I read an ad that said people could get a free donut if they showed a COVID-19 vaccination card. So I went through the drive-through and ordered the chocolate donut with custard. The young woman told me the total charge for that donut and my drink would be a little over five dollars! I asked her why in the world would I have to pay that much if it was a free donut. She said I was paying for the custard inside and for my drink! I couldn't believe it! It was crazy! A free donut but I had to pay for the custard inside? That doesn't sound right. So I asked her which ones could I get for free. And she said the only one that I could get for free, was the glazed donut. There was no mention of this in the ad. So, I ordered the glazed donut and my small drink and I still had to pay over three dollars! The drink looks like it is in a child's cup and as you can see, it fits in the palm of my hand! I had to laugh because I was not expecting this! The young woman was somewhat snobby about explaining this to me and she seemed like she was in a rush. There were no other cars behind me and the place seemed somewhat empty since it was in the late afternoon. So, I was baffled about her attitude. But of course, we all have our bad days. Almost impossible to catch this place open. The hours are laughable...closed on Wednesdays and at 3:00pm other days. I've stopped by twice when the "Hot Now" sign was lit up only to find that upon entering the store there was indeed no hot doughnuts being run. When I suggest they turn the sign off...they looked at me as if I had two heads. Hot doughnuts are sometimes barely warm at this location as they don't give you the most recent doughnuts. This place is so unpredictable...I live near and it's a waste of time. I hope this Krispy Kreme Location gets new management or new owners soon...it's struggled for so long. There are about two days a week it's closed, then the days it is open, the hours are extremely minimal. The donuts from this location in Rancho Mirage are far below KK's standards. The original glazed donuts are too sweet. The glaze is just packed on. Once you bite into them, all the glaze flakes off. The inside is pretty gnarly too with donuts falling on the floor. And the other donuts have been stale both times that I've tried them. This location needs help ASAP. This was my first time at this location since they opened. I went on a Sunday about 9:30 in the morning and I thought for sure it would be packed. there were people there,but it went very smoothly. They do have a drive-through,but I chose to go inside to see what they had. Nothing more frustrating then when you order at the drive-through and they're out of your favorite doughnut! When I went in, I was greeted immediately by the nicest woman-I wish I knew her name. She helped me get my dozen and sent me to the next person who rang me up. The whole process was seamless. I remember Krispy Kreme from years ago. Things are no where near what I remember. Drive through service took forever....slow! Prices are very high. Average donuts prices in our community are 50 cents to $1.29. KK starts at $1.69 each! Evidently there are no more freebies. I always remember being offered a complimentary one. As for the product, if I blindfolded myself before eating it, the only flavors are fake vanilla and sugar. The chocolate covered ones also taste of fake vanilla.. no chocolate flavor. The line was very long when it first opened but I thought it was worth the wait. The donuts were delicious! The workers were very optimistic and made the donuts as fast as possible and by the time they had run out of a flavor, a new batch of it was almost ready. Definitely will try to come back next time I'm in Rancho Mirage. Hopefully the line won't be as long. read more

Everyone there was so sweet my kids got free mini doughnuts and the place is really nice to eat in! They have a cool doughnut factory in the back and it's so much fun to watch it make doughnuts! Had to see if they were as good as the original. They weren't. The Classic Donut was not the same as I remember. When you bit into it it totally collapsed and became flat as paper. The coffee was OK but others have better. Very confusing on how to order and very little seating. Very Disappointing. Prices are expensive. read more

We have been here a few times since they opened and the donuts are good but the real problem is the filling with most of them, almost all of the filled donuts are severely under filled, and to be honest I have actually gotten some that were supposed to be filled but were empty, this is really disappointing considering the reputation. I have become increasingly more dissatisfied with this place! Went through the drive through at 6:30am this morning to pick up doughnuts for my staff. The rather uninspired worker told me were out of Apple fritters when I asked why she said they were to busy to make them. Keep in mind I was the only car in drive through & no customers were in the shop. When I went to use Apple Pay she said that was to difficult in drive through! This is the worst run business I've ever seen. Even though there are registers at the counter the only register in use was at the drive through window. There were no drive through customers while I was there. Having the one register open meant that employees were running to it to use instead of using the counter registers so were unaware of customers as they walked into the store. When I walked in the customers there, a couple, had already been helped. One of the seven employees working there rushed from somewhere in the back to help the customers who had just walked in a couple of minutes behind me. I had not been waited on. I said something and everyone apologized. After the girl who rushed out from the back finished with the people who came in after me she asked what she could do for me. I ordered an apple fritter, 2 chocolate glazed and two glazed raspberry jelly filled. The doughnuts are smaller than every other doughnut shop's doughnuts but the bill was over $10. As soon as she boxed my doughnuts she ran off because some doughnuts on a conveyor belt needed her attention which, apparently, the other 6 employees were not qualified to handle. Then she disappeared into the back never to be seen again. My $10+ box of doughnuts sat on the counter near a register. I was the only customer. Customers before and after me had been waited on and left. The shop was in chaos with activity. Then one of the seven employees, panting, grabbed my box of doughnuts and sped off twenty feet away to the drive through window. Since she hadn't helped me she had to open the box to see what to ring up. So with her back to me on a touch screen above one of the two registers near the drive through window she entered my order and was soon joined by a coworker whom, apparently, had sensed that she made a mistake or two and now the two of them made the necessary corrections and after double checking the more seasoned of the two in regards to my box of doughnuts closed the lid on the box picked it up then came running back to me to tell me that my order came to $10.16. I had been there 15 minutes and was the only customer in the store and the drive through had not been active during my visit. My guess is that since they figured that the drive through would be the main source of business they could just use that register for all sales without having to open another register. I'd never seen this done at any of the 20,000 plus fast food establishments I'd patronized prior to Krispy Kreme and the many reasons why were being demonstrated to me before my eyes in minute detail. I paid and left, shaking my head The doughnuts were OK a little on the smallish side and the raspberry jelly doughnuts had less than a teaspoon's worth of jelly filling each. Went through the drive thru at 6am and ordered our donuts, on the menu it states my order comes with donut holes. When I got to the window they said "we are out of donut holes"...at 6am?! How is that possible? They said "we just are" and closed the window. I wouldn't have ordered what I did if I knew it didn't come with the donut holes. I hadn't been to a KK in about 20 years, because there weren't any in Hawaii where I lived. A hotel lobby in L.A. carried them, and I loved the old-fashioneds and chocolate old-fashioneds (no glaze.) When this KK opened, I was excited to eat them again. I went this morning. Sadly, they don't carry these. Every donut offered at this location is glazed. I got a raspberry-filled and a chocolate w/ Kreme filling. I just finished the former, and it was tiny with only about 1 tsp. of raspberry. It was very sweet. I'm already feeling a sugar-high which is not a good thing. If I want a sugar-high, I'll go back to Winchell's or Swiss Donut. I can't comment on the chocolate one because I've already had enough sugar for one day. I hope the "Kreme filling" is custardy, but I won't hold my breath. I was there about 8:15 a.m., parked the car and walked in, rather than going thru the drive-thru, because I wanted to see what was available. I was 2nd in line, and it went quickly. (There was no line in the drive-thru.) The place was clean and the woman who helped me was pleasant. She knew what I meant about the old-fashioneds and said probably other locations made them. So Krispy Kreme advertised a Mars Donut for the landing today. It was all over the internet, the local and national news, radio, billboards etc. Silly me I figured Id get some. Drove down to the shop 10 minutes Walked in 1 person in line a head of me 1 car in Drive thru 8:45 am I anticipated a problem as I saw 7 people behind the counter, only 1 appeared to be working the donut conveyor was running and a bunch of donuts kept falling to the ground because no one seemed to be attending them as they got to the end of the conveyor... The one person that was actually working asked me what I wanted I tried to order a mixed dozen with 4 of the Mars Donuts after going through the other donut varieties the lady told me it would be 10 to 15 minutes before they would have any more of the Mars donuts as they had to make more. I told her the real reason for my visit was those mars donuts and she said were all out. But we will make more if you don't mind waiting. Having seen the pile of donuts accumulating on the floor I said no thanks and bought the first six unremarkable donuts I already had in the box. Another singularly unsatisfying visit to a thoroughly overated Mediocre donut shop. Next time I'll just go to my local Swiss Donut shop They may not have the national advertising or the seasonal special donuts but their Quality and service speaks for itself. Come to think of it so does Krispy Kreme, it just says bad things about Krispy Kreme that they are unable to stock a nationally advertised specialty donut in sufficient quantity and with sufficient Quality to actually sell them to customers that show up to buy them.... If there had been a huge crowd i would have been more understanding, but the only crowd I saw was a lot of people standing around behind the counter doing nothing.
