This is the worst run business I've ever seen. Even though there are registers at the counter the only register in use was at the drive through window. There were no drive through customers while I was there. Having the one register open meant that employees were running to it to use instead of using the counter registers so were unaware of customers as they walked into the store. When I walked in the customers there, a couple, had already been helped. One of the seven employees working there rushed from somewhere in the back to help the customers who had just walked in a couple of minutes behind me. I had not been waited on. I said something and everyone apologized. After the girl who rushed out from the back finished with the people who came in after me she asked what she could do for me. I ordered an apple fritter, 2 chocolate glazed and two glazed raspberry jelly filled. The doughnuts are smaller than every other doughnut shop's doughnuts but the bill was over $10. As soon as she boxed my doughnuts she ran off because some doughnuts on a conveyor belt needed her attention which, apparently, the other 6 employees were not qualified to handle. Then she disappeared into the back never to be seen again. My $10+ box of doughnuts sat on the counter near a register. I was the only customer. Customers before and after me had been waited on and left. The shop was in chaos with activity. Then one of the seven employees, panting, grabbed my box of doughnuts and sped off twenty feet away to the drive through window. Since she hadn't helped me she had to open the box to see what to ring up. So with her back to me on a touch screen above one of the two registers near the drive through window she entered my order and was soon joined by a coworker whom, apparently, had sensed that she made a mistake or two and now the two of them made the necessary corrections and after double checking the more seasoned of the two in regards to my box of doughnuts closed the lid on the box picked it up then came running back to me to tell me that my order came to $10.16. I had been there 15 minutes and was the only customer in the store and the drive through had not been active during my visit. My guess is that since they figured that the drive through would be the main source of business they could just use that register for all sales without having to open another register. I'd never seen this done at any of the 20,000 plus fast food establishments I'd patronized prior to Krispy Kreme and the many reasons why were being demonstrated to me before my eyes in minute detail. I paid and left, shaking my head The doughnuts were OK a little on the smallish side and the raspberry jelly doughnuts had less than a teaspoon's worth of jelly filling each. Went through the drive thru at 6am and ordered our donuts, on the menu it states my order comes with donut holes. When I got to the window they said "we are out of donut holes"...at 6am?! How is that possible? They said "we just are" and closed the window. I wouldn't have ordered what I did if I knew it didn't come with the donut holes. I hadn't been to a KK in about 20 years, because there weren't any in Hawaii where I lived. A hotel lobby in L.A. carried them, and I loved the old-fashioneds and chocolate old-fashioneds (no glaze.) When this KK opened, I was excited to eat them again. I went this morning. Sadly, they don't carry these. Every donut offered at this location is glazed. I got a raspberry-filled and a chocolate w/ Kreme filling. I just finished the former, and it was tiny with only about 1 tsp. of raspberry. It was very sweet. I'm already feeling a sugar-high which is not a good thing. If I want a sugar-high, I'll go back to Winchell's or Swiss Donut. I can't comment on the chocolate one because I've already had enough sugar for one day. I hope the "Kreme filling" is custardy, but I won't hold my breath. I was there about 8:15 a.m., parked the car and walked in, rather than going thru the drive-thru, because I wanted to see what was available. I was 2nd in line, and it went quickly. (There was no line in the drive-thru.) The place was clean and the woman who helped me was pleasant. She knew what I meant about the old-fashioneds and said probably other locations made them. So Krispy Kreme advertised a Mars Donut for the landing today. It was all over the internet, the local and national news, radio, billboards etc. Silly me I figured Id get some. Drove down to the shop 10 minutes Walked in 1 person in line a head of me 1 car in Drive thru 8:45 am I anticipated a problem as I saw 7 people behind the counter, only 1 appeared to be working the donut conveyor was running and a bunch of donuts kept falling to the ground because no one seemed to be attending them as they got to the end of the conveyor... The one person that was actually working asked me what I wanted I tried to order a mixed dozen with 4 of the Mars Donuts after going through the other donut varieties the lady told me it would be 10 to 15 minutes before they would have any more of the Mars donuts as they had to make more. I told her the real reason for my visit was those mars donuts and she said were all out. But we will make more if you don't mind waiting. Having seen the pile of donuts accumulating on the floor I said no thanks and bought the first six unremarkable donuts I already had in the box. Another singularly unsatisfying visit to a thoroughly overated Mediocre donut shop. Next time I'll just go to my local Swiss Donut shop They may not have the national advertising or the seasonal special donuts but their Quality and service speaks for itself. Come to think of it so does Krispy Kreme, it just says bad things about Krispy Kreme that they are unable to stock a nationally advertised specialty donut in sufficient quantity and with sufficient Quality to actually sell them to customers that show up to buy them.... If there had been a huge crowd i would have been more understanding, but the only crowd I saw was a lot of people standing around behind the counter doing nothing. You hear all the hype about Krispy Kreme so my family and I decided to give the new location here in Rancho Mirage a try. Tonight 5/17/19 at about 7:15 pm we went through the drive thru and sat at the order speaker for at least 7-8 minutes before someone came over the speaker and said they would be with us shortly. We literally sat there another 5-7 minutes with multiple vehicles stacking up behind us and still no help. Finally just decided to drive away. Worst service ever. I have to give it a 1 star because there isn't anything lower than 1 star! I lived in Atlanta for over 20 years, for a number of years three blocks from the original Krispy Kreme. I, like everyone in Atlanta, were absolutely addicted to Krispy Kreme. When the "Hot" light was on, you walked in and got Krispy Kreme's right off the conveyor. That's where the addiction comes. I have tried twice to get a "hot" Krispy Kreme at the Rancho Mirage store. I was told by the counter person that the ones I was given were just taking off the line. They weren't! Not that they were making Krispy Kreme's at the time. But those were being loaded into trays to be given to people in the morning-12 hours old. Too bad! Sadly after much anticipation, I was extremely disappointed. Clearly Krispy Kreme is a huge brand but the Rancho Mirahe location does not live up it the expectations. Why have menu items displayed that are NOT available?? I've been twice and still no apple critters. Why have the "hot & now" sign lit but deliver me doughnuts that were not hot AT ALL (my mouth was watering with anticipation of a hot, fresh glazed doughnut). This visit was on a Sturday (April 27th) morning between 7/7:30. It is clear, management is unaware of how to manage such a huge brand. Staff procedures and professionalism needs to be improved. So great and sweet! My friends and I enjoyed the hot palm spring weather during my vacation. Once we found this Krispy Kreme shop, we couldn't stop to eat these Krispy kreme donuts. My husband and I go out of town to get Krispy Kreme depending on where we go but it's usually at the block in OC and Ontario. They're still getting the hang of things so yeah things will take time. I'm sure Krispy Kreme will see these reviews and help them out with extra training. When We got there, there's a line which is normal at any Krispy Kreme. but as I was watching the Donuts on the conveyor belt the employees weren't paying attention to the donuts. As the donuts were getting to the end there was a small tray and it definitely wasn't catching the donuts so they were dropping on the floor. And when the donuts were going through they weren't getting glazed. My husband ordered (mind you we go to Krispy Kreme a lot) he asked for two chocolate iced glazed donuts. Go the the register they're chocolate glazed. He told the girl at the register no we asked for chocolate iced glazed. She said in confidence no these are them lol my husband had to show her the names at the display to show her she was incorrect. So as of right now this will be my temporary review. I'm sure they're going to have someone from the company come down and train them better. Update:: the past couple of times we've been there the donut seem a little too sweet. Ok to start off it was our first time at krispy cream, they gave us good service until we got to the end of our service we brought my family and we all just got done paying we went to sit at a table and my sister went to ask for a bag this older lady named Rebecca ignored my sister 3 times until she said "Listen i do not have them ask her" (with an attitude) so we had my aunt to go and she Totally ignored her too so we had my cousin go up to get the bag herself and she called her a B**** at this point the manger came and was defending the lady saying that she never said that and that we were being unreasonable she also would not give her, her name because she thought my cousin would go after her in the parking lot, until later she admitted that she did call her that and did give us her name. Overall it was a horrible first experience for us and the kids that we brought to this establishment. We will not be coming back to this establishment. read more

Terrible customer service even though their highschoolers they still need to realize that the consumers are the ones that pay their paychecks I ordered three donuts and two out of three we're stale. ZERO stars!!!! I am SOOO upset. I have ordered delivery from this Krispy Kreme donut shop twice, the first time was for my daughters school Career Day, we ordered DOZENS of donuts to be delivered. When it was 30 minutes late I called and they informed me that they could not make the delivery, so I had to rush down and pick them up myself. I chalked it up to it being a new business and them trying to get their ducks in a row. The second time I ordered from them was this week, 2 years later. I received an email from them advertising St. Patrick's Day donuts and free delivery, so I jumped on it thinking my kids will love a special delivery from some Irish friends! I ordered them on Monday 3/14 to be delivered at 7:30am on St. Patrick's Day (3/17) a 4 day lead period. I received a text message less than an hour before they were supposed to arrive letting me know that my order has been changed or cancelled and to call the donut shop. When I did I was left on hold for over 20 minutes on the delivery line and repeatedly called the local store where no one picked up!! My mom also pre-ordered 2 dozen St. Patrick's Day donuts for her office but did it through Door Dash and when her delivery driver showed up he called her and informed her that they did not have St. Patrick day donuts and asked what she would like instead. Feeling badly for the Door Dash delivery guy she just asked for an assortment. He was there for 2 hours waiting for donuts that had been pre-ordered!! You would think that they would have seen pre-ordered donuts come in and reached out to their customers letting us know that they were not participating in this nation wide special orders. Having lived in the South, I am a krispy kreme fan. I can accept that shops in more urban areas can't have quite the charm and hand out hot donuts off the belt but I was excited to get a krispy kreme in the neighborhood, nonetheless. I was asked if I had a krispy kreme reward card and if I wanted to sign up. Sure..so I put in my email and phone number and was told I would get an email back. No email and I kind of forgot about it until on my birthday, I wanted to go in for a free birthday donut. I wasn't in the system so my request was rejected and I felt kind of foolish (plus it was on my birthday so not a great start). Anyway, I went in today and the same woman who waited on me on my birthday was taking my payment so I decided to mention that something seemed to go wrong with my reward card. I explained what happened and both she and the manager bent over backwards to make things right and get me my birthday donut. Turns out I had not typed in my full email address! Good lesson on being patient and not writing angry reviews without all the information. Big fan, great customer service and as always, ethereal krispy kremes in Rancho Mirage, California! read more

Rather disappointed. I remember what "fresh, warm" Krispy Kreme donuts tasted like, how they practically melted in your mouth. Not these. At 10am, they were already room temperature and tray after tray after tray were cooked and sitting on cooling racks (possibly an entire day's worth of finished donuts sitting in the corner), the glaze coagulating like cooled gelatin off a canned ham. Not even a HINT of the smell of fresh donuts, the place was a sterile assembly line of people pointing at "red, white, & blue" frosted abominations while employees mumbled "anything else?" Your local Von's bakery has a larger selection, and the employees are a lot less surly. And I think I'll probably get my donuts there. These Krispy Kremes were... very ordinary. read more

I was ecstatic that this place is open because I live in 29 Palms and I have to drive two hours for a decent donut. When we arrived last Sunday afternoon, there was no one in line and we were greeted instantly by a very friendly employee. My family and I picked out our dozen assorted, received a military discount and were on our way in less than 10 minutes (we know what donuts we like).
