I found this place through a promo but keep going back because it's clean, they are doing a great job with Covid regulations, the staff is friendly and on my first time going I was able to ask a lot of question and learn about the different drinks. I love this location in comparison to the one closer to VCU. It's a lot cleaner, relaxing, and the staff are super nice. The service is quick even when they're packed in the evening and they always get my drink right. The manager is also there a lot and interacts with customers on the floor to make sure everyone is satisfied which I really appreciate. read more

So the tea is excellent, the quality good, but I just don't like the honey-sweetened bubbles. I'm afraid I'm a purist that way. I also have a really hard time ordering from their app sometimes seeing which ones have caffeine and which ones don't to order for the kids. That's gotten a little bit better on the app I think with "tea" in the name more consistently, but a simple leaf like they have on the menu in the actual store would be helpful. Other descriptors would be great too - like what the Wow bubbles are. Sometimes the bubbles are not fully cooked either - probably a factor of how busy they are. Our go-to for bubbles cuz this is the best/only option we have found so far when in the area but could use a few changes. read more

The drinks are way too sugary though, even if you get the lowest sugar level. 30% sugar is the lowest option for flavored drinks, so I wish there were a way to get less, say 10%. I very rarely write negative reviews & I usually have good experiences at this location but the visit I had today was so unacceptable. My order took 40 minutes, and staff did not inform me that an ingredient was out until 30 minutes into my wait, despite me asking about the (PICKUP) order once before. The one whom I assume was the manager on duty (short hair, taking orders at register) was acting like it was not that big a deal and did not apologize. First time entering this newly opened KFT I was greeted by an all-star crew. The business was buzzing with excitement and it was evident that they prided themselves on quality service and a warm environment. The owner of the KFT, Mikey, was nothing but class when we talked and he encouraged us to come back anytime and we would receive the same service as we did that day! Best boba in Richmond! The staff is friendly and the place always feels clean. The decoration is very pretty mainly the neon sign they have up. Bathroom also felt really clean and modern looking. I've been here a few times and their drinks are always good. Personally I don't like sweet so sticking to 50% sugar has never failed. Definitely would visit again. read more

First and foremost, the service is amazing. Second, all of the drinks are great. If the drinks doesn't come out to how you wanted it to be then they will gladly replace it for you. I tried the winter milk tea with 50% sugar and it was very delicious. I would recommend trying the winter milk tea and their honey green tea. We were so thrill kungfu tea opened in westend so we don't have to drive to downtown. Despite the negative health benefits, we buy from kungfu once in a while. On this location, we have gone there a few times. Taste is not the same. Tea is very diluted. I can't only taste milk with ice. Dispute the location, we still go there. But today it will be the last time. I order milk tea without boba to share with my son. I got my milk tea. My son has changed his mind and want boba. I went ask if I can add. I have my wallet ready to pay for the difference. Cashier turned long face and gave me attitude and told me free of charge adding boba. I told them I will pay for it and have wallet in hand. They accused me trying to scam the boba. They told me children does not like boba and I am using it as an excuse to scam them. They said their system does not allow to charge boaba only. If they told me from very beginning about their cashier system and cut out all the scamming assumption and attitude, things will be much different. I would me ok telling my son boba next time. Now I have to share my bad experience here. Also for health conscience people, be aware their ingredients. They are using hydrogenated oil in their milk powder. Not all, most of their drink is using this milk powder. Ask them about their ingredients and search for the health effect on this lowest grade of this milk powder. Does it really worth $5 and up? First, I will admit that the drinks are fantastic. My family and I are really happy to have Boba place here in Richmond. That said, they are the SLOWEST place to get drinks. They can never figure out how to make drinks in order. Every time I place an order for my family and myself, MANY orders behind me are completed before ours. I have ordered ahead multiple times, waited 20 minutes, and still had to wait an additional 30 minutes for 4 drinks! Other Families and college kids place their orders, and have received their orders before ours. I would like to think this is an isolated incident but it is not. We have been to this store about half a dozen times hoping that they can not figure out to make drinks in the order they are received but they still have not. The staff is always apologetic but how do you not figure this out? How do 20+ drinks placed 20minutes AFTER my order get made before my order of 4 drinks? If you have the time, and don't mind waiting OVER 45minutes for your drinks this might be the place for you; however, I can not recommend going here no matter how good the drinks are. read more
