no surprise, a line! At my turn, the gentleman at the front was so kind and friendly. He even let me know that I should heat it up for 25 seconds since I was taking it home for later and wrote it on the container as a reminder. Here I am, 10:30 pm at night writing this review about how AMAZING the Knafeh was :) Popped it in the microwave for 25 seconds and drizzled that sugar on top and it was perfectly crispy with the delish stringy cheese on the bottom! It was the perfect touch of both savory and sweet! Pleasantly surprised and will definitely be back for more! Thanks for making my night! read more

I had such high hopes for this place but unfortunately I don't think I would return here. First, the hours are very odd for a "knafeh" place. Quite frankly, I have never seen or heard of any Middle Eastern bakery NOT opening in the morning. For this place to open at noon almost every day seems odd. I also made an honest mistake of thinking they were open at noon on Fridays (I misread the time showing "2:00" as "12:00" since every other day had "12:00"). But when I drove by just before 1:00PM Friday, the door was open, worker was inside and a customer was leaving. So I thought "hey they are open let's get some Knafeh!" I looked around hoping to see a big hot tray of Knafeh like you would see anywhere in the Middle East, but when I ordered a piece, the worker just cut from a tray in the display case and tossed it in the microwave right in front of me. I asked the worker when they make the knafeh or when a fresh tray would be made, and he pointed to the large display saying it takes 45 minutes to order a tray. Not what I asked but it was clear he did not understand what I said. As a proud Lebanese-Armenian, I swallowed my pride and wanted to give them a chance, because quite frankly, doing that doesn't mean a customer is going to get a decent Knafeh. I went ahead and started eating and honestly, it was not bad. BUT, it's still pretty easy to tell a fresh Knafeh from a less-than-fresh and a microwaved knafeh. The "stretchy" cheese was just from the knafeh being difficult to cut from cooking in the microwave. The syrup was light and sweet and the crust was crunchy and had a nice balance for the cheese. While eating, an older gentleman (who I presume to be the owner?) came out and asked if I could eat at the tables outside due to the store closing between 1:00-2:00 on Fridays for their prayer times. For the record, this man was very polite and friendly about it and apologized numerous times for the inconvenience. But at the same time, why even open for one hour at noon, just to close for an hour, and reopen again? Why not adjust the times or post it or do something to let customers know that 1 -either the store closes for an hour or 2 - just open the store at a later time (although why it isn't open in the morning I still do not know). In the end, I was not happy or satisfied with this experience. Between the not-fresh knafeh, then being microwaved, and the issue with the store "closing", it was not a great experience or one to make me go back. read more

I know it's all about the Knafeh here after all its name is Knafeh café. However, I am head over heels for their date filled mamoul cookies. So buttery, melt in your mouth, full on date flavor inside. Perfect with a cup of tea. Also like their Hilbeh which is a nice earthy, warm spiced semolina cake (contains anise seed) soaked in sweet syrup. The Hareeseh is also so good a semolina cake that's drenched in homemade syrup & honey.They make their Halawet Jebn very good too which is a sweet cheese dough on the outside with a clotted cream filling in the center called Ashta. Love their Aish Al seraya as well. It's a clotted cream topping with a toast bread bottom that's soaked in orange blossom water. So glad this delicious family owned Palestinian bakery is still going strong in Anaheim. Parking can be tricky if you come at the wrong time, keep circling the lot you are bound to find a spot eventually. read more

But I actually ended up getting 1 of each. The soft one was the better choice in my opinion too. Both needed a bit more syrup for my liking!
