Corned Beef on rye, Mac salad and Diet soda

4.0 stars for the food and price 2.9 stars for the facility 3.8 stars for basic counter service. Overall recommend. Very Small, strip mall type, old style kosher deli near the now (August 2026) shutdown DMV office in Laguna Woods on Moulton Parkway between Lake Forest Dr and El Toro Rd Same complex as Savers, Polly's Pies and the VA Clinic. B of A bank shares same complex. It is old and has extremely limited, almost rustic seating but there is a lot of nearly parking since the DMV no longer operates there. BF had a hot corned beef sandwich on rye. They also offer it on a French roll. No Kaiser rolls here, but Benjie's in Santa Ana has the same issue. Decent quality and decent serving sizes. Came with a dill pickle spear and choice of sides. BF chose macaroni salad. Macaroni salad was unusual. Distinct taste of vinegar, almost like German Potato Salad. Nice change. We also got a canned soda. Affordable at $17.77 tax included No real ambience there, but the patrons are mostly retired folks and no ambience is really needed if you just want a decent sandwich. If you want better ambience and a more extensive menu, you will likely have to travel to Santa Ana and go to Benjie's. That is a long way's away.

Perfect spot for a corned beef or pastrami sandwich! They have all the classic Jewish deli items as well. Prices are very fair compared to similar places. Ordered at the counter and the food came out pretty quickly. Seating is pretty limited and not much ambiance, but you're here for the food.

The most amazing sandwiches ever! They have so much yummy meat in them. No frills & order at the counter but quality is the key. We will be back!

    Corned Beef with Fries

Laguna Hills, Ca. Upon entering I saw that the line to order was 6 customers. I just left but soon found the other two eateries in this shopping center had much longer waits so I came back after about 15 minutes and the line had not moved at all. I decided to be patient and stood in line. Eventually the line moved at a decent pace even if on the slow side. The two gentlemen doing all the prep and waiting on customers were very fastidious and professional. I ordered corned beef on rye which came to my table hot. It was an impressive one inch thick stack of corned beef. The only downsides to this sandwich was the physical size of the rye bread which was very small so the thick stack of corned beef rapidly tapered off to a minimum. The other downside was that the corned beef was much more chewy than what I like. It was thinly sliced to try to account for this imperfection but failed. Unless you have very sharp incisors, when you bite in, a large amount of meat comes dragging out. I really don't care for that, never have, never will. I was expecting the beef to have a bit more brine to the taste as well as a bit more cooked, but it was decent and I did indeed eat it all. The rye bread, while tiny was excellent with great flavor. I think overall it is not an $18 sandwich. The fries are awesome and you get a lot of them. They use large potatoes when cutting so some of the fries are 8 inches long. Not at all greasy or oily, very nice. Upon returning on another day, the wait time was well over 30 minutes. You will have to decide if the food is worth it. Today I tried the Rueben. It was very good. The corned beef today was tender and moist. The sour kraut was excellent, tasted home made but could have been out of a jar, I don't know. The rye bread is the same tiny size as used on the corned beef Sammy, making for an expensive sandwich. The amount of meat makes up for it a bit, for lunch it is a good portion. No fries today, the "Machine" is broken. The bag of chips was ok but not a perfect substitute. The gelato bar was totally meh. Almost no flavor at all. I'm not too keen on trying a different flavor. Upon opening the wrapper I found the bar covered in freezer ice, like it had been in there for a long time. Yuck. On a third visit I found the brisket on rye to be excellent. Very good flavor and plenty of meat. I tried another gelato bar and found the variety with chocolate had good flavor and not tasteless as the dolce leche was. However, this bar also had freezer frost. On yet another visit I had the pastrami. It was a generous heap of pastrami on the same small rye. I'm getting accustomed to that now. The pastrami was just a bit too fatty for my liking but it was delicious and surprisingly tender. Today's gelato bar will be my last one, I now know they all probably have freezer burn. The texture is altered also, the bars have been thawed and refrozen. Avoid.

    Pastrami on French roll

Was craving a pastrami sandwich so I looked for a place on Yelp and saw that Kosher Bite was nearby. Ordered a pastrami sandwich on a french roll with side of French fries. Costed about $15 total. It came out not too long after ordering and it looked delicious. Was a bit disappointed with the portion size but it is what it is. However, the sandwich did not disappoint - one of the better pastrami sandwiches in the OC. Will definitely come back in the future when I'm in the area and I need to satisfy my craving for a good pastrami sandwich.

My brother and sister in law as visiting from out of state for the holidays and felt like a good Depot pastrami sandwich. After searching Yelp we came across Kosher Bite and thought we would give it a try. We ordered the pastrami on rye, the KB special and the tuna salad. The sandwiches were very good and the pastrami ?!?!? We will definitely be back for more. The potato salad and macaroni salad were good as well. I only wish they gave you a little more of the sides. The ambience is like your traditional Jewish deli. I was hoping for more pastries and desserts but today the display was fairly limited.

NOTE: This review is written by someone who spent 20 years living in Forest Hills, Queens. REVIEW: The knishes at this establishment are just as good, if not better, as those sold in NYC. The original owners, and the current owners. have maintained the Brooklyn essence in their servings.

Food is good, workers are very nice and I like the atmosphere I've come here a couple times for lunch and for work only thing I'd say they slack a little in is organization seems to be very hectic when they get busy so orders gets mixed up, it happens but this is the third time I ask for no tomatoes and I was given tomatoes, I'm also pretty sure they looked at the ticket and since it was already assembled just left it in:( I'm really sad cause I hate tomatoes and it upsets my stomach, I also wish they toasted the bread or at least I don't know if they do but overall the place is a nice spot for deli and the staff is very friendly

    Brisket on rye
    Sam C.

Not for me. I ordered a brisket sandwich on rye, and the counter guy pulled a heal of brisket out of the refrigerator and made my sandwich. It was not fresh, and dry as hell. The coleslaw and pickle were OK, but I don't think this place does the volume for enough turnover. 3 stars, ONLY because if you are looking for a kosher spot, it might be for you. I'll go to Benjie's in Tustin instead.

Kid-friendly with coloring books and available high chair.

Ordered the Gene sandwich and lox bagel. They source their lox straight from Brooklyn! This place is THE place for regulars and for those seeking a bite from New York. Service was quick and personable. A true hidden gem

Cornbeef is my favorite so far. Next visit will have to try the hotdog.

Ask the Community - Kosher Bite

    Are you kosher?

All of the foods and ingredients are kosher, but the deli does not have a mashgiach on the premises. Without one, the deli is not certified.

    Is this place certified kosher?

The deli does not have a mashgiach on site. Without one, there isn't a certificate.

Hi-I apologize for the delayed reply. This came through as an email earlier today, but it looks like the question was asked a couple days ago. We do have mushroom barley…

Do you have gluten free bread?

I'm sorry, but we don't. All of our "sandwiches" can be plated without bread or served on lettuce.

Do you bake your own bakery items or where are they from?

Hi- We bake most of our baked goods, including chalahs, knishes, black and white cookies, and strudels. Bagels are Western. Anything else not baked on premises comes from…

    Do you sell rye bread?

Definitely! Our rye breads come from Diamond Bakery in LA. We sell plain or seeded rye breads.

How much are your rainbow cookies?

The rainbow cookies are $7.99 for a 1/2 pound box.

Hi! Do you guys make sufganiyot?

Hi-We make jelly filled sufganiyot for orders for Chanukah only. We ask that all orders be placed at least 2 days before. Phone orders are welcome at 949-770-1818/

Do you have the 7 layer cake? My Jewish husband from Michigan can't find a Jewish restaurant that makes them here in Orange County.

Hi- We sell 7 layer cake. We do not make our own. It is one of the few things in our store that we bring in from Diamond bakery in LA.

I don't see cabbage rolls in the online menu for your website. Do you still make them?

Absolutely! They are typically ready by 11:00 AM daily. They are sold individually for $5.49 each.

Do you have a kosher certification or you just cook kosher style?

Every product that we sell and ingredients we cook with are kosher, but we do not have a mashgiach giving us kosher certification.

    Do you guys sell Challah?

Yes, we bake our own challah breads on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. They sell out fast, so ordering the day before is always recommended!

Okay I'll be there Sunday? I won't be here Monday going back to Mexico ...☺

We will be closed Sunday, October 1st. Typically, we are open 9-2 on Sundays, but we will be closed post Yom Kippur. Our deliveries will get back to normal this week, but I would call to make sure the Gold's has been delivered. Our phone number is…

Do u sell gold's horseradish? Can u hold a bottle till Sunday ..I'll be in Laguna Sunday ... Maryanne…

Right now, the brand we have in stock is Batampte. I can get Gold's delivered next week.

    Do you cater?

Yes,we do! We make beautiful sandwich platters or deli meat platters with cole slaw and potato salad on the side, with pickles, of course. We can also provide hot catering, as well. All orders must be picked up, as we do not deliver.…

It's just because I don't know what it means to practice financial discernment when it comes to fresh bread. And welllllll, look at who's back at Brio Brio Bakery & Cafe again...... I used to come here way more often back when I had recurring appointments in the area, but these days I rarely ever find myself in South OC. Tonight, however, I had a last minute opportunity fall into my lap when I was invited off the wait list to attend a Yelp Elite event at Onyx Golf. Naturally, I had to make an "unnecessary" bakery detour before moseying my way over to the actual main event. Listen -- you have your priorities and I have mine. We listen and we don't (critically) judge! Upon arriving to my old stomping grounds, I immediately went for my usual: the hojicha Basque cheesecake. Some things don't need to be reinvented. It's still rich and creamy as ever, and it's basically the reason I still come back to this place. Since I don't get down here as often anymore, I figured I'd live life a little more frivolously and grab some items I haven't tried before, such as their prime beef curry, kurobuta miso sausage, honey toast, and a GF brownie. My plan for a sweet treat quickly evolved into a larger commitment of carbohydrates, but honestly, I'd like to think of these items as a gift from past me to future me. Brio Brio is also running a promo right now where you get a free cookie with purchase during certain hours. I just want to be fully transparent that I don't remember what those hours are or how long the promo is running, just that it's a weekday ordeal. I know, incredibly insufferable Yelp Elite reporting on my part. You'll simply just have to go in and ask them about it or look for the signage near the register, and then purchase that item you need to qualify for the deal to begin with. Consider my review a very detailed advertisement about a potentially complimentary cookie that idk how to explain the sourcing means for. Lmao, my bad, y'all. Either way, it was refreshing to visit again after all these years. If you're stopping by Brio Brio, you really need to get the hojicha Basque cheesecake. That's singlehandedly the menu item I'll keep coming back for, even when it means I'll be suffering in rush hour traffic on the drive back home.
