Pre-pandemic, we shopped the specials at 2-3 grocery stores each week. During the pandemic, we started using Kroger's pickup service and we've never looked back. We now shop Kroger exclusively. We check their online ad on Wednesday and do our online order on Wednesday or Thursday for a Friday pickup. Most of the time, our order is perfect - with no substitutions and no "out of stock" items. And, on the few occasions when we do get a substitution, it's always a very acceptable substitution - usually an upgrade over what we ordered but without any up charge, I've picked up over 200 times without any complaints. read more

I've been meaning to write this for sooo long... oh boy, here goes: First of all, I want to thank that cart attendant that noticed me on my last day in Ohio and somehow knew something was up with me (I have rbf, but THAT day was different) and said something like "everything's gonna be okay". To that girl, thank you. I mean I musta looked extra or something, but thanks anyway. You're definitely special. Ok, phew, as far as the store goes, why do you guys shut one entrance at like 6? Why does it get so sketchy after 8? And why why why doesnt Kroger take apple pay?!!! Yes, it was the closest grocery store to me, and yes it keeps decent prices, and yes it's nice you have a gasoline station... but hwhYY did you remodel after I spend the last two years learning the layout of your store?! I mean, whatever, im just one person, but to have to deal with everyone else asking where the toothpaste paste aisle went and dodging Kroger delivery pickers, I had just about had it. Nevermind that half the lot is taken up by parking spaces dedicated to deliveries and cart storage. nevermind that the pharmacy never had enough vax to fullfill their appointments. and nevermind that your firewood always sold out during winter snow storms. All one asks of their neighborhood grocer is to have milk and eggs in stock and at a decent price. But NOOooOO you felt the need to rearrage a quarter of your store during my last month in town. Big problem for a month with prices on the shelves and stand-up displays not correct - items ring up at prices up to 5 times the posted prices. Ridiculous and fraudulent. No one on duty at self-checkout anymore, no one around to help, workers block many aisles. Customer Service online will not help. I won't be going back here. read more

This guy.... (Not the normal gentleman)... The meat/seafood counter employee of the sunbury rd store was throwing a fit this evening at myself and the three other patrons. Because "he" was closing early and "refusing to help." When asked why, we were screamed at because the other employees were not there (fired, off, or who know). This Kroger is great! You run into a few more rude people that the ones in Westerville and Polaris, but just keep on walkin. The store is always clean, normally well stocked, check out staff are kind and always helpful. The liquor store inside also has a great selection, if they don't have what you want you can always ask and they'll try to get it. Woot! read more

Had to make a quick run to get some baked goods for work for the next day. Walking up to the entrance, I saw they had a bunch of Fall decorations! They had pumpkins, mums in all colors, and other cute Fall things! So I rushed in and there were all kinds of pumpkin flavored baked goods, as well as other delicious looking offerings. Yum! I must have picked up 7 or 8 different goodies, only to put one down and move onto the next! The good thing was that they had a huge selection! The bad was that it was hard to make up my mind and limit my choice to just one item! I finally made my choice and went up to the self checkout and checked out without a single problem, picked up my bag and was back in my car, all within about 12 minutes! How great is that? If this Kroger wasn't the closest grocery store to my house, I would go somewhere else. I have never seen more than 2 checkout lines open, despite very long lines waiting for those two. The saving grace of this Kroger are Doug at the produce counter and Mary at the self checkout. read more

The pandemic has taken its toll, I get it. And it's hard to keep anywhere fully staffed if they can't both keep their employees safe and also able to pay their bills. But the quality of service has deteriorated enormously in the past couple years, and the pharmacy especially has gone downhill in a hurry. It would take too much space to describe all my issues with the pharmacy, but I'm very eager to start going somewhere else for these needs as soon as possible. Things out of stock, surly employees not taking the time to listen to what you have to ask or say, getting the wrong prescriptions filled - the works. To top it off they've reduced their hours as a result of staffing issues. I really do feel for the workers, but that's in my role as a regular human being. In my role as a customer with medical needs, empathy is nice but it doesn't get me my medications. Pretty soon I'll be exploring other options. read more

Ok this is based a lot on our most recent trip here last Sunday. Shelves were very poorly stocked, especially produce. Bagged salad selection was poor. Also no fresh green peppers or bulk onions. One handful of fresh green beans. Frozen food shelves were also poorly stocked. None of the frozen breakfast items we were looking for were available. By the time we checked out I was pretty frustrated. Only 2 lanes open & my husband mentioned to manager that it was getting busy and they might have to open more checkouts and guy said "I hope not" huh? Same Kroger customer service, but I'm adding a star for the new liquor dept. I found the much older gentleman working on a Friday holiday weekend at 9pm to be extremely knowledgable, helpful, and friendly. Not to mention fast. I was in such a hurry to get into line, that I grabbed the Captain and scurried. The line moved quickly. He asked me if I "saw the larger size was on sale?" Upgraded, check! "Here's a mail in rebate for another $5 off." Bonus, check! "Do you carry the Crown Apple in smaller sizes?" He pointed to the small flask size but then pointed at the airplane travel pack, which he said was a better price per milliliter. Score! This all went so quick that the people in line did not seem to mind. Out into the store for a Snapple Apple mixer... employee says "we're out, try tomorrow." without going to look. I got lucky walking by one of those cash register coolers. Paid for S/A, and yelled loudly back to the lazy clerk across 8 registers. "Thanks for not going to look for it. They have remodeled over the past few years! I used to live in the neighbor so I used to shop there very often. I will say as soon as I walked in BOY, was I surprised. It looks totally different. Lately (the summer of 2019), the Kroger on Sunbury Rd. has given up on using cashiers. The last four times I've shopped there (around 8:00 pm), the line at the one human check-out had more than seven people with over-loaded carts and a half-hour wait. The self check-out had at least three machines "closed," so the self-check line stretched across three aisles and was a twenty-minute wait -- just to use the check-out. If you go to the Sunbury Rd. Kroger, plan on an extra half hour there. Also plan on very stressed workers. Is this a cost-saving policy? If so, it shows great disrespect for the customers and the workers. read more

I used this service again today to restock the house after a long family vacation. It seemed to be the best way vs having to drag the kiddo along on a long shopping trip. The experience this time around was certainly over 5 stars. Rverything was available (or substituted correctly), items such as fruit amd veg were pucked specifically yo my instructions, and Matt was more than a pleasant check out host! We just moved to the area and I've long been a loyal Kroger customer. This Kroger has been a real disappointment. Yesterday, I went in to buy some produce and began checking myself out at the self-checkout. Of course, as it so often does, the self-checkout decided that there was a problem with my order (I have no idea what it perceived to be a problem) and froze my order with a "Help is on the way!" message. After spending a short time looking around like a prairie dog waiting for that help to arrive, I concluded that help was, in fact, not on the way. I begrudgingly went to another kiosk and began scanning all of my items again. The same thing happened. I simply left all the items right there and went to another grocery store. Today, I went there to buy some salmon. The black gentleman working in the meat and seafood section seemed to see me approach as I was standing directly in front of him, but made no offer to help and instead engaged a coworker in small talk. I stood there for a few moments waiting to be acknowledged and when I was not, I decided to leave. I won't be returning. read more

The management here refuses to staff enough personnel on weekends. And after 7pm, there is only ONE person at the self check-out. That's it. The line goes well into other food aisles. The staff is extremely frustrated with the management and will tell you all about it if you ask. If you want a QUICK check-out as advertised- NOT THIS KROGER. read more

This Kroger location may deserve more stars once you get inside, however if you have any COVID19 concerns, this may not be for you. Arrived and went in to get a cart inside. Two employees were arranging the carts. I inquired which ones were disinfected and was instructed none of them. I'd in wanted a disinfected cart I would have to clean it myself and they pointed to the spray bottle and roll of paper towels to self serve. The same spray bottle that every other customer who wanted a disinfected cart would have touched prior to me. Thanks, but no thanks! read more

4 stars for the sushi guy. He does a great job and his sushi is always great. Other than that it is your typical Kroger. Great in a pinch but not at all my go to place. Bacon out of the meat counter is good and the deli is decent. 4-stars for the sushi for sure. On a side note the parking lot is just like the maxtown location, it's a death trap. Horribly engineered and down right dangerous. Also like the Kroger in Pickerington on refugee. They definitely have the absolute worst designed parking lots ever. Be careful driving in it and walking across it. Parking gets one star and that's only because you can park your car in it and it's paved! read more

Kroger is okay by me. For some reason, the name has always bugged me - can't tell you why exactly but that's about all I don't like about it. The store is always super clean and the employees are polite and helpful. I love that they have a liquor store and a Starbucks inside. Also, I love the fact that they are a ticketmaster supplier. You can get tickets to events, concerts and even the zoo cheaper than you can online or at the door - pretty cool. While it may be true that some of their non perishable items are a bit pricier than say, WalMart, they have great weekly specials and sales. Oh yea.....they do the build your own six pack - which is also pretty cool! read more

RANT ALERT Kroger Click List So........I was so excited to use my Kroger Click List for my Thanksgiving Dinner shopping. I thought it would be easy and convenient especially around a holiday and it would make my life so much easier. I shopped on line on Monday and ordered all of the things I needed for a large Thanksgiving feast, paid for it and arranged to pick it up on my way home from work on Friday. (By the way, I live 80 miles from the nearest click list Kroger). After, I hit the submit button, it occurred to me that I had a conflict in my schedule and would really like to have set the time to 1 hour earlier. I called the 800 number for Click It and inquired if I could change the time to 1 hour earlier. I was told that you cannot change the location, date or time once the order has been placed. By the way, the web site does say this. So, I was stuck. On Friday morning at 10am, I called the store that I would be picking up from, and just verified one more time that I had to wait until 4pm. I was told that I would have to wait until my scheduled pick up time at 4pm because they had not started my shopping yet. At 1pm, I received a call from the Kroger store informing me that they had to push back my pick up time to 8pm. They said that they had no shoppers for click list and that I was one of 100 that needed to be changed. (This is a HUGE problem for me because I live 80 miles away, I was not going to travel 80 miles back to pick up my groceries later that night and then another 80 miles home). The reason I pick up groceries from the store is because I pass them on my way home from work. They then told me I could come in on Saturday (my day off) and pick them up. Obviously that is not convenient for me either. Why should I drive 3 hours to pick up groceries when I can shop locally and be home in less than 2? I was then told "in order to keep their customer service commitment, they would bring my groceries to me." I explained that I lived 80 miles away and I was not exaggerating. Her reply to me was that "she had a full tank of gas," I then in turn said, good because you're going to need it. I hung up and thought that my groceries were going to be delivered sometime after 9:30pm At 3:00PM, I received another call from Kroger, I was told that the manager said that "Cambridge Ohio was to far for a delivery" REALLY? I think I made it perfectly clear how far it was. I was able to cancel my order BUT..............It will take a couple of business days to get my money back. (Keep in mind, this was a LARGE order). I then called the corporate office to file a complaint on the store. The customer service rep was rude and kept interrupting me. She kept saying that I needed to hold a minute while she filed my complaint, the problem was I was not finished with the entire complaint. I had to make her stop 3 times. At the end of the conversation she said "thank you Ms Russ, I will file your complaint with the store and be sure to look for our ads this weekend" (I did not make this up!) Here is a synopses of the PROBLEMS: 1. You are not permitted to change a date and time of your pick up - BUT THEY CAN! 2. When you place an order you have to pay for the order at that time, however, they cannot refund your money on demand it will take days. 3. They did not employee enough staff to meet the demand, especially at a holiday peek. 4. Cooperate office does not care about your complaint. By the way, I don't think I will be needing the ad page this week (or ever). read more

A wonderful grocery store from their new retrofit the sushi bar is spot-on some of the best sushi I've had since I've left the Northeast IE New Hampshire Maine and Mass the deli is really good just wish they had fresh side bacon everything about the store is clean and neat if you have any problems or can't find something just ask one of the employees there quick to help you and every time I've gone in they've literally showed me where it's at on the counters I love this store read more

Twice now I have shopped there at 6:30 a.m. I am in the risk category for covid 19. Both times at least half the staff were walking around without masks, as were a few customers. If you're going to tell the public that you require masks please enforce that rule or give us advance warning that it is not a true requirement. read more

a few weeks ago I purchased some meat for a large group I was cooking for. The Butcher was very helpful in person, and on the phone. I have trouble with my hands sometimes, so they packed the large order in smaller more manageable packets for me, even helped load my cart. They knew what I wanted, sold me the correct cut of meat, and also a great price!!! Recipe turned out Great!! Thanks Sal and all the guys in the Meat Department!! read more
