Hadn't had breakfast yet, and a Lox Sandwich sounded awfully good, and I was passing Kokobelli's, so I decided to see if there had been any improvements from my last experience. Bad choice! It now appears that this Bagel Cafe has changed hands. Menu is no longer the same, slight remodel, and after having "their version" of a Lox Sandwich, I have concluded that they no longer are even using the same recipe for their bagels (very soft breadish), or Soft Cream Cheese. As for the "Lox Sandwich", the "toasted" bagel was almost mushy, the Cream Cheese was very, very, soft, and something I didn't think I would ever say, "excessive". And finally, the Lox was a real disappointment, very soft and mushy, like it's been frozen. Originally, the Lox Sandwich was served open faced, 2 halves, with the Lox split between the 2 bagel halves. This sandwich was made like a typical sandwich, and cut in half, but that's more of an aesthetic, not influencing the taste and quality. I've said it before, but this time was my final experience with this Bagel Cafe! So very disappointing! I do not recommend their "Nova Lox" sandwich, nor their Bagels anymore! read more

Kokobelli bagel cafe was my go to place for the past couple of years. Today was strike 3 for them. Over the past few months something has changed. Each of my last 3 visits resulted in my order being forgot or made wrong. Today I placed an order to go. They once again forgot about my order. After 15 minutes waiting at the counter they finally got me my bagel. I drove home from there only to be disappointed by my order. I ordered a bagel with eggs, bacon, cheddar cheese on a cheese bagel. My order came with a 2" thick lump of rock hard overcooked bacon in the middle and some sort of chive spread on top and bottom of the contents. It literally was dripping the sauce. I just threw it away and ended up eating a bowl of cereal instead. I am taking this off of my list of places to go get breakfast as this is strike 3. Sad read more

Bagel was tasty, you need to specify your bagel choice and how you want it otherwise you get what they serve. Plenty of lox,tomato and onion. Lox was fresh and not too salty. First time here! Great patio with cushiony comfy chairs! Lots of seating inside too! Staff very friendly. I had two bagels, an everything toasted with plain cream cheese, very generous schmear! Also had a great plain toasted pumpernickel/Russian bagel. Both very good! They have several coffee choices, I enjoyed a dark French roast that was very good! They also offer some breakfast and lunch items & soup! It's just 2.5 miles from home so I may enjoy early morning coffee & a bagel here once a week or so!, I love to relax and write & visit on patios and this one is perfect for that! read more

I love real bagels, and can't stand the ones from grocery stores that taste like nothing more than round bread. I'm so glad I stumbled across Kokobelli's, and will definitely be back. First of all, their bagels are delicious and there are many flavors I haven't seen anywhere else, such as the Hawaiian bagel. Second, they're bigger than those you get at chain bagel stores. Plus, they sell day-old bagels (half a dozen for $2.50) that are every bit as good as the fresh ones. The cream cheese list has new and exciting selections. I opted for the bacon and scallion. Quite yummy on a sesame bagel. I was there mid-morning and this place was quite busy. That's always a good sign. Kokobelli's is a cafe and has regular sandwiches, some on croissants. There was an array of acai refresher juices behind the counter. Even though she was busy, the owner took the time to answer my few questions about bagel choices. read more

Stopped by for a breakfast sandwich on a everything bagel, it was the most bland everything bagel I ever tasted. With every bite was expecting that great taste that wasn't there. Sandwich was the typical fast food style microwaved with premade eggs and a piece of paper thin sausage. Had to use some ketchup just to get a taste out of it. We've been here a couple of times and the bagels are decent. This morning after church we stopped in. My husband ordered the breakfast burrito. He asked if the potatoes could be cooked extra crispy. He was told by the cashier it wasn't possible as the potatoes are pre-cooked. Weird response, but ok. I ordered the bagel with the egg, sausage andnpepper jack cheese. We took it to go and came home to eat. My husband opened his burrito and noticed the potatoes were not golden brown. He bit into his burrito and the potatoes were raw. Needless to say the burrito was promptly thrown away. He was quite upset because the money was wasted and he was still hungry. My bagel was ok. The sausage doesn't have much flavor and they put cheddar cheese on the sandwich rather than the pepper jack. I think the bagel needed that pepper jack cheese to give it more flavor. I was pretty disappointed. I don't know that we will be returning. read more

My husband picked up some breakfast bagels from here awhile back and they were delicious!! So when we were craving sandwiches for lunch and searching on Yelp we came across this cafe and I wanted to go in for myself and give it s try. We arrived around 1:30pm and they were closing at 2pm so I was glad they still have a good amount of options to choose from (for bagels). They had a lunch special combo for sandwiches so we opted in for that. I got Reuben which was BOMB.COM along with a side of pasta salad and a chocolate cake. My husband got the turkey avocado with a side of chips and a chocolate cake. Everything was delicious except for the fact that I found hair in my chocolate cake. I was sooooo excited to eat it too because it was an unexpected surprise. Went there for sandwiches and came out with a cake - came up!! Hopefully next time I won't find anymore surprises in my food. Their blended drinks are also yummy but a bit on the sweet side so you have to like sweet to fully enjoy it. I just love Kokobelli. I am definitely a bagel girl in the bagel vs donut debate. While grocery store & chain bagels might get you by there's nothing like a local joint making their own. Kokobelli bagels are always so fresh. They are light & have that nice crunch on the outside like really good fresh bread has. They have a good selection of sweet & savory for both bagels & cream cheese. If you are a take homer there's good bundles including day old bagels & bakers dozen & half dozen. Our family favorite is the Hatch chili (surprise surprise). On the other side you can get you bagel toasted, topped or made into a sandwich your way right then & there. Staff has always been pleasant & has even thrown in a free thing of cream cheese here and there that just brightens your whole weekend. I honestly haven't had a single negative to report. read more

Fresh and fluffy... I did just drive by and noticed a small sign up front it said cafe. Then you pull into the driveway and notice a nice outside seating area. As you open the door the variety of fresh bagels are in baskets available for pick up by dozens too. We had 2 breakfast sandwiches and my husband wanted a danish too. Delicious! It's one of our go to places if we are in town visiting family. The menu has smoothies and coffee too. Every time we go there is a line but the orders go pretty quick. My favorite bagel cafe has died. I've been going to Kokobelli for 5 years now no less than 3 times a week. In that time my wife and I had nothing but amazing experiences Antonio the old manager even went so far as to always make my wife vegan treats even though they don't offer anything on the menu. During that time the employees always seemed happy to be there and to do their job so everyone was always very friendly. We literally couldn't have asked for a better weekend cafe. Then things changed. About a month ago I was shocked to show up and find out that all of the previous employees with the exception of one were now gone and the place was under new management and owners. Since that time i have been there 4 times and these have been the experiences. 1. Showed up to a line out the door, very odd, didn't notice the usual people and everyone that was there was very confused on what to do and refused to listen to the one old employee who was trying to help. The new manager was nice and greeted me everyone was polite they just had no idea what they were doing. 2. showed up to a line out the door again even though there was only 2 couples actually sitting in the cafe. When we received our food it was incorrect then the lady taking the orders proceeded to argue with me and tell me I ordered it incorrectly. Yep you caught us lady we ordered a cheese bagel with cream cheese for my vegan wife clearly we made the mistake it couldn't possibly have been you. After they finally realized they messed up our order then argued with us about it they remade the order again correctly only to have to wait for the coffee that went with the bagels because no one knew how to work the coffee machine. The manager also thought it was appropriate to latch onto my wifes upper thigh and tell her how soft her jeans looked as she rubbed her thigh. My wife has not returned since. 3. Walked up to the door, surprise line out the door again, waited for 10 minutes and about ten customers and was surprised by how fast everything was going only to be told when i got up to the counter to order that the credit card machine was down and it was cash only. i asked them how long that had been the case they told me all morning. If you guys knew this was the case why make people wait until it's their time to order? why not tell them as they walk in the door or put up a sign? 4. The last time. I called n and ordered a to go order. when i arrived the line was short, i was greeted by everyone as i walked in so far so good. As i stood in line i had 3 customers in front of me the first was already asking for the owners cell phone to complain, the second was given the wrong order, the third seemed to have no issues. When i got up to the counter my order wasn't ready because they gave it to someone else so even though i called a bagel and a danish order in 10 minutes prior to me arriving i still had to wait. It's really sad that it has come to this i don't really believe in bad reviews but this place has just fallen apart since the takeover. read more

My hubby and I went here to get 2 toasted everything bagels today at 10 am. I was bummed when they said they were all out of everything (my fave bagel) though and they said it would be 20-25 mins until they had more baked. I said ok we will wait, we can order two breakfast sandwiches while we wait for our 2 everything bagels to be done. So after spending $20 and an HOUR (yes it was 11am) waiting in the car since it was a TO-GO order we were super disappointed to have everything untoasted... I am very disappointed because I was really looking forward to trying this place out since its so close to my house. My hubby ordered all our bagels to be toasted. So for these bagels to be untoasted and take an hour after they said only 20-25 mins is really annoying. You would think for a Sunday morning they would actually have everything bagels prepared since thats one of the most popular bagels. Food quality would probably be good too if it was actually toasted and hot. After this experience and reading all the bad reviews I guess next time ill go to Einstein's or even just toast some bagels myself at home... I really really liked this bagel café until last week. My husband and I usually go here around once a month sometimes more because we enjoy their bagels i enjoy their coffee drinks. French Toast Bagel- duex s'il vous plait ! The bagels here are huge compared to other bagel places. They are crunchy on the outside soft warm and delicious on the inside (if you toast them). My favorite is the French toast, but they are all pretty great. They have a variety of cream cheese favors to choose from. I prefer peanut butter on my bagels! The OJ is fresh but a bit pricey. Oh my god, this place, so cute, so good! My bf and I were on a road trip, we were leaving Mesa to head toward Las Vegas. A solid brunch was definitely needed before the long drive.
