Hello! This place was good, don't get me wrong, but -in all honesty- it wasn't as good as I was expecting based on the reviews. Perhaps I thought it would taste like my mom's or grandmother's cooking or like I was back in Syria; alas, no, not even nearly as good. But it has more home-cooked meal options than just a regular Mediterranean restaurant, so that was good. But the grape leaves and Kibbehs were really underwhelming for me, but my non-Levantine, white-as-ice friend that I dragged with me was loving everything, so I think I was just picky because of my Syrian background. Price is very reasonable, I will say. And they have tiseeyeh which I didn't get that visit, but rarely see it on menus, so that's a plus. Parking lot is pretty useless so we just parked on one of the residential streets in the back. I'd give it a 3.5, seeing as I can't, I just rounded up. Very clean and cozy place. The service was almost perfect and the food not bad either. I was expecting to be blown away by flavors based off the yelp reviews and while is certainly not bad, there's always room for improvement. I ordered the beef kabob with a side of cucumber yogurt salad and it was really good, definitely tasted home-made, but not as I had hoped for. The salad was properly seasoned, the rice was good, but the meat was a bit fatty (in some areas) and the humus a tiny bit bland. The pita bread,... well, is just pita bread. Maybe it was an off day, so I'll give this place another visit and order a different dish. read more

I have tried a bunch of Mediterranean food in the valley and have been looking for a place with a delicious beef kabob and happy I found this place! This is probably my 3rd time eating here and can't believe I only tried them recently after living in the valley my whole life. The filet beef kabob is very tasty, and they ask you how you want your meat cooked compared to other places. The hummus consistency is perfect and very delicious! Definitely give this place a try, and the ladies who work there are very nice as well. I have not tried any other dishes there yet, but so far the food has been amazing! read more

We had a bad experience today. My husband called in an order for delivery for 4 pm because we had family coming over. The owner showed up with the food about 1.5 earlier claiming that someone called her and asked to deliver ASAP. We said that we don't want the food now because it will be cold by the time the guests come to which she suggested we warmed it up in the oven ourselves. To us it wasn't acceptable, I didn't order the food to be warmed up and it's not our mistake. My husband asked them please do not bring the same meat warmed up an hour and a half later and of course they showed up with the same food most likely warmed up in the oven just like the owner was suggesting for us to do ourselves. The meat was so dry it was uneatible. All of it, the chicken, the fillet and luleh. It was terrible. The prices are in the higher range, and definitely do not justify this kind of quality. Stay away! What an amazing restaurant and amazing staff! I was missing my moms grape leaves and came here to try Kobee's grape leaves. I was definitely not disappointed. It is so hard to find a place that actually makes grapes leaves fresh from scratch rather than opening a can. These grape leaves were so delicious. You can tell they were handmade and well cooked. They had vegetarian and meat. I had the vegetation ones. The staff were extremely generous and very kind. Definitely my new favorite spot for Arabic food. read more

We loved this place. We tried the Kobee Barbeque (tastes like garbanzo "dough" stuffed with beef and pine nuts), Chicken Shish Taouk, and Beef Kabob plates. All were delicious - especially the tender chicken! All plates come with traditional sides of pita, hummus, and salad with cucumber and tomato, some come with the yellow rice (SO good). Everything was amazing - would highly recommend. Parking was easy because we went during an off-time, but I can see it being more difficult during lunch and dinner time. We moved to the valley recently and we are still trying to find the hidden gems. Kobee Factory has now been added to that list, thanks Yelp! Stopped by on a Saturday night around 6 pm and placed an order to go. The hubby ordered the chicken shawarma plate and I got the falafel and veggie wrap. Sides of hummus and salad. Food took about 15 minutes, because everything is made to order. As soon as we got the food back into our car we began driving home and were already drooling because it smelled freaking DELICIOUS. We couldn't wait to tear into everything and it tasted as good as it smelled. The chicken shawarma was tender and flavorful. The hummus was creamy and smooth and OH SO GOOD. And my falafel and veggie wrap was crunchy and soft and tangy and perfect. Seriously amazing falafel. Next time we will definitely try the kobee too. Can't wait to come back to this gem! read more

As we were paging through Yelp looking for dinner options, I was struck by Kobee Factory and the fact that it seems that everyone gives this place 5 stars. Could this place really be that spot-on all of the time? Turns out that the answer is a resounding "yes." Kobee Factory isn't much to look at from the outside. Nestled in a mini strip mall, the bright blue walls take on a strange glow from the unflinching overhead lighting. A small counter is there to place your order, and there are just a few small tables in the dining area. But the stark and spartan interior yields to a true aura of warmth once you step up to the counter to place your order. The lady who runs this place is super gracious and seems genuinely excited to share her food with her customers. During our first visit, she took the time to explain every dish and what she likes about it, and she even offered an option that wasn't on the menu: a filet mignon kebab. The food is superb. There's nothing fancy about it, but everything is just so well-done, from the texture of the eponymous kobee, to the absolutely dynamite kebabs. The filet mignon is a heck of a deal, as you get a sizeable chunk of meat that is lean and tender and cooked to perfection. This is the kind of place I like when I'm in the mood for some comfort food. It's filling, it's flavorful, but most importantly, you get the sense that you're eating something prepared with a lot of care by someone who is personally invested in the quality of the food and your experience. "I read you had the best falafel and I'm trying to finally find some falafel that she likes." "Oh, she will!" she exclaimed. "Our falafel is the best in town!" Her confidence was encouraging, and sure enough, the moist, textured, hummus-smeared chickpea-and-veggie balls met with the elusive approval of my mom! We weren't as crazy about the pita bread - falafel balls so delicious deserve more than what tasted like store-bought - but the falafel itself was excellent. What won us over for real, though, was the soujouk. Oh, the soujouk was fantastic. It took me back to the days of soujouk pizza in Anaheim at Zait&Zaatar, but here it was in long unbroken patty-like links oozing with spiced oil and offset by bright purple pickled beets. Having eaten in many middle Eastern restaurants (of various origins), I can say first that I probably have never eaten in a Syrian restaurant (but have had a good friend's Mom who is Syrian prepare a couple of exquisite feasts for me). But second, I cry out that Wafa's cuisine is simply exceptional. EVERYTHING is full of flavor, that kind of flavor that only a mother could infuse into food. The salad and the tabouli was fresh and perfectly balanced. The hummus was exceptionally rich with a depth of flavor I've simply never had before. The meat (both beef and chicken) was the kind of tender that makes you want to chew for 5 minutes, not out of toughness (it was melt in your mouth), but simply so that you could extract every bit of flavor. Got a new set of tires from Van Nuys Tires (across the street, great job and prices) and looked across the street to see a sign for Syrian Food, and the name of a dish that sounded vaguely familiar, Kobee (kibbeh). I got the Chicken Shawarma and a Kobee. The shawarma was not on a vertical spit, and was more of a stew than crispy strips of chicken, but regardless of the appearance, the flavor was delicious, and over a bed of rice with some garlic sauce, was delicious. I haven't lived in LA for several years now, so I had to turn to Yelp to find a place to eat in the valley. Searching around for nearby restaurants, i see this place with a perfect 5 stars and over 100 reviews. Is that even possible? Is it just hype? HELL NO IT ISN'T. Hands down, the ladies of Kobee Factory make the tastiest chicken shawarma wraps anywhere. Somewhere between the medley of flavorful meat and pickled goodness, past the river of delicious garlic sauce that flows freely within the slightly toasted shell of fresh made bread, there is love... and you can taste it. I don't want to write any more than that because sharing this shawarma might make it less special... thoughts of that shawarma make me happy and I'm a selfish bastard. The night is dark and full of terrors, but with this shawarma I can tame dragons and fight back the night... Gah... I'm hungry. Anyway, while you're there, do yourself a favor and try out the kobee (commonly known as kibbeh). You'll see the plate and think that that's your only option, but you can just get one to try... but you won't want just one. The kobee comes either fried or grilled, but with their own merits, but I really enjoyed it on the grill. The char adds a little bit of depth to the flavor that you don't get from the fried version, but don't get me wrong, both are delicious. If you're anything like me, the decision may be a bit too hard to make, so I highly recommend you get one of both. Looking forward to going back to LA soon to eat here agai... I love this place so much! I'm sad we moved to another neighborhood, but we still manage to stop by every now and then. Last night I had the veggie kobee. It was so tasty, and was even bigger than the regular kobee. The owner, who is a super nice woman, asked if I was vegetarian. She wanted to suggest the Mjadara, which is her favorite. What a wonderful find in our neighborhood! My husband is Syrian and I'm American, and we both love the food here. We've had the kobee (kibbeh) and fataeh, both were delicious, and we can't wait to try more of the menu. My husband also asked the owner/chef Wafa about yabrak (stuffed grape leaves, Syrian style), because he loves them and hasn't been able to find ones that taste right at any of the Middle Eastern restaurants we've tried. They aren't on the menu, but she said she could make them -- and a number of other Syrian dishes -- on request with a day's notice. We put in a huge order and were not disappointed -- my whole family loved them, and my husband said they tasted perfect and truly homemade. Wafa is also super sweet and friendly. I'm a Middle Eastern studying in CA. I have been to many Middle Eastern restaurant all over the world and I had never tested authentic food as I did today at Kabee Factory. I ate the Kobee BBQ , Tabola and the Intestines stuffed with minced and spices ( it was amazing ). thanx to the wonderful chef , Wafa for the fantastic , delicious and flavorful food.
