best Thai restaurant ever. Wish we had this in NYC. I'm a fan of wonton soup, try it every place I go, and this was the BEST. Curry puffs were delicious, staff and dining room were all duded out in great halloween regalia. (It was the day of Highlands' Halloween parade.) Everyone's meal FRESH and tasty. Everyone VERY accommodating to a 1-year-old and her stroller (which they stored downstairs; "I'm glad I've been working out," said the tiny staffer as she brought it back up. This is authentic Thai Food, which can be made at the spice level of your choosing (from no spice to four-star spicy). $43 for a small (egg roll size) app and two small main dishes seems a lot for takeout. The small dish of Pad Sew-Ew Chicken had 4 small pieces of broccoli that would fit in a tablespoon. The Massaman Curry beef also was lacking in veggies. Looked like a small dish of 'brown'.... no color. Too much meat took away from the balance of what could have been very flavorful dishes. Small container of rice didn't help. Although we had takeout... the restaurant had a nice atmosphere and what little exposure to staff I had was a pleasant experience. May try dine in but I hope they cut back on the meat and add more veggies... Flavor ? Very good. Balance of ingredients as a dish? Not so much. read more

This is my family's favorite restaurant in town. We either order takeout or eat here 1-2 times a week. My daughter has practically grown up there. We started bringing her when she was about 2, and the staff has always been so accommodating and super friendly. Kunya, the owner, is always present, and will take time to say hello to us every time we go in. We've celebrated Thai New Year here for the past 3 years, and Kunya creates a beautiful traditional Thai costume for her to wear each year. They have embraced us like family. The decor is beautiful and the food is delicious. Some favorites in our house are the Summer Rolls, Vegetable Dumplings, Coffee Duck, Pad Kra Prow, Pad Thai, Pad Se Ew and the Curry dishes are delicious. Really enjoyed my meal here. This location has been so many different things, I think the last time I was in here it might've been an ice cream shop. Definitely better as a Thai restaurant! I wasn't too hungry when I got here so I wound up just ordering a vegetable soup. I wasn't expecting much but it turned out to be awesome! The broth was so flavorful and it was packed with vegetables. Also tried some veggie dumplings which were pretty good. Everyone I was with really enjoyed their meals, my dad especially loved the duck. Everything was fairly priced too! Great Thai goes well with curdious service. The curry puffs are pure magic and the perfect way to kick of a great meal. Was in the mood for Thai and fired up yelp to see what was close. I've only recently discovered just how good Thai food is. We got here late but the staff still accommodated us - they let us know the kitchen would be closing soon but we were more than welcome to order and stay. I ordered the basil fried rice with beef. Two words: Basil Duck. Even if you are not a fan of duck this is a must try. Im addicted. All three duck options are awesome but the basil is banging. Its crispy, its spicy and its juicy. I am addicted to all of their soups, the beef salad, the shrimp rolls, and the seasonal appetizers-- which change but are always inventive and delicious. The atmosphere is also cozy and inviting. The best Thai food by far I have ever had. The red chicken curry, pad Thai, pad se ew, and spring rolls never disappoint. I love these meals so much that I order the same things all the time but would love to try everything. A relative of mine travels a lot and when she comes to visit me we have to go here. We took out our order since we stopped on a very busy day (fire works event in the area) so I don't know if that affects our experience. But in all honesty it shouldn't. I really love Thai food and was excited to try this place as it's really close to our new home and it's got stellar reviews and awards. I found the food to be lacking in flavor. I love Thai food for its bold and strong flavors. I really didn't get that from any of the dishes we tried. The calamari taste rubbery and fishy. The chicken peanut skewers were a bit dry and sauce watery and bland, and we got these chicken and vegetable rolls- chicken had this overpowering sweetness in it and the vegetable were neither here nor there. We got pad Thai and a different noodle dish with a thick noodle. The peanut sauce was barely flavored and noodle and chicken tasted dry. It was really disappointing for me. Like I said we ordered on a very busy night. I would hate to think that quality of food goes down that much when it's super busy. read more

I'm used to big, bold flavors when it comes to Thai food. Kunya falls short on some of their dishes for this requirement (Pad Thai, Curry Puffs), and even the Thai iced tea was on the meh side. But this place still gets my vote because there are dishes (Kra Pring Chicken, Pad Khee Mao Beef) that knock my socks off. It really depends on your palate. Add in that the food is fresh and actually reasonable compared to other nearby Thai restaurants. Couldn't believe their dessert prices: I almost wanted to order everything. (Nothing better than ending your meal with Sweet Mangoes and Sticky Rice) And the staff is warm and genuine. May need to update this review after a few more visits to add in more awesome dishes! read more

Here's my new update: Uh oh! this place might be under new ownership and the quality has slipped! Last time we went the menu was slightly different and the staff was different. Food was heavier and greasier, more like mediocre Chinese. The woman whom i think was the (former?) owner came to our table and seemed very anxious about the food quality. We'll try it again before drawing a final conclusion. Former review: This is a surprisingly pretty and pleasant spot, with prompt, efficient service and quite reasonable prices. The menu is not massive, which to me indicates that everything is fresh and made to order. (Massive menus mean lots of frozen stuff is in the back to be microwaved.) I love the steamed wontons with seafood and chicken, the glass noodle salad, the papaya salad and the curries. Actually, it's hard to go wrong. And it's BYO which is another plus! read more

Yum yum yum! Love this cozy little place! The pad Thai is crazy good ! I've been here several times and I'm in love with the yellow curry! My boyfriend never eats this kind of food but I dragged him here one night along with another couple and he surprising liked it and we had a really great time. Came here after a tasting/tour of Carton Brewery which is just down the street. My friend and I ended up getting the lunch specials which were decent if unspectacular. I got a salad and tofu w/ vegetables. Pretty decent value for around $10. There wasn't much tofu in my main dish though and the tofu was kind of soggy. The sauce for it was pretty flavorful though. I would possibly come back although the vegetarian options weren't that enticing to me. read more

Very solid Thai food. Recommend the won ton soup which has some lemongrass in it which gives it a little kick (and it's not salty), the satay was just OK, but the sauces were very good and the pad thai was tasty, made with fresh ingredients and was not at all greasy. Went there last night and ordered the green papaya salad which had a hair in it. They brought out a new one and I asked for more sauce and the waitress responded by saying how they usually charge extra for sauce but since we found a hair in our food it's free. Really? The salad was really lacking flavor. We also ordered the curry puffs which were good. The fried chicken was ok. The Tom yum soup was ok. My Penang curry chicken was standard along with my husband's dish. For dessert we ordered the mango sticky rice which was tasty...finally. The waitress also forgot to add the dessert into our bill which then we had to wait 10 min for them to fix. The service really needs to step up their game. read more

The food here is amazing! Today I discovered they have a lunch menu, too, which was even better for me AND included an appetizer. My favorite is the Kra Prow, spicy and sweet, I like it with brown rice. Beef salad sounds strange, but great dish as well. Tamarind entree is also an interesting choice, so good. Great prices and very authentic. You have to have the Thai Iced Tea (or coffee!) when you are here, the Iced Black Tea with extra lime is worth a try, too. read more

Best thai food for the price in the area by far (as opposed to the two overpriced options in Red Bank). Warm atmosphere and very friendly service as well. Duck, steak, and fish were good. You can tell they have modified their spiciness for American palates so make sure to ask for the pepper flakes if you're looking for heat. Curiously no pork on the menu either but I highly recommend it if you're in Monmouth County. read more

Good flavors here, not typical Thai heat, but in Atlantic Highlands you can't blast the gringos. Tom Kha was great, good quality chicken. If you like Thai, ask to make it spicy. I'll be going here frequently. read more
