When I say that the gyros and salads here are legit...They are real Deal legit. The first time that I visited I decided to go with a salad. It was huge with really fresh ingredients. I love the fact that they had the fresh large pieces of feta instead of the broken up crumbled. The gyro meat was really well seasoned as well. I saw one of my co workers with a platter and the price was close to that of a salad so I decided to get one. I literally ate on it for 3 days. There was a ton of meat and I ask for extra onions which they slice thin and season with oregano. I can eat the onions by themselves. I only got take out but the people that take my order as well as give me my order were always very nice and my order was accurate. I visited this place alot when I was in the area and I really wish I could dive into one of those platters right now. If you are in the area you definitely have to check them out! read more

I don't know how I missed a great Gyro so nearby. I've been here twice this month since I discovered this gem of a Gyro spot. Big sandwiches, plenty of fries and the right amounts of meat, onions, tomatoes and sauce. I grew up eating the best Gyro on the planet - Parthenon on State street in Madison Wisconsin- so if you've had one of those all others pale in comparison. But Kosta's is pretty good and a lot closer to home. read more

Placed a pretty big order online for our entire office at 11am for an 1145a pickup. Order was ready when we went to pick it up and everything was correct, which was incredible because there was a bunch of modifications within the order. I never realized how large this place was until I actually stepped foot inside. It's huge, the have a slot video gaming section on one side and tons of seating on the other. The gyros are great, I really liked the pita the are served on. I haven't tried any of the other menu options because, hey, I'm here for the gyros. read more

Half chicken dinner is enough for 2 meals and the Greek seasoning is so flavorful with lots of zesty lemon. Same for the Greek potatoes, yum yum. And the price is just unbeatable! Gyro sandwich and spicy curly fries are my "go-to" order. The gyro is huge and tastes great with right amount of fresh onion, tomato and sauce. I ordered online and when I arrived I was ignored then my order didn't have the fries and when I called about it I was given attitude by 2 different persons. We were traveling through the area and We were told Kosta's has good sandwiches and reasonably priced so we stopped in. Really glad we did. My husband had the Gyros it was very good, nice taziki sauce. I had the ribs They were fall off the bone and the sauce was sweet like a sweet baby ray's. This place used to be great, but they changed a staple included with most meals, their French fries. That used to be the best thing about them, awesome fries. Then they changed to "crispy fries" and it ruined the taste of their fries. They blame it on the mfg saying they no longer offer the good fries. My response is then you should changed vendors.. Ingredients make or break an establishment. Without good fries, I am now frequenting other establishments. read more

During the shelter in place, there's not much you can do other than order out. My boyfriend and I ordered through Uber eats, and while the food arrived in a very timely matter, the food was incorrect (switched with another order). Unable to reach Uber eats, I called the restaurant directly and they immediately said they would immediately correct the order and deliver it themselves. Even though they aren't a delivery service and even though they were two minutes from closing time. I think all customers need to remember that mistakes happen, but it's how staff corrects that mistake that's really important. My wife and I were looking for a good burger for take out. We came across this restaurant and decided to try it. Here is my summary in a nutshell: Food - Poor. We both ordered burgers. Hers was an undercooked frozen patty with RAW meat in the center. Very thin, and very fatty. We ended up throwing it all away. I took two bites of mine and threw it away. No taste. The only thing that was right was the condiments. Service - Waited in line for about 15 minutes as they had one cashier working and the other cleaning tables in the dining room. The wait to get the food was another 15 minutes. For 2 burgers and 1 fry it took just about 1/2 hour! Environment - The place looked clean and had lots of seats for dine in. Value - Very reasonable - and know I know why! Overall - We will definitely not be returning here. Why is it so hard in this day in age to find a decent restaurant! I would think with this economy that business owners would be doing all they can to earn your business! You would be better off going to Portillos. So disappointing! read more

I went to Kosta's Gyros tonight with a friend. I ordered the Tuscan Gyro. It was huge. I was disappointed at first because it didn't come with sauce, but then I took a bite..... and found out quickly it didn't need sauce. It was a gyro with bruschetta on top. Every bite was amazing. I live on the east side of Algonquin, so I rarely get to the far west side of Algonquin Road. I hadn't heard about Kostas until I found about about Kronos Gyros Day and signed up for a coupon for a free gyros. Lo and behold, there was a new gyros place in Algonquin! We tried to go there for the free gyros offer, but the line was out the door and the estimated wait time was almost 3 hours. We took a pass that day, but went back a few days later and were very impressed! Kostas gyros is terrific! Always perfectly browned, hot, flavorful and the portions are very generous. We have not deviated from the gyros, but have ordered sides of fried mushrooms and mozzarella sticks. The mushrooms rock! Mozzarella sticks are pretty standard. Kostas has become our "go to" place for lunch or dinner after soccer games at Sunset Park. And anytime we feel the urge for gyros. read more

Have tried a bunch of different things at Kostas. Overall pretty good food! I particularly enjoy the creamy chicken rice soup, the Greek chicken, and their burgers are also tasty. Gyros are tasty and huge! Boyfriend is a fan of the burgers, gyros and fries, not so much the chicken. Prices are reasonable. Food is generally fresh and made to order. Service tends to be prompt however expect to wait a while around dinner time. They are now open for indoor dining which is nice. They also have online ordering options and a pick up window. Really good food, for a really good price. There's plenty of simple take-out & dine-in joints on Randall Road, but you really should drive 3 minutes West on Algonquin and go to Kosta's. We love to cook so it is very very rare that we order out but Kosta's matched our home cooking. We had Gyro, Italian Beef, 2/3rd lb. double cheese burger, curly fries. We expected the burger to be huge, and it was, but the Gyro & Beef were big, delicious and better than average price. It was Sunday, at 6:15 and the place was busy with families. Went over here the other day to have a gyro...which was, uhm...large. Still, $7.69 for some freezer fries, fountain drink & a gyro...I dunno. Cost us $40+ for four of us to eat here. I guess if I wanted to save money I could have went to Tommy's right? Anyhow the decorations are nice, the place looks great. The party room...well it made me want to have a party in there. In fact someone was at the time we were there. Also a few arcade games for the kids next to the bathrooms so you can't miss them. Not bad overall...great atmosphere. The food we get here always tastes fresh and hot off the grill, unlike many other places. We went through the drive-through and the lovely lady working at the window made sure that our simple order was done right away so that we wouldn't have to wait a full 20 minutes for some tenders. read more

Food was terrible! Gyro meat was okay but sauce had no flavor, tasted like plain sour cream. Burgers and steak sandwich meat was all burnt despite asking for it medium rare. Fries were also over cooked in oil that badly needed changing. Will NOT be returning short of at gunpoint! read more

We love Kosta's! We are frequent visitors; like once a week. We have never been disappointed in any of the choices we have made. This place is far better than you would ever imagine and far better than it needs to be for the type of establishment it is. Any of their marinated chicken (whole chicken, chicken pita) is perfectly done. Salads are well prepared, which isn't easy to do, apparently, from the bad salads I get everywhere else. The gyro is a good standard gyro, they all come from the same place around Chicagoland anyway. Dogs are well prepared Chicago dogs. The chicken alone makes this place above average. I eat here all the time. It's a great, inexpensive, easy, fall back option any day of the week. read more
