We called Tyler at Knock em Out about year ago with a pretty serious carpenter ant problem, which he has totally eliminated. He started out with two extensive spraying treatments outside and has kept up monthly follow-up services. The monthly service also includes rat abatement, pest control etc. All of his methods are poison free and not harmful to Owls, Hawks etc. We called another pest control place before Tyler and they told us some DYI option that did not work. This year I had an increase in rat/mice getting into my house, so I decided to contract with a professional service. I strongly recommend that you do not use Knock 'em Out Pest Control. They guaranteed that if I spent $2,450 for their exclusion services that no rats/mice would be able to get in the house. In addition, I also had the monthly preventative spray around the house. For 11 months my house has never been rat/mouse free. They would consistently say that they found another opening which should have been found during the initial inspection and the preventative spray did nothing. I asked for my money back as the problem never got better. They refused because they said work has already been done. So much for a guarantee. The incompetence of this company is extraordinary. Their service is to have the customer pay a large upfront fee, pay a monthly service and absorb property damage and do nothing to solve the problem. Then they say the guarantee only includes areas that they did work on. Coincidently, the neighbor that recommended them to me said they had a monthly service with them. They had a problem with ants which this Pest company could not get rid of and eventually would not even call them back. They contracted with Clark who solved the problem almost immediately. I will be taking Knock 'em Out Pest Control to small claims court. read more

I see all these "good" reviews and I just did not have the same experience. I put one star because at least they showed up. Allen came to my apartment due to the company being an "approved vendor " for the complex I live at to spray for an infestation of silver fish. Allen arrived on a Thursday morning and sprayed the apartment. I had to leave with my pets for about 3 hours is what I was told. When Allen arrived I advised him that nothing had been moved in the apartment and we weren't sure what to prepare for his visit. Allen said he would just be spraying the baseboards and that moving any items wouldn't be necessary and it would be "safe" to come back in about 3 hours. Later that evening I had a ton of questions come arise so I made sure to call Knock em Out as soon as they opened the next day (Friday). I called and spoke with a woman who I am assuming works as the receptionist, who took down my information (which complex I was calling from,apartment number, name and number to reach me) I was told Allen would get back to me. I waited until midday to give them a call back seeing as I wanted to give them ample time to get back me. I have dogs and wanted to know what was used to spray and what we were to expect after treatment. 1pm came along and no call from Allen so I called back and left a voicemail on the machine. The weekend went by and never heard from anyone at Knock em Out pest control. So with my experience, their communication is not there. Me being the customer with concerns to never get a call back is really disconcerting. I have no idea what was sprayed, where it was sprayed other than "the baseboards " and relied on Google for what there is to expect after treatment. read more

Update: Allan (who was the nice guy that came out the first few times) reached out and apologized for the guy I had on his 4tn visit, understood my frustration, and offered two treat my yard two more times free of charge. He also gave me the information I asked the last guy for, and now I'm going to be using this company for all of my pest control needs. ___ They're really a 2.5, but I'm rounding it up to 3 since they seem like good people. I had them come out due to a mole/gopher problem and I got their 4-week service for $400, which included coming out every week to treat my yard. They were clear that there was no guarantee that it would rid my yard of all gophers, but he was confident that it would work as he said it does a great majority of the time. Well, it did not. The mole/gophers are still here and I feel like I wasted $400. I even asked the last guy (a new guy I had never met) about their monthly service when he brought it up (he was mentioning how with the golf course this would be a problem forever -- nice to know that at my last service) and he said he would get the info to me on Monday - that was several weeks ago and I never heard back from him or the company. If you have a mole/gopher problem, look elsewhere. But I will say, the gentleman who came out the first few times was very nice and professional. I recently had solar panels put on my roof by Tesla. I live on the outskirts of town and there is a lot of wildlife such as hawks, snakes, field mice and pigeons. Well, the pigeons started to nest up and congregate in the gaps between my roof tiles and the solar panels, so much so that eggs would periodically drop down to from the sky when the wind would blow really hard. Mark, Allen and Jake came out to do an estimate and gave me a great price on netting the panels and installing spike strips on certain parts of the house to prevent the pigeons from hanging out. The guys were great. They came on time, finished the job without anyone in the house even noticing that they were there. I used to hear the pigeons every morning milling about on my roof from my bedroom, but not anymore. I do see that they have moved on to my neighbor's roofs though. I will definitely be recommending them to friends and family if they ever have a need for pest control or bird remediation. read more

I called him yesterday made an appointment, and he came today at 9am to knock those roaches out of my house. If I could give 10 stars I would. I contacted Knock Em'Out Pest control to take a look at the bat problem in our attic. Jake showed up and did a thorough inspection of the exterior and interior and provided evidence of the culprits hanging out. The next week, Jake and his team removed all of the insulation, cleared out the tenants, sanitized and re-insulated our attic. All exterior entry points were sealed up and we have not heard any activity since. This team was reliable (showed up at 7:30 AM), professional and thorough. They cleaned up and you would never have known they did all the work inside the house. Jake was just here to do a follow up, which is amazing. I received a quote from knock'em out pest control for which they charged $45. The price seemed reasonable, but one of the other quotes I received sounded more efficient and for what we were looking for was a better fit for us. We received the bill multiple times from from knock'em out, (I let them know I paid the bill already). They ended up sending the account to collections after the bill was taken care of and they said this would be noted in the system. To make a long story short, I called the collector and let them know I'd pay the $45 again, because it's just not worth the time to try and dispute $45. In the end this was a $90 quote, and a negative mark on my credit for no reason . Try another company! They'll probably give you a free quote. read more

I have had this service for several months and this company is a joke!!! My house is infested with rats/spiders and I was trying my best to put out poison and traps from homedepot but I was struggling to keep up with them. So my wife suggested we hire these guys so I gave in and when they came out all they did was put out the same wood snap traps that I was using!!! I couldn't believe it! They barely ever show up to empty the traps so I have to do it anyway and I get to pay $90 a month for $20 with of traps! The rats ate the dryer vent under my house so everything in my house is molding from the moister and who knows what else they are destroying! The worst thing is if you call them to come out more that minimal amount they send me a bill for another $90!! They locked me into a bullshit contract for a year and all I want to do is make this nightmare end. read more

We called a few companies in the area, but I liked what I was hearing from these guys. Website was helpful in detailing services they provided. I also liked what they were communicating during our inspection. Most importantly, I really felt like they were honest with what we needed to do. Joseph and his crew helped service for exclusion in our attic and pest management for roaches. They were very detailed and seemed to have done a great job sealing any leaks around our home perimeter and resolving the roach and rodent problems. This was an expensive service and wasn't something we wanted to spend money on doing, but we knew how important it was and we're very pleased with the results. We will eventually have to pull the trigger on the attic insulation removal, cleaning, and replacement, but that's an expense we're working on. I'm not a hater, in fact I like to give people the benefit of the doubt and even 2nd and 3rd chances whenever possible. But considering that this company advertises "FREE ESTIMATES", not only on their site, but on their truck, and then the owner tries to charge you $35 for having to come out and inspect the situation -- I'm not down with that. I'm an honest person who's been getting "FREE ESTIMATES" my entire life, and never has it meant "EXCEPT FOR THE FEE". I was willing to let it go, even considered using their service, but after the owner called me and made it seem like it was my fault, and my lack of understanding of what a "FREE ESTIMATE" is, but that he'll "let me slide this time", and then hung up on me, it becomes my obligation to inform fellow Yelpers. To reassure my understanding, I called another exterminator immediately after and asked them if they were going to charge me for their "FREE ESTIMATE". Their answer? "Of course not... there are no charges unless you agree to the services." And they're coming from a much further distance, 2-3 times further, almost an hour away. I don't wish KO Pest any ill will and hope they succeed as a company, but only if they do it the right way. Maybe I caught them on a bad day... but I have to agree with ZR's review below. read more
