    P13. Steam Juicy Pork Dumplings

This is the first time I have been back here since they changed ownership and changed name a few years ago. It is really outstanding, I think even better than before. I'll have to try it more often!

Still a solid place for handmade noodles. I like that they give you several different options and recommendations. Their beef noodle soup is a solid go-to here. The wait staff is courteous and the restaurant isn't cramped. I typically go when it isn't too crowded.

Kungfu Kitchen has THE BEST Xiao Long Bao in the Valley. I've been coming to this restaurant for years, even since they were known as Chou's Kitchen. I've also been to numerous other local Asian restaurants. None has matched the Steamed Juicy Pork Dumplings you'll find here. The wraps are whisper thin and delicate, the pork is tasty and ... the soup is flavorful; not an afterthought. I'd give 10 stars if I could! I've sampled many other dishes here, too. The Scallion Pancakes are always served hot, light and crispy. The Cucumber with Garlic Sauce is consistently cool and crispy. I just wish they'd add Shu Mai to the menu. I must give credit where credit is due. The service was perfection! I wish I could remember the Server's name. While I've been to other restaurants where the Server does the bare minimum, this woman was proactive, attentive and friendly. Her service was worth more than a 20% tip. Again, 10 stars are warranted! Since re-opening as "Kungfu Kitchen", there's been an update to the dining room. The refresh makes it look lighter and brighter. I just wish the wood- look tables were real wood instead of plastic. They seem odd to the touch. Plus, the seats slip around with the slightest movement. If it's top notch Xiao Long Bao you're looking for, look no further. Kungfu Kitchen has the best.

My family and I wanted to go to Chou's, but they were closed on the day we picked. But remembered this use to be the second location. Saw that their menu was similar and decided to give them a go. There was six of us but I got there early to get a table. I walked in no one greeted me and they were on their phone ignoring me, even though there was only two other tables in the establishment. Once they finally decided to acknowledge me they told me to pick a seat. I chose the big round table near the front. They got upset and told me I couldn't sit there. So I told them I had 6 in total, they gave me attitude and side eye as I continued to sit. The rest of my family came, we do have one vegan in out family so I ordered something from the menu and told them we couldn't do the brown sauce and to take out the meat, our server argued with me about it and wanted to put it in her way and it still came out wrong. We also ordered the cold meat appetizer, XLB, veg dumplings, spicy crispy chicken, toothpick lamb and spicy chili fish. The cold meat platter was literally 50% peanuts and only had two cuts of meat. Veg dumplings were pretty good. Our Pork XLB seemed cold and the first three of us ate it all in one bite and just thought maybe it was just sitting there for a while. Well the fourth person to eat it bit it in half and screamed, the pork wasn't cooked. So the other three kind of freaked out lol funny but not funny. ( only two of us ended up with stomach issues ) We told our server and she didn't seem like she cared much and just asked if we wanted another one. We respectfully declined. Their toothpick lamb was great cuts of lamb and we enjoyed the flavors. The crispy spicy chicken was actually pretty delicious as well. The chili fish had nice cuts of fish but could have been a bit more flavorful. Can't say if we will ever make the drive from Gilbert to come here again, but they need better staff.

Hot and sour. This bowl was a small size! Really reasonable for $8

We were in the search of some good dumplings and noodles near the campus. This restaurant is super close and was great. Food is good and affordable. Being near campus, it's definitely important to be affordable. There were only 2 of us so we got 3 dishes. Yummy! It wasn't busy since we came around 3 pm. I would highly recommend trying this place!

I've been craving toothpick lamb and definitely was in a lamb mood. I've had this dish in the past at several places, including this place before with friends and it is one of the best that is cooked well and seasoned perfectly with a nice kick. The lady that took my order was friendly. I would highly recommend this place, have had so many good and well seasoned, spicy dishes here.

This is my go-to Chinese place and I can't believe I haven't written a review about it yet! We love dinning in due to the quick service and amazing fresh food. Our go-to plates are the Mongolian beef and the chicken stir fry noodles. I also love the Szechuan Chicken or Beef but it's really spicy so brace yourself if you want to try it. The Mongolian beef is the best dish by far tho! The sauce they are using, the super tender beef and the veggies cooked together just make it a wonderful plate. Definitely recommend this place!

    Twice cook pork belly
    Nina E.

Well we sat down and our order was twice cooked pork belly, spicy duck pot, vegetable dumplings, and, sour chicken. The twice cooked pork belly was very spicy couldn't finish it. The food is very authentic. The service is not that good. You have to ask for things that you want they don't offer you a spoon any sauces to go with your meals. I had to waitress down to get extra napkins. Other than that, the food is pretty good.

Companion and I arrived at 5:45 and were seated promptly. Our server Nikki brought menus and took our drink orders. We started off with Calamari. It was perfectly cooked and came with 2 sauces that I have never had served with it before. One was MaPloi, and the other was an aioli that was nicely spicey. The portion was large and unfortunately, we couldn't finish it. Companion ordered Fish & Chips. A nice sized portion of cod, perfectly fried. Unfortunately, the chips were not fried the way companion asked for them and most of them were left on the plate. For myself, I ordered the Scallop & Shrimp Combo which came with nicely prepared brussel sprouts which were grilled and then had balsamic vinegar over them. I also ordered the char broiled zucchini, which I did not care for and left most of it on my plate. On to desserts! Desserts are prepared in house and not from the outside. Companion ordered Bread Pudding. Sliced from a loaf and served with a Jack Daniels Whiskey sauce and a ball of vanilla ice cream. Companion was so full that it was not finished but not before declaring it to be delicious. I ordered the Butter Cake. A delicious cupcake sized portion tasting deeply of butter, served with whipped cream, berries, and topped with vanilla ice cream. Once again, the portion was so big that I could only eat half of it. As one might expect in a restaurant of this caliber, it was squeaky clean. Service was efficient and almost all of the food was prepared as ordered. 5 stars

This place looked like it did a good seafood boil and was located near where our hotel was. Upon entering we were greeted and sat right away. He ordered a shrimp basket while I ordered my usual snow crab. Heads up, all the supplies will be brought in the bottom of the discard bucket like gloves, lemons, and crab crackers. I wasn't aware of this, and placed all the discarded items on top of it while eating bareheaded as I didn't see supplies, and no one was around to ask. Usually places will bring on the side, and I wish I was told that in advance when it was brought to the table. It made for quite the mess, but if we return I'll know for next time. Once our server returned to check in after 10+ minutes that's when we were advised, and I adjusted though I had put my boil bag in there so most had been soiled. As for the food, he liked his shrimp while I thought the crab was okay in flavor/spice. It didn't really standout out like other places I've been to recently, but overall I would return if I was in the area.

We were able to snag happy hour deals for the chili edamame and the Las Vegas and spicy yellowtail rolls. The rolls were very tasty and came out in less than 5mins. The edamame.... THE BEST edamame I've had to date. These are a required must-try for anyone going here. We decided to try a hot pot for the first time and went with a fan favorite spicy seafood pot. I was scared it would be fishy, which I don't like. But it was in a tonkotsu broth (pork bone broth) so the seafood flavor was just in the seafood itself, which was perfect for me. It was so good. Not very spicy though, and I think that would level it up a bit. Off happy hour, it is a bit pricey. A hotpot is $20 but easily feeds two or three people, but the rolls are about $7-$14 a piece which adds up. Happy hour is a good time to be there. If you're not a fan of strong flavors, I would recommend asking for lighter seasoning on some dishes and a little extra water in the soups. That balance worked well for our preferences. Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality of the food. During the hour we were there, the restaurant wasn't busy. There were only a couple of tables being served, yet our drinks were never refilled, our table wasn't bused, and our rice never arrived with our hot pot soups even after our server asked if we wanted it. It seemed to be forgotten. What really stood out was that we ended up eating dessert with a table full of dirty dishes still sitting in front of us and empty drinks that had not been refilled. I also noticed that the table next to us appeared to receive much more attentive service. Their drinks were refilled, their dishes were cleared promptly, and staff regularly checked on them to see if they needed anything. In comparison, our table received very little attention. I don't know why there was such a difference in service. It left me wondering whether we were being treated differently, though I can't say for certain. Overall, the food was excellent, but the service was disappointing and significantly affected our experience. (Server was Dhillon T.)
