We happened upon this place randomly one night after an event and it was supposed to be a Taiwanese restaurant which we love so we figured we would try! It was relatively busy and seemed like a lot of people eating there. The staff is super friendly and nice. They were also very accommodating to our kiddos which I really liked. We were in a great mood eating there as the food came out fast and the ambiance is bright and friendly. Nothing fancy but casual and clean We got the following: Egg rolls - 5/5 according to my son Beef noodle soup - 3/5 Braised Pork over rice - 3/5 Chive filled bread - 5/5 Green onion pancake - 4/5 We will go back as my kid loves this place but only if we are in the area.

The Hunan Pork had a nice spicy kick and crunchy vegetables. The Mongolian Beef was good, but not as flavorful. It was disappointing that no rice was included for either dish. It will be unlikely I'll order theses dishes again since they don't come with rice. Both dishes need to eaten with rice.

The rating is more of 3.5 stars. The service is excellent. They're so friendly here. Also there are lots of tables and it's just cute that their mascot is a panda. My 4 year old son was being bad of course and climbing all over. They smiled at him while I was yelling at him to sit on his butt! The food is where it was lacking. While they have an extensive menu, the flavors weren't quite there. The beef noodle soup was okay and the meat wasn't cooked down enough. The kids loved the broth though so perhaps at least it's kid friendly. The spicy wontons weren't bad especially after adding extra chili oil on top. The lu rou fan was disappointing. The kids enjoyed the egg rolls. I think the only thing my husband thought was good was the chive pancakes.

I've been here multiple times and for good reason. The attention to details and flavor really stood out to me. I love that they make all of their dumplings in house and you can really see/taste the difference. We always order food here family style so we can enjoy a multitude of things. I really was impressed by the sliced beef and tripe in chili oil and the braised beef noodle soup. The service here was attentive and although it does take a while for all the food to arrive, I'm not complaining. Solid restaurant choice if you are looking for an authentic experience. Would HIGHLY recommend!

My favorite dumpling spot in arizona. Prices are cheap. The service is fast. Lot of seatings. The soup dumplings are huge and full of flavor.

We love coming here for a quick bite to eat whenever we are in this side of town and hands down the best dish here is the dry red pepper fried fish filet. We decided to try the green beans this time and they were also delicious! The soup dumplings here are okay but are fun to try, a bit on the dry side and you don't really get any of the "soup" from them. Out of the different xiao long bao they have, the pork truffle was our favorite one. The dan dan noodles are good too. Popcorn chicken was okay. But we definitely recommend the fish! We get it every time :)

Amazing restaurant! I came here with a family of four and we absolutely loved it. We ordered the pork soup buns, pork and cabbage dumplings, chicken chow mein, pork wonton in chili sauce, and pan fried pork and cabbage dumplings. We were not disappointed. Everything was spectacular. We really enjoyed the chili wontons, chow mein, and the pan fried dumplings. Service was quick and great. The atmosphere is good and I really like how you can see the dumplings being made. Will be coming back!

    Mongolian Beef. Excellent.

Well. Nice looking place. Good parking. Good service. Very busy when we were here. Now for the food. **The Mongolian beef was excellent! Lots of tender beef and onions in a wonderful rich brown sauce. Yummy. ** The hot and sour soup. I must agree with a previous reviewer. Not good at all. At all. Bland. Awful. They should completely revamp the recipe or take it off the menu. They were kind enough to take the soup back and replace with another item. The signature pork soup dumplings were disappointing. Texture, flavor. Broke apart too easily on the steamer. Just missed the mark. We will probably return to try some other things. I really wanted to enjoy this place. We will try one more time.

Great ambience, clean, bright, open. Even when it was packed it didn't feel crowded.

Another great experience, great service, great clean open ambience, excellent service. The food is stellar, authentic, fresh, high quality ingredients. Ordered the pork soup dumplings, bulgogi beef rice and scallion pancakes. Everything was fantastic. Each time I leave here I feel satisfied, happy and healthy, and find myself saying "that was so good" for the next couple days. Highly recommend and so glad they're close by!

We had such a great dinner here a few Saturdays ago! I brought my sister and friend along and were seated as soon as we walked in. The menus were given to us and a few minutes later, our orders were taken. We ordered: Fried cream cheese wontons House chow mein Pork wonton in chili sauce Pork wonton in chicken broth Spicy fried green beans Pan fried pork chives and shrimp dumplings All the dishes came out one by one. The green beans were delicious! They were crispy, super flavorful, and crunchy. The chow mein and soup were also my favorite. The pork wonton with chili dumplings weren't spicy so they weren't our favorite. The crispy pan fried ones were bomb. Almost everything was tasty and fresh. Service was good and super fast. Our plates were picked up as soon as they saw we were done. The bill was also brought out quickly. The inside was clean.

The bao here is quite delicious, with some unique flavors that really stand out. The orange chicken was also extremely tasty--perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Since the restaurant is family-owned and family-operated, you can really feel the authenticity in every dish. Everything was reasonably priced, and the portions were generous, which made the meal even more satisfying. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, and you could genuinely tell she loves what she does. Her warmth and enthusiasm added a lot to the overall experience. Overall, this is a great spot for comforting, flavorful food served with authentic family pride.

Enjoyable selection of food. I'm always delighted to have some Mapo soup and many restaurants don't have that in the menu. The cucumber salad with cilantro was delicious! It has a bit of a kick. Service is attentive. Restaurant didn't seem loud even though it was crowded which was nice.

Both the service and the food were excellent on our first visit to Uncle Bao. We had the shrimp dumplings, five soup dumpling sampler, black pepper beef, and twice cooked pork. The servers were very attentive and made sure we were enjoying everything. The atmosphere is clean and inviting. We're excited to go back and try more of the menu!

The excellent chili sauce helped, but I prefer my dumplings to have some seasoning on their own. Service was attentive, although the kitchen was a little slow. Every dish was prepared beautifully and packed with flavor, but the lobster was truly divine. Perfectly cooked, incredibly tender, and infused with the aromatic flavors of fresh ginger and green onions, it was one of those dishes that leaves a lasting impression long after the meal is over. The beef and shrimp lo mein were equally delicious, with rich savory flavors and generous portions, while the walnut shrimp was perfectly crisp with a delicate sweetness that balanced the dish beautifully. The fried rice was the perfect complement to everything on the table. We also enjoyed a few sake bombers, which are hands down the best we've had anywhere. I ordered from the cart, somewhat point and taste. I had the salt fried shrimp, the shrimp dumplings sticky rice in leaf packets and the calamari. It was a lot and more than ample for two. The shrimp were huge and fried shell on head intact, which was fine with me, but for those who don't want to eyeball their meal, take heed. But they were crisp fresh and delicious, and salty. The calamari were fairly tender and freshly fried and salty as well. The star of the show, for me was the little shrimp dumpling. Encased in tender opaque skins, and packed with shrimp. I'd order those again. The sticky rice packets were filled with savory and seasoned ground meat, I think pork. Which i usually avoid, but I was committed. It was excellent ! I will return for another crack at the dim sum cart and this time I want to try the sweet side of the menu. Though I suppose I could always head to hmarts Paris baguettes for the custard pies, my favorite. No matter I will be back. Our service was spot on btw and the dining room began to fill after 1200. So get there early... it was old school decor which actually added to the charm of it all.

She was the saving grace as she was very nice and polite and attentive. When ever we asked for something we got it right away. Also the cart ladies are much nicer as well than the other dim sum place. The food was comparable with the other place as well. The place is large and mostly clean. It does get an oily smell as they are frying things in the open and you can see it. I do like they have fish tanks for the kids to look at the fresh fish and lobster. One thing to note is that it does seem a bit more expensive than the other dim sum place as well. It's hard to choose which dim sum place we should go to moving forward.

A gentleman that seems overly preoccupied with putting food items in a delivery bag. Every table has a reserved sign on it, so where would you like us to sit? It seems very unorganized. I would expect to see this type of restraunt in a suburban strip mall, rather than a higher scale shopping mall. Took easily 10 min to get our drinks to us. Twice we were offered other people's food, so there is a need to update POS systems or front of house management. The cheese puffs are very good. The orange chicken was more sweet than spicy. No presentation, just put on a plate and take it out. I felt like I was at someone's home, rather than a restaurant. Maybe that is the vibe they are going for. The dish was more like opening up a bag of chicken fingers then dump a sweet orange sauce. If anyone has had a frozen orange chicken meal, made by a company that is famous for their pies. A meal that can be purchased at your local grocery store...well, that is close to what we are talking about. It came out without any serving utensil. WTH? The Mongolian beef was more like pot roast and fatty. It certainly was not what I would consider spicy. Ambiance is VERY casual. There are regulars and they seem to be like family, so that is cool, once you have been accepted in the circle of trust. Maybe I am spoiled, because we tend to get very good Chinese in Las Vegas, due to the "Whales" coming in to gamble. Maybe this considered fabulous for Scottsdale, but certainly not what I was raised to expect. Now, it has been few weeks since my nephew and I tried this place. I wanted to let it breathe before posting "hot". To be fair. We were offered some dumplings to apologize for the wait. We declined, because I was afraid of what they may taste like. I asked for the check and the lady resisted saying that we hardly touched the food and she did not want to charge. This also was nice, but my ENTIRE working life has been in the hospitality/customer service/food service industry. They have bills to pay. They prepared the meal. They provided the service. They deserved to be paid. She apologized once again and said that they were using a new cook. I thought that I might be unusually over-critical however, my nephew, who resembles a trash compactor went away saying that there would be way he would ever get food from there. I wish this place well. Maybe there needs to be a better front of house/back of house dynamic. I can think of many things that would help.
