After 30 minutes of long time of wait a bowl of soup show up.im confused because everyone else food their food came from fro t were the chef cook ànd prepared foods But our food came from the back ,I watch the server whole time. Our foods arrive very cold and we can tell the food is prepare long time ago because the leaves are cooks in the morning. And guess what it's very da.n cold! ! It's not my first time I eat to this place 5x in 1 m.onth .I know for fact the foods was freshly cook and served hot. But our food is like as cold as cat nose.. He pretend that our foods been preparing by chef by letting as wait 30 minutes sitting . The male attendant says they don t accept the coupon 2 months old. But igot the coupon only a day as a receipt from food4less. He assumed that it's old without checking it. Unprofessional attendant. My friend told .e he open to me he will no longer come to this place and complain about his cold coup! Ordered lunch off of Doordash from here. I asked for utensils but they weren't included in our order. So we had to eat our sushi with our hands and sip our misos from the cup :( Their miso soups were good and they give you a big portion. I no ordered the lunch special that has the spicy tuna roll and the golden tiger. The rice was very sticky and starchy, and the roll itself was almost too big to fit in my mouth. Maybe big portions are part of their selling points? Wasn't the worst sushi I've ever had, but probably won't order again for lunch. read more

I started coming here in 2023 and this place and the service was amazing. As time went on and even into this year 2024. The staff are not as helpful or friendly. I grew up in the area and would always come to this spot since I was 16 Years old, but due to a previous issue with them, I hadn't returned in 2-3years and finally decided to give them another try. I told my friends about Koya Sushi because I figured, it's been awhile, maybe they're better now and I remember their prices being pretty affordable! A few of us wanted the AYCE sushi so the server told us about this deal where we could split the sushi. 1 full price order, and we could share it with a friend and all they'd have to pay was 15 dollars or so. We said yes, we'd like to do that, it sounded like an amazing deal! She went to get an approval from her boss and came back saying that they don't do that deal anymore after she just told me that they did. -I thought this was strange!- (this adds to context for later) We are almost done with our second round of sushi and my friend bites down on something really hard, all of us at the table hear it, turn, and ask if she's okay, and that she should spit whatever it was out. Turns out, it's a piece of glass that was in her sushi! We bring it up to the staff there at the time and all they have to say is"we don't know what that is", and they wanted to take it away, but before they did something told me to take a video. Always Get Proof! After the rest of us finish our meal, we begin asking for a refund for the friend who had glass in her sushi. One person said that the boss isn't here, then she says I don't have his number, and that she doesn't know the next time he'd be back. Huh? So we asked another Cashier person if she had the number and she called him and told him that it was a hard piece in there and all he wanted to discount us was 7$ from the meal. By this time, we are all very mad. We aren't the type to cause issues where none need to be, but A few of us had worked in restaurants before and would never treat our customers like that. WE GOT HIS NUMBER AND CALLED HIM, he immediately hung up on my friend and ran to the door to meet us from the back(I thought he wasn't there) p.s. we had seen him serving tables just before the incident. He asked us to show him the piece of glass, but his servers took it(our mistake for not taking it, but at least I had my video) He kept saying over and over that it was a piece of rice in the video, but there was a part that showed the translucency of the glass and we showed him that, then he said It's fish bone, then he said it was a piece of chopstick that broke off. IT WAS NEITHER! My friend saved the sushi that she had to spit up and was checking to see if there were any more little pieces of glass. He then asked her if he could dig through her spit up food(bare handed) to double check. After this, he made us dig through other people's dirty plates claiming that the dishes hadn't been washed yet and so our plates would be in there. We checked and none of the plates were ours(so we dug through dirty plates for no reason at all) it was humiliating because he had us do this in front of all the other customers that were in there and everyone kept staring at us! He then began to gaslight us when we couldn't find anything that there actually was none and that we just wanted to get free food, because we asked to split the sushi(his server brought it up, we had no knowledge that places did that) , he told us that we are just trying to get free food and assured him that it's not about that at all. I even told him, I have a debit card that I am using to pay for everyone's food, I am not broke, but it's just ridiculous to have to pay for food that had hazardous material in it and go through hell and back to prove it, evidence or not. read more

Tonight , KOYA Sushi rates above and beyond customer care. We ordered orange chicken bento box, tuna Love roll, KOYA roll, crunch roll to go. We started to eat and no condiments or utensils. We called and we were able to head back they more than made up for the mistake. It's just a bummer when you don't have your wasabi, soy and ginger or chop sticks. They loaded us up and gave us an amazing boba milk tea to try put smile on our faces. Tuna was fresh my husband loves the orange chicken. Came in for lunch on a Sunday. It was moderately packed and it took the waiter a few minutes to get me to a table since he was running around filling phone orders. I ended up doing the AYCE sushi and it was at the time of this review $36. Kind of high but given prices are going up everywhere and Koya has good rolls I'll pay it. Also they were doing a $1 all you can drink soda special so that was nice. Rolls came fresh and tasty and only took around 10-15 minutes. I'd recommend the dragon roll and any of the "lobster" rolls. The udon is always a treat here as well. Only knocks I can give Koya is that service can be lacking at times since they're so busy and they forget some of the items on your AYCE orders. Which isn't the worst thing since you have 3 rounds to order and you get full anyway. Overall, Koya is still my favorite and go to sushi place. read more

For a one-stop shop I think this is worth the price. It was !22.95 per person. The reason I rated two stars because I like that there was no line. I like how they served oyster on the menu for ayce. Besides that, I subtracted the three stars with following reason: This is a fake "Japanese" sushi restaurant in my opinion. All the servers there are speaking in mandarin. Their service attitude make me feels like I am entering a Chinese restaurant rather than a Japanese restaurant. For example: my husband and I barely sat down and received our menu, without giving us a moment to ourselves and review the menu, the waitress already said, "what drinks do you want?"; even the flash can't decide that fast! The food quality is below average. The sushi rice.... was used by typical big grain rice which makes it fell apart easily. We couldn't taste the vinegar when we ate the rice so I don't think they used it in the right amount either. My favorite rice are the short rice that used by Japanese and Korean locals, therefore, I can recognize my rice when I eat it. When you do decide to try out, I do recommend their eel sushi under special roll, and the two pieces sushi section, especially the oysters shot. read more

Soooo the food is okay but the service was terrible. Table for 2, there is about 5 mattresses & none of them really checked on our table to see if we ordered or anything. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I'm a picky eater / person & I was so full just waiting for our food. No air conditioning, 107 degrees out & coming inside felt the same. There were people fanning themselves with the menu & so were we. Oh also, we had AYCE & 1st round was quick but 2nd one they put in the wrong order, 3rd slow. (2nd & 3rd order was slow). SUSHI HAD GLASS!! I went there yesterday with three friends of mine. Into my last bite of the Salmon Love Roll (raw fish), I bit into a chunk of an impenetrable piece of glass. I dug it out of my mouth and tried to break it by pressing down on it with a chopstick, it made a cracking sound but didn't break. I brought it to the staffs attention who didn't know what it was but agreed it wasn't a part of the sushi roll. We waited to get the manager and were constantly told he wasn't there and that no one in the restaurant had their bosses number to contact him myself. Finally one waiter gave me his number and when he answered me he hung up and appeared at the door of the restaurant where I was waiting for him. He then proceeded to ask me for proof of the piece of glass to which we told him his staff took, and should in their possession. I showed him my spit out sushi and he wanted to go through it himself but I refused and began to go through myself. He then asked to go through it once again and I gave it to him. He dug through it bare handed and did not find anything either. He then brought out the dishes from the kitchen and had me look through them without gloves. My plate was not in the bin of dishes so without proof he began to insinuate we were looking to get a free meal or money and the the best he could do was $7 off the $36. Completely offended we showed him the video to disprove his suggestion that it could've been a fish bone or a bite of chopstick. He also suggested I pay my meal then go to my dentist to have him check for a sign of injury and if so to then come back for a refund and for his insurance to cover my medical costs. Finally when we made it clear that we were not looking for free food or money and just wanted a compensation for my meal exclusively he agreed to compensate me exclusively. After digging through the sushi he did not in fact wash his hands and proceeded to touch the screen at the cashier. With all the health code violations I'm going to report this to the Health Department and if my dentist does find injury to my gum, cheek, or tooth I will be perusing legal action for the lack of professionalism, physical damage, deceptive attempts to gaslight and accuse me of malice. read more

So i love eating AYCE sushi because i usually eat my way through $22.95 worth of rolls (dinner). They have really fresh sushi and a great variety of rolls!! Some restaurants try to give you a small menu for AYCE but this one is definitely a full menu. My favorite was the albacore roll! I love shrimp tempura inside. And they give you a big portion of teriyaki chicken if you order it off the AYCE. I cant wait to come back!! HOWEVER...minus 1 star for not having green tea ice cream. It's on their menu (photo to come) with a $3 price. Beneath it is mochi, which i despise. We asked for green tea ice cream NOT mochi, and they tried to give us mochi. They didnt say they were out of ice cream at all; it was like they didnt even carry it even though it's on their menu! That was really annoying :/ Also the check took way too long to come to the table, we had to flag em down for it. The service was really good aside from that! So another day after that happened I got an order to pick up here to deliver. And not only is it hot and takes forever here to get my order for delivery, but I seen the sushi maker sniff the sushi he just made and went ahead and sent it out to the server, I'm sure he was smelling it to see if it smelled old being that I literally got food poisoning here from their sushi roll. I love AYCE sushi places. This place is probably the cheapest one I've came across. When I walked in with my friends on a Friday night, I was surprised to see how empty it was. All my friends and I got the AYCE option. Two of my friends didn't like raw fish as much, so we they ordered more of the rolls and fried foods. For the fried foods, they did a fantastic job. Some of our favorites were the gyoza, chicken katsu, and calamari. We were all amazed of the gyoza and how great the sauce tasted. For the nigiri, I was disappointed. The fish did not seem fresh. Almost like it was just thawed from the freezer. The salmon and seared salmon nigiri were acceptable but everything else was just poor quality. Now it could be because I'm used to the fish quality in Hawaii. The rolls, however, were amazing! There were so many creative rolls and they all tasted amazing! Be careful though.
