$19 for a 6 inch sub, worlds smallest cup of soup, and a little tiny sliver of pie. For $19 I should at least be full, but instead I find myself looking in the fridge. On the menu it says for couple bucks more you can make it a combo with chips and a drink. Maybe really need to emphasize to you want "CHIPS AND DRINK" because when I asked to make it a combo I wasn't charged for it and ended up leaving without it. I just smiled and said no worries and left. There's not a lot going on in this place. There's a handful of tables in the front, you place your order at a counter in the back. Some of the items on their menu they don't even have so I guess they have a chalkboard of what they do have. Maybe it's just random every day I don't know. This review is only for their pies, though I definitely want to give their food a try. The pie is good. I'm a fan of their banana cream but I don't think I could ever eat here. The place reeks of cigarette smoke. It's not their fault that they are stuck next to the bar but it is unfortunate because the smoke irritates my asthma. So I highly recommend just getting their food to go and maybe bring cash as backup because it's like a cell dead zone and their credit card machine was taking forever. read more

Soup and pie served subs, soup, and you guessed it pie. I got the 12 inch nuco which has all the Italian meats, Italian dressing, and veggies. You can get it cold or toasted and it has all the great Italian flavors you would expect from a sandwich. I also decided to get their peanut butter pie. I'm a sucker for home made pie and this really hit the spot. This is a great local spot in the wells branch area that has reasonable pricing if you aren't looking to go out downtown. Was so excited when I saw this place on the Too Good To Go app. Tried multiple soups, the best being the chicken and dumplings and the worst being the tomato. Every soup was way over salted. I consider myself a salt fiend and even these soups were too salty for me! All are nicely made and would be incredibly delicious if they would lighten up on the salt. I couldn't even finish the tomato soup, it was so salty. Place does smell like cigarette smoke from the pub next door. Perhaps a couple of air purifiers would help. read more

Ordered 2 subs, both very good. about the same prices as subway. the bread comes from a bakery (vs baked by the store) and was tasty, not as heavy as typical subway bread. the meat portions of the club sub were generous. The sausage potato soup was okay. nothing special. other soups could have been more interesting. All the pies seemed interesting tho we did not get pie this time. these are pies, like key lime and coconut crean, you don't find at HEB. Will go again when we are having lunch in the area. Wow where has this place been all my life? Delicious fresh made food with friendly staff, fair prices, and a very clean environment. The trio for $15 includes a cup of soup, six inch sub sandwich, and a slice of delicious pie. All of which are made fresh every day. Usually end up saving the pie for later because my six inch has plenty of toppings which are included in the asking price. Pie slices are sold in a sturdy box for easy traveling. They have a soda fountain with Maine Root sodas. This is a premium soda made with real sugar and absolutely worth checking out if you've never tried Maine Root before. There's also coffee and tea of course along with free water cups. Lots of varieties of potato chips to go with your sandwich but I'd really recommend a cup or bowl of fresh soup over the chips any day. Every soup we've tried here has been really good. You'll order a cup but wish you had ordered a whole bowl, trust me! The free bread bites included with the soups are a nice little tasty treat. There are also saltine crackers aplenty on hand for dipping or crumbling. Broccoli cheese soup was tasty on our last visit as were the black bean chorizo and the chicken noodle varieties. Sandwich selection is great and they are more than happy to customize to your exact liking all while wearing a big smile. They have many sandwich toppings and meats to choose from. Even have an oven so your sandwich can be toasted if you prefer. Highly recommend a toasted tuna melt with cheese on top but you really cannot go wrong with the sub sandwiches here. The bread for every sandwich is fresh baked just like the pies. Don't be fooled by big corporate places like s u b w a y that are just baking factory made frozen dough each day. The sandwich bread and dough used here is superior. The chocolate peanut butter pie was amazing as was the banana cream pie. Best of all each slice of pie is sold in a nice sturdy to go box already packaged up just waiting for you to come get it. You just walk in, pay with tap to pay or whatever, grab a slice o' pie out of the refrigerated case, and off you go. The to go box is strong enough to be washed and reused many times afterwards so now we have a supply of nice little boxes with lids for the kid's lunches. The flavors of pie on offer will vary from day to day so there's new things to try on each visit. Definitely ordering our Thanksgiving and Christmas pies from here. Paying for our food was a breeze. The payment terminal is modern and secure with all the good features. How this place is not more crowded is beyond me. The menu board is a giant 85 inch digital screen with pictures and prices. There is a chalkboard with the soups of the day to the left on the wall. What I'd like to see added is a placard somewhere near the menu board listing all of the sandwich toppings available and which ones, such as bacon, might cost extra and what the cost would be. Also would be nice to have the refrigerated pie case elevated so older customers do not have to bend down so far to reach the pies on the lower prices. Some LED lighting installed inside the refrigerated case would also be appreciated. The pie is so good here it deserves better lighting. Get it up to eye level and I bet you'll sell more of it. read more

Wow- this banana cookie pie was one of the best pies I've ever had. The best thing here is that you sample as many soups as you want like an ice cream shop. This place is a very new business and I am aware that sometimes it takes a while to work out the kinks. Here's what I think they are doing right and what they could improve. The good: The sub bread was soft and delicious. The meats were good and they were very helpful in customizing the sandwiches. The chicken dumpling soup was crazy good! They had about eight different soups to choose from and about the same number of pies. The pie crust is delicious but read below for the issues with the pies. The opportunities for improvement: The place reeks of cigarette smoke probably from the bar next door where they allow smoking. The sandwich lettuce was not crispy and tomatoes were very small chunks dry. I prefer sliced tomatoes on sandwiches but that is only a preference. We got a sampling of a few of the soups and they were not great and way over salted. The fruit pie slices were a huge letdown. They were very thin (hardly any filling) and they were all soggy. One was so undercooked that most of the top crust was still raw. I think the sogginess is probably caused by the slices setting in closed plastic containers in a fridge. In my experience pie needs some air otherwise the moisture goes to the crust and it gets soggy. The cream pies didn't have this problem. I'm aware that most businesses monitor social media reviews if they do I hope they take it in the positive spirit this is offered. I will definitely go back after a while and see if things are improved. I hope so as I like their location and the menu. read more

Delicious soups! Made fresh daily. I just wish they would have a more consistent rotation of the flavors so you know when your favorites were available. Pies look like an afterthought. When I walked in the store invoked a classic sub shop feel. I see a review saying it smelled of cigarettes & can't say that I experienced the same! This new shop reminded my family of the start of a local sandwich brand that began in the 1970s so it is extremely refreshing to have a new place to get subs from! Inedible! Too salty and sour! We ordered a few to go and poured them all down the drain. It tasted like they were either spoiled or a weird vinegar / sour ingredient was added. Not sure why a bean soup has small bits of mashed beans without any chunks but it also not blended smooth like a pureed soup either. Very strange and I wanted to love it so much. First of all the individuals who work here are awesome! So friendly and accommodating. But the real star of the show is the food!!! The soups.....lemon chicken orzo, steak and potato, pork loin and rice soups are all so well balanced and tasty. Absolutely delicious! Had soup this evening (take out) from here and was thrilled. I got the vegan chickpea and carrot soup, which I honestly thought sounded a bit plain/boring before I tasted it. It was AMAZING. The chickpeas were al dente and clearly not from a can. The broth had incredible depth of flavor, as though it had been simmering for days. And they didn't skimp on the amount of either chickpeas or carrots. It was DELICIOUS. I also got the tomato and basil vegan soup, which was also lovely. read more
