Krak has a wide menu and some interesting concoctions so if that's your thing you'll enjoy this place. Personally, I like to keep it simple with just a peach black tea. While my tea was good it was not above average. What stole the show here were the mochi donuts, they were so fresh, had the perfect amount of sweet, and were soft and fluffy. My mouth is watering just thinking about them! Service was quick and helpful. The cashier even let us try their Crystal boba. Personal I did not care for the texture but my boyfriend loved it. This place has modern decor and is spacious for the most part but near the register can get a bit crowded. Krak might not be on crack, but it might not be the best place to get your boba or maybe even mochi donut fix. I had an appointment in the area one afternoon, and Krak Boba was nearby. I was getting kind of thirsty after walking around nearby Stonewood Center, and instead of hopping on the 605 to go back home, I went past the 605 and stopped on the northeast corner of Studebaker and Firestone to try their boba! Their window by the front door has a nice poster of mochi donuts underneath a neon sign that says ooopen! Yes, they really did spell open with three o's. No, I don't know why they did that lol. When I got in, there were a handful of customers inside waiting to order and waiting for their orders. There are a couple of posters on the right wall, but you have to walk further inside in order to see the menu on the TV monitors. Those TV monitors might be hard on the eyes because of the bright colors used, so you may have a difficult time reading the menu. The menu is also a little small and hard to read, and in this case, one trick I can recommend is to take a photo of the menu and zoom in. Or you can look at my photos instead lol :). Anyways, I was kind of torn between a milk tea and a specialty, the latter of which is $1.10 more than the former. As I was looking through the menu options, there was one that caught my eye: King Brulee. In my opinion, creme brulee is a must have for boba, and that's what I went with. I also considered the Krak Signature Milk Tea, Brown Sugar Milk Tea, and the Caramel Milk Tea, but I felt the King Brulee would have tasted like all three of them combined. Maybe not necessarily combined, but I was expecting a flavor explosion similar to what I had at Brown Cup Boba in Bellflower the month prior. As I was standing behind the customer who was placing her order, I looked at the display case of mochi donuts. You can get a half dozen for $16.50 or a dozen (*not* the Bakers dozen, ironically) for $30. I believe the minimum number of donuts you can order is 3, and that would run you about $9. On my visit, I only recall seeing three flavors. One had Fruity Pebbles on top, one looked to be strawberry-flavored, and one was either peanut butter, chocolate, or something of the like. They might have had more earlier in the day, but since I wasn't planning on getting mochi donuts, I can't really comment further about them. The menu has some orange-colored symbols next to certain drinks, and that represents a drink that can be made with dairy alternatives. The dairy alternatives are almond, oat, and soy. If you choose one of these three, it would be an additional 95 cents. Like I said, I ordered the King Brulee drink, which already comes with boba, so I didn't need to pay the additional 75 cents for that topping. If I had gotten a milk tea instead, I think I would have had to pay the additional three quarters if I wanted boba. There are five other toppings that cost the same amount: aloe vera, coffee jelly, pudding, rainbow jelly, and lychee coconut jelly. If you want one of creme brulee, sea cream, rainbow popping boba, sweet cream, pink crystal boba, or crystal boba, you'd need three quarters, a nickel, and a dime. I waited about 5 minutes for my drink, which was a little longer than expected because they had a couple of other orders to prepare before mine. When the cashier handed me my drink, I asked if I should shake it first. He said it really came down to personal preference, but after hearing his opinion on when to shake it, I did shake it, even before I took a photo. Oops? lol I was really looking forward to the drink, but it was kind of a letdown for me. The brown sugar flavor just wasn't quite there, and the ingredients used didn't seem to marry together as well as the other boba drinks I've had this year, including a couple in the Pacific Northwest. I was expecting the drink to be fit for a king, but if you ask me, it was more fit for a prince. Maybe even one ranking less. The boba was also overcooked as it was a bit soft for me to call QQ. I tasted some soft bits, which I couldn't tell if they were actually separate ingredients for the King Brulee or if they were pieces of the boba that floated off from the tapioca balls after every sip I took. There is a parking spot right in front of the front door, and that spot is designated for curbside pickup. You can order online or through their app, and there is also a rewards program that you can learn about if you visit their website. Since the drink I got didn't 5 or even 4-star wow me, I don't plan on joining this rewards program anytime in the near future. I really wanted to give 4 stars for this boba shop, but I'm going to have to keep it at 3 stars instead since the drink didn't taste as good as I expected, and service, while not unfriendly, wasn't friendly enough for me to want to return for another drink. One of the worst milk teas I've ever had ugh. I got seaside thai green tea bc it looked good from the other reviews, but it ended up being so gross. It tastes fine at first but then quickly hits you with such a tannic and overly floral aftertaste. I somehow finished half the cup and felt nauseous afterwards. I thought at first maybe it's bc I got less sugar? But I got 75%, which shouldn't be too big of a difference. I tried adding more syrup at home. Didn't help. I added a tiny bit of salt in case that would help balance it out. Also didn't help. I have to conclude that it was just extremely over-brewed. I've had milk teas where the tea is over-brewed before but they've never been as unpleasant as this one. Idk what went wrong, maybe this was an anomaly and usually this drink is great, but I don't think I'll be giving them another chance when there's much better tea places around. Service was friendly and ambiance was nice, I saw some people studying inside. They also sell mochi donuts but the flavors are basic and they don't make them fresh so I didn't feel inclined to try. The ONLY location that has mochi donuts!!!! This is so cool! What an unexpected surprise! Even their sign at front of store said KRAK boba and Donuts. Unfortunately I couldn't get what I usually ordered because this was a last minute stop because my friends wanted to come. I usually get my favorite Guerrilla Thai but I just had Thai tea right before I came so I ended up trying their Lychee tea without the lychee bits and adjusted my sweetness level. The employee was super nice since my friend had never been there so she had quite a few questions to ask and he was super nice about it. They had a good selection of mochi donuts, probably about 6-8 different flavors. The Taro Crush enticed me because they use fresh taro but I think it's a mix because the strong fake taro flavor is there with the texture of real taro. We substituted almond milk for 65 cents extra. They have soy, almond, and oat for an extra charge. I liked the drink but I felt like the ratio of milk to taro was too big. I sometimes felt like I was drinking only the milk portion and needed to scrape the sides of my cup for the taro. The Tropical Paradise was refreshing due to the ginger ale. Tried their Taro Milk tea Boba version: you can adjust the ice level (I always get light ice) and sweetness level (I go for 100% because I like it sweet!). This place did a great job! When I took my first sip, I thought it wasn't sweet enough, but as I continued to sip, I realized it was just right. I'm not sure why that is...I think I just want it to be sweet and have many experiences where it isn't so I'm expecting to not be satisfied. Was happy to finally see a boba cafe in Norwalk! ( although disappointed that ShaveIt was no longer there). However... we were warmly greeted and the girl was nice to answer all my questions about their bobas. It did take a while to get my boba but it seemed like only the "who seemed like the owner" was making the drinks. I ordered their jasmine green tea milk tea and the Seaside Green Thai tea with light ice and 50% sweetness The Jasmine green tea was delicious: the jasmine taste was not too overpowering and it had a balanced sweetness. My husband got the king brulee with oat milk. He liked his drink as well. I know they're doing a soft opening, so I did not mind the wait. However, I hope that the wait time decreases in the future. Drinks are fairly priced at market value and the decor is nice and service was good. I'm glad to see all different types of people trying out the boba drinks instead of just running to Starbucks and Jamba Juice (no offense intended). I think they have free WiFi but if you're planning on studying here it's not the place. It's loud and noise echoes and bounces off the walls. Came for the grand opening and loved it! The team was super friendly and had a great grand opening event to celebrate their boba shop. They were very fast and efficient with taking your order and making the drinks, so even though is was very busy we didn't have to wait that long at all! I ordered the Taro Twist with boba, and my bf ordered the Moon Princess with regular boba instead of crystal boba. The Taro Twist was very yummy! I loved the subtle taro flavor as well as the real taro that's mixed throughout the drink. I got to speak with the owner and he mentioned that the taro recipe was passed down to him as a family recipe. Such a sweet homage! I ordered it at half sweetness, but I could probably go down to about quarter to make it just right for me, but 50% is still very good! The Moon Princess was very refreshing! I loved the color of the drink in terms of aesthetic but the flavor was also really yummy with a fragrant peach flavor. Even though my bf asked for no crystal boba, there was still some in there in addition to the regular boba, but we actually didn't mind it because it was actually pretty good! I was a usual before the establishment underwent new management. However, service and quality has gone down. I went in and witnessed what I could only assume is the manger talking down to her employees. She not only did not help the struggling employee but also did not take my order. I was not greeted by her at all. The employee was kind and welcoming as they usually are but this new manager is going to run the business to the ground. I ordered the Brown Sugar Milk Tea and it was good. My husband ordered the taro storm and to be honest wasn't his favorite at all. It had the sweet potato taste to it.
