We went to this restaurant because of high ratings. We waited an hour for the food to come. There were other people in the Restuarant that were complaining about the wait time with the personal. We ordered lentil soap, Lahmacun and Turkish pizza which are the signature dishes of Turkish cuisine. An hour later, the soap tasted burned and both entrees didn't have any flavors. I first came here a few weeks ago, with this guy I'm seeing. He is from Turkey and told me about the delicious spot. The owner and employees are all so kind and provide excellent service. The food is amazing. The place is clean. They maintain social distancing and require masks to enter. Did I say the food was amazing??? Lol! So we, typically, get the Turkish breakfast platter. Usually we order it with the menemen egg dish which has veggies and is perfect with the cucumber, tomatoes and cheese on the pita breads. Make your own sandwich or little bite-size taco. Lol! Honestly no service only one guy working register and coming to every table to take orders and food wasn't no flavor and not everything you see on pictures come down. Waiting for the food was bad they brought down one thing and the other food brought it down 20 minutes after they brought down the next dish was the simple breakfast platter. The sultan's delight was so bomb that it had me talking about it for a whole hour after I inhaled it in one sitting. I've never tasted anything like it before. The eggplant purée is creamy, soft but dense, and slightly sour. The beef is juicy and flavorful. Al Sanabel bakery has been renamed to Koftegi and has a bunch of Turkish items to try. Located in an older strip mall of Anaheim with Dessert Moon Grill and Knafe Cafe they have plenty of indoor seating for small groups. Ordering is done at the front. On my maiden voyage I went with a chicken kabob wrap, Turkish boat with ground beef and cheese, and a piece of baklava for dessert. Drinks cost extra, including $1 for bottled water. Chicken kabob wrap ($7) - This came with tender pieces of boneless chicken kabobs, lettuce, tomato, pickles, all served in lavash bread. There was no WOW factor for me when I tried the wrap. It was very plain in terms of taste and the pricing was typical for this type of dish. Turkish boat ($6) - This dish consisted of seasoned ground beef and cheese, wrapped in freshly baked bread. I loved everything about this dish. The bread was served hot from the oven and tasted amazing and went together with all the ingredients. I definitely want to try the other Turkish boats here (known as pide in Turkey). Baklava ($1.50) - The baklava was prepared with a buttery flakey phyllo dough and topped with some crushed pistachios. It was lightly sweetened and tasted amazing! I could tell this was freshly prepared. Overall I really enjoyed the freshly made Turkish boat and baklava here. I will definitely stick to their freshly baked goods as those are the clear winners here! They also offer kibbeh, hummus, and kabob plates, all of which sound really good. read more

Many restaurants were closed on New Years Day and we were pleasantly surprised to find this mom n' pop shop open. It was a happen place and vast majority of the clientele looked Middle Eastern, which is an excellent sign. Patrons would go to the cashier to order then select a seat to wait. The three of us decided to start off with the Turkish Breakfast Tray (for two), Babaganoush, and a Kushbashi boat (beef chunks). We were then told that after we finished we'd go and pay. When we got our order Kushbashi Boat was freshly made and devoured. We were famished as we had completed our 10k steps that morning. When the Turkish Breakfast came our eye lit up. There were so many different components and things to try with the warm pita bread. However, it wasn't my favorite as it was very heavy on dairy products and olives (both of which I don't consume often or regularly). The breakfast tray did taste very authentic, but it just wasn't how I usually start my day. I lean more heavily on protein and veggies (I know weird). After reading the reviews and seeing the menu, I wanted to give this place a try. I wanted to try their Turkish Boat. The place is small, but has plenty of room to sit comfortably and eat. It has a predominantly white color scheme, with an arching ceiling that has intricate crisscross patterns on either side. On the leftmost wall are four cultural dresses that are positioned in a slanted line as well as a rectangular picture in a frame. Next to the picture is a refrigerator. Tables line the leftmost wall as well as the medium-sized wall that stands in the middle of the restaurant. On the other side of the wall are more tables to sit at. There are also two drink refrigerators, a cooler that holds ice cream macarons, and a display case with vegetables and other treats. The rightmost wall has round columns and accompanying brickwork and on this wall are pictures of various locations. Daughter and I shared the Ground Beef and Egg Turkish Boat. We were really hungry and forgot to take the picture. Daughter thought it was really yummy and that it reminded her of beef and scramble eggs that she'd get at Chinese restaurants. I thought it was ok, no big deal. Hubs ordered the Vegetarian Platter which came with 2 grape leaves, hummus, babaghanoush, and 4 falafel. He thought that the falafels were ok and no big deal. The grape leaves were the best that he ever had. The hummus was really creamy and flavorful and he really liked it a lot. He thought that the babaghanoush was the cat's meow. I was wowed by the macaron ice cream freezer and had to get one. Daughter and I were both on a macaron kick and needed to satisfy our cravings. She was absolutely in love with it. I ended up eating most of it. I've never seen a macaron ice cream freezer before and will look for one in the East coast!
