great service, great vibes, and delicious breakfasts at this hidden little spot above the QFC.

    Burrito bowl

This tiny cafe above a grocery store is adorable! It's a one man show. One guy taking the orders and making everything himself. So do be prepared for a slight wait. But the food is well worth it. Plenty of open seating/tables. We ordered the burrito bowl with sausage and avocado, veggie breakfast burrito, harvest squash cake, and a cinnamon roll. For drinks we got a matcha latte and a mocha. The burrito bowl was very filling. It feels a little more lunch than breakfast but that's on me. I was told the veggie burrito was also good! Also it did not come with any salsa. The matcha latte was unsweetened. So you can add your own preferred sweetener. The mocha was good. The cinnamon roll was really good! It was very flaky like a croissant. It's different from what you might imagine as a traditional cinnamon roll. Very glad to have stopped by here!

the food is amazing and the owner is so nice!! i loved being here. also the cold brew is so so so good but dont get it bc you have to save it for me

I ordered the egg breakfast sandwich with bacon and avocado and it was absolutely delicious! Honest working man making good food. Respects to him as he takes all the orders by hand plus cooks, and cleans. There were a few people ahead of us in line and I was with three other people yet the food still came fast and all together around the same time. Plenty of seats around as well with self serve water cups. If I lived nearby I would go often!

My daughter brought us here for breakfast--one of her go-to spots in her neighborhood--and it did not disappoint. We ordered the made-to-order breakfast burritos with bacon, sausage, eggs, and cheese, along with a vanilla cappuccino, vanilla latte, mocha latte, and a little side of Cinnabon. Everything was delicious and satisfying, exactly what you want from a solid breakfast spot. A fresh salsa would've been the perfect finishing touch to the burritos, but honestly, we still loved every bite. Rodney and his sister were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Overall, a great local spot that we'd happily return to.

    Turkey Sandwich, sausage breakfast bowl

We decided to stop here before heading to MoPop. Definitely worth every penny! Our food was so delicious, you can taste the high quality ingredients! The seating area is nice and the owner is efficient and friendly!

    Latte

Fresh food. Very personable staff. Great coffee drinks. Very glad to have found this place. Upstairs from the grocery store. Much better experience than corporate coffee places...

    Double shot caramel latte

The owner is so cool, coffee is awesome he does heart latte art! The bacon egg and cheese is my staple. Plus there's always parking in the QFC parking garage. Highly recommend!

Bacon egg and cheese sandwich with (if I remember correctly) garlic aioli and a vanilla latte

The owner was so friendly and makes great food and coffee. The breakfast sandwich paired with the vanilla latte tasted amazing. Inside was very clean. There's even station set up where you leave your dirty dishes.

One simple, but delicious Turkey and Arugula Salad with a freshly made iced tea. Highly recommend.

So, what went well, and what has plenty of room for improvement? SERVICE - 5/5 The staff was super friendly and just really cool! I especially appreciated that he grabbed the pain au chocolat from the back at my request. I did not want mine touching the almond croissants displayed so closely together. I wanted a pain au chocolat, not an almond pain au chocolat. Sorry! AMBIANCE - 4/5 A very busy bakery/café located at Pike Place Market, near Starbucks. I liked the wall décor and the overall cozy vibe. Finding an empty seat may be a challenge? KOUIGN-AMANN/PAIN AU CHOCOLAT/MERINGUE - 2/5 Kouign-amann - 0/5 It pained me to give a kouign-amann such a low score, especially because it is my all-time favorite pastry. But this one was so subpar that I could not even finish it. It was, frankly, a complete waste of butter, flour, sugar and labor. I once lodged a complaint with a GM and Director of F&B at a certain Ritz-Carlton because their kouign-amanns were so bad that I asked them to stop whoever was making them. Since then, there has been a huge improvement, and that is what genuine feedback should accomplish. Pastry integrity is of utmost importance, and pastry crime is hardly forgivable. Pain au Chocolat - 2/5 Doughy and deeply disappointing. I simply cannot reconcile this with the fact that Le Panier has supposedly been a beloved fixture of Seattle's food scene since 1983. MERINGUE -- 5/5 Can anyone possibly mess up a meringue?? It is extremely disappointing to visit what is supposed to be a legendary, quintessential French bakery in Seattle, only to find that the two pastries I was most looking forward to, the kouign-amann and pain au chocolat, were both such letdowns. A café/bakery cannot survive on service and ambiance alone. The pastries have to deliver too. Time to rehone the baking skills, Le Panier.

Overall, I'd say their pastries were generally good not great and were significantly sogged up by 12:30 PM when I grabbed em. Their patisserie is stronger than the pastries IMO and while I wouldn't wait in a crazy line, it's still lovely neighborhood spot and perhaps the pastries are a better texture earlier in the day. Highlights: - Miso Roasted White Chocolate Cronut: My favorite item in their current rotation. The cronut was a tad soggy, but the buttery texture inside is still satisfying and the miso white chocolate filling is lusciously smooth and perfectly balanced between savory and sweet. - Blackberry Corn Mousse Cake: Blueberry mousse is the perfect fluffy texture and the corn is very subtle. The sponge cake is light and perfectly contrasts against the bottom layer of crunchies to add a bit of variety. - Blueberry Corn Croissant: Pastry also held up quite well on this one with the outside still being quite crisp. The inner cream unlike the mousse cake is very corn forward with a bit of blueberry jam to balance it out. Skip: - Black Forest Cake: Found the cake to be a bit too firm with the cream filling to be a little bland and too firm as well. Just wanted this to be better than it was. Also, it looks totally different from the photo on their website heads up. - Tomato Basil Croissant: Just found this to be off ratio wise. The only tomato is the 3 small quarters of cherry tomato at the top and a light smear of basil cream. I can see this being very good, but current form factor isn't doing it any favors.
