After a long day at work, I was in the area and figured I'd give this place a second chance. Verdict= read my first review. So my second attempt at trying this place faired slightly better than the first time, but not enough to make a difference. It is still extremely underwhelming for the high price tag with flavors that can stand out more and just another spoonful of sugar. I ordered taro milk $5 not bad and coconut pudding w taro $8.50. When I was eating the pudding with taro it suddenly hit me that the taro is similar to Che Hien Khanh, you Viet folks would know. Che hien khanh has this taro dessert with white crunchy fungus and a few dried jujube's that is 4x's cheaper... Yes the branding for koko is cute and it comes in a cute ziplock baggy but I honestly ponder if I can haggle for a cheaper price if they just give me the pudding in a solo cup and thank-you plastic to go bag. Plus, the more I think about this, I see more evidence to point to this as a rip-off. They are located in some random industrial building area shared by at least 5 tenants with a tiny overhead: no tables or chairs hence no need for extra space. Damn I'm cheap. read more

If you've ever eaten haupia from Hawaii before that's what this taste like with a softer texture. Add in a little bit of fruit topping and you have a nice refreshing dessert. The desserts here are quite large and you could probably share one between two people if you're not too hungry. I did not realize it until picking up my pudding but this is also being hosted from a ghost kitchen. There is a little bit of seating outside but the tables were all put away when I went. I tried the peach gum coconut pudding because the peach gum sounded interesting. The peach gum had a light flavor and reminded me of grass jelly. For the price, it seemed a little bit expensive, but was still nice to try. Driving there was easy and so was parking but going inside, there's really nothing saying what to do. I couldn't find someone to help me so I just ordered it on here online and waited outside until it said it was ready. Went back in again and still didn't see anyone to help me so I tapped the glass to get someones attention. They pointed at someone else and they came out to ask what I needed. I told them I was there for an order and it was ready and they gave it to me. The minus 1 star was for this experience. Now on to the 4 starts. This dessert is totally worth everything I went through up there lol. I don't like coconut. Not one bit but something about turning it into a pudding, adding fresh fruit just makes me fall in love with it every single time I have it. They come in these cool reusable containers that are all over the house now. They are opening new locations all around me so I hope they make one closer than next time. This place is super hidden away. They are located within a bunch of car businesses. They are actually in a shared building called The Hood. After being here, I would suggest placing an order online and then calling when you arrive for pick up. It was confusing when I pulled up and entered the building, almost embarrassing bc everyone there was looking at me and my friends like we weren't suppose to be in here, lol. Once we found the suite for Kokonut, we placed our orders. Took about 5-10 minutes to get our orders. The dessert itself, pretty good. The coconut pudding was definitely amazing, almost has a flan like texture, however the toppings I could care less for. Each cup is pretty small and costs $9.50. It's definitely worth trying, but to keep purchasing is a little much. Also, would not recommend stock-piling these desserts as they do recommend to consume within 24 hours. I tried this place for the first time when I found it on DoorDash. The puddings are absolutely delicious! I love that they are light, refreshing, and not overly sweet. Yes, the products are a bit pricey, but I think it is oh so worth it. I've tried Kokonut at the 626 night market and I have to say that the desserts are absolutely devine I love the taste it is not too sweet but there are plenty of ways to sweeten it if you have a sweeter taste. This location is tucked away between several high end car dealerships. So I would not have expected it to be there unless I looked for it. When I first got there I was surprised at the ambiance, it was just a kitchen and a door. And though the sitting area was well decorated with artwork, it was shared with other food sellers that had a similar setup. The worst part of this setup was that the ordering systems was very disorganized. We cannot order directly from an employee, but rather we needed to order online through a QR code that doesn't consistently work, and the workers do not know what the actual site the QR code represents. I ended up getting help from another patron. Furthermore when ordering for pickup the system is not functioning correctly. It will not allow us to pick a time earlier than 5pm though the worker said that it doesn't matter, just let them know the order was placed. However, once placed there was no receipt, nor proof of order. I had to show the employee the withdrawal from my bank account to prove that I had placed an order. I felt that the employees didn't understand how the point of sales sites work, but are just food prep. On the food side the employees were great and accommodating and friendly, allowing us to sample whatever we needed to place the correct order. They were also able to accommodate my needs in-spite of the convoluted ordering system. If I was ordering to sit or had time (rather than a lunch break) it would be great, however I feel that the ordering system is a the greatest hindrance to this location. Because the customer service was great but they were not able to help me placing an order, nor seemed to have an understanding on how to assist with ordering. read more

It reminded me of when the milk in Taiwan tasted really different (in a yummy way) than the milk in the US. So I just ordered this on Door Dash right now Cuz I was craving desserts. And came across KoKonut Dessert Bar - we got 2 coconut pudding with strawberries $11 for one. Gotta say it's kinda pricey! And I deducted one star for that. Yes I get it ordering for delivery will have its taxes and services fees and tips etc etc. so it comes out to be $12-$14 for one it's not too big of a plastic jar either BUT it's very tasty and delicious. I dusted it in one sitting. Those coconut flakes make it taste soooo yummy! The coconut was like a yogurt jello texture. Strawberries might not be in season Cuz they were kinda sour but still good. It comes with a small packet of toasted coconut and it added not just great flavor but also a great crunch. At $9.50 the price for the size is a little steep but the packaging is cute and seems that part of the pricing is because of the extra cost they put into the packaging. TLDR: It's not worth it, you're better off spending your money somewhere else. The price point got me absolutely dumbfounded as I'm sitting here re-contemplating my decisions. You're telling me for about $11, I get a 4 inch PLASTIC jar with about 1-2 inches worth of coconut pudding. Don't be fooled by other reviews, the jar is quite small, and I've taken a photo with a ruler for reference. For a brand that touts such a "healthy, guilt-free" dessert, I half-expected them to not only be health-conscious but environmentally conscious as well, but that's my mistake for having these expectations. The desserts come in an unsustainable bag as well, but I do understand that the bag's purpose is to preserve the dessert's quality, and keep it cold. However, the dessert could have just as easily been handed without the bag, I'm including this in my review because the bag just seems unnecessary and not eco-friendly. The dessert comes in a variety of options, and comes with a small packet of coconut flakes. Also if you're looking for a place to sit down and enjoy your dessert with a large group of people, this location is quite small and offers outdoor seating and like three bar stools inside. It's basically like a ghost kitchen (meaning it's similar to a food-service business that specializes in delivery/ online orders) Additionally, it's located near an airport so it's quite hard to have a conversation because of the planes if you're thinking of picking this place out for a date/hangout spot. The Mango Coconut Pudding - Taste: 4/10 The mango was disappointing, I had expected a sweet mango to compliment the coconut pudding, but was met with a mediocre, slightly sour mango that topped off as this place promises a "not too sweet" dessert. I was intrigued by this place, and convinced my husband to fetch me two that we could try. So off he went to retrieve a peach gum and taro coconut pudding and when he returned, I had mixed feelings... First off, my husband was not impressed with the price and that the container was plastic. I was meh about that. Then we tried both puddings and were not a fan. It was barely sweet, and the flavors were hard to distinguish. Fearing we had just wasted $20 bucks on blah pudding, we tucked them in the fridge to try again tomorrow. Now here is where the story changes: in the morning, before eating breakfast, I opened the fridge and decided to give these puddings another shot. I tried the peach gum and to my astonishment, it tasted better. As I kept eating it, I was able to pick up on the fresh, almost honey-like flavor of the peach gum mixed with the smooth light coconut pudding. The taro had a stronger flavor too, and again, the more I ate it, the more I liked it until suddenly I had eaten them both for breakfast. So what I have learned is that you need to know what you're getting, which is not a sweet dessert. It's also best cold, when the flavors have a chance to meld. But the more you eat it, the more you can appreciate it. Because now I actually crave it! Definitely come to Kokonut if you appreciate tropical flavors and new desserts, and just give yourself time to adjust your expectations. The packaging is cute and aesthetically pleasing but I think the pouch is not necessary and they use plastic jars. This place has super cute packing and I really enjoyed the aesthetics portion of it. The pros of this was the coconut pudding with the coconut flakes that the place provided. I thought that was really kind of them to do! The coconut pudding is soft and jello like and melts in your mouth instantly. The coconut flakes adds a crunch texture which brings out the coconut flavor. The only con I had about this was that the strawberries were extremely sour and in my opinion didn't go quite well with the coconut pudding! They were out of the mango one which I thought might've had a better flavor to it. In the end it's really just fruits placed on top of a coconut pudding which isn't anything special but I enjoyed the creativity of this and appreciated the hard work and thought put into it.
