Newly opened food truck residing on Waterman St in Providence (locations vary) Be sure to follow them on Instagram/Twitter to find out where they'll be! @kowkowfood They offer bubble waffle cones and ice cream with a variety of toppings. We got the Milk + Matcha which was a warm bubble waffle cone, with Matcha ice cream, topped with strawberries, mochi, and a condensed milk drizzle! Absolutely amazing! The bubble waffle had a warm crispiness to it and once you bite into it, there's a nice fluffiness to it as well. The ice cream was so good! It was just right in my opinion, not too sweet. You can also swap out certain toppings if you prefer or keep it the way its described. The bubble waffles are made to order, so be patient! It's worth it in the end! Please also remember that they are a new business so cut them some slack! The staff here are super nice and will answer any questions you may have about the menu. Definitely plan to get my hands on the Oreo Factory next time I stop by! read more

Wow - went here for the first time during the heat wave. Really fun ice cream! One is big enough to share or to treat yourself! I was a little overwhelmed as a first timer so went with the standard Oreo mixture but immediately after was already brainstorming different possible toppings combos! Will be back!! read more

Mmm. I had been dreaming about coming here for awhile after seeing people walk out with gorgeous bubble cones overflowing with ice cream and great toppings. My brother's visit provided the excuse I was looking for. We went after a day of kayaking on the Providence River and felt we deserved a treat. Boy, we got one. I had the Milk and Matcha -- mine was a matcha bubble cone (but you can choose your cone) with matcha ice cream, strawberries, mochi, and sweetened condensed milk drizzled on top. It looked like a beautiful flower and was so delish! The only problem was eating it before it melted and keeping the mochi from falling off. My brother's Graham Canyon looked good too and he gave it big thumbs up as he gobbled it up. A definite experience -- so fun, beautiful, and yummy! read more

I've been to KowKow several times, both when they were still operating through food truck and at the brick and mortar. There are plenty of special options to choose from, where they can also accommodate dairy-free options and allergens. You definitely have to eat quickly or it'll get messy. I think it's pretty filling and shareable for the amount you receive. The shop itself is cute and aesthetic, and the staff is really friendly. Lastly, the egg waffle itself pairs well with the ice cream and other ingredients. Would like to try other flavors. read more

I absolutely love this place. My favorite is the "Usual" with the chocolate chip waffle cone. Such a great combination of flavors and textures. The staff great and everything comes out quickly. Love the outdoor seating area and easy street parking. I bring anyone I can here. read more

Truly an amazing and creative establishment. Not your typical ice cream parlor. Find them on social media for pictures, live updates, and more. For anyone with a sweet tooth, this place is a must. ATMOSPHERE: What started from a food truck to now a storefront even during a pandemic. Limited people inside, cleans outdoor tables often, and follows safety protocols. Outdoor tables are available but limited. FOOD: The variety that is available all looks amazing but I cannot venture away from my favorite milk & matcha. They allow you to customize as you please and reasonably priced. SERVICE: The staff and owner is super friendly which makes it even better. Please be aware storefront just opened so don't be surprise if you see a line out the door. It's worth the wait. Will be returning for sure. Wishing Kow Kow the best. read more

We had been wanting to try these for a couple of weeks, and I was happy to catch them during a food truck event near my house. The waffles are made to order, so there will be a few minute wait, but not long. The smell was divine while we were waiting! They had the perfect crispiness on the outside, and soft and delicious on the inside. I got the Milk and Matcha which was the perfect sweetness and didn't have an overpowering Matcha taste. I went back with friends for the opening of their brick-and-mortar establishment. WORTH IT. I had a Laotian New Year special with pandan ice cream made by the one-and-only Big Feeling, a lotus cookie, and condensed milk drizzle. It was just perfect. My previous feedback about the waffle is now retracted. The egginess had been downplayed tremendously and all one enjoyed was a waffle of rich but ethereal texture. Be prepared for long waits right now but I anticipate that the wait time will normalize after the newness wears off and they settle into a groove. Do visit-this place is awesome! read more

Love a fun ice cream experience!! Ice cream, waffle, and plenty of toppings are included. However, the ice cream is nothing special and the original waffle is pretty flavorless as well, so it's mostly the novelty that makes the experience. I got cocoa crazy (with a half vanilla scoop) and my brother got Oreo (and he loved it!!). It was pretty expensive- 8.50 per cone- and their flavor selection was very limited, so I probably won't be back when there's much better ice cream in the area. read more

So I am perplexed by these new places with their $8.50 ice cream concoctions. Don't get me wrong, this is a five-star experience. The ice cream is very good and each creations is an actual works of art. The one drawback is that this is larger and more ice cream than any one person should eat in any one sitting. I know it's large to warrant the $8.50 price tag, but I would prefer half the size and half the cost. I feel bad deducting a star. It's 5 stars! So I'm giving it back, but still wish a smaller size was available. read more

Picture this: it's a bright, breezy day in a small, bustling city. You see a line of socially distanced, well-masked people of all shapes and sizes lined up literally around the block, a little ways down from your favorite taco place. You can smell the new England sea air and you think, "I wonder what this is about?" You walk a little closer and smell... fresh-baked waffles? And sweet cream and fruit and maybe just a hint of something spicy and it's just too perfect a mystery to pass up. You spend the next half hour chatting idly with a friend while you both wonder which ice cream you'll choose. Your friend is feeling something fruity, but you have a VERY hard time making decisions and this one is too tough to leave to an ill-informed flip of the coin. Still, you don't know what's going to happen until you step up to smiling, harried and hair-mussed woman behind the register. The words come tumbling out of your mouth. You say: "One s'mores, please. And I'd like the toasted marshmallow and chocolate sauce and graham cracker crumbles and everything, but could you also do a half-marshmallow-half-strawberry scoop? And, um... could you add strawberries on top, too?" And she will do that, because for the next minute and a half all is right in the world. Nothing can hurt you or anyone you love. The woman will bake you a perfect bubble waffle topped with exactly the right amount of ice cream and fruit and a toasty little marshmallow on top and your day will be glorious. The next morning, you will remember that you didn't finish that bubble waffle, and you will have a pillowy bowl of baked waffle and strawberry cream topped with blackberries with your coffee. The world has never been so safe, so welcoming, so right. read more

My first puffle (bubble) cone was at The Cauldron in Garden Grove, Ca back in 2015. The ice cream were made out of liquid nitrogen & I have never had anything liked it since. Until I heard about this place. I went on their grand opening and i went back again recently. The bubbly waffle cone was so fluffy and ice cream went so well with the toppings. It's literally a party in your mouth and honestly, it's great to have on a chilly day cause the waffle is warm and fluffy. Highly recommend! read more

We got the matcha and milk but was able to get Half matcha/Half Strawberry for the ice cream. We also changed the bubble waffle from original to matcha. The waffle was freshly made, warm and soft on the inside and slightly crispy on the outside. The combination of the ice cream, toppings, and waffle complimented each other well. It was a yummy dessert! Perfect size to share between 2 people. Was a bit messy because the moment we got it, our toppings already started falling apart. I've been following kow kow on social media for awhile now, and finally made it to them tonight. It was their last night for the Birthday cake special, and I had to try it before it was gone. One of the best thing I've ever tried. The bubble waffles are so good and everything is made to order so I don't mind the wait because it is worth it. I had the milk and matcha flavor and I was not expecting the size because oh man, it was filling. The whole combination just made sense. There is also different flavors so I'm excited to try out all of them! Honestly it doesn't hurt to try something different especially for the food truck industry. You will not regret. The presentation alone is reason to go! The ice cream was delicious and the toppings are perfect! Due to COVID they provide outdoor seating so you can't stay inside. My only push for them would be to frequently wipe down the tables because all of them were super sticky both times I went. read more

kow Kow has some really beautiful instagramable ice cream that wows the 5 year olds sensation. They offer contactless pick up and because the east side has little traffic at this point pretty accessible. The waffles are home made and the cones assembled right in front of you therefore add to longer wait times. My son loved his unicorn ice cream and in times where things are not what they were he really enjoyed the magnificent treat. I only gave 4 stars because for me personally the taste and execution (reallyyyy long wait times) wasn't quite there but totally willing to give another try and I totally suggest this as a fun treat if you have a kid. Brown is pretty empty so good walking while social distancing. read more

This place is a gem in Providence. The ice cream is quite decent, but paired with Hong Kong egg waffle along with various toppings, it becomes a delightful experience. I've tried most of the options and My personal favorites has been the cheesecake flavor and cookies and cream flavor. The cheesecake one had me wow'd. Would definitely recommend, but bring a friend because the portion is definitely too much for just one - unless you are a beast or an extremely sweet person. read more

You definitely get more cake than the coffee, but it worked in its favor and tasted much better than the crème brûlée drink. It was nice to try, especially since everything looks so aesthetically pleasing, but it feels more like a place you visit for the vibe rather than a go to coffee run.

Bubble wafers for the win! Yay! I'm over the moon so happy that we finally have a spot that serves bubble wafers. These are all over Instagram so I couldn't wait to get my hands on and try it out for myself. The crispiness couples with the creamy ice cream is just a match made in heaven. It is located next to a school so traffic can be heavy depending on the time of day. I went around 5 pm and the weather wasn't great so not as much traffic and parking right in front. It is metered parking which is a downside but I believe there are side streets without the fee. I loved a lot of the details when I walked in such as the ice cream cone chairs along the wall, the art on the wall, the citrus colors all around, and a water station. The menu isn't very extensive, but | actually love this about them. Each flavor is very unique and when every flavor sounds and tastes good, a dozen options is perfectly fine. They also have it broken up into regular hard ice cream, dairy free ice cream, and sorbet. I couldn't decide on what I wanted but I was allowed to sample different ones before committing to one. They offer 4 different sizes: mini (golf ball scoop) - $4, scoop (baseball) -$6, half/half - $7, and double -$8. During my sampling session, I tried the horchata, thai tea, and dulce de leche. I ultimately opted for the dulce de leche because of its sweet, creamy, and intense caramel-like flavor. It almost tasted like a cold Werther's caramel melting in my mouth, so I needed more of it. However, I loved that the horchata had a strong cinnamon and vanilla presence with a hint of coconut since I do think the non-diary flavors are coconut milk based. The thai tea literally tasted like a frozen thai tea as it was milky but also the black tea undertone was there. I did not get to taste the london fog but I also heard it was a black tea flavor. Just based on internet pictures, it looks like the menu is constantly changing (some staple flavors don't seem to leave) and there are seasonal flavors. This motivates me to come back more often to see what treasures I come across. They had a few tables inside to enjoy your ice cream there. There were two people working so I did not wait much for my turn. They also do offer pints to go, but from what I could see only two flavors: cookies and cream and mango sticky rice.

But poor service is something I don't overlook. I won't be returning to this place. In my opinion, 3 Sisters and Sacred Cow offer a much better overall experience.
