Yesss! Finally some bubble waffle's in R.I! I went to Hong Kong this summer and loved the bubble waffle's with ice cream. I was thrilled to learn that kow kow was right here in little rhody! I've had a few different waffle cones when they are a part of food truck events. I've also visited the truck when they are set up in Prov. The ice cream flavors and waffles are very fresh. The combinations are unique. So delicious. I also tried their homemade tea over the summer and it didn't last more than 10 min! So good!!! I would buy it by the bottle. The girl working was so kind and funny - she told me about her favorite flavors and we joked around a bunch. However, it was simply not worth it for the price. The best part about it, in my opinion, was the ice cream and toppings. The mochi and condensed milk were a nice touch atop the matcha ice cream which was not overly sweet (a good thing). We've followed Kow Kow since early days on her trailer truck and boy has it never failed to amaze us and delight us every single time we go! We're so happy that there's a physical shop now that we can head to for all of our ice cream cravings. Bad ice cream. I was excited to try it because it looked cool with the waffle cone and everything but it was the worst ice cream I have ever had. The waffle had a cardboard texture and bland taste, while the ice cream had a gesso texture, no taste. The only good thing we're the fresh strawberry toppings, which are the only thing I ate, throwing out the rest. On top of that they messed up my order, made an extra ice cream and charged me for it. The team is super helpful and caring. We were across the street and my friend who has diabetes was having an emergency and really needed sugar. Poor service. I walked in here for the first time & there were three employees behind the counter. None of them made eye contact or really even greeted me. The flavors aren't listed near the ice cream, which is fine but what's not fine is I couldn't even ask a worker which flavor was what without interrupting their on going conversation. Keep in mind, I was the only customer In the shop. So, I stood their awkwardly waiting for someone to help because I had never been there before and wasn't sure how it worked. Went with my boyfriend after wanting to try this ice cream for a while. Not only are the ice creams aesthetically pleasing but they were delicious. We went on a not so busy day so the wait was about 10 minutes, which is reasonable since they make the waffle cones fresh. I'm not sure which I enjoyed more though, the cone, the ice cream, or the insanely fresh and crispy Oreos! We ordered the Oreo flavor to share and it was more than enough for the both of us, considering we had been snacking prior. My daughter had the birthday cake but it was really just a plain waffle with a few sprinkles thrown in, again dry and not very tasty. Customer service was subpar unfortunately, my fiancé and I had a bad experience here. We walked our dogs (about a 20-25 minute walk) and arrived at 8:33pm. We were told that the line is cut off at 8:30pm and We wouldn't be able to order. Everything online says 9pm as do the signs on the door. tried to explain to the employee how far we walked the dogs but she was unwilling to budge on it. I love kow kow. But I drove half an hour after working a full day to get kow kow for me and my two kids. We were so excited, and planned to arrive 20 minutes before it closed. Love the combination Strawberry Shortcake crumble with their ice cream to just add this new layer of texture that made the bubble waffle even better. Got to the truck around 8:19pm on Waterman Street, to wait in line for a good 10 minutes behind 5 people who had already received their orders and weren't making it possible to place an order. Suddenly started down pouring for only 5 minutes as soon as i was able to finally make my way to the counter and be able to place my order, for them to rudely turn me away at that point instead of telling me from the beginning.
