I just found a bug in my food. I am beyond pissed off and grossed out. Back story: I am 36 weeks pregnant and severely malnourished and havent been able to keep any food down, im actually getting an IV tomorrow for it. I had a random thought that I should try eating a chicken salad sandwich from kneaders- its always been a favorite of mine. I got half way through and saw this. Just my luck. I'm so done. I got reimbursed- but that is the LEAST they could do. I'm absolutely livid.

Order at front they bring to your table. Love their fresh sandwiches. I got turkey that was freshly cooked, not deli sliced. Their breads are freshly made, enjoyed whole wheat bread that I had to take a loaf home; flavorful light and great value at $3.29. Best place to get a fresh sandwich with choices of bread. Sell pies, pastries, bread, etc.

Roast beef sandwich with very little beef for 10+$. I don't think I'll be getting that again.

The service is courteous, friendly and relatively prompt. The place is clean. I like the flavor of the food I purchase. But the value you get for the price you pay is questionable. Today I ordered a roast beef sandwich which was 10 and a half dollars. There were more onions on it than meat. Just one thin slice of roast beef made it very disappointing.

First time here, went through the drive thru. It's 9pm and we drove up to the speaker. I couldn't understand what the cashier was saying. She informed me what a veggie sandwich has kneaders sauce. I ordered that and this is what I got. It took me about 20-30min to get home. By the time I bit into my sandwich my bread was soggy and the pink stuff was jelly. I found some jelly smeared on the bag as well. I'm giving 1 star for my experience. With the many bad reviews I'm thinking maybe this place needs more man power.

Just drove across town to spend $55 on sandwiches. Get home and my daughters grilled cheese has no cheese on it. Called they said they could remake it for me. It's freezing outside. Between the price of food, gas to get back there and the Irish happiness of my child used to love Kneaders.

Best sourdough I have found in Utah! Not the fake stuff with vinegar and yeast.

The French toast was incredible, the butter-whipped cream was extreme and the syrup was wonderful. A great breakfast before you go boarding.

Their pastries are fresh, delicious, and made with the finest ingredients. They do not skimp on quality. The level of service is quite good, and the employees are pleasant. If they have more than two customers, they'll generally have someone else come out from the back, to help keep customers happy and well taken care of. :) Schmidt's Bakery is very clean and orderly, and the presentation/quality of everything is great. Most treats are chilled in the glass cases, which is a lovely touch. We find that it's quite difficult to pick just one or two treats per person. I don't have much self-control with these delicacies, so I make a conscientious effort to only stop in like once a month because everything I've tried is just. so. good.

I made a mental note to check it out and then...didn't, for a really long time. Partly because I forgot and partly because that's one of those few places that held memories of a time past and events have largely conspired in a way that they never will (or can) again. So, to my regret, this created a sort of aversion for quite a while. Here and there I'd drive by it and think that it looked open and I should stop, but it can sometimes take a while to overcome hauntings, I suppose. Anyway, I did manage to venture back, to see what they'd done with it. I'm glad they kept it a bakery and didn't even change the signage. It still reads French Bakery, but man, Pierre left some really big shoes to fill. I'm happy to report that though the display cases have been sized down a lot, in terms of what's on offer, what is there is gorgeous and on a level exceeding that of Pierre, which I found kind of mind-blowing. I wound up getting a pretty good selection of stuff and happily, the taste lived up to the appearance. The croissants were moist and flaky on the inside, with the sort of layering effect that only the truly skilled can achieve, while the crust was perfectly golden brown and crispy. The Danish I had was easily the best I've had. Ever. An absolute delight that there is no way I can think of to improve. I'm really thrilled this is still around, though I miss some of my old Pierre favorites (like the breadsticks, but maybe they rotate stuff on different days or something). The inside has changed enough so that it is not a mental punishment when I walk in, which was not intentional, but which I greatly appreciate nonetheless. This is definitely its own thing, while still retaining a lot of charm and stunning quality of Pierre. Definitely, this is a must.
