If you were a fan of Oka, in Lake Worth, easily the best overall sushi Thai place in Palm Beach County, then you know that the landlord sent their rent through the roof. Oka moved next to The Library, and Kouun, with Oka's master sushi Chef Eddie, opened on Belvedere. How lucky you are West Palm Beachians! Oka always had a great sushi and Thai menu. Kouun is about ten steps up from that. Great new items on the menu, along with chef special standards that make Chef Eddie the top of the sushi artists in the county Not a raw fish fan? Hot food is equally good, with top notch Thai, Japanese and other offerings. The duck dishes, in particular are my fave. Service is gracious, as one might expect. Ambiance is clean and easy. Parking in the street is a bit tight, but so worth landing a space! Weekends get a bit slammed. Try it on a weekday, or order take away! I'm so glad that Eddie is 30 minutes closer! Oh! If you miss Sushi Jo being so close? Come check out Kouun! You'll be a regular here in no time! Elite Yelpers! Chef Brian has found you another hidden gem alert! Go! Go! Go!

Hidden gem alert in West Palm Beach! Not what you'd expect in this area...but wow. The space is small and intimate, making it perfect for a lunch date. The interior is thoughtfully set up, and we were warmly greeted as soon as we walked in. Pia, our server, was incredibly cordial and did her best to accommodate everything we wanted. The sushi? Absolutely on point--better quality than most places around, and the presentation really stood out. Highly recommend checking them out!

I just discovered this place last month. I have already tried more than half of the menu and I have not been disappointed by anything yet! Everything has been amazing, from the sushi, to the ramen, to the Thai dishes. I traveled through Southeast Asia a lot for work and have spent quite some time in Thailand and I can easily say it is some of the best Asian food in Palm Beach County. It's one of our favorite new spots and we are there several times a week. The service has also been phenomenal every time.

Pad Kapow Gai Dao (Basil Stir Fry w/an Egg Over Easy) This is the kind of place you want in your rotation -- one you'll find yourself craving on a weeknight & happy to bring guests to on the weekend. If you ever have a yearning for authentic Thai food Kouun Asian Eatery is the perfect spot. You'll feel as though you're in BKK without a doubt. I know I did, and I'm Thai.

This place is fantastic! Every dish, every piece of sushi was flawless. We started with the Catch on fire, the best! Next we had the Kao Soi, perfect! Miami heat roll, Tonkatsu ramen and Thai fried rice were great! The owners Pya and Eddie were as kind as can be. The ambiance was lovely. Be patient, they just opened and are looking for help.

We really enjoyed our family dinner at Kouun Asian Eatery today! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The Thai dishes were authentic, the sushi was delicious, and the service was friendly and attentive. It was a wonderful place to enjoy quality time with family. We'll definitely be back!

Went here randomly after driving by, I consider myself pretty picky with restaurants and have had sushi from top restaurants in Los Angeles, New York, Miami ect, and this place is bomb!!! Truly a gem and I'm so excited to have a legit sushi place finally come to west Palm. The torched salmon nigiri app was amazing, the duck basil udon was perfectly cooked and not overly sweet, the blue ocean roll was bomb and all the sushi was high quality. The Thai donuts for dessert were again, not too sweet and perfectly light and balanced. Can't wait to come back with some friends and try more Thai options as well.

Just had dinner tonight at the best sushi and thai in Palm beach county. It was our second time visiting, and have to say that every dish we tried here has been exceptional. We had the Catch on fire, the wahoo special, the oodon noodles with shrimp, the uni and then finished with the choco donuts that were perfection! Have to try the choco donuts!!!!!

This is a hidden gem! Their menu is filled with a variety of excellent options. The duck was cooked perfectly crispy and was not fatty. The dressing on the crispy duck salad was packed with flavor. The Banana Leche roll was big and fully filled. The chicken Yaki soba had the prefect amount of sauce. The service was 11/10! I recommend anyone try it out if you love good food. I'll be back for sure.

Yum city! This place is great. The staff is very friendly and personable. The interior is clean and stylish. And what I've had so far tastes amazing! The pad krapow was so delicious that I'm going to have a hard time exploring the menu next time because I'll probably want it again!! Can't wait to come back.

We were warmly greeted on entering. They were pretty busy the whole time we were there. You can tell they get a lot of "regulars". The menu is large: lots of breakfast and lunch options. With a huge blackboard on the wall with daily specials listed. Service was wonderful, also. Attentive and caring. My husband ordered the meatloaf dinner with mashed potatoes and broccoli. He got gravy on the side. I'm guessing he liked it as there was not a crumb left on his plate when done. I ordered the chicken pot pie from the daily specials board. It wasn't as expected, but quite good. The top "crust" of the "pie" (served in a long oval dish) was a few layers of filo dough. Underneath were a lot of nice chunks of white meat chicken, peas, and other veggies. All in a cream of chicken like sauce that was very good. Forgot to mention that the pot pie came with a cup of soup. There were three choices and I got the Greek lemon soup. It needed an extra squeeze of lemon and a dash of salt, but it was decent. For dessert, we wanted to try their coconut cake, but they were out. (They close at 3). We settled for sharing a slice of some warm apple pie with whipped cream on the side. The pie was good. Breakfast specials look great. And there are a lot of other lunch items I'd like to try here as well. This is a keeper.

When I checked Howley's on yelp I was surprised that there were so many negative reviews. Howley's is managed by the Sub-Culture Group, and we dine regularly at Kapow in East Boca and Dada in Delray Beach, also managed by Sub-Culture. And while this is an entirely different type of food, I still wanted to take a chance and check them out. And we did and were pleased and more than satisfied. First, the decor is truly funky. I'm not sure if everything is from the 50's when they first opened, but it sure looked like it was. The restaurant was spotless, and the toilet was as well. The AC was strong which was appreciated. Artwork on the walls was not our style but must have been from a local artist. Ceiling fixtures were similar to what my parent's had in the late 60's. Jessica was our server and she was professional and positive in her attitude. Could not have asked for anything more. Decided to order a turkey club on rye bread ($15) with fries which were included and share it. Some of the reviews addressed how large their portions were and photos confirmed it. Jessica brought out the sandwich which was split in the kitchen with an ample amount of fries on each plate. The fries were delicious. Obviously freshly made and not sitting around, they were crisp without being overcooked. The turkey was described as fresh roasted sliced turkey and it sure was. Bacon was plentiful and crispy along with fresh lettuce and tomato. Mayo served on the side as requested. The sandwich was so large that I was only able to eat a half of my half, taking the rest home for the following day. Ordered a corn muffin and chocolate chip muffin to take home and each was fresh and delicious. ($5-$6) Howley's certainly warrants a visit if you are in the area and not seeking a trendy looking place which exists all over West Palm where the food may not be as good but the vibe is what is being sold with mediocre food. There was an on-site manager who visited our table to make sure all was good. I neglected to ask her name and apologize - she was welcoming and clearly on top of her managerial duties. Would I return? Sure would. And endorse fellow helpers to check them out.
