    Chicken bowl

Got the 2 different bowls. Both was a lot of rice and not enough protein. The wings (honey siracha) really good. Service was great. Fast and friendly. Ambiance Definitely chill. Price was a little high for the amount of food we got.

We walked in at 6pm on a Monday and it was completely empty but by 8 it got a little bit busier. I ordered the krispy wings with the yangnyeom sauce and the jajangmyeon. The jajangmyeon wasn't my favorite because I felt like the noodles were a bit mushy and there needed more spice. I did enjoy the wings and felt that the sauce wasn't overly sweet which I appreciated.

At Kochu, you order at the counter and get a number to set on your table. The food is cooked fresh so it takes some time to come out. Our group had the chicken teriyaki bento, Galbi bento, spicy chicken and cheese ramen and the Yangyeum K-Wings. The wings and Galbi were my favorite. The chicken teriyaki was just ok. The spicy chicken ramen was a little too spicy for me but it was super tasty.

Food: a little hole in the wall spot for Korean food, especially a good jjajangmyun! I've had the jjajang myun here twice and I think it's better than Paik's noodles at Hmart imo. The yukgejang was good too and the Korean style fried wings are good as well. Service: it is owned by Koreans and they are attentive and friendly! Ambiance: it's decorated as a pocha type except it's bright and white instead of dark and moody. Like a daytime pocha I guess? Other: Parking is abundant, it's tucked away in the corner of the plaza but I wish more ppl knew about it!

Chaos meets cuisine in this strip center location. This small restaurant is a hive of activity even if you get here after the lunch rush. You can still see the flames leaping around in the kitchen and the cooks hustling. When you walk through the door, you'll be handed a 5 page menu or you can scan the QR code on a table. You have to stand in line, then you order, face the tip screen, then you are handed a number until it comes out. You'll notice they have a large selection of drinks off to the side, but they have no drink menu. They have beer, soju and even a few liquor bottles, but do they make mixed drinks? In other words, the drink equation here is a mystery (we settled for water). I ordered the beef Bulgogi plate and the wife got the bibombok bowl. For the money, you cannot beat the quality of the freshly prepared food. If you decide on the wings here, you'll notice they are quite popular, but the fries are nothing unique. Everything considered, this is still a great spot to fulfill that Korean cuisine fix. Informative photos included. It should be mentioned that they do a lot of "to go" business.

Everything I ordered was delicious, but the wings were particularly great. Perfectly crispy + juicy. I REALLY want to try the super spicy wings next time, I'm sure they are even better.. Can't speak to service or the store as I ordered through DoorDash, but highly recommend for great Korean food/wings.

Food was so good!! 10/10 recommend the Tteokbokki with cheese. The cashier was so nice and friendly! Very chill vibes for a place to bring your friends to eat. Will be back when I'm back in town.

Authentic, hearty Korean food. This restaraunt completes the holy quadfecta of a 5 star lunch spot - delicious, healthy, affordable, and quick. The portions are also very generous. The Soegogi Muguk ($15.95) was A+++. My friend got the bibimbap with bulgogi ($10.95 + $4.95) and he really enjoyed it. Order at the counter, grab a number, and food is brought out to you. The inside is bright, casual, and clean.

Another successful trip to Kochu! This place really satisfies our Korean chicken cravings. The creamy ginger sauce and radish you get in the side are great for breaks in flavor. Well done, as always!

This was a great Korean restaurant. There was a lot of variety with the bento box I got and it was a very filling lunch. Overall the atmosphere is upbeat and lively and I loved all the artwork at the location. It has an almost open kitchen concept so you know the cooks are hard at work making your order. There is a lot of variety here and many things I hadn't tried before but really look forward to trying on my next visit like the buldak covered chicken wings which I think was a special but I hope they keep it around so that I can try it. You can't beat Korean fried chicken! I will definitely be back and really enjoyed my experience and highly recommend this place.

Very nice fast casual Korean eatery. The service is quick and very good selections. Friendly staff. We tried the Bulgogi bowl, Spicy Squid Dosirak Bento, Spicy Pork Dosirak Bento and the Soy Garlic Wings. The food are all taste great. This is a good find.

I had such a wonderful experience at Kochu Korean Eatery! From the moment I walked in, I was immediately greeted by the owner with such a warm and welcoming manner. He genuinely cares about his customers and it shows. He even offered samples of the tamarind lemonade, brown sugar lemonade, and hibiscus tea right away. That kind of hospitality instantly sets the tone. What impressed me most was how consistently attentive and kind he was to everyone -- adults, teenagers, and even little kids were all treated with the same great level of service. You can tell he's truly customer-service oriented. It's located in a shopping center so lots of parking. The menu is large with plenty of options to choose from. I decided on a bento box because I was craving bulgogi and jap chae, and this one came with both plus kimchi and pickled sides! I also ordered the tamarind lemonade, which wasn't too sweet exactly how I like it. I honestly wasn't planning on finishing everything in my bento, but it was so delicious that I did! The bulgogi was prepared just the way I like it. My sister-in-law is half Korean, and when we visit, her mom cooks amazing homemade Korean meals for us. I was really craving that comforting, authentic flavor today and Kochu absolutely satisfied it. The portions are generous and the value for the price is fantastic. Between the incredible customer service and the delicious food, this place is an easy 5 stars for me. Wish we had something like this South of Austin. I'll definitely be coming back and highly recommend it!

Kochu is a casual korean restaurant specializing in rice bowls with pretty authentic flavors and good portion sizes. They give a lot of rice, but I do wish the proportions were better. Like more meat and vegetables. We also got the kimchi fries, which were good but I didn't care too much for. And the k-wings, which I liked a lot! The sauce was delicious, the chicken was crispy, and the inside was not too dry. I will say it was more expensive than I expected. The base price isn't the worst, but I was expecting more meat. And then if you want extra of anything, there's a surcharge. Even for sauces! And adding meat is like an additional $4/5. Overall a solid spot for when you're craving some Korean food, but not exactly a place where you'd have the best food of your life.

However, upon opening the front door I was met with beautiful fine dining ambience: exotic ceramic-tiled walls, cherry-finished wicker furniture cushioned with satin pillows, and of course the enormous golden cherub statue in the center of the room which delicately sprayed chicken tortilla soup into the Venice-like channels that crosshatched the restaurant. A hostess in a gondola rowed us to our table singing a song in another language (maybe Italian?) before letting us know that the Soup Man would be with us shortly as he was very busy today. The warning was unwarranted though, as the Soup Man shortly thereafter appeared at our table addressing, us by name and apologizing that the hostess didn't realize what esteemed guests we were. Bashfully I stammered that he must have me confused with someone else as I'd never been to this establishment before, but he softly shook his head and with a smile said, "I know all who live within this city." and pulled a steaming bowl of turkish wedding soup (my favorite!) from behind my ear as if to prove his point. Overall it was a wonderful experience! I am docking it one star because they were out of oyster crackers to crumble on my soup. Will be back!

My only complaint and why this isn't a five star review is because they pretty much had one person making coffee and taking/delivering orders. There were two other employees there while this was happening, but one guy was on his phone until he saw the entire line looking at him before he skulked off to the back and another person washing pans. She was busy but when she finished, she just stared at the line and then walked to the back as well. I get people may not be trained for every job, but this poor girl getting slammed and doing everything herself needed help. At least pretend to ask. An older gentleman walked in and went behind the counter, surveyed the line, checked a pastry fridge to make sure that it was stocked up, went to back briefly and walked out. No one ever helped the poor girl at the front counter. Food is amazing, but you may be waiting quite a while to order if they keep this up. Will we return....heck yes. I just hope they get the front area more help.

The bowl itself came loaded with meat--they definitely weren't skimping to save money here. The meat-to-noodle ratio felt great, and every bite actually had substance instead of leaving me fishing around for toppings. As for the broth, I landed somewhere in the middle. It wasn't quite as clear or light as I personally prefer, leaning toward a fattier, milkier undertone that almost reminded me of a Vietnamese pho take on tonkotsu. The flavor itself was undeniably very good, but the richness may have been a bit too much for me personally. One way I usually judge how much I love a pho broth is whether I want to sip the bowl down to the very end, and this one wasn't quite light enough for me to want to do that. I've had richer and deeper pho flavors elsewhere, but I still appreciated the flavor profile here and could absolutely see why this place is so popular. It feels hearty, comforting, and satisfying in a way that clearly resonates with many people. Despite how packed the restaurant was, the atmosphere ended up being surprisingly pleasant. Service moved very quickly, which honestly impressed me given how busy everything felt. Even with the crowd, I didn't dislike the spacing or setup at all--the restaurant still felt comfortable, and the sound of people enjoying their food all around added to the lively, welcoming energy rather than making it feel overwhelming. Overall, Pho Phong Lưu ended up being one of those places where I completely understood the hype, even if it didn't become my personal favorite pho spot. While the broth leaned richer than my preference, I still enjoyed the experience and definitely look forward to trying other dishes next time.
