    Kumo set.
    Dennis L.

Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon when craving some sushi. I was at the SAG building and this place was near by. The plaza is small and shares it with several other businesses. Parking is very limited. I had to park at the nearby residential area and then moved my car once a spot opened up. Couldn't find any meter parking as they were all taken. I got 3 Kumo sets. I ate 2 and my kid ate 1. It was fresh and great quality sushi. We enjoyed everything and we will be back next time we are in the area. You order from a tablet and pay on your own. It was quick and easy. Check their hours. They are open from 4pm. Definitely recommend.

DISGUSTING! DISGUSTING!! DISGUSTING!!! I will never return nor recommend them! Ever! Their "fish" looked and tasted fake and nasty. Made me feel sick instantly! Can't believe they took over the space once 2 Cents closed.

Came here after my friend told me about their $20 Kumo sushi set, and it was totally worth it. FOOD: 5/5 The set included crispy rice tuna, a tuna roll, and four pieces of sushi. Everything tasted super fresh, and one of the sushi pieces was toro, which melted in my mouth. Amazing quality for the price. Would definitely come back and recommend supporting this spot. SERVICE: 5/5 You order at a kiosk when you walk in. Seating is limited (only two tables for now), so it's more of a quick bite place, but service was fast. The girl who gave me my order was really nice, and the sushi was made fresh without a long wait. ATMOSPHERE: 4/5 Small, casual sushi spot with minimal parking, but there's street parking nearby. It wasn't crowded when I went, which made it a chill experience.

All this for only 20 dollars!!! The dish was fresh, melt in your mouth, and buttery. Please go support this newly opened business! It's mostly take out for now but they have 1-2 tables for you to sit and eat there. It's a music go if you are anywhere near the area because it's an amazing deal! They make everything fresh to order. The chutoro quality was crazy! For a 20 dollar set. The spicy tuna crispy rice was perfectly crispy and the tuna was melt in your mouth and so fresh! I drove through traffic for this and have to say it's worth it. Packaging is a 10/10! They give you everything you need. Their prices for their other rolls are super fair and affordable for the type of quality they're providing. It's too tier restaurant quality!

Heard so many good things about this new sushi restaurant and was so excited to try. I got their set that came with crispy rice tuna, two pieces sashimi, nigiri, spicy tuna roll and edamame seaweed salad and miso soup on the side. Price came out to be 37$ but I wanted to try a little bit of everything and was down for this little sampler menu. Really wanted to like this place but the sashimi was thrown around randomly, every time I picked a nigiri piece the rice just fell off and I thought the texture on the crispy rice tuna was stale. Side dishes and miso soup were fine but was genuinely not impressed.

Always a good meal here. I'm excited to see the market open up! Can't wait to see it. Service is fast considering how many orders pile up. Such an easy place to drop by and pick up sushi on the way home

I came across this place online and decided to check it out. If you do, please note they are still in their soft opening so there is limited seating, etc. all employees were super friendly and the quality of the fish was great. Super excited for when they open!

The $20 special is so good and such a great deal. The quality of fish was amazing and so fatty! There are only 2 small tables inside but they offer takeout! I will 100% be coming back.

The sushi set and salmon plate. Missing our other orders.

First time there. Last time ever. We ordered take out for the dinner. The person working the counter was giving half an effort in helping us. It is pretty pricey for a very small amount of food. Their set is $30 but feeds one person. We ordered and got home and were missing food items. Over-priced, lousy help, and missing food. No thanks.

This is personally my favorite sushi spot in Los Angeles. I've tried a lot of different places in LA, but this one hits the nail for me because of how they season their rice and emphasize good quality fish. I've been trying to look for a go-to for a while now, but this one for sure is it for me. Chef Roy, George, and the staff are so welcoming and kind. They're funny too, I heard them re-enacting "Yes Chef" from The Bear TV show. It made me laugh as they definitely know how to have fun while serving their customers. Small spot with limited parking inside the plaza, but there's never any issues with street parking. Seats are also limited too, so order to-go if anything. Will come back (again) for my next sushi fix. I've come here twice in two days... the Kumo Set is too good. The tuna is the BEST & melts in your mouth.

This is the best sushi I have eaten in a long time! The fish quality is unbelievable, the tuna sashimi melted in my mouth. Chefs are super friendly, and prices are affordable. I hope them the best of luck in their new restaurant! I had the Kumo Combo (so delicious I forgot to take a picture) and a Nigiri Omakase. BOMB!!

Cool variety of rolls, Spicy Tuna, Salmon Avocado, California, and Seared Salmon. Delicious.

I finally found a local sushi place that tastes great and was fast! My only complaint is that the Miso Soup was lukewarm, still had a good flavor.

Delicious salmon avocado rolls with soy paper!

No debate, no hesitation. Just ramen. I had tried this spot at another location before and remembered liking it, so it felt like a safe, comforting choice for a long overdue catch-up. We got there at that in-between hour... not quite lunch, not quite dinner. The kind of time where the restaurant feels like it's just exhaling. It was completely empty except for us, which honestly made everything feel a little more intimate--like the space was ours for the afternoon. We sat down and immediately slipped into conversation, picking up right where we left off after graduation. Life updates, little wins, quiet struggles... the kind of conversation that only comes easy with people who've known you for years. And in between all that, our mouths were busy. The ramen came out hot, comforting, and exactly what we needed. Rich broth, satisfying noodles--one of those meals where you don't even realize how hungry you were until you take the first bite. We kept pausing mid-sentence just to take another bite, then laughing because we couldn't decide what deserved more attention: the food or the conversation. Service was really attentive without being intrusive. They somehow knew when to check in and when to let us just exist in our little bubble. The music was soft, not overpowering, so we never had to raise our voices or repeat ourselves--something I appreciate more and more these days. We stayed longer than we probably planned, but it didn't feel rushed at all. Just two old friends, warm bowls of ramen, and a space that let us slow down for a bit. Definitely one of those simple meals that turns into a really good memory.

I personally prefer thicker noodles with a chewier texture. It came with one thin slice of meat and half an unmarinated egg. For $20, there are better, more satisfying bowls of ramen in the area. It immediately sets the tone for a meal rooted in traditional technique, yet open to a more modern, elevated interpretation. Yakitori here follows a philosophy deeply embedded in Tokyo's top counters, full utilization of the bird, precise binchotan grilling, and a deliberate pacing that emphasizes progression. Within this framework, I explored a more contemporary pairing approach. Elite "Cult" wines into a setting traditionally dominated by beer, sake, and shochu A bottle of Chateau Petrus kicks off the early progression. Its plush plum fruit and silky tannins align with the smoky depth of the grill, particularly alongside lightly charred chicken skewers where restraint in seasoning allows the wine elegance to surface. My approach tonight reflects a growing high end dining trend seen across Tokyo's top yakitori-ya, where prestigious Bordeaux and Napa cult wines are increasingly paired with yakitori. Bringing that perspective to Culver City, the contrast becomes intentional, humble, fire driven cuisine meeting some of the world's most coveted bottles. As the meal progress, the pairing shifts into a high gear, Screaming Eagle alongside Petrus elevates the wagyu into something far beyond traditional yakitori. Both wines concentration and structure cut cleanly through the beef's rendered fat, creating a powerful interplay between richness and precision. Even beef tendon, often seen as a more rustic skewer, takes on a refined dimension here. Against the backdrop of these world class wines, its savory glaze and charcoal kissed exterior provide a compelling contrast to the wines depth and smooth textures. Coming up next are the sake, Fudoh Junmai Daiginjo offers a composed, textural counterpoint. Its rounded umami and gentle fruit sweetness integrate seamlessly with tare-glazed skewers, while a clean finish resets the palate between richer bites and the Tenko 40 Muroka Nama introduces a more expressive, energetic layer. Paired with chawanmushi, sashimi, and lighter preparations, its fresh aromatics and subtle acidity bring lift and contrast, expanding the range of the meal beyond what wine alone could achieve. What I am experimenting here tonight are full of contrast, charcoal and silk, fat and structure, tradition and reinterpretation. Pairing wines like Petrus with yakitori may seem unconventional to a lot of you, but within the context of modern Tokyo dining, it feels increasingly natural. Here in Los Angeles, Gokigen Tori captures a glimpse of that evolution, where even the most traditional skewers meet the world's most prestigious glass. As always, I'll let the photos speak for the rest of the fun.

In addition to the sushi rice they include plenty of greens as well to add a nice crunch to the meal. I ordered the albacore and catfish bowls and my favorite had to be the bbq catfish like many other yelpers. The albacore was fresh as well but I wish the proteins had a bit more per serving to balance out the rice and price point as they come closer to $15+ a bowl. Overall, I thought Yuko's was a solid lunch option with an extensive menu. The rice bowls were hearty but also refreshing depending on the protein option you get.
