Wow... Koi Poke is my new favorite poké place in town. Sure, I've only been one time, but I was sold at first bite. Thanks to Kennedy and the Koi Poke - Arcadia staff working last night for being so friendly and welcoming upon arrival. My husband was ready to leave because the place was empty when we walked in, but after he saw my reaction to the Hawaiian Tuna sample and the look of the beautiful bowls I was creating, he decided to get one for himself as well. I ordered 2 medium bowls (one for myself and the other for my mother-in-law), + a side bowl or rice and edamame for the kids... I may have overdone it with all of the ingredients, but it was delicious! I was impressed with how clean the fish and toppings area was as I went down the assembly line building. For the medium bowls, I had 1/2 white rice and 1/2 mixed greens, topped with Hawaiian tuna, salmon, and spicy tuna. From there, I added cucumber, edamame, brussels sprouts, seaweed, crabmeat, masago, and maybe another topping or two. The $12 price point for this is more than fair... actually a bargain! I cannot wait to return to Koi Poke - Arcadia again real soon! read more

Best quick Poke place in town! I finally got the chance to check out Koi Poke yesterday and it did not disappoint. The minute I walked in I was warmly greeted and shown the ropes. The girl who made my bowl was darling and she offered samples to try and advice on what was her favorite. She was so friendly and knowledgeable which made the experience just that much more pleasant. I chose a medium bowl which came with 3 scoops of protein; I got their Hawaiian tuna (scrumptious), shrimp, and regular tuna (all of which were divine). Along with my protein I got brown rice, spring mixed greens, crab salad, sesame seeds, crispy garlic, crispy onions, green onions, red onions, shaved brussel sprouts, and the house sauce as well as a few other sauces on the side to try (all of which blended perfectly with my yummy concoction) The great thing about the toppings is that I could add as much as I wanted without being nickel and dimed as many of the other poke places do. The prices are reasonable and the portions are generous for what you pay. Everything about the atmosphere was was clean clean clean (something I keep a keen eye out for when ordering raw fish of any kind). There are plenty of comfortable places to sit and eat, and the food all looks appetizing. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly without being over the top (if you know what I mean). My experience at Koi Poke was lovely from the moment I walked in the door to the last bite of my food. I'll be back soon and recommend it to all who enjoy great Poke! read more

First of all, Shame on you Yelp reviewers. How this place get 4.5 stars. First red flag - this place has a funk to it. If you smell it, you should probably walk out at any restaurant. I would of but you guys again gave it a 4.5. I order the tuna trio bowl. $15 WORST poke I had in my life. The sweet chili lime sauce is straight up disgusting. Too sweet, no chili or lime. Taste like that sweet red sauce from the Chinese buffet. Yeah imagine if some dumped that into your poke bowl, some dead person in O'ahu is rolling in their caskets for what you did to their culture. The rice is stuck together, imagine eating cubes of rice stuck together. With the taste from the sweet red sauce seeped into the rice, straight eating really sweet rice. The tuna was not soft. Whatever marinade they used, made the tuna harder and gave it a texture of similar to eating a jellybean and it was also sweet. There's a location closer to my home but I was in the area and decided to come in. It's always a good time for poké! This place has a really cool setup; most poke places have their counters against one side with a wall behind and you move along the line and order. Here, the employees are in the middle of a square setup and they have two sides for maximum efficiency, though only one side was being used today. This creates a more open and inviting atmosphere, and they had booth seating on both sides of the place. It was nice that once the gentleman finished up with a group, he came to assist me. I got my standard base of half white rice and half spring mix in a smol bowl ($10) with salmon and Hawaiian tuna. They also have lobster here, for a steep $4 extra. Avocado is $2 extra, phew! Toppings are similar to those of other poke shops, and I got my favorite: edamame, green onion, avocado, cucumbers, and crab meat. Dried toppings include onions, furikake, and garlic. But the sauces, ooh wee they have some good ones. I went a bit wild and got their spicy shoyu, sweet chili lime and spicy house aioli. So much sauce, I really like their chili lime one, the sweet flavor added a nice dynamic. The seafood tasted fresh and all the ingredients worked well together, though my bowl was so full that it was hard to mix them (not the worst problem to have). The folks here were so welcoming and friendly, I was glad to see business was steady during early dinner time. I look forward to visiting their sister locations and signing up for their rewards program. I liked it better than sriracha mayo. Only reason for 4.5 is that the hawaiian tuna (?) was a little salty when eaten without rice. (Tip - get spring mix. Make rice at home. Add to your bowl! Be very careful of this restaurant - the are using some very shady unethical Business practices. They hand wrote a note on my delivery ticket that said "order not paid for, please call store". This app will not place an order without payment, no restaurant is going to allow an Oder to be picked up without payment and I have proof of the charge in my account. Need evidence that the poke craze is still going strong? Look no further than Koi Poke. Originally founded by owner Sarah Elizabeth Bowers as a single restaurant in Scottsdale, there are now (as of this writing) six locations throughout the valley with plans for at least six more in the near future. And while Koi isn't the only poke chain in town, it can lay claim to being named the best poke spot by the Phoenix New Times in 2019. With that information in hand, I decided to make a go of Koi's Arcadia location for lunch on a Saturday. You'll find the Arcadia location situated on the north side of Indian School Road and 43rd Street (just a few doors down from Mod Pizza and Wildflower Bread). As you walk in, you see the large counter setup with rice cookers up front, and a wide variety of fish (and chicken if you prefer) and toppings down the rest of the line. Like a supersized Chipotle setup for seafood. And like Chipotle you're the master of your own destiny (or at least your own bowl). Glance at the menu near the front, or just let the friendly staff behind the counter guide you through the process. First, a base. I went brown rice (white rice is also an option). Next, choose anywhere between 2 and 4 scoops of a fish of your choice. I went two scoops of salmon (they also have shrimp, lobster, octopus, tofu, and a bunch of varieties of tuna). Then its toppings time. I opted for cilantro, kale, ginger, sesame seeds, crab meat, edamame, all doused in shoyu sauce (basically a soy sauce). Total cost for my bowl of food including tax came to about $12. The verdict? A pretty solid lunch. Loved the crab and salmon and the sauce brought everything together. I was a little so so on the veggie toppings. Kale and cilantro are typically dry yes, but even the edamame was a little dry. The shoyu helped it all go down smoothly though. Decent prices, good food, simple process, lots of possibilities. Again, not the first nor the only poke spot in town, but I can understand why Koi is amongst those most sought out for good poke. We may be a good 7+ hours flight from Hawaii. But with places like Koi in town, the valley's love affair with this Hawaiian tradition shows no sign of waning. read more

Some of my go to toppings were not offered. Also the vibe was also all wrong. The layout is a huge waste of space with a giant counter floating in the center of a U shape. It just felt odd, like bad feng shui. The self serve drink area is around back, in an area hidden from view. There are no hand washing sinks in the bathroom, instead there is a communal hand wash area outside the restrooms and near the drink area. Just poorly thought-out. read more

Healthy and delicious I decided to visit Koi Poke, and now I'm hooked. Everything is fresh, delicious, and healthy and the best part is, you can customize your bowl. First you select the size: small, medium or large. The larger the size two more protein you can add. Second, select your base: white rice, brown rice, spring mix, or rice/spring mix combo. Third, select your proteins. Koi Poke offers everything from Hawaiian tuna to lobster. Next, select the sauce you want drizzled it on your protein. You can even sample the sauces to assist you in ordering. Fourth, choose your toppings. So many to choose from, and again everything is extremely fresh. The portions are generous compared to other poke restaurants in the area and the fish is very fresh and there is no limit to the number of toppings you can add. Koi Poke has great beverage options including four types of fresh-brewed iced tea. The restraunt is very clean with plenty of seating. This is the go to spot when my boyfriend and I want a quick, healthy, and filling meal. They allow you to customize your order and they have a wide variety of proteins and toppings. We stacked our bowls to our liking and we didn't have to pay extra. The only things they charge for are things like additional scoops of protein, crab meat, and avocado. We've gone twice in one week because we loved it so much. First time we dined in the worker let us sample the sauces because we were indecisive about picking. Second time we called ahead for pick up because we already knew what we wanted the same exact thing from the first visit. Parking is plentiful, we experienced no wait both times we've gotten food here, and the price point is amazing for the amount of food you receive. They also have a rewards program, buy 10 bowls get 1 free small bowl (and you'd be able to upgrade to a different size, just pay the difference). I already know we'll be regulars here. I haven't tried any other poke places around Phoenix but after trying Koi, I don't feel the need to. read more

The servers are super helpful and happy. I had a small bowl with lettuce as the base (skip the rice). My two protein choices were salmon and shrimp (yummy), and then I loaded the bowl up with great vegetables, including seaweed salad and a big scoop of crab salad. My server really helped me through the process of choosing everything. Of course your choice of sauces can drastically change the flavor of your bowl. I like the chili lime sauce (no Mayo sauce for me). Oh yea, if you need a drink, the coconut pineapple green tea is unsweetened and really nice. Add ice or it tastes pretty bland. Since I'm allergic to shellfish, my husband is thrilled when we find a place that allows him to have it and not kill me. Trying to be less of a fatass. It's an uphill battle. Thought about meth. Weighed the pros and cons. Pros of meth: big productivity boost, always dancing (burning calories), cheap, and eliminates appetite (savings + fewer calories) Cons of meth: illegal, always dancing (even when you don't want to be), makes you lose teeth, not the right kind of weight loss Having weighed the pros and cons, I decided not to do meth. So I needed another way to lose weight. Eating less? Impossible. Exercising more? Ain't got time for that. That leaves one thing left - eating healthy. I've known poke is healthy for awhile, but typically it isn't filling and it's always too expensive for the amount of food I get. Enter Koi Poke. I've been twice, and left twice satisfied. Good job guys. 1. It's filling. They let you put as many scoops of non-protein in your bowl as you can fit. I can fit a lot in the belly, so I have them fit a lot in the bowl. They seem to get where I'm coming from and always load it up. Not the type of poke place that skimps on scoops. I appreciate that. 2. It's healthy. I eat a lot, but the lot that I eat is a lot of healthy stuff. The four scoops of protein that comes in a big bowl meets my need for meat. Then I just gorge on everything else vegetable and mineral to satiate the appetite. Both times I've been to Koi I haven't left a thing from the bar out my bowl. First time to a poke joint where I haven't felt hungry when I leave. I guess I can do this poke thing. Rock on. 3. It's expensive. It's still expensive, but at least I'm spending money on healthy filling food. 4. It's not meth. Here's the really important thing about Koi Poke: it's not meth. So while it's expensive, I still have my teeth, and while I'm not dancing all the time, I can eat all I want with the knowledge that I'll remain healthy and thin enough to dance when I want to. So it's kind of a mix of some of the positives of meth, without the cons. I would absolutely recommend Koi to other big eaters like me looking to stop being such huge, lard-soaked, fat-asses. My favorite was the salmon. They also offer tofu as a "meat" for non-fish eaters, and it was delicious! Wide variety of sauces - I got the sweet chili lime. It really was not too sweet, but they did recommend mixing it with one of their spicy sauces if you're looking for a little kick. The topping area was very impressive with lots of options to choose from (more than most other places I've been to) and they did not skimp on the portions they were scooping. We've been coming here for awhile now. Happened to find Koi Poke on Yelp! The staff here is what makes the place! It is usually really young guys working the counter with great personality. They are always so friendly, they know their menu well and always have great suggestions. The buffet is regularly flipped and cleaned, I think I see them do it every time I am here. The restaurant is trendy with good music, ample seating, and cute wall decals. Onto the food! If you're a sushi lover, this is a great option. Think Chipotle but sushi style toppings and proteins and just bowls. Only much much much better. The food is always fresh and the combinations are endless. They also have several beverage options and their brewed teas are great! I almost never finish the bowls because the portions are a good size. No complaints there! Koi Poke does it again!! I'm a very frequent customer of their original location in DC Ranch. I was one of their first customers and I have bought dozens of bowls from there and have never been disappointed. The freshness and QUALITY of the ingredients, the consistency, the service, the spotlessness of that place. They get it all right every time. But would they be able to pull it off again? Today I happened to be in the area and had a chance to try the food at Koi Arcadia and I am SO impressed! It's EXACTLY the same as the original location. The same high quality fish, the same great service, the same spotless interior. Different smiling faces but the same friendly vibe from the staff! I've said this in my review of the other location... The lobster with champagne sauce is to die for and in my opinion worth the $4 up-charge!. The spicy tuna is so fresh. Their sauces are all made in house and they're one of the many things that set this place apart. House sauce is a must try. To all the people saying the crab should be free like other places: THAT IS NOT REAL CRAB you're getting for free. It's easy to give away cheap imitation ingredients. At this place the first scoop is free (which IMO is generous with real crabmeat) and each additional scoop is $1. Personally I'd rather pay a bit more and know I'm getting the real thing. This location in particular is great, the guy behind the counter explained their menu and had me try a few samples...they make all of their sauces in house and I wasn't sure what I wanted. It can get a little pricey especially if you add avocado or extra crab but the quality is amazing. I ordered the Hawaiian tuna, salmon and yellowtail..perfect size and everything was so fresh!I also tried the sriracha aioli and spicy shoyu on the side..loved the flavors!
