My daughter needed to get a wedding cake for her destination wedding and had heard that this bakery had delicious cakes. We weren't able to get to Kauai to try any cakes but ordered one anyway. We took an unexpected trip to Kauai about a month before the wedding and asked our friend to take us to the bakery thinking maybe they would have some slices we could buy to try. We were so excited. There was no other customers besides my friends and I and the female behind the counter just stood there and watched us. I asked her if they had any haupia slices for sale because my daughter ordered a cake and I was wanting to try it. She looked at me and pointed to the refrigerator and said that's all we have with an unhappy face. That reaction brought all of us down. I still wanted to get something from here since I was so excited. I bought a scone. Still not one word from the worker. So disappointing!! Service is such a big deal for me. This place was fantastic. I ordered a 6" chocolate with vanilla buttercream for my husbands birthday. We arrived late Friday so had it delivered to our hotel. This bakery is fantastic!! We ordered two cakes for our family over Thanksgiving, the Koloa rum caramel bundt, and the pumpkin crunch. Both cakes were so delicious, we loved them. I was able to order very easily online, they were quick to respond to my email request. We arranged for pickup the day before the holiday, and everything was ready to go when we got to the shop. They are centrally located in Lihue, very easy to find. And they make amazing coffee, and had a ton of great pastry available. Very friendly, great bakery find on the island. read more

Well we didn't get to but the actual store location but we did meet up with the owners at the Saturday Farmers Market at Kauai Community College. We enjoyed tasting most of the flavors of the biscotti - and bought a few. We missed out on the cakes, but certainly will look forward to it on our next visit. Ko Bakery is FANTASTIC! I am a huge fan of their lilikoi (passionfruit) white chcolate scones, and buy a week's worth every time I drive into Lihue from the north shore (where I live). I ordered a chocolate lilikoi cake for a pot luck birthday party I was attending. While I expected the cake to be yummy, I didn't expect it to be out-of-this-world yummy, and all the dinner guests raved and raved about it. In fact, the five of us who had just had a very large dinner with heavy appetizers, ate more than half of the large, 9-inch cake. Came in looking for an iced coffee while we waited for our to go order at Mark's place. Unfortunately they didn't have iced coffee but they did have some delicious looking pastries. We opted for a chocolate macadamia nut cookie, peanut butter cookie, and Lillikoi cheesecake. All 3 were incredible. I can't say that I've ever had a more delicious cookie than the Choc chip cookie they made. It was crisp, chewy, and stuffed full of chips and nuts. We had Ko Bakery create our wedding cake, 2 tier mango coconut with beautiful orchid flowers. We also had an additional "side cake" that was chocolate with toasted coconut to please chocolate lovers in the family. Everyone loved both cakes and were unable to pick a favorite! A couple things to note, order early because we almost missed out on an incredible cake experience because Ko is extremely popular. Cakes do well in the Kauai weather and taste best when left out for a few hours to allow the butter cream to soften. Great customer service and worked with us to design the perfect cakes! read more

We were looking for some baked goods for our breakfast while on vacation and stumbled on Ko Bakery. It was almost closing time so our expectations were a little lower as to what would be available. As it turned out, we needn't have worried. Yes the selection was smaller due to time of day but everything we bought was absolutely delicious. We bought four different kinds of scones and a mini pineapple upside down cake. The scones were quite rich with wonderful flavor combinations. My fav was the pecan ginger. The lili koi white chocolate was wonderful. My husband enjoyed his blueberry one and the pineapple coconut. The pineapple upside down cake was delightful warmed up. This review is solely for our wedding cake. Our wedding was suppose to happen in April. We met with Morris and crew back in November to do a cake tasting. They set the table with a bunch of options and it felt really special. They really took time just for the tasting. Well Covid happened and our wedding got cancelled, twice. Both times, Morris was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was kind, understanding, and willing to be flexible with all our requests. We decided on a whim to just have our ceremony and Morris worked with us on very short notice. Our cake was delivered and absolutely gorgeous. He really listened specially to what I wanted. It was EXACTLY what I asked for. Now, how it tasted.. I'll preface by saying I don't like frosting, and I'm more of a pie person than a cake person. However, this cake was probably one of the best I've ever had. The frosting was light, and there was just the perfect amount of frosting to cake. Our base layer was lilikoi pineapple. And omg, so amazing. There were chunks of real pineapple in there. Sooo good. Our top layer was ko caramel and equally as amazing. Our guests fought over who got to take cake home. Had our wedding cake done here and it was sooooooooo good! And so unique! I LOVE CAKE! So for me it was very important for my wedding to experience the whole cake tasting thing. We got to the island a few days before our wedding and were able to do cake tasting and decide what we wanted our cake to be and have it completed on a Sunday, a day they normally are closed. Chris definitely catered to us and delivered exactly what we wanted! The flavors of everything were so delicious, we had never had anything like it. The cake itself was beautiful with purple orchids cascading down. Our flavors consisted of passion fruit (lilikoi) and toasted coconut for one tier and carmel and vanilla for another.
