Communication is excellent, espcially adding another room last minute and letting Carlo know about it, and apologizing because I didn't realize how much stuff my family had in the attic. He messaged me back and told me that they will take care of it. They arrived on time and worked hard and did everything from wrapping, boxing everything up, moving everything to the other house, and unloading while leaving everything organized in one area. Was widely impressed with Kora moving. They showed up 30min early. I told them I wasn't ready for their arrival, and they said "No problem at all. We'll be here when you're ready." They did not charge me for the time before they started working. They worked quickly and diligently the entire time. They did not stop for food or drinks - they were like working machines. SO friendly. They treated my valuables with great care. We were all worried that I had too much stuff to fit into the POD storage unit. I have a 1-bedroom apartment and got the largest sized POD. I had a lot of stuff and knew I would be on the border of needing a second storage unit. They packed everything securely and safely and it all to fit. I couldn't have been more impressed. All around was a good experience. Moving can be so stressful, and hiring experienced and caring movers like Kora was the best decision. They made a stressful experience as pleasant as it could be. My husband and I have moved numerous times. We moved out of a 1 bedroom apartment with a bathroom, living room and dining room. So needless to say we had a lot of furniture. We had to make two stops and they were okay with that. We moved from Oakland to Dublin. They were totally okay with that. They moved so quickly! They even set up my desk and dresser. Which I thought was really nice. They had extra boxes for us and even wardrobe boxes. They know moving is a crazy time and work to make sure the move was easy enough. Two jobs so far, and really like working with the Kora crew. First job was to set up a room, moving some heavy stuff around in order to pull up old rug, lay down new one, put together bookcase, etc. Quick and easy, no fuss. Second was packing up a kitchen and DR -- a LOT of glassware and breakables -- and moving to the basement in prep for a paint job. The Kora team did terrific work -- took great care even though the boxes weren't going far, let me know when they encountered some things that had chips, marked and labeled everything clearly. This was the first time my bf and I hired movers as we needed help carrying all our furniture up two flights of stairs to our new apartment. We checked around several different services in the Bay Area and found Kora Moving to be the most affordable option - and they had the best reviews! I think I talked with Carlos when scheduling. He was very responsive in answering our questions and provided a quote of services within a couple hours of me calling to inquire about pricing. We were quoted: 2.5 hrs minimum charge $100/hr for a two man crew + an additional charge for 45 mins drive back to base ($75 this might seem a bit much but total charges still ended up cheaper for us than what other services quoted us). They provide at no additional cost: - Professional moving equipment (moving blankets, moving truck and wardrobe boxes) at no additional cost - Furniture disassembly & assembly They do have mattress bags they sell for $8 if you need them as well. Optional: Basic insurance cover $.60 cents per pound per article no additional cost Methods of payment: - Cash (RECOMMENDED!!!) - Check and credit card with 5% additional in credit card The day of the move: We worked with Joel & Alfredo on the day of moving. Both were super friendly and professional. They arrived in a huge 22 ft truck that just barely fit in our apartment's loading dock. The size of the truck made it very easy to arrange all of our belongings safely & securely. For reference, we were moving from a studio to a 1 bedroom apartment and had a decent amount of stuff. There was plenty of room after the truck was fully loaded; it was probably only half full. Once they arrived, they promptly set to work wrapping furniture and bringing it down to the truck. I noticed that they were organized and very coordinated in how they worked together. Overall it took 2.5 hours to pack up and arrange furniture into the truck. They stacked smaller items into big cardboard boxes that helped keep more valuable items from shifting. Their packing skills were impeccable. None of the stuff they packed had any damage at the destination, some of the stuff I packed however didn't fare as well. At our destination, I was sooo impressed at how they carried boxes and very heavy furniture up 2 flights of narrow stairs. They were able to carry by themselves pieces that my bf and I would have to carry together... on their backs. It was wicked crazy seeing that! The unloading took 1.5 hours to complete. My bf and I did help to carry smaller boxes upstairs however which lessened the total time they charged us for. Final Pricing: 4 hours + additional 45 mins (.75 hr) to drive back to base: 4.5 hours = $475 We are so happy to have hired Kora Moving and highly recommend it to others that need help moving! read more

I worked with Carlos and hired Kora moving back in July and have to say they were absolutely amazing. I needed last minute movers who carried adequate insurance for my apt building and would fill out the required forms. They did it within hours for a next day move. The movers that came were super professional and efficient. They didn't complain when one piece didn't fit in my apartment and offered to hold it in long term storage for a very small monthly fee. Finished with move and promised you all an update, so here goes: Moved from condo to house and then took some items (furniture) to storage. Communication with Carlos was spot-on. He gave me a window of time, called when they were on their way, and arrived when he said they would. Clean truck, clean moving blankets, they brought LOTS of tape and plastic, the 3-man crew were all clean, all spoke English and Spanish and coordinated the move together like a well-oiled machine - they clearly work together often: these aren't guys they pick up off a corner - these are employees. All 3 were fast workers, everything was wrapped and protected, and they got it all to fit in the truck. I tried to be organized for my move - My stuff was packed, my load was divided between items going to house and items going to storage. Small items were put in ziplocs in boxes, so they wouldn't fall out. Anything not going on the truck was clearly segregated so it wouldn't accidentally get picked up and added to the load. Even so, I found I had some boxes that I last-minute decided to have them take, and had a few things mixed up here and there. Carlos and crew were patient with me, cheerfully loaded the extra boxes, and helped get things straightened out as to what went where. Great service, all of my stuff is safe and damage-free, they put the shelf pins with the shelves, and bolts with the table legs - no searching for things when trying to set up furniture - and they were careful with walls and floors at condo and house. Pricing was stated up front, well-explained, no surprises at end, names of movers are on the invoice, and basic insurance is provided with rates. They're a fairly new company, but the owner has years of experience working for other movers, and the other 2 guys seem to, too. I'd recommend these guys to anyone! TOTALLY worth it! read more
