Overrated! For starters, customer service was atrocious, with very rude employees! The cream in the donuts was a sugary white cream, similar to Duncan Donuts - - and NOT butter cream, as advertised. What they make here is absolute heaven! And you can tell by the crowds of people there EVERY morning. If you don't get there early, you aren't able to get much. Like a few businesses down in South Jersey Shore area, they only take cash. Their methods for taking orders are a bit archaic and their system could be improved. So prepare yourself with patience and frustration when you go to visit. But the rewards are worth the effort. We'd heard their donuts were amazing so stopped by last year on our way home from Cape May. Donuts: pretty good but I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to get them. Cream donuts are filled with fresh whipped cream, nice and light. Customer service: I was so traumatized that I don't think I would go back ever again. After waiting 30 minutes or so for our pastries, our preschooler needs to use the bathroom, so I ask the employee working behind the counter if there is a bathroom available. Her answer is no, there are no bathrooms for customers, and she sends us to another store, which sends us to another store, which sends us to another store...if you have ever dragged/carried an increasingly frantic preschooler who is about to wet his pants, you'll know how I was feeling at this point. Finally, at a loss as to what to do, I head back to Kohler's. Like many parents who have been in this unenviable and desperate position, I take him behind the store next to a dumpster. As my son is almost done emptying his bladder of what is probably, at most, a quarter cup of urine, a woman (perhaps the manager?) comes out and starts screaming and berating me and my THREE-YEAR-OLD son. Mortified and shocked, I tried to apologize and explain the situation and even offer to wash down his scant sprinkling with a hose, but she would have none of it. Hearing the commotion, the owner comes out and is extremely gracious and understanding about it but by this point my son and I are both in tears.
