Kriti Kitchen is such a hidden gem! The food is super fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care and you can really taste the difference. Total gem alert . The vibe is bright, calm, and a little coastal, and everything tastes super fresh. I love the mezze board it is so flavorful. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The place is small but cozy, perfect for a relaxed lunch or quick dinner. I love that they have grab-and-go meals for later. Definitely worth checking out if you love Greek or Mediterranean food!

This place is a hidden, adorable Greek Spot with attention to detail and quality of food that you would not expect to be in this shoppinh complex. The food here is honest, proudly and deliciously made and seasoned to perfection. You can tell their ingredients are fresh and carefully sourced to create the beautiful dishes they offer. You can also buy the meals premade for not so bad of a price to re-experience your favorite meals here at home! I was surprised how delicious this meal was and knowing its also healthy for me was the cherry on top. Thank you , Kriti Kitchen for a wonderful experience!!

Good selection of items to go.

Kriti Kitchen is a small, bright counter service Greek spot width fresh, seasonal dishes. They have an excellent cooler with items to take home. I love the meatballs, the roast okra, and the seasonal salads.

One of the best restaurants in Houston is Kriti's Kitchen. We discovered this wonderful place through a friend at church during Covid. We ordered take-out and every dish was delicious. Convenient free parking is another advantage over other fine dining locations. Today, I ordered the seafood special , Herbed Chilean Sea Bass over horta and white beans. What a fantastic dish! Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Vegetarian and gluten free menu options are available. Take a look at the freezer and fridge items. Family favorites are spanokopita and chicken souvlaki. Baklava cookies and almond shortbreads offer something sweet after a savory meal.

For all the times I've been in this complex (probably too distracted by Homegoods), I can't believe I've never noticed this Greek spot! The inside was so cute with all the details of Greece. I was wanting something lighter and healthier for lunch and am so glad Kriti Kitchen came up on my search. We got the Meat Mezze board and Moussaka to share. The chicken kabob and meatballs were both so tender, juicy, and flavorful. The pickled cucumbers. carrots (pickled cumin flavor ?), and dip complimented the savoriness of the meats well. I've never tried Moussaka before, but I know I will be craving this dish! It's basically an eggplant lasagna with ground beef. Served with perfectly toasted bread on the side. Can't wait to come back to try more dishes! Also nice to know that there's grab and go options that can be reheated at home.

I ordered the gluten free chicken wrap with okra to-go. It was hot and fresh. Very good.

    Beef Keftedes & Quinoa Keftedes

Let me just say, ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! I got the regular beef keftedes and my sister got the quinoa & sweet potato keftedes and they were just so tasty! The sauce that came with both (I believe mine was tzatziki and not sure what sauce my sister had) complimented each keftedes. We also got the lemon potatos (not pictured) and they had the perfect amount of lemon flavor to them! The restaurant was quaint but cute, and the staff was friendly. I will be back soon

    Briami
    Alexandra K.

A small cute and easy to shop place with food ready to take home and bake. I got the Briami, which took 20 min to heat at home, and the Galaktoboureko. The Briami was a yummy vegetable dish with quite a bit of flavor. I wasn't the biggest fan but that might be because I thought it needed a bit more salt. All together it was easy to make, inexpensive and tasted fine. The Galaktoboureko was honestly not my cup of tea. It's was like a thick layer of something dairy related between flakey pastry sheets but just too milky for my preference. This was the first time I've ever had this dish so I have no idea if it was authentic or true to flavor. Overall the staff was very kind and the checkout experience was great.

Officially the authentic Greek restaurant without going overboard. Wait- the homemade 3 layer chocolate cake and the lemon cake! Actually bought a whole one for a large birthday party and everyone wanted to know the bakery name- just Athena's homemade cake! Remember, Greek food is fresh with best ingredients. When the entree arrived I thought the lamb shank looked small. Taste wise it was good but I have had better. Also the potatoes were as advertised however their appearance and taste to me was average. Again this meal comes with the same enjoyable side salad with bread and I chose the Briami as the supplied side dish. The Kokkinisto (Greek beef stew) arrived on a bed of rice and covered in its herbed tomato sauce with garlic and onions. The Briami was in a separate bowl of stewed veggies in a light tomato sauce. I liked this meal better. The stew had good flavor with tender beef and a tasty red sauce. Also the veggies were good tasting too. I gave this meal a 4. Finally the waitress was very friendly. I believe her name was Jennifer? I like this restaurant and believe they serve good tasting and authentic Greek food.

Established back in 1977, this Greek café has grown from a humble walk‑up window into a full‑fledged neighborhood institution, beloved for its hearty Mediterranean comfort food and lively, come‑as‑you‑are atmosphere. The Montrose location stays bustling from lunch through late night, drawing in everyone from families to night‑owls to longtime regulars who've been coming here for decades. What keeps people returning is simple: the food hits. Diners consistently praise the authentic Greek flavors, especially the gyro plates -- a blend of beef and lamb shaved from the spit, tucked into warm, fresh pita, and finished with cool, garlicky tzatziki. Portions are generous without being sloppy, and the pricing stays reasonable, making it one of the best value spots in the neighborhood. Your gyro arrives stacked, your fries come hot, and your plate feels like it was built by someone who actually wants you to leave full. The menu is huge, but the classics shine brightest. The Greek salad is crisp and refreshing, loaded with feta, olives, tomatoes, and their famous dressing. Service here is fast, friendly, and efficient -- the kind of counter‑style operation where the staff keeps things moving without losing the warmth that makes the place feel welcoming. Guests frequently mention how upbeat and helpful the team is, even during rush hours. The vibe is lively but never chaotic: families grabbing dinner, couples sharing mezze plates, and regulars chatting with staff like old friends. It's casual, energetic, and unmistakably Montrose. One thing that sets Niko Niko's apart is its deep Houston history. The Fetokakis family has run the restaurant for nearly half a century, maintaining a strong work ethic and a commitment to quality that helped the café earn multiple Houston Press awards over the years -- from Best Pork Chops to Best Family‑Owned Restaurant. Even as the city has changed around it, Niko Niko's has stayed true to its roots: hearty food, Greek hospitality, and a community‑driven spirit. Whether you're grabbing a quick gyro, sitting down for a full spread, or stopping by for dessert after a night out, Niko Niko's delivers exactly what a neighborhood staple should: great food, great value, and a welcoming atmosphere. The flavors are bold, the portions are generous, and the experience feels like Houston -- diverse, warm, and full of character. If you're in Montrose and craving Greek comfort done right, this spot remains one of the city's most reliable pleasures.

While the wine selection and date friendly vibes were good selling points, the subpar service, high prices, and average food made for a less than stellar experience. These factors likely contributed to their recent closure, which is unfortunate. The interior was modern and intimate. High ceilings and large mirrors made the place feel more spacious than it was. It was a nice vibe that made the place visually appealing and date friendly. The brick walls, nice decor pieces, and ultra clean bathrooms were a big thumbs up. But vibes can't save poorly executed food. The octopus was dry and overcooked, the potato croquettes were a bit disappointing, as was, the trio of of dips. The souvlaki was supposed to be their most popular dish, but after trying their ribeye, pork, and chicken, it was simply too bland and not up to par. The gyro platters did not fare much better and the lamb chops were under seasoned. The lemon potatoes needed way more lemon but the only dish that was acceptable was the spanakopita (aka spinach pie). It was all overpriced, especially given the modest portions. Service was often aloof or nowhere to be found. When the nice woman butchered souvlaki and spanakopita, my gut was already in cringe. At least there was discount for cash. The server rushed over and either he was inexperienced or ready to go home. I could tell either he was done for the day and had the attitude of let's hurry up and get this table out or just lacked experience. 1. Please update your Google business page or any place online that lists your hours. It still shows that the restaurant closes at 11pm. Unfortunately, we were not aware of the updated hours and thought we would have plenty of time to enjoy the frena, some pulpo, and wine...we were mistaken! The server said the kitchen closes at 9pm and we looked down at our watch it was 8:47pm.........and then said we could stay until 10 but last call on food. When I decided between my sparkling rose over the prosecco I tried, instead of grabbing me a brand new glass, he poured it into my sample glass, no dig to Postino's, but that's not what you'd accept an upscale restaurant such as Okto. It's good etiquette to grab a new glass. The octopus was overly salty, and the bread from the Frena was not the same as I had remembered. They made a very unclassy move and increased the volume of the music playing over the restaurant as a tactic to feel the urgency to wrap up and leave. 2. I asked if there was a sommelier available that evening, and the server looked at me like he didn't even know what a sommelier was, or if it was some type of dish! lol...train your staff better. Even if the sommelier was not available that evening or they no longer have one, they should be able to provide an appropriate response. (Insert facepalm) Overall, the service and the food were sub par. I'm glad I was able to see Okto at its best from my previous dining experiences, but I will not be returning after the experience I just had last night.
