We got Lahmacun, soup and Adana kebab. My kid loves cheese pide. The ambience is amazing. Owner Arash and his team are very good. Service is so quick and everyone smiles. I recommend here

For appetizers we ordered hummus and fried eggplant served with huge freshly baked pita bread that was out of this world. For entrees we got the lamb shank and chicken shish kabob. My husband and son said the lamb was one of the best...

best dishes they had ever had. The restaurant unfortunately missed the mark on the chicken which was extremely bland. It definitely needed some hot sauce and the yogurt sauce. Although the meat was extremely tender. Hopefully it was a one off? I see a lot of negative reviews on not getting an itemized bill. We received one that evening and paid after reviewing it. So I suggest asking if it really bothers you. We will definitely we back

Came across Kolbeh Turkish Restaurant while visiting Fair Oaks Mall and decided to give it a try for a quick bite. We ordered: -Veggie pide (4/5) - Loaded with vegetables and cheese, with great flavor. -Chicken shish kabob platter (4/5) - The meat was juicy and flavorful. -Turkish coffee (5/5) - A must-try with a very authentic taste. The service was friendly, and the food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. It's slightly pricey for the portion size, but I would definitely recommend trying this restaurant.

Very small and cozy Turkish spot, not necessarily authentic as the owner is Persian. The owner was extremely kind and hospitable with complimentary tea and exceptional service. Our food came out very quickly. While the chicken was lacking some flavor, overall I was impressed with the large portions for the platters and dessert was delicious!

Arash and team are the best in the area. Skip mezeh and the chains and go to an authentic, handmade and family owned Turkish restaurant. Brunch, breakfast, lunch or dinner, this place has it all including fresh made deserts. The staff are incredible as well. Thank you Kolbeh Team!

Greeted by the owner, seated immediately. This is a mall restaurant location, near a set of doors leading outside. Restaurant was clean, with customers but not supeOwner suggested lamb shank and sautéed beef tenderloin.delicious! The lamb shank was both flavorful and so tender I actually cut it from the bone with a spoon! Give this place a try!

We first heard about Kolbeh from a Yelp newsletter. After looking at their menu, we decided to give it a try. Plus, we hadn't been to the Fair Oaks Mall in quite some time and I was curious as to what stores and restaurants they had these days. Once inside the mall, I looked at a directory and saw it was across the hall from Sushi On. The spot it occupies once held a fast food Indian restaurant and the set up was still the same. When we entered, it was unclear if we had to order at the counter or if we were expected to be seated by a server. Turns out that the counter was for takeout orders. A server saw us looking around and she seated us. The menus are on the table in a napkin holder. We had looked at the menu online so we had a good idea as to what we wanted to try. For an appetizer, we chose to try "Muhammara" which consists of: "dairy free roasted red pepper spread with walnut, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, parsley, served with bread". FYI---the walnut consists of one piece on top of the spread. Also, a cucumber slice and 2 tomato slices were added. The bread arrived at the table piping hot with a nice crust and a soft interior. Some slices had black sesame seeds on top. We both really liked this appetizer. The flavors all blended well together. The garlic was in very small pieces and we could easily taste it but it didn't overpower the other ingredients. When we used up the bread, my husband just took the serving spoon and ate the remainder that way. For our entrees, we both chose the "Kiymali Pide" which consists of: "ground beef, cheese (we think it was mozzarella), tomato, onion, pepper, parsley" A small salad of sorts which is predominately sliced red onions, followed by a tomato slice and some arugula. A lemon slice also comes with this dish. Our server suggested we get lahmacun but while we like it, we wanted to try pide. My husband asked if we should share one or each get our own. She said to get your own as she thought it wouldn't be too much food. We both enjoyed the Pide as the amount of filling was just right. It was served fresh, right out of the pan. My husband easily ate his portion. I was starting to feel full at the end. We both wanted to try their baklava and were pleased that one order consisted of 2 small pieces---just right for the 2 of us! The baklava was fresh and crispy with a nice honey drizzle. I'm picky about my baklava as I grew up eating homemade ones. My grandmother and great-aunt would make them from scratch. The don't serve alcoholic beverages so we both ordered ginger ales. It turned out that the only had one bottle in stock so we shared it. Service was excellent---very friendly, polite and efficient plus the food was delicious. The place is a bit loud due to background music and not so great acoustics but not so bad that you can't have a conversation.

Having tried various items both in store and to-go, my recommendation for Kolbeh would the lahmacun and the pides, i.e. the Turkish flatbreads. The doner kebabs are for those who enjoy a thicker cut and heavier lamb to beef ratio. Friendly service and solid addition to the options at the mall right by the parking lot for easy in and out.

Whilst waiting for my daughter's iPhone repair, we needed nourishment. It was between lunch and dinner, so fairly quiet on a Tuesday afternoon. We were warmly welcomed by (what I assume was) the owner. Before we knew it, we had a freshly made meal brought to our table! This place is great. I had the sandwich (chicken) with French fries. My sandwich was delicious. Portion sizes are generous. My daughter had a kebab plate, also very tasty. French fries were delicious and served piping hot. This restaurant makes its own breads fresh. Homemade. Prices were $15-$20 range for sandwich platter or kebab platter. Generous portions. I would be interested in trying a Pide (kinda like a Turkish pizza) and can easily imagine it's great, too, This Turkish restaurant has only been open for a few months, and I wish them great success! There is attractive outdoor patio seating. It's right next to the big parking garage and - as you walk in the double doors- it's immediately to your right...very easy to park and just pop in. The owner said you can find them on grub hub and other delivery services. Thanks for a very nice late lunch/early dinner.

At first glance in I was greeted by what could only be described as family hospitality. My waitress was sweet and attentive, and answered all my questions. I was looking for some iskender, and Kolbeh did not disappoint. Their beef iskender is so tender, and the sauce and yogurt mix is absolutely tops in the area, I would take it home by the gallon if i could! I also got a shawarma wrap which was hot, with cooled pickled veggies and a great sauce. It's awesome this place is easy to find right at a mall entrance, a hidden gem in plain sight cause this is some of the best Turkish food I've come across. It was also nice that everyone on the staff (cook included came by the front) asked how everything was. There's a few tables, kinda feels a little crammed and narrow when you dine in, but I'm a big guy so I feel crammed everywhere I go. Anyways, one hundred percent will be back to try more things on the menu cause these guys do it right. read more

We had brunch here today and everything was amazing! Staff was great and friendly and the spread was amazing. We got the special Kolbeh platter, pancakes and omelette and everything was so yummy. We have to go back for their lunch and dinner cause the kabobs and sandwiches look amazing too! Great addition to the fair oaks area. read more

I rarely trust yelp reviews but thank god I did with this one. Don't even think about it just go, you won't regret it! This is a once in a blue moon type restaurant where you can never go wrong with a single item on the menu. From the appetizers to the mains to the dessert, they never missed not once and it all tasted so fresh! The service was A1 and made us feel very welcome and taken care of. And the ambiance was great aswell. If I could give it 10 stars I would. p.s. The Kunefe is a MUST TRY!!! We tried Chicken shish kabob, Mixed doner platter, Chicken shawarma, Meat Lovers Pide, and Kunefe all 10/10. read more

Kolbeh's food and service are outstanding. This is my second visit to this Turkish restaurant in Fair Oaks Mall. I had the doner kabob platter and fried eggplant. I only tried this restaurant because some of the reviewers claimed their Iskender was very "authentic", "just like in Turkiye", etc.. but alas it turned out to be just like the Iskender you find at any other Turkish restaurant in the United States: expensive, and so-so. And don't even get me started about their coban salad! read more

Nestled conveniently at the Fair Oaks Mall, with easy access from a spacious parking lot, this restaurant delivers a great Turkish dining experience. DO NOT go to this restaurant if you have a child and want to spend nice family time. Because if your child will make a noice they will kick you out!!! They kicked us out when my friend's child started to cry. We ordered a lot of food and could not enjoy it. We paid and promised that we will never go there again!!! read more

Kolbeh is a new Turkish restaurant located in Fair Oaks Mall near an entrance. It offers take-out counter service and tables with waitress service. We opted to sit and had a meatless lunch with lentil soup, fried eggplant, Gavurdagi salad (a chopped version of a Greek Village Salad of tomatoes and cucumbers), and fresh watermelon juice, followed by pistachio baklava and hot tea. Everything was fresh and tasty, served with a smile. A television screen showed a food tour of Istanbul, inviting you to eat more. We will return to sample a menu that includes Turkish breakfast items, sandwiches, pide, pizza, donner kebabs, and pastries with Turkish coffee and tea. Add Kolbeh to the growing list of excellent Turkish cuisine options in Northern Virginia. read more

I came with my service animal in my bag, but after I placed the order, they told me they didn't accept even if I had a service animal. We placed our order in bile and they kicked us out even before the food arrived. Not accepting a service animal is illegal. I will deal with this restaurant until the end. I will use all my legal rights. The owner and staff are so ignorant that they don't even know the difference between a service animal and a pet. I will write hundreds of comments so everyone knows what kind of people they are. I'm also gonna complain to the county. The restaurant owner cannot refuse to let a service animal into the restaurant. That is not allowing someone who needs a service animal into the restaurant and that is a form of discrimination. read more

REALLY good Turkish restaurant right inside fair oaks mall. It will definitely be competing with the much more expensive Istanbul Blue in Vienna, as the prices are much lower, the food is just as good and there's much more space to sit. Definitely worth checking out!! read more

The food they serve here is very good. For breakfast they have excellent options such as omelettes and toast available on their breakfast menu. For lunch and dinner there are several dishes you can choose from. Some of their tasty dishes include the lahmacun, cheese za'atar, adana kabob and chicken doner platter. Last week, based on Someone's recommendation, we went to this Restaurant in Fair Oaks Mall. The ambiance was good, the food was OK, but: 1- The price difference between the paper menu and what we were charged, was staggering. 2- There was no itemization of the stuff we ordered on the bill, just one figure that was shocking. 3- I didn't know about the amount that they charged since my sister paid for it and obviously didn't say anything until today, when I said we might go to the same restaurant again. She said that she was charged a total of $250.00. The said amount was for 4 people who chose from their lunch menu, which is typically less than the dinner menu. Just an example: The owner charged her for the appetizers that he offered, "I will get you something while you are waiting, on us". The bottom line: Be careful and make sure you check the prices first. read more

Excellent food and service! Top quality authentic Turkish food that reminded us of our time in Istanbul. The ingredients were fresh and the kabobs were perfectly grilled. The breads are made fresh on site as well. Our favorite menu item was the Turkish Breakfast! The owner is very generous and accommodating whether you are a family of 4 or a group of 15! read more

We were just walking around the mall & happened to try out this place, it definitely did not disappoint! A little pricey but worth it for a restaurant that serves the freshest ingredients! Never frozen, everything is hand made & fresh! We went in late afternoon so we had the place to ourselves but we've seen it be very busy other times. The service was excellent. We weren't sure if it was the manager or owner but he came to the table to greet us and chat with us and tell us about the food. Everything was just exceptional! read more

We went there last night for dinner. Food and staff are good. The Adana kebab was excellent. Shawarma was nice. But the unfortunate part is they charged us wrong. We ordered $96 worth food and the waitress got those handheld card machine where my husband could just see the total. They charged us $114. I was busy complimenting the owner for the food. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor season, with a full bars with TVs as well. There are two distinct lines, one for whole pies and one for by the slice. They also have a handful of combos which is the way we went. We got the pepperoni special (5/5) which was our favorite. The sausage and pepper (3/5) was solid but nothing special. Overall, the dough/crust was a perfect balance of crunch, chew, and substance. Already itching to go back and try other pizzas!

I sent an email request online and was contacted by a manager via phone to coordinate the details. School lunch times are ridiculously early and the staff came in an hour earlier than usual to make sure our order was ready to go by 10:15 am. Is that service or what? Everything was packaged beautifully so it was easy to serve, and the staff was so impressed by the quality of the subs and salads. Platters were plentiful and guests were able to go back for seconds which was amazing. Two small recommendations for next time: 1) Make sure to specify that the dessert tray is properly labeled. There were a few items with surprise nuts in it which could have been an issue if not spotted. 2) The catering menu mentioned that fruit salad would be served with the meal -- we got a few boxes of bananas instead which is a bit misleading.

The taste is not what I remembered, it's been a while since I've been here, but it's good pizza. One major change: Signage. Something outside that points the way, and a drink menu inside. If they are going to have a dining area, fill it out a little. Encourage people to eat instead of just takeout.

Third time we finally had a reservation and it still took us 20 mins to get seated as they did not have a table ready for us. To be honest the restaurant itself seems too small, they probably could be twice as big. The reason is the food at Genki Izakaya is in my opinion the best of the 3 Izakayas in the area. The Yakitori is good, hot and reasonably priced although I wish they would let you customize the $20 Yakitori Platter. I tried the A5 Miyazaki Wagyu Hot Stone and was surprised that they cook it for you instead of you cooking it yourself on the hot stone. The waiter overcooked 2 pieces of the Wagyu which is annoying when it is so expensive but overall it tasted great. I like their Tonkotsu Ramen, it broth tastes great and I've had ramen all over this area, in New York City, LA area, Tokyo and Kyoto. It isn't the best I've ever tasted but it is really good especially for this area. Once seated the service is good and the food comes out quickly and everything we've had has tasted great. The only problem is how crowded it can be because its so popular! Only bad thing for us is it isn't too close about a 45 min drive but worthwhile - definitely try it if you like Izakayas and Japanese food.

I've had the Pide (Turkish Flatbread), Adana Kebab, Ground Beef Yumurta, Sujuk Omelette, and don't get me started on the Doner! Friends of mine who originally come from overseas where Turkish food is prevalent, they are all in approval as well! I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. I ordered an İskender, but the döner meat was undercooked and heavily spiced. When I shared this feedback, it wasn't taken seriously at first. Later, the manager came and told me I should have asked for it to be well-cooked -- but the server never asked my preference in the first place. As someone familiar with Turkish cuisine, I know how İskender should be prepared, and this was far from it. The meat lacked proper flavor, the yogurt portion was very small, and the sauce was minimal. Overall, it was the worst İskender I've had in the DMV area. The service was excellent as well - as someone who is not familiar with Turkish food I was well directed to dishes that fit my palate. The service is very prompt and owner is very friendly and truly cares about his customers. He stopped by our table several times to see if all is good and if need anything. The waiters also to check on us several times. The best breakfast my family and I had in recent years. Previously we came here for lunch and dinner which we had the best experiences for lunch and dinner. The quality of the breakfast was unbelievably delicious just like their lunch and dinner. Absolutely amazing experience! This Turkish restaurant is a true gem. The food was incredibly delicious, full of authentic flavors it felt just like being in Turkey. This restaurant is the cutest thing! The food is amazing and you can watch them make it right in front of you. The servers and owner are all very friendly and are constantly checking to make sure you are satisfied with your experience. A friend and I shared a veggie pide, and it was amazing, and came out pretty quick, especially since they had just made it right then for us. We just discovered this restaurant and will definitely be back! The lentil soup with bread was excellent, and the fresh watermelon juice was refreshing. I mean....this place is AMAZING! This is not your typical "mall food". The staff is friendly and clean restaurant. The food, well it is nothing short of spectacular. This was our first time eating here and we loved it! We ordered pidas, donor kabob platter, lamb kabob platter and Kunefah. Everything tasted wonderful, especially the kunefah. It was not fresh, you could tell from the rice inside and the way the grape leaves broke when you bit into them. The fattoush salad didn't seem to have enough parsley and mint and it was most a lettuce salad. The adeni tea was plain weird. It didn't taste like tea at all. The kabsa felt like rice had been mixed with curry. I guess that's why the guy was asking how spicy we wanted it. Typically that is not a question when ordering kabsa. The lamb chops were not good either. The meat was tough, as was the meat for some of the other dishes. It's unfortunate because we were excited to try this place ever since we saw that it was opening. There was maybe 1 other customer when we were there and I guess it makes sense now. Hope they improve or else they are going to struggle.

With the change in location and ambiance, the food was still just as delicious, and I was pleased to have spoken with the owner (same ownership) letting her know I've been to the previous location many times. My SOA and I enjoyed our food so much we ate in silence lol. I let her know it was my birthday and she was so sweet in taking pictures with our slice of chocolate cake. Because of this and our conversation and of course, the wonderful food, I knew I made the right choice in coming back here, even from out of state. Despite a light crowd and high staff, nobody else notices / cares. Then... only 2 out of 3 entrees arrive. This also goes unnoticed and unchecked. When we finally flag down another waiter, it only gets relayed to our server, who shows up another 4-5 minutes later, confused about the problem. Rather than acknowledging that the order was lost and suggesting an alternative, the server rushes the third dish (without any communication), and it arrives after the rest of my party has finished eating. The obviously newer/younger female server is then confused that I no longer want the dish and disappears again. At this point, we've asked for the check 3x times from 3 different people. Our request to hostess staff to speak to the manager was also ignored. When we finally get the bill, the never-delivered entree is taken off, but it's now 745-8 pm. When I finally relay this to the manager walking out the door, he then whines that he has been lied to! Come on, man, it's your team lying to you / covering up their mistakes, so you've got a big culture problem! Used to like this spot, but will never ever return. Ruined what was supposed to be a celebratory dinner by the incompetence and indifference.
