I purchased a used car from the Kuni auto center. Other than driving right by it (signage could be better) the experience was not awful. Not much of the normal scam fee's, and my salesperson (Chalen) was pleasent to deal with and supplied answers to all of my silly questions. so far the vehicle sold is holding together, they did everything to it they claimed (had it inspected locally, unable to do that in portland around xmas all those firms were off for holiday) Chalen did her best to expedite my visit - im old and have not had a dealership experience since the early 90's for an SHO. I recommend Kuni auto center and Chalen specifically, I did not interact w/anyone else other than the finance lady, who didnt seem to happy to take my money for some reason! read more

I walked out of this shop after a brief conversation with the estimator. My daughter's car was the victim of an incident in which the other party had admitted 100% liability and agreed for their insurance to cover. In the initial conversation, the estimator started questioning my methods of having my insurance company cover the costs and then subrogate the claim. He then proceeded to offer legal advice; advising that it is very unlikely that the other party would cover the costs despite the admission of guilt in a police report and proceeded to inform me that Amica (our insurance carrier) would ding us on our insurance. While in the shop, I called Amica and spoke with an adjuster on our behalf. This estimator proceeded to interact in an overall condescending manner to the adjuster as well. He seemed to enjoy arguing with others. I felt this shop was not acting in my best interest and the estimator seemed to be unfriendly. After I left the shop (with my car) - I received a call from my insurance adjuster -- who informed me that there is no way that I would be responsible for anything and this estimator was completely uninformed on how the subrogation process works. BEWARE -- IF YOU CHOOSE TO WORK WITH THIS SHOP, DO NOT RELY SOLEY ON THEIR GUIDANCE - DOUBLE CHECK WITH YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY. I would advise this estimator to focus on repairing cars and stay away from giving legal advice and disparaging insurance companies, especially the ones that provide him with referrals. read more

The actual purchasing process was fine with no problems. It was after driving the car home that we noticed different sized tires on the front from the back. We reached out to Kuni only to be told "the front tires and rear tires can sit at different sizes, especially with off-road vehicles. The rear sizes should match each other and so should the fronts, but it's okay if the front 2 are different than the rear 2". Our research shows that an all wheel drive with a CVT transmission running different size tires will destroy the transmission. We did not want to take a chance so had to spend another $1,200 on a new set of tires. read more

I had a hold on it until it was finished 3 weeks later later. After I got it home I noticed the poor body work done, and the poor quality paint job. Went to look for a car to buy. We saw this BMW X6, test drove it, and liked it. HOWEVER, we saw what looked like some damage on the back bumper and the sales person, Maia said it was NOT DAMAGE, "That's how it is supposed to look." (It was symmetrical damage.)We bought the car and took it to Kuni BMW to get a tow hitch put on. Guess what? IT'S DAMAGE TO THE BUMPER. It will cost $2,000 to fix it. We feel lied to. We went back to the Auto Center only to be told there's "Nothing they can do." Furthermore, I would not trust that the cars you buy there have actually been serviced with all the recommendations. What we found was that the service review recommended that the SNOW TIRES be removed and new tires put on. They chose not to do that, which means we get to put a couple thousand dollars of tires on this car in 2 months. Oh, the sales rep, Maia, failed to tell us they were "snow tires" when we bought it. When I called her after to ask her about it, she said she would ask her boss...NEVER CALLED ME BACK. Again, took it back, they said they'd give is a hundred dollars off if we bought tires from them. I've always gotten great service at Kuni BMW, but not at this place. Just because it has the name, "Kuni" don't let that influence you or make you think they are anything like Kuni BMW. They will be the first to tell you that they are NOT authorized BMW dealers, they are NOT part of the Kuni BMW business meaning they cannot get you ANY deals with service or parts at Kuni BMW. They are basically like any other used car lot. Buyer beware. They'll tell you anything and lie to you to make the sale. I should have realized the standard of this place when the sales person, Maia, told us that there were other people looking at that car, but they were rude and we were nice, so she was going to ignore their calls if they called because she liked us more than she liked them and then she described herself as "snarky like that." I found the car I wanted. Did a test drive then sat down with the salesman to see what the numbers looked like. Salesman was ok overall, his biggest default wasn't offering me all my options like the CUDL financing since I bank with a credit union. The sales manager was unprofessional and went out of his way to make my life hard like ask for a deposit because I was having my bank send a check for the car also he made a low ball offer on my trade in, so much so that I was forced to not make the purchase then rather I had to sell my car privately in order to not get ripped off by thousands of dollars. DONT TRADE YOUR CAR IN TO THIS PLACE. When I finally found out about the CUDL option I decided to make the hour long trip from Washington yet again after many frustrating calls and being asked for a thousand dollar deposit out of nowhere, lucky for them I wanted the car or I would have just walked away at this point. After selling my car privately on there car lot I finished the transaction. Later I found out through my mechanic that my breaks were TOAST. Pads where 100% done and I had warped rotors, all this after a week of owning the car. This dealership is the worst and I wouldn't recommend buying from here if you were my worst enemy. They try to pull fast ones; they don't inspect the car before they sell it because I would have still bought with the brakes in the condition they were in but they would have to discount a little for it and lastly the trade in offer of 40% of the trade-in's value. I spent nearly an hour and half in traffic to go check out a car here and discuss a trade-in and Jake, the Sales Manager, acted as though my presence was an inconvenience to him. Regardless, I checked out the car and found that it was completely trashed - Parts of the body literally falling off, paint was chipped on about 50% of the car, and the test drive had its own share of issues - And it was NOT priced accordingly. To make matters worse, Jake asked what I thought of the car, to which I replied, "It was a little beat up" (Understatement of the century) so he responded by suggesting *my car* was garbage too, which it most certainly is not. I was deceived into believing I was going to look at a clean car, and my treatment by Jake was not only terrible, but down right insulting. I would recommend you don't come here. The only reason I didn't leave a one start review, was due to the helpfulness of Matthew, a Client Advisor who showed me the car. He was polite and professional. read more

Kuni was pretty good to deal with, got me a loan with zero down and no payments for a few months and gave me some free gas. Whatever you do DO NOT BUY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY they try to sell you it is worthlessness ! (The Warranty Group / MRCLAIMS.NET) KUNI AC screwed up and misrepresented the mileage on my vehicle to the warranty company so when I went in to get it serviced it was a nonstarter because they thought it was out of warranty already. For $3,500 it only covers about 25K miles. The vehicle i bought has several mechanical issues including water leaking in from the roof and the GOLD warranty will not fix this ! I Ran out of battery and Gas with my 5yo daugher stranded on the side of the highway and it took TWO HOURS for roadside service to arrive. Now Im trying to get some work done and after three trips to the dealer repair shop, they still cant get an approval because THE WARRANTY COMPANY WANTS TO INSPECT IT IN PERSON ! Photos not good enough. SO I have to leave the car there for at least one overnight and two days. read more

The only reason I even gave them one star is because of Jeff the finance manager. He is a delight to work with and was the only positive experience I had with Kuni. I purchased a so called Certified Pre Owned car from Kuni about six months ago. The who sales process was mediocre at best. Our sales man George, while he was nice it was very difficult to understand him due to his accent. He was not overly pushy which was a nice. The folks at Kuni are not good with following up on phone calls and seem not to care about anything but the sale. When I got home I realized that there was no cargo cover for my car. I called to see if maybe it was there and if not, could the give me a part number so I could order one. I gave up after calling several times and not receiving a return call. A month and a half later I started feeling a knocking under the floor of my car. I took it to the dealership and they did an inspection told me that nothing was wrong. The knocking go worse over the next few weeks so I decided to take to the Ford dealership. After the fist inspection they told me that I needed new stabilizer end links ( which I asked Kevin,the shop foreman, to inspect and he assured me 2 times he had inspected them), new motor mounts and a new steering column. That's over 3,000 dollars in repairs on a "certified pre owned" car. The certification was why we chose to go to Kuni vs. another dealer with similar cars and prices. The knocking is still there and nobody can figure out what it is. So I called Kuni to let them know my situation. I spoke with the sales manager Eline Sorg. Who assured me that they could help me out. So I reluctantly made my way into the dealership.....again. When I arrived, it was like nobody knew anything about anything. Eline did not even come to talk with me, she just sent me to the service department. Which told me the same thing they told me before, except this time I was told by a rude service advisor named Anthony who frankly, sounded like he had no clue what he was talking about. I attempted to call Kevin the shop foreman, to talk to him since Anthony had no idea what he was talking about. I left a message, and am still waiting for a call back...almost a week later. DON'T BUY FROM KUNI.....HORRIBLE customer service and pitiful excuse for a service center. read more

This business is a complete waste of your time. We brought in a printed offer and after a short wait and appraisal, the sale man offered a price on the vehicle that was a bit low but acceptable. He assured us he wanted our car but stated that we needed to have carfax fix some milage errors. After fixing the issue, we returned a few days later and received a much lower offer for the same car in the same condition. Their company refused to live up to their original offer and argued with us on over the value of the vehicle they had seen literally 3 days before. If you can't even hold your own employees accountable for their actions, you can't call yourself professionals. This kind of practice shouldn't fly in an already dying industry. I saw a 2014 Mazda6 for $14,995 Kuni Auto Center in Beaverton a great price, so I texted to say I would like to come see it and take it for a test drive. So I drove 15 minutes and met with Abraham and he had the car waiting for me and took me on a nice test drive... it was a car I would definitely be interested in doing a deal for!! When we returned from the test drive I told him that I was wanting to trade in my Mustang so he had me sit and fill out a photocopied application. Then he took the application to finance without asking much more and I waited for about 15 minutes... he came back back and basically said, "we will wait for the banks to respond, so go home and we will call you." He escorted me to the door and got in to drive the Mazda6 back to the car lot. I thought to myself humm that's Weird!?! But okay?!? So I waited 4 hours and texted him, "any news from the banks?" He replied "No not Yet", so I'm getting the feeling Oh Yes they are totally Blowing Me Off !!! Why?? So 2 hours later I call the dealership... I explained who I was and that I just needed to know what the status was or was it just a dead deal, just let me know. Whoever it was said, "Ok let me check on this and I will call you right back!" ... NOTHING ... over 48 hours go by... Abraham calls and leaves a Voicemail, "So we checked with the banks and since you have no money down, have bad credit, we need someone with good credit... oh and more income." Really !!! We are the happy owners of a new to us 2007 Acura MDX Sport. We love it! Update: I "had" given this 5 stars, but now because of lack of communication and follow up I have to give it 3. Plus, I noticed that they put a stock rear-view mirror I there that isn't even for this particular car. Do not let the fancy cars in their lot fool you, Kuni Auto Center is no better than any 2-bit back alley car lot. My wife and I went in to trade in our Jetta for a 2014 Audi Q7 for a more spacious, family-friend vehicle. It had pretty clean Carfax records, very low miles (under 60k), and no immediate red flags with it. However, on the drive home on the freeway, this vehicle was EXTREMELY unstable and I almost had to have it towed back because of it's shaking and severe alignment issue, power steering felt nonexistent as well. The disturbing conclusion I came to is that they are either NOT properly testing their vehicles prior to putting them up for sale, or they KNEW about these issues and chose not to disclose it. What the hell is wrong with you people?? You knew we came into your dealership with a toddler AND a newborn. That's a disturbing lack of business ethics, and I would recommend everyone to steer clear of these snakes. Oh, and one more thing.. The cherry on top to this experience.. The car was on dead-empty when we bought it so I had to put over $80 in it to fill it up. Wouldn't you know? They didn't refund us for that full tank of gas upon returning the Q7. We were shopping for a used vehicle, had been to a number of dealerships in town before hitting Kuni. My husband met George there, a nice Iranian gentleman who was happy to show us any vehicle we wanted based on what we could afford. Despite the snow and ice, we were able to find a beautiful 2014 Nissan Murano. While we haggled over the price, George bought my kiddos some food out of the machine (we were late getting them lunch), and I enjoyed a cup of espresso. George was going out of his way to make sure we got a good deal and that we were taken care of. We did purchase an extended maintenance plan, which covers the car for the extent of our six year loan. The total value of that was $2800, which was rolled into the cost of our financing. I know someone said on this site not to purchase an extended warranty, but we did feel peace of mind to know that if anything goes wrong, it's covered at their Auto Center, including a new key fob (which we need anyway- there are two of us after all!). All in all, we really enjoyed our experience at Kuni Auto Center. The only reason I didn't give these guys five stars was because I felt that the sticker price was so high that the only way to get the car into KBB range was for them to overprice our trade-in, and because they didn't honor our OnPoint pre-approval rate in the end, (apparently they took our finance loan to Wells Fargo). So now we have to go through the pain of getting it refinanced at the lower rate. Thanks George! We'll be back when I need to trade in my 2002 Mazda. read more

After visiting several dealerships, I found a good truck in Kuni Auto Center. Drove for aTD and we start to negotiate. After almost leaving the place twice, we finally got a deal and bought the truck. Before the Test Drive the sales person had to use a battery jump start, explaining that the car was parked for a long time, and just a few drives will be enough to fully charge the battery. Not happened at all. After two weeks and more than 100 miles I realized that need a new battery. Just left the dealership, where I was told by the salesperson in a polite way that this issue is not their business and if they are not responsible for the battery or even for testing it. If I want them to run a test, I have to pay for. Disappointing. Don't forget about the bad service. If you are buying a car there, have every single detail in writing, before paying! read more

Found a used Escape on Autotrader. Asked if they could work with me on price. Emailed me back too far apart. Sent another email...crickets. No response. Received a notification from AutoTrader about a price drop on the Escape. Sent another email regarding price drop and what we could do. Again no response. Forwarded the email to the General Manager. Said we were too far apart. I said I can put money down. Again he said we were too far apart. Dumbfounded that he didn't even ask how much money down. So I left it at that and said I will look elsewhere. Poor customer service and I have been in the car business for over 20 years. Maybe it's because I am female. read more

They covered all the recalls. It took 4 working days to fix and they provided us with a free loaner. Problem is...when I got my car back, the cruise control no longer worked, and 2 additional lights came on my dash the very next day. We immediately took the car back in and were told it would cost us $160 to diagnose. This WAS a problem they created due to the recall work they did. They tried to tell me that the cruise control hadn't worked for 4 months...however, this was not true. It worked perfectly fine until they did their work. Also, the additional lights that came on were not there either and now only intermittently show up. They caused the problem. I will NEVER EVER buy another BMW. read more

I bought a used Audi from these guys. Within a few months, I was having major trouble with the car and they couldn't have been less helpful. Bad oil leaks and engine problems related to a past recall that wasn't addressed. Even the extended warranty they sold me wouldn't help. Thankfully a local Audi dealership fixed the issue (at no charge). I would recommend against buying from this company, particularly used. Kelly Blue Book from Kuni Auto Center was $16892 for a VW Passat, I drove up to the Kuni Auto center only to be presented by a verbal offer of $15000 claiming that the car is not selling well. No detailed reasoning given on the car condition. I really thought the times of trying to rip off your customers while selling a car are over through such standardized transparent programs like KBB. Not with this dealer, they take part of KBB to seem credible. Not even a sign that they tried to clear the air afterwards when I sent a complaint. So I really only can make a public review. PS: I sold the car to an honest VW dealer for $16750. EDIT on 1/7/22: The manager John called me and we talked about the situation. He sincerely apologized for the experience I made, which I appreciate a lot and shows there is a great interest to understand and improve. Hence changed my rating from 1 to 2 stars. read more

Melissa was very professional and shared that if my car was in great condition, I might receive more than the AutoTrader price, especially since the car had the JBL sound system and the technology package. When I arrived, I was greeted by George. George made the buying process very fair and smooth. He interacted with his Sales Manager, Eileen who both inspected the vehicle. The process was the antithesis of what I experienced yesterday at Wilsonville Toyota. George made everything flow very smoothly and had me out the door with the car sold at $1500 more than Wilsonville Toyota offered! What a different experience!!!! Ask for George when receiving an appraisal, he is fair, compassionate and professional. I just purchased a used 2011 Mustang Shelby GT 500 for over $30,000 cash. Get the car home and find out that the drivers side catalytic converter has failed, a short in the electrical system and no spare tire, lug wrench or jack. Called and talked to the general manager about these issues. Had sorta of a couldn't care attitude and thought I should have caught these issues myself. I guess that is what they consider certified used car? I will probably have to spend another $2,500 for these issues. He said he would research these problems and call back. Still haven't heard from him. Also the Ford dealer thinks the wrong oil was put in the engine and could ruin it. The cost of one of these engines is $18,000. I'm having an oil analysis done. We bought a 2010 Nissan Xterra from this place last summer. This review is not for the sales aspect of the transaction, but the service. During the test drive, the Xterra's airbag warning/dashboard light was blinking. We were assured that, along with a few other things, everything would be fully restored when we picked the car up. The light was indeed not flashing when we picked it up, but started a few weeks after owning it. We asked to come in and have it addressed. The sales manager connected us with Ethan, who works in the service dept. Unfortunately, the issue would go away and come back and the issue has yet to be determined, but, working with Ethan has been a pleasure. He is so responsive and kind. He seems to go out of his way to ensure I am taken care of and that we wont be charged for the ongoing issue. Kuni has provided me twice with a loaner car while they attempt to get to the root of the issue. I'd like to never return, but should I have to, I'm happy to know Ethan is there to help. WARNING : DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM KUNI AUTO CENTER OR HAVE YOUR VEHICLE SERVICED THERE! We bought a used vehicle from there this time last year. Just days after buying it we noticed the AC wasn't working and brought it back. Kuni "serviced" the AC by just filling it w more Freon claiming the issue was resolved. We didn't use the AC all fall, winter or spring. Come this summer and the high temps end of July/Aug we went to use the AC and noticed it wasn't working again. We called Kuni back for help. They determined a leak in the AC line yet They refused to repair it unless we pay the hundreds of $'s! They know they put a BandAid on it last year & sent us on our way rather than properly fixing the source of the issue. They refuse to do the right thing. Now, we are left with a vehicle we have to either pay to repair or trade in and take a hit on price for. Our family of five is devastatingly miserable in this 90 degree + heat. I wouldn't even give them 1 star if that was possible and still be able to warn you! read more
