My husband and I were walking by this afternoon and took a peek into this burger joint. There was a guy standing outside and he said this was the best burgers in town. We were kind of interested so we were like " hmm, we will check it out". Little did we know that he was also the cook. He proceeded to walk in and said." Also I'm the guy making your burger". We thought it was pretty funny so we took a look at the menu and ordered two combo #5. It consists of a chicken sandwich with fries and a drink for the great price of $10. We took a seat and while we waited for our food the place started to fill up. He was amicable and efficient and quickly took everyone's orders while also being the only cook. Impressive right?! Later he brought our food and I'm not exaggerating when we say these are the best chicken sandwiches we have had in a long time. This is a local gem of a place. First, the food is amazing, it's all made fresh to order right off the grill and piping hot. My 10 year old had a burger and French fries, I had a grilled chicken sandwich, we paid $15 for a fresh cooked meal for both of us. Where can you get that now a days? She was working at a good pace for just one person. The line does get a little long of a wait if there is only one person working but the food is so worth the wait. After many years away from Carlsbad, our first food stop was Knockout Burger. The meal was just as good as it was the last time we were there. We are super happy the establishment survived COVID. The owner happily welcomed us back. He takes great pride in preparing the food. I thought it would cost a lot more, but I found the food to be reasonable. All meals are cooked to order so you get a hot meal. It is a bit of a hole in the wall, but we find that that is one of the things we like about it. If you visit Carlsbad, Knockout Burger is a must. My review for this burger place is very limited since I only got the fries here. I was craving something salty after trying the Strawberry Shack, which I highly recommend going to. Besides only getting fries, they were perfectly crispy and they added some type of seasoning, I believe it is cajun, which tastes amazing. These fries remind me of fresh McDonald fries since they are thin and have the perfect amount of salt. I recommend trying the Knockout sauce to pair with the fries.
