Awesome food! Generous portions. Better than Popeyes or Carls Junior or KFC! Amazing value for what you get and this is so fresh and juicy! Great job!

    Looks great and smells yummy

I love the food it's so delicious and made with pride and love from everyone that works there,

Perfect gas station chicken. We decided to try Krispy Krunch Kricken. Pick up some sides as well. It was ok. The Mashed potatoes taste like KFC. Mac and Cheese is helped with veleeta cheese. The potatoes JoJos was good. The chicken reminds me of,"Churches chicken" You are served by gas attendees. They also warm up the chicken or fried it or whatever. You walk in to the gas station. Look to the right the warm up stand is there. You ordered your food. Then stand in line with some one with a 12 pack of beer and someone filling up there gas tank. It was a rush order because people wanted to get their gas or beer and move on. The attendees tried their best to serve you properly. All in all, the chicken and sides were good. We will be back. Just be aware you are buying chicken at a gas station and dealing with the elements. Limited customer service.

    Chicken tenders and jambalaya

I think I may have found my new favorite cheap fried chicken place in the area. Ordered the 8pc dark and 6pc chicken tender meal combo with jambalaya via Uber Eats. The combo is supposed to include a honey biscuit too but it was missing from my order, so deduct a half point there. The chicken arrived lukewarm but still tasted pretty good, if it's piping hot out of a fryer I'd bet it'd be amazing. Both the fried chicken and chicken tenders are seasoned with a heavy hand, but I'm a salt addict so found them flavorful. Others may find them too salty. The fried chicken is thinly battered and the skin crisp and salty which has been my favorite part. Many other fried chicken places have too much of a crispy batter that when you bite into it there's just way too much crumbles before you get to the chicken. The chicken tenders are all white meat and pretty flavorful too, so a great option if you're craving fried chicken but wanted something healthier. The jambalaya is average, quite salty but not terrible and has sausage in it. Considering this place is even cheaper than Jollibee in Southcenter, the taste surpassed my expectation. I actually think it's better than Jollibee.

Chicken was good. Ordered 12 piece family platter. Half chicken and half tenders. It was a lot of food for two adults and 3 kids. Had plenty for two meals. I will say the biscuits were hard. Not sure if maybe they just gave us the last ones that had been sitting under the heater or if their biscuits are always that hard. They were very hard. But the chicken made up for that. The potatoes were also very good. Definitely plan on ordering again and recommending.

    Chicken tenders

Ok. So I never thought that I'd say "My favorite chicken comes from a gas station." But here we are! Guys this chicken (and everything else actually) is SO. DANG. GOOD. We always get chicken tenders and they're always bomb! The fish is fantastic and the biscuits are so so good. We've always had really hot and fresh food from this location and we've taken it to go back to Everett quite a few times. Even by the time we get back home it's still delicious! The guy that runs it (or at least the one that's always in there) is always super nice when my husband goes inside to pick up our food. Even if we have to wait for fresh food, it's totally worth it. I know getting food from a gas station can sometimes seem kind of sketchy but trust me on this. Go.

Yep it's true, the best fried chicken in the area is from a gas station! Seriously!!! Flavorful, juicy, big, crispy, delicious.. We made a rookie mistake and showed up to order the whole menu thinking they had it already cooked and ready to go, well we were wrong. We waited about a half hour but IT WAS WORTH IT. Call in your orders! There were so many regulars who called in and waltzed out with their orders. Don't be shy, give them a call. Get the fried chicken, get the wings and definitely get the chicken strips.

Ordered family meal. Large portions. Kinda salty. Probably equivalent to KFC or Popeyes in terms of taste but when the experience (lots of food out on a picnic for a pretty cheap price) makes up for it. Also I thought this was a normal restaurant but it's just a little cart in the gas station.

8-piece mixed chicken. Two thumbs up!

This review is for the Renton location as I could not find a yelp page for it. Ordered the 8-piece mixed fried chicken and it was sooo good!! There's a hint of spice (very faint), perfectly cooked and extra crunchy chicken. Next time I need to try the chicken wings, red beans and rice, and fries. Two thumbs up!!

Food: Very good food. I ordered the brisket plate with creamed corn (brisket 9/10. Good flavor, good ring on it and flavorful + it wiggles which a good brisket slice should. Corn was pretty sweet but good). My only issue as a Southern spot it please include a slice of bread (white or texas toast + pickles with the meat plates.) the bbq is a homemade bbq sauce thats sooo darn good! Id buy a bottle or two! My wife ordered a brisket sandwich with fries and coleslaw. The brisket sandwhich was of course good with a buttery bun. The coleslaw (was lacking good flavor; not a fan personally). The fries were frozen fries and descent. We also had hush puppies; pretty good. Service: AMAZING service from Mia. Such a sweetheart and gem. She helped us make good picks from the menu. Ambiance: a very large building! When we went it was empty and during early day. Very clean, clean bathrooms and music playing. The look/feel gives more "country" vs southern. I was expecting to hear southern soul vibes on the music, and photos or items throughout that gave "southern bbq vibes". A dope touch would be dope photos of black or southern cowboys, and etc. lots of opportunity for a real down south vibe to be created. Overall- very pleased. I hope they have another 50+ years of business while stay true to their southern roots. Love love lovee

I stopped in about 30 mins after they opened on a friday and they had a lunch rush, everything is cooked to order so be prepared to wait at least 20mins. I ordered the 6oz catfish and chips which came with 3 catfish strips, fries, 1 hush puppy, chips and a drink ($16.99) I also got a side of mac&cheese. The positives: staff was kind, pastor at the counter would make jokes with customers and you could tell they had regulars during lunch time. Fries were well seasoned, hush puppy was good and Mac was acceptable. My only issue with the catfish was that it was overcooked and became a bit chewy (see photo). Sitting in there it seems like the wings were a customer favorite so I would love to go back and try their wings and other sides. Since my order took longer (there was a large order right before mines) the pastor at the counter thanked me for my patience and threw in a dessert.

The place is quaint and the people are friendly. And the food here delivers in every possible way. If you appreciate Soul Food and/or Southern Food then this is the place for you. The cabbage here was everything I could ever ask for. I wanted more when I was done. The Mac & cheese didn't look like much to me but man did it serve on tastes. It was cheesy, seasoned and cooked just right. The fried chicken was cooked fresh and seasoned to perfection. My breast was still juicy and piping hot. Call ahead for to go orders or you'll spend your time waiting for the chicken to be fried. The peach cobbler here is not my preferred way to have as I like a pie crust with mine but oh my goodness, I took one bite and couldn't stop savoring this dessert. Do yourself and get you some. Open Fridays & Saturdays, and the menu slightly rotates weekly so check their website ( southerngrill1.com ) to check menu and confirm hours. I literally ate everything on my plate. Then we came back on a Saturday early evening. And the food tasted old. I noticed when I was checking my receipts on Saturday. The guy has said oh you don't have to tip because you're a huge party. When a party of six your tip is automatically included which is the 18%. and I was like oh wow we had six on Tuesday and I left a $25 cash tip. And he said although waiter should've told you it's automatically taken out and the 18% was already taken care of. And I was like no I handed the waitress $25 cash and she never said 18% was taken out and I didn't pay attention to my receipt cause I had children with me but then when I looked back in my car on Saturday night from Tuesday, I realize that she double charged me. So on Tuesday she got over a $50 tip. The waitress on Tuesday she was a Hispanic lady with dark black hair. She robbed me. So please be aware you're going with the party of six or more. They automatically take out 18% gratuity. And I did not like that because she should've told me that you don't have to leave cash. She knew my kids were crying and I was trying to yo leave and not distract the other guest. But on the positive note, the place is nicely decorated. And service is good. I just felt robbed, so for that fact I will never ever be coming back. If you were looking to try this place for the first time come early if you want hot fresh food. If you come later in the evening, the food does taste old.
