We came here to visit with some family in the area and we were looking for some good boba tea. This was the right place to go to. They have all the other typical boba tea flavors such as lychee, honeydew, etc. My personal favorite boba tea flavor is taro which is ube to Filipinos (same thing). We ordered the taro milk green tea with no bubbles and it was amazing. The taro flavor was perfect and it had that great creamy taste you would expect from a good milk tea. I just wish there was more taro options on there menu but that's just my preference. I would come back here again for some good boba tea if I was back in Richmond. I have been to this place 4 times in the past week alone so I figured they earned a good review :) I've tried KFT locations in Boston and Columbus and while both those menus were way larger, I realize this place just started up and needs a little time to grow. All the more reason for every bubble tea lover in the area to come check it out and support more often!! (smaller menu but same great quality)! After being a college student deprived of good bubble tea for the past years in Richmond, I'm just over the moon that I get to at least satisfy the craving senior year. Great bubble tea on the VCU campus! For tea as fresh as you are. I lived a block away and loved coming here! They were fast and friendly! I recently ordered the taro milk tea with bubbles, no sugar and less ice. I love that you can customize the sugar and ice levels. Fast service! Adorable, trendy interior design and comfortable place to relax and kick back with friends. Kung-fu tea is the place to be. I ordered the passion fruit green tea with Boba and pineapple coconut jam. I love the graphic design of the straws and the overall presentation of this establishment. I came with friends and hung out for an hour or so and did not feel rushed out. Kung Fu tea is a nice place to hang out and enjoy delicious varieties of teas. This is real boba, just like how it's made in Taiwan. The drinks are well mixed and I like how you can customize everything from the sweetness level to the amount of ice you want. Most importantly, the tapioca balls are just the right amount of QQ (chewiness) and super fresh. The times I've been here, I've had a Green Milk Tea with extra boba, to which I've enjoyed! This place is the best bubble tea you'll get around here. They have a great selection of flavors and toppings and their prices are pretty low. I love this place but I'm not gonna lie all the choices overwhelm me lol. My go to drink is the lychee punch and I always get it with less ice. I'm pretty picky about how sweet my drinks are and I appreciate how you can choose to have less ice and more/less sugar. read more

The fruit drinks/punches and teas are refreshing. I highly recommend them! However, the milk teas are a hit or miss for me. Sometimes, the milk teas can have a powdery taste, which is odd since you would think that the drink would be smooth. I would be careful on ordering the milk teas. read more

Customer service has improved a lot! 1 star was a a little too harsh in retrospect but they really listen to these reviews and improve from them. The cashiers are more attentive to each order and the staff are more approachable when making orders. I think this location is going to be really successful for a while. read more

Was in Richmond for the day and decided to stop in and try something new, had heard good reviews. The menu was huge, lots of options. Our order was served up very fast. The building was clean. I ordered the lemon strawberry green tea it was very refreshing. The only downside I would say would be parking we had to drive around for a little while before we found a spot but we would come back. read more

not THE best milk tea i've ever had, but definitely as good as it gets in richmond. this is my go to place around here. i do have to mention i am from california where there is a plethora of awesome boba shops to choose from lol. we do have kung fu tea back home and that is generally not my go-to. their milk teas tend to be made very sweet so i would recommend order 50-75% sweet instead. the taro milk tea is definitely way way way too sweet so order 25% sweet. my favorites here are the green milk tea (it isn't jasmine) and their original KF tea. i'm a milk tea person so i can't say i've tried the other fruity teas they got here though. service is mediocre, they always seem to be in a more sour mood. read more

Employees were fast and friendly! I've never tried bubble tea so it was great that the person on register was patient and helpful in finding something I'd enjoy. New place that a friend and I happened across. We had no idea how to order as there were so many varieties on the menu. The place was packed, so we figured we'd wait for good tea. Step 1: ask what's recommendations Step 2: choose your sugars (choose regular) If they ask o you want bubbles, be warned. There are jelly-like balls at the bottom of your drink and after prodding the straw through the sealed lid, those little boogers are secretly waiting to surprise your taste buds. We got a large milk tea with boba and I've never had a boba with so much flavor! It was so good! Definitely will be bringing my daughter here. I just wish they would be able to blend it with ice. I've been wanting to try bubble tea for the longest so today seemed like the day to do it. There are so many tea flavors and I wanted sample so many. I ended up getting the Passion Fruit Green Tea. I have found bubble tea heaven! Kung Fu Tea is a tiny front in the middle of VCU it can get extremely packed but they move as quickly as possible but still be prepared to wait. There are so many options here from different flavored tea (milk and non-milk options but also different flavored bubbles) and you can even get mini-bubbles on the weekends! I love boba tea so of course I love Kung Fu Tea. They also have these really amazing taro slushees that you can add boba into. They have a ton of different ways for you to customize your drinks. It is nearly impossible for you to go into Kung Fu Tea and not find a drink you like. I wish there was a little more space to sit, but that's just because the building they're in is small. read more

Their quality is consistently good across all the stores I've been to in NY, MA, CA, and now VA. Lots of different flavors, toppings, and can request more/less sugar and ice. Stopped in last night after picking up some pizza in the mood for a fresh cold sweet tea. It was packed at 9:50 p.m. with college students. They have a good system though, so it's not a long wait. There's an tablet at the front register for you to customize your drink. You can do milk based, classic teas, slushes,punches, yogurt or espresso. I went with Strawberry Lemon Green Tea Punch and it was about three dollars and fifty cents. It was INCREDIBLY sweet. It might have given me a bit of a headache, so I would maybe recommend asking them for a lower sugar percent, which you can do. There's so many choices and all them are fun and delicious. A friend of mine had mentioned this place months ago and I let it go in one ear and out the other. It has been one of my biggest regrets. The same friend finally convinced me to go with her to try it out a few weeks ago and I have been completely obsessed since. My favorite item on the menu (honestly, the only thing I have tried) is the Taro Slush with bubbles. Every time I visit, I say to myself that I will finally get a different flavor but I can't quit it at all. Taro is definitely my go to for bubble tea so it is difficult to deviate from my norm. No surprise, I highly recommend the Taro Slush with bubbles because it is amazing. Through every visit, the staff has been amazing, helpful and sweet. The shop is always clean and they have games for the customers to check out while they enjoy their tea. The parking can be very tricky since it's location is in the heart of VCU. If you can't find a spot on the street, there are always the two paid lots (HH Lot, which is in front of RamTech and BB Lot which is across the street next to Plaza Art) that are close by. $1 will get you an hour of parking time. read more
