Worth the visit! Very refreshing and tasty twist on classic poke! My partner and I wanted to try out a new place and Konpa Nikkei intrigued us. The restaurant is on the a main street with street parking and I believe a small lot behind. We ordered the Konpa, Maki, and Life changing pickles. Konpa- freshest, plumper cuts of tuna. The sauces were so tasty and quinoa made the meal so healthy. The star of this dish is the chili crunch! It added such a nice kick of texture and flavor to the milder fish/veggies taste. Maki- salmon pieces were thick and fatty. Everything in the bowl felt healthy like the Konpa. Saucing could be a bit heavier as a yuzu was a bit light. Pickles- personally, not lifechanging. But nevertheless, extremely addicting cucumber and white radish combo. The pickled ginger in the bowl was sweet and very mild in sharpness. It really complimented the other salty pickled items. I would definitely reorder this. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu.

This is a stellar spot! I had a wonderful experience here. I ordered the Nikkei bowl: I got it with half quinoa and half fresh greens. The amberjack sashimi was plentiful and absolutely delicious. I truly enjoyed the green/red tomatoes paired with the fresh sashimi. The best part about the experience was the sauces. I love when a restaurant gives you sauce options to experiment with. The aji crema is my number 1. The other two are also delicious. I had a great time sitting at the counter and watching the passing traffic outside.

Avid lover of poke, and I come to say that this place does not disappoint! Their slices of fish are more like sashimi, but the quality outshines the small quantity. For the main entrees, we ended up getting the Konpa that came with tuna and some delicious crunch chili oil and the Maki that came with salmon (plus my favorites: cucumber and avocado). As for the sides, we got the lomo saltado papas crisp musubi, which was just okay to me-- nothing too special. The side that I did love and would recommend though was their mac salad! Service was quick and friendly and the overall ambiance of the restaurant itself felt modern and personal since the seating was up and front with the person taking your order and serving you. We ordered take-out since we wanted to eat everything by the beach but would love to sit down one time and take in the whole experience.

Konpa Nikkei is such a cool spot! The vibe is modern but relaxed and the menu is great. I had the Sol wrap and while it was fresh and tasty, I found myself wishing there was a little more fish inside (but that's everyone's dream). The sauces were so good: aji amarillo, rocoto shoyu, and verde crema each added their own flavor and it was fun to try them all. I just wished there was a spicier option to kick it up a notch. Service was awesome. Even though we came about 40 minutes before closing, the staff was kind, welcoming, and did not rush us at all. Overall, Konpa Nikkei is worth checking out if you want something different from the usual sushi spots. Fresh flavors, great sauces, and genuinely good service make it a place I would return to, hopefully next time with a spicier sauce and a little more fish in the wrap.

Get yourself to this restaurant! The food is so good! We ordered the Lomo Saltado musubi, Sol sushi wrap, and Konpa Poke bowl. The Lomo Saltado was so tender and paired with the Peruvian dipping sauce was so tasty! The Konpa poke bowl had a good amount of tuna and it was so fresh. The crunchy chili oil gave it a nice spicy flavor! The Sol sushi wrap was so good and refreshing. The tuna and salmon were so fresh. The restaurant has bar seating only. Decor was very modern minimal. The restroom super clean. There may be a wait when you order, but the wait is worth it! Very attentive and helpful staff. Grab a seat, relax, and enjoy the food! Happy Nom Nom!

Freshest fish in a quaint restaurant with table top seating only. The environment is welcoming and clean and everyone was super friendly. The fish is fresh and the food flavorful! We have been back one more time and it was just as amazing as the first time.

Konpa Nikkei is heaven in Corona Del Mar. The space is intentionally designed with a long, welcoming bar that encourages conversation and connection. You feel it right away in the way the team works...talented, warm, and proud to serve some of the freshest, butteriest fish I've had in a long time. Finally, something truly unique in the heart of CDM. I started with the escabeche spice pickled carrots and onions--perfect crunch, bright flavor, fresh and addictive. Then came the life-changing pickles, and they really lived up to their name. Layered with ginger and a sprinkle of ume plum, every bite had depth and balance. For entrées, the coliflor was a standout. A bed of greens topped with Japanese mushrooms, Latin squash, and a medley of vegetables that brought spice, richness, and comfort. It reminded me of a Caesar but healthier, layered, and more flavorful...it's a dish I'd come back for regularly. We also tried the aji poke bowl with kimchi and tuna, and the fish was buttery and clean, lifted beautifully by the spice and crunch. The sushi-style wrap was unforgettable. We had the salmon, paired with pickled cabbage, avocado, and their Aji Verde Crema, which bursts with cilantro and jalapeño. This is the dish I'd recommend if you order nothing else...memorable, balanced, and absolutely delicious. We ended with the yuzu cheesecake, light and fluffy with just the right citrus lift to close out a fresh, vibrant meal. Service was standout throughout, and the manager's warmth made the evening feel personal. I left loving not just the food, but the vibe...thoughtful, connected, and unlike anywhere else in the area. I've been back multiple times and it's been consistently incredible!

A very different kind of poke bar! Feels like you're walking into a sushi bar. It's cozy, casual, and hip. You can feel that every part of this restaurant was put into place with intention. From the style, color, space to the type of utensils they use, their trays...even their bathroom is beautiful! This is the place to go for some really fresh and delicious poke and Masubi! We got the Konpa Bowl, Amante Roll, Lomo Saltado Papas Crisp Masubi, and the OG Spam Masubi. It was plenty for the 2 of us! Made by the Chef who is Japanese and either came from Peru or lived in Peru (hope I didn't get this wrong). He put both cultures together and came out with this special menu! Also, it's reasonably priced and they provide great service. Their signature sauces are a must-have, especially their Aji Verde Crema. The tuna in the Konja bowl and the amberjack in the Amante roll was so soft and buttery! We came during lunch on a Saturday which is always a busy time around that location but we were able to find parking. There's parking on bayside and there's also other street parking!

Konpa bowl with salad and quinoa! Perfect!

So fresh food and very clean inside . Also service is very good . Food plating is simply beautiful ! Very satisfied! Definitely recommend!

Great food, great service. Everything tasted fresh and healthy. Got the salmon bowl and short ribs masubi. Friend got the konpa bowl. It was great as well! Very clean. Only bar seating. Couple of blocks from the beach. Easy street parking on a weekday evening.

Loved the vibe here and really appreciated the creativity, especially with the Peruvian influences on the menu. The miso potato soup was flavorful, though a little salty, and the sushi burrito style hand roll could've used more fish. The sauces sounded exciting... the Rocoto soy and aji amarillo passion fruit, but both lacked the spice (you traditionally see with these Peruvian peppers), however the traditional green sauce was yummy. The chicha pineapple drink was refreshing and delicious. Overall, it's a great spot with lots of potential, and I'd love to see bolder flavors and some alcohol options added to the menu.

Absolutely loved this place! The fish was incredibly fresh, you can really taste the quality in every bite which I feel is hard to come by! Everything we ordered was flavorful, well-prepared, and clearly made with care. One thing that made a huge difference for me was the parking situation. They have super convenient parking behind the restaurant, which made getting in and out so easy! Especially since I had my two toddlers with me. Between the amazing food and the family-friendly convenience, this spot is definitely a winner. We'll 100% be coming back!

We came here on the way to the beach because of all the raving reviews - it did not disappoint. The fish is so high quality. Ordered a konpa poke bowl and the tuna was incredibly tender and buttery - loved the pairing with the tomatoes and Peruvian quinoa; tasted so healthy! A bit on the pricier side for the portions but quality was top notch! Love the interior too, it's very sleek modern aesthetic that's intimate with a small space.

Honestly I've had Peruvian food with more flavor profiles and payed a little less, the chicken was a little dry and did not have that Peruvian, you usually get some good spices and citrus with Peruvian food and it felt closer to fajitas with French fries. The yuca fries were actually done really well but came with no sauce or dip and the empanadas were good but fell apart t very quickly. The filling was good and there was a whole green olive inside that had more flavor than the meats. I would have chopped up the green olive, and integrated it more. Lastly the fried rice was pretty good to be honest ... I think that was the best thing I had while there but it did need some of that spicy kick. Open on holidays like July 4th, like a true Asian restaurant! Got the: 1. Cajun green beans ($14): 9/10, the lemon pepper butter sauce was scrumptious, I even wanted to add rice to it. -1 for green beans that are on the old side and the ends weren't chopped off. The corn nuts on top are meant to give a nice crunch, and while they tried to crush it, it's still too hard for my liking, so we mixed it with the sauce so it could soften up. 2. Seafood soup ($26): 7/10 and not worth the $26, as the swai fish is very little, you get only approx 4 shrimps, and the owner couldn't allow subbing calamari for more shrimp as he explained that the seafood is all pre-portioned out. The soup is very sour like Tom yum but it had too much lemongrass and was too sour for my liking. It came with 3 pieces of cucumber that could rival Ding Tai Fung and spicy sauce that seemed like their rendition of Lao gan ma. The price would've made me -1 but they get a +1 for the cucumber and Lao gan ma type spicy sauce, otherwise it would've been a 6/10 for me. 3. Mushroom & Beef Stir Fry ($23): 9/10, the beef reminds me of shaken beef and the sauce is very flavorful of beef. Love that the rice is delicious chicken rice, it's so addictive! If the mushroom was more umami it would take this up to a 10. 4. Garlic Noodles with Prawn ($22): 10/10, my second favorite on the menu (my fav is still the discontinued mushroom soup) and out of all the garlic noodles I've had, this is the best one. It's garlicky, the noodles are perfect texture, and the shrimp are large and crisp. I've been ordering garlic noodles at every Viet restaurant I've been to and haven't met a better executed one 5. For dessert, pistachio mouse cake ($12): 10/10, never knew pistachio and berries are a good combo but it was so mind blowing! The pistachios had the perfect crunch, and the wild berry sauce helped cut the richness of the cake. I only wish there was 2-3 more pieces of strawberry as it is the perfect accompaniment to cut the richness of the mouse cake. TLDR: summer menu is worth a go (minus the seafood soup) and please bring back the mushroom soup!!

There was plenty of sauce from the stir fry for the extra portion of rice I ordered. I plan on ordering the Lomo Saltado next time. The staff were polite and efficient. Plenty of parking in their lot. Definitely on the list for the next time I am in the area.

Better than any other place I have tried this dish at. Perfect blend of each ingredient. The sweet then spicy chiles that come on the side compliment this meal. Add the green sauce they serve and you have a fire worth fighting. I definitely recommend this dish if you stop by here. Tallarin verde con lomo- the lomo was delicious but the pasta was a little too harsh on the pesto. Still good though. Menu is limited but if you're into lomo you should give this place a try. They take good care of everyone that comes in. Small little spot that has calm energy and good vibes. Not a lot of space but a lot of flavor that will bring you back.

Since we had never tried Peruvian food before, we decided to give this place a try -- and we're so glad we did! As soon as we walked in, we noticed the ocean-inspired décor -- seashore elements, fish, seashells, and fishing nets on the walls. It gave the restaurant an exotic charm and made the cozy space feel warm and inviting. We ordered the signature Ceviche 19, Pulpo a la Parrilla, Arroz con Mariscos, and Tamal -- definitely more than enough food for the two of us, but we wanted to try a variety of dishes. The food arrived surprisingly quickly. The moment we saw the generous portions and smelled the aromas, I had a feeling we had found a hidden gem. Every dish tasted delicious, and some flavors even reminded me of food we enjoyed in Spain. It's honestly hard to pick a favorite because everything was so good. The ceviche came with such generous portions of fish -- it felt like fillets from an entire fish! The Pulpo a la Parrilla was unique and beautifully prepared, with a variety of vegetables including tomatoes, potatoes, green onions, and huge Peruvian corn. The Arroz con Mariscos was rich and flavorful, and the seafood tasted incredibly fresh. We would definitely recommend this place and look forward to bringing family and friends back to try it!
