Good for a quick fix or snack, but not sure if it's worth the price. The korean corn dog comes out fresh and the cheese definitely pulls, but it's not something you'd indulge in often. The place is small but it's usually busy when I've went.

Who doesn't like Korean Corndogs??? These were delicious. They also have fries and drinks on their menu. I ordered a strawberry matcha latte and that was so good. I paid $20 w/tax for my meal and it felt a little steep but remember these are made to order since you choose your filling, too, which is mozzarella, beef, or half & half.

The original and potato were generally flavorless outside of the exceptionally salty taste. Pretty sad looking inside - just a bit sterile. 6 KDogs took what felt like 20 minutes to come out and they weren't even the correct ones despite us being the only people in there. Pretty tough first experience

Like most I've seen this place on Tik Tok and knew I had to try it. I am a big fan of Corn Dogs and wanted to see what the hype was about. We went on a Sunday thinking it would be less crowded, but we were wrong. When we arrived, we ordered on the Kiosk. There aren't many tables so when someone finished, we quickly grabbed a table. It didn't take long to get our food. I Tried the Spaghetti Kong Dog with Beef, Original Kong Dog with Mozzarella, Original Kong Dog with Half Mozzarella and Half Beef and lemonade. They all were delicious and unique in their own way, but my favorite was the Spaghetti with the Beef. My Second Favorite was the Half and Half. The batter was sweet which gave it the perfect consistency with the salty cheese and beef. The Lemonade was very delicious it was the perfect blend of sweet and tang. The pricing was good, atmosphere was cool, and I had a great time at Kong Dog

I was driving back from the suburbs today and drove right past Kong Dog and decided to give it a try. I like that there's two kiosks by the window to order and peruse the menu. I ordered the original, half mozz half beef. My order took a little less than 10 minutes. The dog was good, I went in with zero expectations and didn't really know what I was in for. Was there sugar on it?! I think so. Honestly, not bad. There were so many different kinds I could choose from but I wanted to go with the OG first. I contemplated getting boba. But I decided to go to a neighboring spot for that instead. There were quite a few people dining in and a few people taking it to go, like me. The staff seemed nice and speedy.

This was fun snacks My husband decided to stop by here after buying drinks from next door. Service - it was on the slow side however he said, being it's still new, it was OK. It's not like an hour wait for the food so he was kinda ok. Price - I saw the previous review saying it's expensive. If you complaint about the price, I would suggest go to Costco and get a hot dog there. This is not a hot dog eventhough you have the option to put a sausage in it. I would say $6 is a normal price. Everything is pricey these days anyways. Blame it on the pandemic. Taste - I like the original better. My kids seem to like the spaghetti and the potato ones. Although we all agree that we all love it more without the sausage. So in conclusion, we will be back here. Just work on the service more to make it a bit faster

Kong Dog is a chain of Korean corndog restaurants, with locations primarily in the Midwest. Like most Korean corndog joints, you choose your flavor, and the filling (meat, meat/cheese, or just cheese). But unlike the places we have in LA, Kong Dog has some truly unhinged flavors like churro and spaghetti. They also offer a good selection of milk teas. I placed an order for delivery to my Chicago hotel, which is where I went wrong. Korean corndogs are one of those foods that need to be eaten within 10 minutes of being made. After that, the cheese solidifies, the oil starts to separate, and the toppings start to disintegrate. I repeat, do not order delivery from here. Regardless of the diminished quality, the dogs were all very good. The Hot Cheetos was decadently savory, the Injeolmi creamy and nutty, and the Rainbow (fruity pebbles) a wonderful sweet/savory combination. The Matcha Milk Tea was watery, but decent in quality at this price point. I will definitely try Kong Dog again properly at some point.

Finally got to try the tik tok craze, Kong dog! I actually drove by while in the area and cut across traffic to stop by. I was a little disappointed that they allow their patrons to cause so much commotion in their lobby! That alone will make you change your mind about stopping. Aside from that, their store is super cute. There's wall for content seekers. Real animated like you'll see it on the movie Good Burger. Now for the corn dogs....they were good! You have the option of selecting a corn dog with a full hot dog, half hot dog/half cheese or cheese only. I suggest getting the half and half. You enjoy the cheesiness at first but the hot dog is amazing or as my daughter says, Fye! Check them out!!!

These Korean corn dogs were great. The potato one was very filling, even with the cheese only, and the hot Cheetos dog was great as well. They're usually pretty busy, but that is to be expected. Overall, it's good for just stopping in for something light and different. Definitely will go back.

So happy to see Korean hot dogs becoming more popular in America, because they're absolutely delicious. Kong Dog is a chain with multiple locations in Chicago (not sure where else). They have several different kinds of hot dogs, though I tend to skew towards the sweeter ones. I know sugar or sweetened condensed milk might sound weird on a corn dog, but it's so good. I chose the injeolmi kong dog which has injeolmi powder and sweetened condensed milk and it was amazing. I also got it with half dog, half cheese: the best of both worlds. I wish they had a few more condiments like cheese mustard (I've seen this other places) to add, also wish the condiments didn't cost extra but that's not too big of a deal. Can't wait to come back and try other flavors!

I had never had Korean corn dog's before and this was so good! Definitely so much better than a traditional American corn dog. I had the potato kong dog with half cheese and half sausage. The chunks of potatoes on the outside added a nice texture and crunch! The cheese had the perfect pull and texture. Overall really enjoyed this!

Since attending a Yelp Event involving the Kong Dog (Glenview) location, I have been in search of a location in Chicago. I found that this location in Chinatown and the University Village one was the closest to where I spend my time the most. After leaving my barbershop which sits just short of a mile away, I visited as a follow up to try options I noted after visiting the Glenview location. To make this visit painless, I ordered takeout via Yelp which is very convenient when on the go. I was bummed to find out that this location does not have the whole plant-based sausage filling option as like the Glenview location does. So, I ordered whole mozzarella cheese as my filling with an original kong dog, and a sweet chili doritos kong dog. While eating I had the biggest smirk on my face while trying not to make a mess. With every bite of the sweet chili doritos kong dog, grinded up sweet chili doritos flaked off as its mozzarella cheese filling stretched from the kong dog to my mouth after each bite. The original kong dog was sweet and good, but nowhere near the taste of the sweet chili doritos kong dog. I left the parking lot of this location with the biggest satisfying grin on my face. All in all, I had a pleasant ordering experience with Kong Dog (Chinatown). And as stated in this review, I enjoyed my meal and would surely order from again whenever in the area or at any other Kong Dog location. ~Blessings~ Thomas G

Cute little shop and perfect spot to grab a snack. We ordered their half and half sugar corn dog and it came out quickly. They have plenty of seating at the counter tops are tables. Everyone was also friendly and I loved that they dressed up for Halloween!

The atmosphere, history, and overall hype surrounding it definitely add to the experience. However, in my personal opinion, the ambience and reputation outweighed the actual quality of the food! I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich combo along with a classic hot dog. The customer service itself was actually very nice and prompt. The cashier helping me was friendly enough to let me sample their spicy chipotle-style sauce/spread that comes with the chicken sandwich, and honestly, that sauce was delicious. That said, I have to admit the hot dog itself was pretty underwhelming. I know Chicago-style hot dogs are iconic, but I personally felt like I've had better-tasting hot dogs from a Dodger Dog or even Costco. The relish here tasted oddly artificial to me -- almost like a strange paste consistency that I just couldn't get into. Maybe it's just my Los Angeles taste buds talking, but honestly, some of the best hot dogs I've had are from the street vendors off Hollywood Boulevard with the grilled onions, bell peppers, mustard, mayo, ketchup... you know exactly the kind I'm talking about!! Overall, I'd still recommend trying this place at least once simply because it's such a well-known Chicago institution, but for me personally, the food didn't fully live up to the hype.....

They have won several awards for their sandwiches and are said to have the best Italian Beef in Chicago. With all this being said, this was certainly a must eat on my trip! Their menu consists of their famous Italian beef, along with Chicago dogs, burgers, sausage sandwiches, chicken, and fries. There is definitely something for everyone here. The inside is casual and reminiscent of a fast food eatery. Really liked the yellow accents throughout the restaurant. I will also note that it was extremely clean inside, which is always appreciated. Ordering is simple and they will call your ticket number when your food is ready. All the food is served made to order and very fresh and doesn't take too long to come out! I ordered the Regular Beef, wet, with both hot and spicy peppers per the workers suggestion. Ordering the sandwich wet simply means the bread is dunked in the gravy/aus jus. If you want the real deal, this is how you order it. The peppers are optional as well, but complete the sandwich. The sandwich consists of their famous Italian beef roasted and sliced, served on freshly baked French bread. I can see why this sandwich is so highly regarded. The Italian beef that is made in house each day is tender, flavorful, and just perfect! It isn't chewy or tough either. The sweet and spicy peppers paired nicely with the savory beef. And the fresh French bread covered in the gravy--phenomenal! The gravy adds a lot of flavor to the sandwich. You do have to eat it quickly, otherwise the bread will fall apart, oh but it is so worth it. I got fries with a side of cheese sauce to go with the sandwich. By far some of the best fries I've had. Not super crispy, but not soggy either, the texture was just right. They were salted perfectly and dipping them in their velvety cheese sauce was a treat! A regular sub is roughly 6 inches and quite filling. The sandwiches are stuffed with ample amounts of beef. The price is also excellent considering how much you get. Overall, I would say Al's Beef lived up to all its praise. My sandwich was very memorable and was like nothing I'd had before. Everything is so fresh, between their beef, bread, and fries, it is all made in house. This isn't just some fast food spot, it is an institution. I was impressed with everything I ordered, especially the fries. They take a lot of pride in what they serve. This is evident in their customer service.
