People! Let's keep it real. This is a franchised 4' steam table in a freakin' gas station, not some 100 year old homestyle chicken fryin' kitchen in the backwoods of Arkansas. While not a behemoth like McD they do have over 2300 locations in 41 states. Of course their stuff is trucked in, were you expecting maybe that they raised their baby chicks between the unleaded and diesel pumps? Service? Cleanliness? At a gas station? Nope, this place is pretty much the same as the chicken steam table at the deli counter at Safeway or Fry's. In my opinion it does have a few things working for it but also a few things working against it. In the plus column the pieces are bigger, juicier and crispier than the supermarket. Not so good are the prices but think about it, for what you get they are really about the same as Popeye's, KFC or those frozen Banquet boxes and in all honesty they are better than all three. I don't get complaining about the service, what are people expecting at a gas station? You get served by anybody who happens to be at the register handling gas purchases, six-packs of Budweiser and lotto tickets. Some may be friendly and some may have just come off of talking to some rude out of towner who just left them a bad review. All I'm saying is the chicken is better than average, nowhere near the best I've ever had, and the prices were right on the borderline of being so high I would never come back. But I probably will come back for the convenience. Get it? Convenience store?

This was an order prior to the one the mean chick sold me today. This one was decent.

Best fried chicken in the state. It's strange to get chicken from a gas station. You will be pleasantly surprised.

Possibly one of the best seafood meals and restaurant experiences I've ever had!…read more The ambience is amazing. We sat at the bar and had a view of the entire restaurant including the kitchen. The place is a well-run and oiled machine. Best quality seafood in the valley. It's pricey but you get what you pay for. The calamari is epic. A must try! We also have the dozen oysters. They were spectacular and the shrimp cocktail does not get any better than this. The staff is incredibly attentive and skilled. Like I said, you get what you pay for and this place gives you the best!

We had to wait about 10 minutes until we were seated. It is loud in the restaurant, but not horrible. It was a little difficult to hear our server. I believe her name was Rose. Hubby got water & beer. I got water & Tito's & cranberry juice. They definitely were a heavy pour. I wish they would give you a stir sick to stir the mixed drinks because I had to stir mine. I ended up using my knife to stir it. We ordered the dinner rolls. They were really good yeast rolls. I do wish they were served with butter, but they were good. Hubby ordered the beef ribs since we've never had beef ribs & they come with Carolina Gold sauce, which we love. I read in reviews that the sauce was spicy. They must have changed the recipe because I don't do spicy at all, & the sauce was not spicy to me. My level of spicy is Taco Bell mild. The sauce was really good. Hubby liked his ribs, but wouldn't get them again. They were super tender, but a bit fatty. There wasn't as much meat on the ribs as you would think. I got the crab cakes. I switched my side to a loaded baked potato. There was no charge to switch. The crab cakes were really good, There is no filler, but a crispy panko on top. I was disappointed in my baked potato because it was hot or even warm. I also had shell pieces in both of my crab cakes. This is the reason for only 4 stars. They gave us a card, a complimentary box of macaron cookies, & put a message on the board wishing us a happy 33rd anniversary as we left. The service was good, & the food was good. Due to the price we will only come for special occasions. We don't typically spend $180 with tip for a meal regularly.

Almost like being in San Francisco! For dinner we decided to share a couple of things; the crab cakes, which comes with fried avocado and some of the best aioli for dipping. The cakes themselves are big and full of crab with just the right amount of filling to create a decadent and moist cake! We also shared the seared jumbo scallops...High Tides knows how to cook scallops to the best! So yummy and tender and perfectly cooked with that crispy outer and the soft, creamy inside. We also shared a Caesar salad and one of the things we love about this place...ask and you can get some fresh anchovy on the side to add to the salad. Wife always asks for more lemon as well to drizzle over the salad. Overall a fantastic dinner for us and everyone with us!

When it was time to pay, we had to ask another employee to locate our server so we could get the check. We were told that our server was also tending bar, even though we were seated in the dining area. While that may explain the delays, it doesn't excuse them. A Hidden Gem You NEED to Try - Don't Let This Place Stay a Secret!…read moreI've been to Sage & Barrel Craft Eatery a few times now, and every visit leaves me wondering why this place isn't packed every single night. We stopped in on a Monday evening and had the whole vibe almost to ourselves--such a shame because this spot is seriously awesome and deserves a full house! The atmosphere is so vibey--warm, inviting, perfectly lit with that perfect mix of casual and upscale that makes you want to settle in and stay awhile. It feels special without being stuffy, great for date nights, family dinners, or just unwinding with friends over craft beers (their selection is impressive--40+ local options with plenty on tap). But the real star? The food. Everything is scratch-made with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and you can taste the care in every bite. Deeply flavorful, innovative twists on classics, generous portions, and consistently excellent. Whether you go for the Nashville hot chicken and waffles, fish & chips, burgers, or whatever catches your eye, it's all done right. No frozen junk here--just real, delicious food that keeps you coming back. Queen Creek (and the East Valley) needs more places like this. Support local, support quality, and help keep this gem thriving so it doesn't disappear. We'll definitely be back--next time on a busier night so more people can discover it! If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and go. Tell your friends. Mondays (and every night) deserve Sage & Barrel. You won't regret it.

I had been here a few times since it first opened, but it had been a while since the last visit. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted and sat. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Even offered a recommendation for a seasonal drink that was pretty refreshing. What We Ordered: ~ Angry Edamame: Always love edamame, and add some seasoning with a little spice - perfection! ~ Snow Crab (trifecta, spice level 3) + corn: My usual go to, but wish I did Level 4 though the server talked me out of it saying it's a big jump between the two levels. Next time, I'm going for it! Pretty decent flavor, though I've preferred other crab boils in the valley recently. ~ Fried Oyster Po Boy: My boyfriend said he wasn't a big fan of this comparative to the ones he has had growing up in Florida. Definitely a pass for next time. ~ Hot Honey Blueberry Lemonade: Very refreshing and perfect for the Arizona heat. Definitely love to see this drink on the menu or seasonally. Overall, a great experience with a low key atmosphere that you'd expect for a crab shack. Love the sinks to wash your hands! A great place for us in the east valley to get our seafood boil fix.

She had a bigger group to attend to so was a little slow but understandable. Food was okay but for the price... Crab: 3/5. For $85 bucks they should provide scissors bc the crackers did not work on the soft shells so was a PITA to get out the crab. And the seasoning doesn't get on the crab so if you like it you have to dip back into the bag. Lobster Roll: 4/5. For $20 bucks it was small but it came with a good portion of tender lobster and melted butter for dipping. The cajun fries were also good. This was out second time at this location bc our kids and grandkids love it but we wouldn't go back of our own accord as we expect more at that price point.
