It's dark and cozy and so historic. We were seated in the best little nook on the lower level, just off the bar. We could hear the live music trickle in as we enjoyed dinner. The food was amazing, from start to finish. The drinks were some of the best we've ever had. We had the best service from the bartender at the bar while we waited for our table to be ready to our server - who was full of recommendations and suggestions. We had a little bit of everything, sharing the crab cakes, mac and cheese poppers, she crab soup, spring rolls. For our main course, we had the salmon and the pork tenderloin. Everything was full of flavor and perfectly seasoned. We wish we would have had room for dessert, but our dinner was too filling. This is the perfect place and we will be back!

Even with our reservations at 9pm at night the place was still busy with people coming and going. The food we ordered was delicious and came out in a timely manner. The only complaint we had was that where we were sat had very little lighting so it was hard to read the menus but otherwise the place was so fun and the energy was high!

Their menu is very eccelectic, lots of game (elk, bison, python etc).We decided to be brave and take a chance. Good thing we did! Service was impeccable tables were far enough away from each other so it was easy to have a normal conversation. We ordered gator bites; fried, they were ok. Wouldn't order them again. Python/hate sausage: just tasted it. Not my favorite but it's a personal preference. Vegetarian jambalaya: absolutely amazing! Lots of fresher veggies stews together with so much flavor! I would definitely go back for this. My husband and daughter had the bison short ribs which they loved. Drinks- creative and very good.

Once you were done with your meal you are right by the river so you are able to enjoy an evening stroll without having to walk too far. They also have a coffee shop in the basement that you are able to use your receipt from lunch or dinner to get a certain percentage off your order - however I don't recall the amount.

I also had my dog with me and couldn't stay inside at the bar until dinner time. I ended up getting some waters to go for my pup and I and walked around the city some more until 5p. We went back to Vic's and thankfully got a seat out on their small patio area where they are pet friendly. It filled up fast, and glad we were able to get seated. It is first come first serve outside, but needed reservations for indoor dining. The only bad part, was it smelled like weed out on the patio. The service was friendly and fast. The main reason I specifically went to Vic's was for the She Crab Soup I was told I had to try. I ordered that and a salad. It was hot and hot soup didn't sound the best but it was delicous, just as it was promised to be. The salad was light and helped cool down the heat of the day. I also ordered a cucumber mocktail that was also light and refreshing. I didn't linger long as I was tired. Overall the service was good, the food was tasty for the light fare that I ordered. I was just disappointed in the open but not serving dinner until five.

Every time I'm anywhere close, I make it a point to stop, and this trip was no different. I was driving back home to North Carolina and had to make one last stop because it's just that good. The food is always fresh, hot, and packed with flavor. The sandwich was perfectly toasted with fresh ingredients, plenty of parmesan, and an amazing sauce, and the fries were cooked perfectly. Everything tasted just as good as I remembered. Service was a 10/10 and wonderful seating options MUST GO!!!

Even after the 2021 rebrand, it still held on for a while, but something in the last 5 years at the main office has completely lost touch. They expanded to three locations: ; downtown, Tybee, and Hilton Head, and in the process the whole identity fell apart. The menu has been gutted of its originality. The "OG" items are now overpriced, portion sizes have been cut in half, and the original sides that made it special are gone. What used to be a simple, order-and-sit-down experience is now chaotic. You're herded in by an overstaffed but somehow still disorganized team of high-turnover employees with zero consistency and very little emotional intelligence. There are always way too many staff for the number of customers, yet service somehow keeps getting worse. Last night was the final straw. We tried the Tybee location first, waited 30 minutes just to be seated, only to be told they were basically out of everything and could only do drinks. So we drove to downtown. Same exact thing. Out of sausage. When we asked if we could just remove it or substitute it, we didn't get a simple no, we got an "absolutely not," because apparently everything is pre-mixed and nothing can be adjusted. Even worse once we sat down. It took 15 minutes just to be asked for drink orders. A different server came over, introduced himself like we were starting fresh, and then got visibly annoyed when we said we'd already ordered water and a soda. From there it just kept getting more awkward. At one point he bumped my cup while I was literally lifting it to my lips and told me to "watch out" while he was placing food down. He took forever to check us out and finally bring our soda to go, and ended the night by saying, "just so you know I'm faster than the other girl," like we were in the middle of some weird staff competition we didn't sign up for. On the outside it still looks like a fun Savannah staple. But once you sit down, you realize you're no longer a local guest, you're trapped in an overhyped tourist operation that's completely lost what made it good in the first place.

The restaurant was absolutely packed, and it was clear when I ordered the Oysters Rockefeller and asked if the jalapeños could be left off (their version has bacon, cheese, shrimp, kale and jalapeños) it was a "premix". Makes sense for efficiency, but anyone with a dietary or allergy restriction wouldn't have that option. Presentation also had a lack of personal touch. A friend and I each ordered a half dozen oysters, and instead of serving them separately, both orders arrived together on one large platter, but he was seated several people down the table, so we ended up placing the tray in the middle and reaching across. When I asked for another plate to separate them, there seemed to be some confusion and I was simply given an extra small plate instead. Everything was just "okay". One friend ordered the shrimp and grits and really enjoyed it, and the drinks arrived quickly and service was fast in general. Unfortunately, the low point was a friend ordered a half dozen raw oysters, but they didn't arrive until the rest of us had completely finished our meals and were asking for the check. Thankfully he had also ordered a po' boy sandwich, because otherwise he would have been sitting there hungry. To make matters worse, the oysters that finally arrived didn't taste especially fresh, and at $22 for a half dozen, they were hard to justify. Our server was friendly, but throughout the meal she had to be reminded of several items we'd ordered, almost as if we were placing the order a second time. On a positive note, the rooftop bar upstairs was a nice surprise and probably ended up being my favorite part of the visit. Overall, it felt like a restaurant designed for volume and convenience in a tourist-heavy area. Plenty of people seem to enjoy it, and I can see why it's popular. Our experience didn't live up to the hype. If I'm looking for seafood in Savannah, I'll probably explore other options next time. Glad they have covers for the patio when it rains.
